Australian born top jockey Zac Purton is an athlete that exemplifies the definition of success via maximising mental and physical preparedness.  After moving to Hong Kong in 2007 to compete on his favourite racing stage in the world he experienced success here in the 2013/14 Hong Kong Jockey club race season he ended Douglas Whyte's 13-season dominance with his first Hong Kong jockeys' championship with an impressive 112 wins.  His second title came in 2017/18 after he halted Joao Moreira's title streak at three when Zac surged home late in the season to outpoint Moreira 136 to 134.From the 2017/18 season he went on to win three consecutive championships,  in 2019/20 with an unsurpassable 147 wins - his triumph aboard Exultant in the 2020 QEII Cup saw him become the only rider in history to have won every Group 1 race on the Hong Kong Racing calendarMore recently he closed out a  highly successful 2022/23 season, completing the campaign with an incredible 179 wins (a record number of wins in 1 season from any jockey in Hong Kong racing history) and a sixth Hong Kong Champion Jockey crown. He also reached 1,600 career wins in Hong Kong as of July, 2023.
