In the autumn of 1998, faced with a resurgent WWE and scrambling for a way to hit back in the Monday night war, WCW hired The Ultimate Warrior to join the overflowing ranks of their ageing main event scene. At Fall Brawl 1998, Warrior would make his WCW in-ring debut in that year's War Games match- one that was fought under amended rules for 1998, with 3 teams competing, but with the winner of the match gaining a WCW World Title match at the following month's Halloween Havoc. In addition, the Steiner brothers were set to do battle, Dean Malenko was up against Curt Hennig, and Raven would take on Perry Saturn in a Raven's Rules match, with the fate of The Flock on the line! The Random Wrestling Review is brought to you this week by Matt, James and Tinky.

One night. One cage. Zero WarGames. 500 matches. Yeah, this one was a bit rough to watch. Damn near every single match had a jumpstart, an afterbirth, and was heavily overbooked. Crowds for WCW were severely dwindling by this point, there was speculation over a sale for WCW, leadership was in disarray, and the whole thing was just a giant mess. Booker T at least got to defend his WCW Title against Kevin Nash in a fairly straight-forward Caged Heat match (which was literally just a cage match) to close the show and Goldberg and Scott Steiner fooled us for a minute into thinking they'd have a good match. In the news, we discuss ECW's continuing woes, someone suing Paul Heyman and RVD, WCW's backstage drama with Turner, WWF soaring in the ratings, a new fake retirement scheme for Atsushi Onita in FMW, some new wrestling promotions cropping up in America and Japan, and much more! Week 32 is here, and we had two unexpected guests that kicked off this past WWE Friday Night Smackdown. The PWI 500 was recently released, we gave our feedbacks on that list.. and last but not least it was the 30th anniversary of WCW Fall Brawl, we went back and reviewed the show and we were all cracking up while watching this show. Episode 32 is here hope you guys enjoy!
It's back to one of the worst years in wrestling, 1993! Sure, 1995 rightfully always gets the title of "worst year ever," but 1993 gave it a run for its money. There were a few shining lights on this show, like Lord Steven Regal battling it out with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat for the TV Title, Arn Anderson & Paul Roma vs. The Nasty Boys was...fine...Ric Flair defending the WCW International World Heavyweight Title (real name) against Rick Rude was decent but worse than you'd expect, and the WarGames match was...interesting. It involved Shockmaster! 'Nuff said! The rest of the card was straight garbage, though. In the news, we discuss Shawn Michaels quitting the WWF (for now), the original Doink and the Steiners leaving WWF, major court battles and drama between the NWA and WCW, ECW getting its official start, and much more! The guys welcome back Travis Lassiter (Wrestling Recommendations) to review WCW Fall Brawl 1994: War Games! We also talk about the firing of CM Punk by Tony Khan and AEW.
It's the smelly smell that smells smelly, death of WCW era, but the scent is only just starting to form. Beyond the opening matches, which features the always over Filthy Animals, the surprisingly competent ICP, Kaz Hayashi, and an insensitive gimmick, there's not much to latch on to. The Revolution bust their ass putting over has-beens, Buff screws everyone, and Hogan must be protected. WHO CAN YOU TRUST? It was one of the biggest years in professional wrestling history but this event certainly wasn't one of the highlights of it. But, much like other horrible shows, Troy & Greg have a lot of fun with this one. This show was plagued by injuries, bad booking, and a new take on the WarGames match. Let's just say...it wasn't a GOOD NEW take. Team WCW faced off against NWO Hollywood and NWO Wolfpack. The man who got the pinfall gets a WCW Title shot. At least Chris Jericho provided some highlights as he called out the World Champion and got...something. In the news, careers may be ending, Ric Flair is trying to bring his feud with WCW to a close, SummerSlam was a hit, pro wrestling is exploding all over the mainstream media, everyone is injured in ECW, and much more!ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET FUELED WITH SHOCKED ENERGY: https://shockedenergy.com/collections/all?sca_ref=1814354.mOXH7RrwKh&sca_source=MainEventMarks (promo code: MainEvent for 10% off)KEEP YOUR COFFEE GIMMICK FREE AND FRESH ROASTED TO ORDER WITH COFFEE BRAND COFFEE: https://coffeebrandcoffee.com/?ref=WC7vE0tK (promo code: MAINEVENT for 5% off)GET AWESOME SPORTS T-SHIRTS: intheclutch.com/MAINEVENT (use code "MAINEVENT" for 10% off)ORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS
