Welcome to our latest episode. Bucky once again could not join us however he did provide a quiz for the remaining hosts. We have a special guest in the form of Macster, who attended UKTC for the first time this year and will be joining us in providing their match reports and overall findings for the event. Let's see if he did better than we did? As we recorded this episode the night before the latest new team was released we discuss which race it will be (see how wrong we are.). We also have the report of the finals of season 3 in the Cup of the North, tell me the odds and of course Buckys quiz. You can contact us via any of the following methods to ask a question, ask for the odds or just ask for info on any of the North East Leagues/tournaments or enter any of our competitions. Welcome back to Episode 61 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. Another year flies by and LGT is back! Dave, Vik and a bunch of Team Ignite are attending this year. To mix things up this episode, we thought we'd try to do a slightly unusual tier list. TO CLARIFY BEFORE THE INTERNET IMPLODES, the tier list we've done here is not ranking the strongest armies in the game, so if you've skipped through to the end and are about to shoot us an angry comment, read our method below. This tier list is going to compare the prevalence of factions at the LGT (the LGT Meta) to whether we think the overall player base (not just the top tier, but the entire spectrum of player skills/expectations) of that faction will overperform or underperform (on UKTC terrain). This was a super interesting discussion and we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Grab a drink, sit back, relax and enjoy the episode. See you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik

We're chatting about the WTC this episode, and trying to close the gap between people who aren't so familiar with it. Hopefully you'll learn about the WTC here, and find it useful to use the WTC as a springboard to get your lists into gear for the coming next season! Dave and Typhus
Carol Taggart's 30 year old son Ross reported his mum missing. He explained that they had argued at the house they shared and his mum had stormed out and he was concerned as this was out of character. Despite numerous police appeals there were no positive sightings of Carol. But then three weeks later Carol's body was found at the holiday park where Carol had a caravan - the body was concealed under a caravan just two spaces away from Carol's. This week's episode begins in 2006, in Novokuznetsk – a large industrial city situated in south-western Siberia, Russia. Irish couple Geraldine and Patric Kriegel weren't planning on adopting a child when they visited an orphanage in the Russian city, but when they set eyes on two-year-old Anastasia, their hearts melted and they knew they had to rescue her. Binging her home with them to Lucan, a small town on the outskirts of Dublin, Anastasia was set for a life of privilege... But very sadly, fate had a different plan in store for her... This is a terribly upsetting case that sees us delve in to the disturbing subject of child-on-child murder. Check pout Adam's gin: Bloodhound Gin – Persie Distillery - use code UKTC for 10% off! Hey All, Welcome back to Episode 23 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. This episode focuses on the upcoming huge 300+ person Birmingham GT, a 5-man Team Tournament hosted by the UKTC. This event uses a fixed terrain format with the balanced UKTC layouts and mission order, resulting in a more singles-type meta. This is our first outing as Team Ignite to a team event and we've brought a strong 5-man team with the aim to do our best at this one! Tune in to hear about the lists that we're bringing as well as discussing some of the top teams in attendance, including the mighty Team England (who win every one of these events!). As always, enjoy, let us know what you think and see you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik
Hey All, Welcome back to Episode 21 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. This weeks episode focuses on the 360-person Warhammer Fest Super-Major last weekend, which saw 5/6 of Team Ignite attending, with 3 of our players (Chris Radford, Brian Seipp and Dave) making it into the top 16 cut for day 3 of the event. As the first Games Workshop Open Terrain event to take place in the UK, we spend the first section of the episode discussing our thoughts on the terrain and event as a whole, as well as compare it against the UKTC format that we're used to. We then focus on Dave's incredible run through the event, going 8-0 with his innovative Astra Militarum list, before taking a narrow defeat in the finals to finish in 2nd place! (To the wonderful Innes Wilson of StatCheck - congrats!) As always, enjoy, let us know what you think and see you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik
A Blood Bowl Podcast. Topics today include The Orc Talk, Mik's Hobby Masterclass, UKTC, and the hot new game show NAF Name or Nonsense.
Hey All, Welcome back to Episode 19 of the Fireside 40K podcast hosted by Vik Vijay & David Gaylard of Team Ignite. With no Dataslate just yet (though hopefully due shortly after this episode releases!), our lists are submitted for the London Open - a 150-person Major event hosted by the UKTC. Dave's bringing his Astra Militarum and Vik his Aeldari. We run through our lists and how we've adapted to the Desolation marines that have created quite the hostile meta for both of our factions. We also go through the details on some of the strongest lists (Dark Angels, Iron Hands, Guard & Daemons) in attendance. This event has a large proportion of the best players in the UK creating a shark tank where we should expect lots of spicy pairings throughout the weekend. As always, please let us know if you have any questions or feedback and it would be hugely helpful if you leave us a comment, like or review on any of the streaming platforms you use to listen to Fireside 40K! See you by the Fireside, Dave & Vik

Here's a brand new episode and guess what... tweak is back! and this time he is talking with the pilot of the most interesting Space Marine army at the Manchester Super Major - Alex Harrison. This is the first episode of a two-parter where Alex talks about his list, his games and the tournament overall. In this part Alex provides interesting insights into his list building process and explains the "why" behind all of his unit choices. We then delve into the topic of how his list tackles certain match-ups and how it plays on UKTC tables and what gives it that competitive edge. We hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed recording it and make sure to listen to part two where we discuss the matchups and what the winning path actually was. Don't miss it! Music: Bensound
Hey all, Welcome back to Episode 16 of the Fireside 40K podcast. We've just come back from the International Team Tournament, a 320 player (64 x 5-Person Teams) event with fixed terrain each round (making the results more relevant to singles), where our team (Dice Down) came in 5th place taking our loss to the amazing Team Poland. In this episode we focus on sharing our thoughts on what we feel the strongest armies in the game are and some potential solutions on how to counter them. The 23/24 season is starting to warm up and we've got some big events coming up, Dave touches on his thoughts for the next UKTC super-major, the Southampton GT. Typhus talks with David Gaylard (Dice Down), Mitch Beard (Team Iceland) and Pumba (Team Poland) about their prep for ITT (5 man team tournament) and how much their approach to this event differs from their regular UKTC events.
Hey all, Vik and Dave back again with our main podcast series talking about the first event of our 2023 40K Season - The Internation Team Tournament (ITT). This is a huge 5-man teams event, with 320 players in attendance including multiple national teams (England, Poland & Netherlands). We're bringing a selection of our finest from Dice Down to form a team trying to cause an upset and take the event. We discuss our team and the lists that we're bringing (Dave= Astra Militarum & Vik= Aeldari) in detail, as well as go through the lists being brought by a selection of some of the top teams in attendance. The event is using fixed terrain (UKTC, with no light/heavy boards) matching their singles setup and whilst it's a team event the results should translate very well to informing the singles competitive meta! We hope you enjoy the episode and as always let us know if you have any feedback - we always listen and try to adapt to suit our audience - see you by the fireside, Vik & Dave

This brand new episod is an update on what the Polish community and the Polish NT have been up to recently. As both Nephilim and the most recent Balance Dataslate have been let-downs, we - the players - need to come up with more and more outlandish ways of entertaining ourselves and staying sane... And boy have we gone far this time when it comes to fighting boredom. Tune in to listen do us interviewing Pumba (UKTC ref, NT member) on some of the recent ideas the Polish community has been considering. They say that from boredom comes creativity and boy are we bored :D We talk about the potential for introducing UKTC and other rule sets, W/D/L and even joining ITC. Last but not least we talk about the state of some top armies and the changes that the new Guard will bring. We hope you find it enjoyable. We're back and this months special guest is the Snotling's snotling, the stunty champion, the fun in funatic, it is of course Garfy, a member of both the Geordie Blood Bowl League and one of Peo's Team mates for UKTC. What better than with such a staunch stunty supporter on the cast than to go back to our routes and revisit our top and bottom three teams in Blood Bowl. What will we pick now that we have had time to see what the updates are like and new teams have been released. You may be able to guess what some peoples answers are but hey, it's fun to discuss. Of course we have all the usual segments with Peo's corner answering all your questions and thoughts. Shipaz tells us the odds of a fantastic play he found online and you may need your calculators as well as it is time for a quiz by Shipaz and whats this, someone is caught cheating? Can this be real? Can recording a podcast episode be a kathartic experience? In the newest installment of The Road to the LGT Tomek interviews the Ying and the Yang of the UK Tournament Circuit, the duo behind 40k Fireside - Vik Vijay and David Gaylard. We hope you noticed that we try to add a theme to each of the "Road to..." episodes based on who we are interviewing. This episode is not different: we found it appropriate to ask the two top players of the UKTC about their ways of dealing with pressure of being there at the top, the pressure of others' expectations but also the pressure one puts on him/herself in the pursuit of excellence. This episode should be a joy to listen for absolutely everyone, not because this is esssentially 40k Fireside with Tomek asking questions, but because Dave and Vik open up so much and provide so much insight into the topic, that at the end they come to the conclusion that it was a proper katharsis for them. Do not miss this one! Also, let us know if you want more by liking, subscribing and helping us grow! Music: Bensound
This episode will be a treat both to players attending a massive event like the LGT for the first time as well as seasoned players who are used to the competitive setting. This time I am joined by the captain of Team Scotland - Mr. Innes Wilson - who talks about his 40k career, his most recent events (WTC & 40k Unconquerable) and the list he might be bringing to the Invitational and the LGT main event. We also delve into often times overlooked topics like building up the stamina for a multiround event and what to take into consideration when attending UKTC events like terrain and rules. Hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it. Like, subscribe and comment to help us grow! Music: Bensound
