When faced with a breast cancer diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and reconstruction options, Becky Johnson was unequivocal: she wanted the cancer out, and she wanted to minimize the need for additional surgeries. She opted for an aesthetic flat closure after her double mastectomy. She never expected that this decision would take her from the world of real estate to creating a whole new line of fashion for the flat community. When Becky discovered that no clothes truly honored a woman's decision to go flat, she decided to take on the challenge with her friend and designer, Tracy Friden. Together, they created Flatware Clothing, a company that creates fabulous and feminine clothes for women who choose to go flat. We explore body image, femininity, the need for greater awareness, and the role fashion plays in making us feel good in the skin we're in. Send Julie a text!!Meredith Wing creates whimsical, gorgeous, fashion-forward mixed media artwork using food and flowers. Whether it's a coconut wedding dress, a broccoli crop top with matching earrings, rainbow-colored pasta capris, or a dusty-rose-petal skirt, these illustrations are of women who are not only living their best lives, but they're doing it with immense style.Meredith has an incredible gift for allowing us to see the mundane, or the healthy snack or a gorgeous bouquet, in a whole new way that we couldn't have imagined before. She has acted as Artist-in-Residence at Soho House for Coachella 2015, done Herbal Essences TV commercials and ads, created limited-edition packaging for Burt's Bee's, graced the walls of Tokyo public plazas, assembled bespoke portraits for Tory Burch, adorned the interior of Cosabella's NYC store, and landed features in international publications. While she has always loved art from a young age, she initially pursued careers in fashion design and architecture before creating her company, Moomooi, and realizing she could make a career out of making her unique style of original art.Meredith Wing - GuestMoomooi IG accountMoomooi websiteJulie Berman - Podcast Host & ProducerJulie Berman's LinkedIn Profile@womencooljobs (Instagram)www.womenwithcooljobs.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I absolutely LOVE being the host and producer of "Women with Cool Jobs", where I interview women who have unique, trailblazing, and innovative careers. Dare to bead fashionably hot! Fashionistas are going to extreme lengths to get their hands on the unlikely must-have fashion accessory: beaded handbags. But it's not something you can find online easily, if at all. In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Friday, New York City Police Commissioner Edward Caban resigned, one week after it emerged that his phone was seized as part of a federal investigation that touched several members of Mayor Eric Adams' inner circle. New York City lawmakers approved legislation to study the city's significant role in slavery and consider reparations to descendants of enslaved people. And in the American West, aircraft assembly workers walked off the job at Boeing factories near Seattle and elsewhere after union members voted overwhelmingly to go on strike and reject a tentative contract that would have increased wages by 25% over four years.

In the fourth episode and season finale, I look at the most recent cinematic adaptation of The Women from 2008. After giving details about the production, I provide some reviews of the film at the time. I also briefly speak about the 1977 adaptation "Frauen in New York," which I was unable to view. In the second part of the episode, I am joined by Shayna as we discuss various aspects of the film and ask the big question of whether it is feminist or misogynist. As always, I conclude the discussion with revealing whether the film follows the law or the spirit of The Women.
