RAW is Jericho on April, 17th 2000! WWF RAW opens the show hot with Chris Jericho vs Triple H, in what was scheduled as a non-title match with Triple H defending the honor of Stephanie McMahon. Jericho verbally assaults Triple H and convinces him to put the WWF Championship on the line right now! After a referee gets bumped during the match, Earl Hebner comes in at the end of the match and counts the pin for Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho is the NEW WWF Champion, for all of 2 minutes. Triple H argues with the refs and says that Earl made a fast count and needs to reverse the decision. Earl agrees as long as Triple H doesn't mess with him while he works for the WWF. Triple H goes along with it until he gets his title back. He then fires Hebner and beats him up. Also, Linda McMahon is here with a big surprise that she won't tell anyone about. She goes into the ring and says that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be in the corner of The Rock at the Backlash against Triple H. This makes Triple H and Stephanie upset and Stephanie goes to slap her mom. However, Linda was ready and countered it by slapping her back. Afterwards, DX and Pat Patterson attack the Dudleyz and Tori hits a flying splash to Bubba Ray Dudley through a table.  Rikishi battles Kurt Angle but WWF Tag Team Champions Edge and Christian get involved leading Too Cool to make the save. WWF Hardcore Champion Crash Holly defends against The Godfather, however, one of The Godfather's Ho's pins Crash and becomes Hardcore Champ. In the autumn of 1998, faced with a resurgent WWE and scrambling for a way to hit back in the Monday night war, WCW hired The Ultimate Warrior to join the overflowing ranks of their ageing main event scene. At Fall Brawl 1998, Warrior would make his WCW in-ring debut in that year's War Games match- one that was fought under amended rules for 1998, with 3 teams competing, but with the winner of the match gaining a WCW World Title match at the following month's Halloween Havoc. In addition, the Steiner brothers were set to do battle, Dean Malenko was up against Curt Hennig, and Raven would take on Perry Saturn in a Raven's Rules match, with the fate of The Flock on the line!
