Jesus calls us, his followers, to come together, live together, and serve together in church community. In one of his most famous prayers shortly before his crucifixion, Jesus prayed that we who follow him down through the ages would live, work, and serve together in unity "as one." The early Christians did that with amazing success. This Sunday we'll study a passage of Scripture that gives us insight into how they did it -- and how we today can apply those lessons to build a diverse, safe, and inclusive church community together.

In this episode of the "Science of Abundance Daily Alchemy" podcast, host Sean Clayton explores the intersection of racism, spirituality, and personal responsibility. He begins by reflecting on a movie he watched that delved into the Trayvon Martin case, prompting him to consider how individuals can take responsibility for societal structures like the caste system. Clayton discusses how the caste system, as explored by author Isabel Wilkerson, operates not only externally but also within individuals, shaping how they perceive themselves and others. He draws parallels between historical events like the Holocaust and modern-day societal divisions, emphasizing the role of legal structures in perpetuating inequality. The host encourages listeners to examine their own internal "caste systems," identifying areas of neglect or imbalance within themselves. He stresses the importance of holistic self-care and self-awareness, highlighting how personal healing can contribute to societal transformation. Furthermore, Clayton explores the concept of cause and effect, urging listeners to approach self-care from a place of love rather than fear or guilt. He emphasizes the interconnectedness of personal and collective healing, advocating for a shift towards peace and intentionality in navigating societal challenges. In conclusion, Clayton expresses gratitude to the audience and hints at future episodes where he will delve deeper into the themes explored in Isabel Wilkerson's work, aiming to empower listeners to love themselves and others more deeply.

JD Mass, PsyD, releases his book, Race for What? A White Man's Journey & Guide to Healing Racism from Within. Mass tells the story of growing up in a Black community and witnessing racism firsthand, as well as his successes and missteps in building powerful alliances with the community in which he was raised. Part memoir, part how-to, and entirely real, this masterfully woven book takes readers back in time to St. Louis in the 80s and 90s, when Mass was growing up with a circle of creative friends and influences. The talent he bonded with, such as the rapper Nelly, would set the stage for a life of music, religion, culture, community development, and politics. Mass says, “I have been on a lifelong journey to learn why racism was created and what we can look forward to without it. Change is happening. Will it be the superficial change that doesn't bring forth justice or the transformational healing that is needed? Race for What? provides a vision for the latter.” Race for What? provides stories with a unique perspective from a white man's experience and illustrates seven steps to healing. Mass encourages white people to work through the emotional and psychological obstacles in order to repair and heal the harm racism has caused. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/politicsdoneright/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/politicsdoneright/support

Books That Make You Understand Healing Racism, Within & Without Our age appears increasingly polarized, leaving many to ask what might be done to further heal relations between black, white and brown people? Can we open our hearts, minds and souls, and ask ourselves just what exactly are we racing for? Author and psychologist JD Mass was a white kid who attended to largely black school in St. Louis, MO. His parents were intent on raising him in a diverse community, where he could experience different cultures, as well as the problem of racism. Later, JD would thrive in schools that were 85 to 93% black.   In 2017, he received his doctorate in Organizational Psychology, and became heavily involved in anti-racist groups in Los Angeles, and later in St. Louis.  Today, JD consolidates his experiences and message in his debut book, Race for What? Easy-to-access exercises to aid healing include journal writing, art therapy, Buddhist and shamanic meditations, and ancestral lineage rituals. We talk about How childhood shaped his views about raceHis witnessing the murder of a young black boy: how that experience changed himThe importance of expressing multicultural gratitudeHow to heal racial trauma with ReikiHow racism can infect your DNAHow to heal your lineage of racismThe Maharishi Effect This book is not a guilt book regarding race. Instead, it is the experience of an expert healer who dealt with sexual abuse, murders, and pedophiles as a child. Brett shares how he healed his racial wounds using his spirituality and passes that energy on to anyone willing to heal their life of extreme low vibrational energy. Brett shows us how to heal without racial bashing, blaming, or feeling guilt from what has happened in the past. He presents a clear and concise method to clear racist thoughts and actions for a better world. Reiki master Brett Bevell is the author of several books, including Psychic Reiki and Reiki for Spiritual Healing. In addition, he regularly teaches at premier holistic venues, including the Omega Institute. In Healing Racism Within, Bevell shares insights essential to his personal transformation and haunting stories from his childhood, including trauma, sexual abuse, and growing up within a racist community. www.brettbevell.com

Welcome back to a brand new season of The Fierce Authenticity Podcast! We begin this new season with a bang. In today's episode, Shirani is joined by Milagros Phillips. Milagros is delivering transformative programs and creating space to engage in difficult conversations. From corporate leaders to members of Congress, Milagros designs strategic learning programs for clients seeking to enhance equity and inclusion by adding race literacy to their EI initiatives.  Today, Shirani and Milagros dive deep into the topic of healing racism and Milagros generously shares her story, parts of herself and her process, her journey as well as what makes healing racism so important in our world.  In today's episode, we cover: ●     Healing racism is a personal journey●     Racism is a problem for people of color, it is not the problem of people of color●     We are enough to transform a dysfunctional system ●     The work of healing racism is the work of relationships●     We're supposed to be learning from one another, everyone has gifts to offer Quotes [00:12:10] It always ultimately comes down to our relationships: with ourselves, with Source and with others and how everything that we have experienced impacts us on a personal and interpersonal level. [00:18:15] I look at racism from the perspective of the family model, the dysfunctional family model, because we're one human family, right? And you may not like the cousins, but they're still your cousins. It is what it is. [00:18:51] Racism is a white problem. Racism is a problem for people of color, it is not the problem of people of color. So, whites have to solve the racism piece. [00:31:10] And that also goes for white people, because they think that only people of color have been victimized by racism, they don't realize that they're oppressed too, it's just that their oppression is hidden behind privilege so they don't even see it. And neither does anybody else.  [00:43:41] The work of racism is the work of relationships. [00:51:12] Do the work, you're worthy. You're more than worthy of clearing this stuff, so that you can find that essence of love of all humanity that lives inside of you  Relevant Links:Milagros Phillips Cracking the Healer's Code: A Prescription for Healing Racism and Finding Wholeness by Milagros Phillips Join Milagros on Instagram, Facebook and YouTubeRecovery from Everyday Racisms by Clarence Earl WilliamsSupport Fierce Authenticity 2.0: Supremacy's Impact on our RelationshipsLinks:To connect with us on the complimentary private newsletter community, be sure to visit www.fierceauthenticity.com/connectInstagram: @shiranimpathakFacebook: @ShiraniMPathakFor a transcript of this episode visit www.fierceauthenticity.com/blogDonate to the work:Shirani on PayPal*Some links may be affiliate links.  I may earn a small commission. The thing about white privilege is that white people don't see it.  “White privilege” doesn't mean your life hasn't been hard, it simply means that your skin color isn't one of the things making it harder. This series is meant to share experiences of real people who have experienced racism and still experience it. The goal is to shine a light so that we ALL see it and take actionable steps to do something about it. Audrye is a spiritual clairvoyant consultant and use various media – readings, healings, online courses, seminars, books, art, presentations, Enagic Kangen water – to catalyze you beyond the gap into your higher Sself. Known as The Transformation Catalyst and Diversity Expander, I am a Channel of Light, longtime vegetarian, mostly raw vegan, Kangen Water Enthusiast, and dancer, with a rollicking sense of humor.      To thrive now, we have to operate beyond third-dimensional vibration and live at a higher frequency.  My work as a Channel MORPHs you into higher consciousness.  As a Transformation Catalyst, Diversity Expander, I deal with the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, energetic, financial realms. They are available in originals or giclees, prints on canvas or metal.  I happily take commissions.       Enagic Kangen Water hydrates, alkalinizes and releases acid waste, enabling the body to do its job and often heal itSself. #009There is a call for ally-ship in transforming racism in our world right now, that is deep, loud, and finally being heard in the white community. However, many White people are hesitating to take action, uncertain about the most effective and conscious ways to step up, speak out, and take thoughtful action to help end centuries of injustice, oppression, and violence.Often, in conversations about racism we remain silent because we're afraid of:Saying something that might reveal our unconscious biases.Afraid of getting caught not knowing what we don't know.Afraid of offending our friends and colleagues of color.Afraid of offending our White friends and family by challenging racist comments out for fear of losing these relationships and breaking white solidarity. To help guide us through these challenges so we can show up as true allies — and actively participate in a global transformation who's time as come  — is my guest Kimberlee Williams, a diversity, equity and inclusion  consultant and coach. Here Are Some Key Things We Discussed: Understanding what white supremacy IS and what it's NOT. (Hint: it's  not a "White" problem but -something that implicitly lives in everyone (regardless of race) who lives in a White-centric culture.  Becoming aware of our own implicit racial bias, getting over the need to be "perfect" and learning  why it's inevitable that White people will inadvertently say things to offend People of Color.3 simple and essential steps White people can take when this happens to step out of shame and defensiveness and use these uncomfortable moments as opportunities to re-build trust and forge deeper connections with Black people/People of Color.  Learning how we interpret what it means to "care" very differently according to our cultural norms and how knowing and responding compassionately to these differences is an essential  to re-building trust across the racial divide.  Episode Notes:  Kimberlee's Website:  Engaging Across DifferenceContact Kimberlee at engagingacrossdifference@gmail.comBooks Kimberlee mentioned: White Fragility by Robin DiAngeloMy Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa ManakemTo learn more about your host Penny Rosenzweig To learn more about our practitioners and Roots and Wings Healing ArtsRate Review and Subscribe on Apple Podcasts!"I am really enjoying the Taproot Podcasts. 035 – The real solution to racism is to love like Jesus did. There is no skin color in heaven. Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, "flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven." (1 Corinthians 15:50)Jesus said we should love our neighbors as ourselves. When on earth are we going to learn what that means and then do it?In this episode, I talk about healing the anger and fear in our people's hearts. Your prayers are powerful healing agents in the world today. You may never know the good you're doing. The healing of racism is not going to come from legislation, demonstrations, protests and so many of the ways people are responding to the death of George Floyd. As important as these responses may be, they will only be effective if they motivated by a deep spiritual love. If the love is missing, all those efforts at reform will miss the mark.To conclude this week's episode, I share a poem called, "Teach Me to Love" written back in 1908 by Louise Wheatley Cook Hovnanian. To download a PDF of the poem go to the shownotes at thebiblespeakstoyou.com/035.
