OK, the first month of January is down, let's review. And just so you know, this started very calm and then you see Ree and Mr. Red have an explosive argument. At least 30 minutes or so....woo exhausting. Anyway, so we discuss recent celebrity deaths, love island 2022, power of influencers and influence, 360 booths, who start trends, influence in life!!!! And then we go back to love island, non-binary contestants, discrimination towards coloured men, using love island fame to hustle..... and a very brief attempt at understanding NFTs.Of course if you want to hear the whole episode, please check out: https://www.patreon.com/encyclopediaofdatingRemember to listen, like and share! When you think health and safety I'm sure you're thinking of a white-glove check and rules and regulations. When I think about it... well let's just say I really consider how my emotional and mental health is being affected by the men around me. And it turns out, that me feeling safe has more and more weight as I get older. I find it challenging my standards of type and physical factors of affection, and even crossing boundaries, rules, and social norms. So how exactly does a man make me feel safe, and what does it mean for dating, moving forward?Of course if you want to hear the whole episode, please check out: https://www.patreon.com/encyclopediaofdatingRemember to listen, like and share! I went on a date this week where I felt a bit like an escort - not that there was anything sexually implied, nor was any money exchanged, but there was definitely an exchange. He was on business and wanted company for dinner (and nothing more), I had nothing better to do and wanted to go on a date with someone intelligent and attractive - and he was both. We had an amazing evening, scintillating conversation, and an abundance of fun. And that was the end of that. I'll never see him again and I'm sure we will both go on to lead wonderful and fulfilling lives. It made me think about escorts and people who do this for a living. There are so many lonely people in the world, and imagine if they could just have someone join them for dinner and a wonderful date and there was no catch to it. But the question remains, could you date an escort?Remember to listen, like and share! Send your comments, feedback and love to us on Instagram @EncyclopediaOfDating

You know one thing that never changes about us as we get older... we love playing with toys! And by toys, I mean hot, delicious, beautiful people, men, women, whatever you fancy. Many of us have been guilty of being a side chick, or side chicken (is that the term for a man? haha). It's interesting to note the difference of going into that situation knowingly vs surprise, I'm in a relationship. Remembrance Day is all about... well... remembering. So today, Mr. Red and I talk about people in our past that remember and think about. Great dates, romances, and lovers, and wishing them well wherever they are today. We also talk about international dating and the positive elements of a holiday romance, something we have both dabbled in. Finally, we consider nicknames and the best and worst of the ones we have come up with for our special peoples!Remember to listen, like and share! Oh my ghoul-ness, I love halloween! It is my absolute favourite holiday of the year and I always dress to impress. Some girls go cute, some go scary, and some make those sexual fantasies come true, with their outfits at least - I'm that girl. This halloween I was celebrating in London and the ghosts of my past all came to join me. I saw Mister D (go listen to the previous episodes about him, there are 2), there was beard (I've been talking about him since the podcast started) and there was the baby daddy...genuinely don't remember if I've discussed him. Anways, there are lots of boos as Mr Red and I discuss my Nightmare on Elm Street. This year was more tricks than treats. Remember to listen, like and share! Shall we discuss the infamous Red Table Talk that is hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith and her daughter and mother? This episode really stood out to us as it intimately discusses her and Will's sex life and we both have very strong opinions about it. We cover reading minds when it comes to sex, what we like and don't like in bed, sexual preferences, when to have the 'talk', how we rank sex and its importance, what we find attractive, a doer vs a giver, and of course, how these all impact us as a man and a woman. Today we are discussing the intricacies of the internet, joined by the wonderful and thought-provoking, Mr. Red. We look at internet dating amongst men and women. What happens in the early days, why there is so much sexual context, return on investment, trial and errors, motives, post nut clarity, sending dik pics, bums or boobs, body dysmorphia, age limitations, pornography, anonymity on the internet, internet friendships, and the rules for kids on the internet. Another exciting episode with my friend Mr Red, we dig into an array of topics including: Condescending conversations, closure, the crazies, making friends off dating sites, male and female friendships, why getting ghosted hurts, drinking and driving, socializing alone, RBF (if you know you know), and how our decisions impact our dating life!Remember to listen, like and share! On today's episode we discuss the importance of time in life – or perhaps the waste of time. How long should you be talking to someone before meeting them? A week? 2 weeks? 3 weeks? It's difficult to quantify the importance of time as it is so individual to each person. For some of us (like me) I prefer meeting the person first to see if there is chemistry...for others (like Mr Red) he likes to build a bond through conversation before meeting the person. Am I just too shallow? Is he just too focused on personality? At the end of the day, we're both single so what do we really know???Remember to listen, like and share! I'm going to drop the bomb quicktime on this one. Could you be a stay at home dad? Could you date a stay at home dad? Could you MARRY a stay at home dad? Well well well, lovers and friends, covid means that sometimes we have to record over the internet and thus this episode with my dear friend S has some static and feedback. Haha apologies, but hopefully once you start listening it's not that difficult. Anyway, so with all the ups and downs with dating, first dates can always be quite tricky. There are a lot of nerves, a lot of contemplation, a lot of preparation... so when you get catfished, that can be somewhat annoying, but you know what's worse??? So much worse??? Getting stood up!!! Ugh, sigh, and several curse words later, here is my issue with getting stood up. Listen and weep with me. Remember to listen, like and share! First of all, I want to apologize sincerely for how often I say 'like' in this episode, I was trying to edit it and it annoyed me so much, I can only imagine how much it will annoy the listeners. I apologize, and I will do better. Anyway, I am recording this episode with one of my closest friends S, and she knows me very well and I call her my personal cheerleader, and it was so much fun doing so. It's really more of a catch-up conversation vs an actual podcast. But I remember way back when I used to say that I would never date a guy with kids. And I think my stereotypes and my own negative connotations prevented me from doing so....meeting a well-educated, hard-working, kind, romantic, attractive and engaging father (of 3) has really changed my perspective on dating men with kids. So this doesn't mean he is the one or that we are living happily ever after, but he has definitely opened up my eyes and mind to dating men with children. Remember to listen, like and share! Today we introduce you to Mr Red, a new friend, a new host, and hopefully a permanent fixation on the podcast – I know you're all tired of hearing guest voices and not knowing who they are (soz). Today we discuss should we all get therapy – broken bonds in friendships, talking to strangers, friendships ending because of relationships, how to choose the right therapist, positive and negative therapy, can friends be therapists, crying as a workout, living through negative emotions, investing into mental health.Remember to listen, like and share! Ok here's the deal, relationships are at the core of everything, and us single folk, are going on a lot of dates trying to figure this out. We are using dating apps, going on blind dates, getting set up, sliding into DMs, and then some. 500 dates later, you better believe we have a few stories to tell. So sit back and relax, as Mr Red and Ree take you on a journey of swiping, catfishing, hatfishing, ghosting, getting stood up, grammar battles, race issues, and a few love stories sprinkled in for fun.We all love a good dating story, and we have an encyclopedia full of them!
Ok, first of all, I need to genuinely apologize for the number of times I say 'like' in this episode. I started editing it and it was so overwhelming that it made me sick. LIKE come on. I am sorry, I know it's annoying, I'll try to do better, Right, so this episode is about guys whose egos can't handle losing, what makes you feel (or doesn't make you feel) like a man, ghosting, self-improvement, traditional values, cultural disappoints, self-sabotage, dating protocol, marriage deadlines, and the difference between dating older and younger guys. What can be said about gut instincts...In Malcolm Gladwell's fascinating bestseller Blink, he describes many situations where you do your best thinking when you don't think at all. But he also shows plenty of scenarios where your instincts are way off. What does the research say? How do you know when to trust your gut — and when not to? You can trust your intuition… Sometimes....You make up your mind about someone in 100 milliseconds. Literally. And more often than not, you're right. In just five minutes you can often evaluate people with approximately 70% accuracy. So today we discuss Toronto and London post covid, and what is likely to happen in social circles and dating pools. And then we look at a specific dating scenario in which a certain someone did not trust their gut instincts, and what came to be...Remember to listen, like and share! I've been dating a long time! Well over a decade, coming up to 2, so I've had a lot of interesting experiences with men, some good, some bad, all interesting. It is rare that anything really surprises me or leaves me speechless. The other day I was on Tinder, having a stimulating conversation with a man, when he asked for my phone number to switch over to a call. I realized I hadn't asked him much about himself. So I asked about work and school and marriage and kids... and he answered everything...but when we got to the kids part...he was like umm...I don't really know how to tell you this.... but.....Remember to listen, like and share! I had an interesting date this week.... the guy had surgery, well cosmetic surgery, he had a beard transplant. This was a really tough episode for me to record, really, really tough. I know this is a dating podcast, and I know I'm open about a lot, especially about my dating life...but I tend to keep sex out of it. I can discuss sex as a topic and generically, and likes and dislikes, but I don't really get into my personal sex life, nor the details of it. This episode is me having sex with someone when I really shouldn't have. I was in a bad place mentally, a horrible place emotionally, and what I needed was support. And I sought out intimacy. It really messed me up. This is my truth. Remember to listen, like and share! Send your comments, feedback and love to us on Instagram @EncyclopediaOfDating
Ah yes, February 14th, the infamous day where we celebrate love. Personally, I have never been a fan of Valentine's Day, I always thought it was too forced, too fake, too commercial, and too lovey dovey. Not that I have anything against flowers and chocolate, I mean I'm the biggest fan of flowers! So this year, like the rest of the world, being in a pandemic has really changed my opinion on things. The Doc and I look at how Covid has forced us to embrace our alone time, our thoughts, and perhaps even our views on love. Influencer (noun): the power to affect the purchasing decisions of others because of his or her authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with his or her audience. Also, a following in a distinct niche, with whom he or she actively engages. You can love them or hate them, agree or disagree, and deny or accept this as a viable career choice. But those 6 figure salaries, social media departments, and millions of followers cannot be ignored. Influencers are here to stay. I have always believed in soulmates, and I truly, deeply, madly believe that I have experienced love (once) in my life. And that heartbreak and wound has left a permanent scar in my heart and my life. And so when and if I find Mr forever, I hope he accepts me with this scar. Since that breakup in 2010, I have never dated someone with the same name because I honestly can't utter it or say it out loud. But it's 2021, and it has been over a decade, and making changes is important in moving on. And I am really trying, I promise I am. So to go out with someone with that name, was so hard on my heart. But I did it. And he hurt me. So I'm closing off that name for another 10 years. That is all.Remember to listen, like and share! Chances are, that if you have been single in the last decade, you've probably tried a dating app. Well me... I've tried all of them. I started on my laptop with the likes of POF, Match, and Eharmony. And then came the great and mighty tinder, from there it was the abyss of bumble, happn, hinge, and every other dating app imaginable. I have been swiping for years, people have been swiping on me for years. I got a notification from tinder that I had gotten over 25000 'swipes right' yet I am still single? Some might say I am picky, some might say I am delusional, some might say I have standards.... however the doctor speculates that there is a lot more to online dating than just swiping right or left. In this two-part series, we discuss the importance of selecting your profile pictures, what can be eye catching, and what can be seriously off puting. How language and filling out your bio has an impact. The impact of spelling and grammar. We even get into our own dating profiles and read them out verbatum.
