Sharla Stevens and The Ancestors, M. Ed
No one talks about hyper sexuality. For many neurodivergent folks, our brains can make us horny af! For me, it can happen every spring and sometimes right before I menstruate. In this episode I share my experiences with hyper sexuality and how I've had to learn to accept it as a part of my Neurospicy brain and also act responsibility, consensually and ethically.
Many of us exist in a constant state of burnout. We often take for granted the impact of this urgent lifestyle on our system. In this episode I talk about how increasing sleep and reducing stress has added years to my life. For Black women these are two things you can commit to that will may the quality of your life significantly better.
The biggest issue with a mental illness diagnosis isn't the diagnosis itself. It's the shame and guilt about the diagnosis. Once I started giving myself more grace and compassion and stopped blaming myself for my neurodivergence, it became a lot easier to accept and treat my conditions. I hope this episode helps someone else do the same.
I'm tired of men and their sexist bullshit. In this episode I break down how men dehumanize women and why so many women chose the BEAR! Men who don't get it, pull up. Men need to lead other men out of the darkness. We shouldn't have to live in fear of men!
It's easy to feel like you need to manipulate your circumstances and control your world. However, I invite you to surrender your agenda to the higher agenda. You are a part of the whole. You have limited perspective. You can't see the full picture. Trust in a higher power that has your best interest at heart. Learn how to be present and not live in the past or future. Trust that you can be here now. And if you need more support, book a free call and let's make it happen! Also thank you so much for your years of support from all over the world! And I'd love to hear from you. Leave me a message. I'm a human design projector- I need the feedback :)
Most Neurospicy Black women will never know they're Neurospicy. They'll think that their inability to play by society's rules and “Adult” is a character flaw. Black women are less likely to think they may have a brain issue.

Entrepreneurship saved my life. It allowed me to shape my work schedule according to my energy levels and way my unique brain works. It's easy to feel like a failure as an Black Neurodivergent woman living in a world created for white neurotypical men! When we try to do things in a way that doesn't work for us, we burn out. In fact, we are more susceptible to burn out because of the added burden of constantly trying to mask our symptoms and be a “culture fit”. I knew if I didn't learn how to earn a good income on my own terms, I was going to end up unhoused, drug addicted or dead. Thank God I found a way to survive in my terms. As a result, I haven't had a bipolar episode in 20 months! Entrepreneurship can be a lifesaver. Follow me on eventbrite to attend one of many Free Live Online classes. This episode is dedicated to the neurodivergent community. As someone who lives with bipolar 2, it was only after I established my own business centered around my wellbeing that I've been able to be stable without prescription medication. In my first year as a consultant, I cleared 6 figures in 10 months working only 25 hours a week! I'd never made more in my life and I believe it was because I was able to work with my disorder instead of in spite of it.

All white people contribute to the horrors of white supremacy. No white person is exempt from being held akkkountable. This episode begins with an encounter I had with my racist neighbor who is literally named “Karen” living up to her name. As a white liberal, she mistakenly believes she is somehow not part of the white supremacist problem. My exchange with her embodies the predictable responses whiteness provides when held accountable. White people learn what NOT to do and accept your responsibility in undoing racism. Black people, listen and feel the validation. Then take a life saving nap!
I know of three educators who either attempted suicide or were suicidal within the last two weeks. I was one of those educators. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for youth age 10-24. Suicide rates for Black girls has risen over 180% in the last 15 years. Our medical institutions, like our educational institutions, lack cultural competency. This is deadly to historical excluded communities. ☠️In this episode, I share my personal struggles with my bipolar 2 diagnosis and why we all need to de-stigmatize mental health issues. Until we as a society come clean about our mental health struggles, our children will pay the price. Because I am committed to the wellness of our youth, I am putting my story out there. I hope others will be inspired to do the same. Silence kills.

Hello Beautiful People! What if there were enough Antiracist millionaire educators to fund the creation of proBlack, anti-white supremacy, inclusive schools that didn't rely on government funding? What if we could pay our teachers a minimum of 6 figures? What if we taught our students of color to become entrepreneurs and stop trying to assimilate into white supremacist kulture? ✊
In this episode I talk about my mental health journey, creating a lifestyle the works for me, critical race theory and Juneteenth. Some days I question if this work even matters. Since I'm hated and hunted in Amerikkka, wouldn't my time be better spent trying to live my life to the fullest? Is anyone listening? Is anything changing? Does this work matter? Will doing this work kill me? Will not doing this work kill me? When I die will anyone give a fuck? Does my life matter? Will my people ever know peace in this life? Will I? Will it always feel this hopeless? I don't have answers. Only more questions.
In this episode I cover:
I know that's a hard pill to swallow but until we face the truth, we can't heal it. White teachers are conditioned to perpetuate white supremacy and anti-blackness. The reason why our students of color are failing school is because the presence of whiteness works against the success and well being of non white students. Because our schools are saturated in white ppl, we can't see the presence of white supremacy in our schools. White teachers view children of color from a deficit mindset. Listen as I explain how whiteness is devastating for our students of color and how white teachers can do less harm if they insist on being teachers. The average white American was educated in these white supremacist schools where they are taught white is superior. They have an extremely limited understanding of race, racism and white supremacy and how it all works together. They exists in other 90% white communities where these false ideas go unchallenged and white supremacy and antiblackness is reinforced. That being said, the average white person has no working definition of racism or white supremacy but insists on calling me racist for calling out racism! SMH that's not how any of this works! But that is exactly how white supremacy works. White arrogance has these ppl thinking they can challenge my lived experience and years of study. To hell with facts. White is ALWAYS right!

While some Asian communities recognize the damages of white supremacy all the time, there are others who only fight when they are targeted. It is painfully obvious that white violence makes no exceptions for the “model minority” Black people fought and died to make sure this kkkountry lives up to its promises of equality and equal access to resources and yet not only do many Asian and immigrant communities not know that history, they also actively participate in antiblackness. Before people know how to say hello in English, they know how to say the n -word bc hating Black people is a key part of assimilation into Amerikkka. We need to address the harm done when people of color refuse to address the antiblackness in their communities and their participation in systems that are deadly to ALL of us. I hope this raw and real episode allows us to work towards healing and collaboration. As usual, I don't hold back. The Ancestors won't allow me to mince words! “How do I talk to my kids about the Capitol?” “How do I talk to my students about white supremacy?” It's easier than you think. In this episode, you'll hear me talking to my first and third grade children about white supremacy and what happened at he Capitol. Granted my family and I have been talking like this for years, but what I hope to demonstrate is the capacity of children to understand complicated topics. Use topics they understand. Make it plain and do your best to make sense of it from THEIR perspective. Ask lots of questions. And understand their attention span, like yours, is limited. My son tends to be more emotionally affected when we have these talks, so also pay attention when it's time to wrap it up and give your kids time to be kids. These talks aren't easy, but unfortunately they are very necessary. Too often STEM teachers think they are exempt in the conversation about Antiracism. They tend to think of their subjects as “race neutral”. In this episode I discuss how even science and math teachers have a responsibility to incorporate anti-racist curriculum and de-centering of whiteness within their curriculum. STEM is the future. As a native of Silicon Valley, the tech jobs are still overwhelming occupied by white and Asian men. When we do not highlight all the millions of contributions to STEM by historical excluded groups, students default way of thinking is that it must have come from a white man. It should be basic knowledge that Black ppl invented the gps system, remote control, air conditioning, refrigeration, smoke detectors, gas mask, blood bank, etc., but it's not bc STEM believes it's race neutral. Our students need to see themselves in the curriculum. Our girls need access to STEM curriculum. No subject is exempt as we eradicate white supremacy from our schools. Let me explain once and for all how reverse racism does not exist! No matter how many black people hate white people it will never equate to 400 years of slavery and another 155 of racism and oppression. In addition you simply cannot expect a brutalized community to not have anger towards those inflicting brutality. Let me break it down so we never have to discuss this fallacy again. New segments! I will pay Respect to The Ancestors, honor a Youth Activist, Ashton Mota , highlight a Black Business “Richly Balanced Shea Butter” and share my Tool of the Day “When Affirmative Action was White”!
