Today's conversation left a deep impression on me, that I am still unpacking. I had the opportunity to speak with Ean Wood about men's relationship to sexuality—an often-sensitive topic for many men and those supporting them. We explored themes like responsibility around male sexuality, the subconscious impact of pornography, and the way sex can be used as validation. Ian brought an insightful perspective, along with practical support through his program, Sexual Reset. This program is designed to help individuals confront these stories, develop healthy awareness, and create a more intentional journey around sexuality. It's a powerful conversation about healing, community, and growth. ~Obeisance ~ Connect with Ean Wood Instagram I @EanWood Website I EanWood.com Email I Ean@EanWood.com Mankind Project Sexual Reset Training Embodiment 101 Connect with Adam Riehl Website I AdamRiehlHealing.com Facebook I facebook.com/adamriehlhealing Instagram I @adamriehlhealing Youtube I youtube.com/user/adamriehl/videos Email I adamriehl1@gmail.com Another Podcast by Adam Riehl I Zen and Not Zen Adam Yoga & Sound Baths I beoneyogastudio.com I blissyogastudios.org Subscribe and Share Anchor Breaker Google Podcasts Apple Podcasts Pocket Casts RadioPublic Spotify --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/adam-riehl7/support
For a long time, I dodged the “big questions” in life—not because I wasn't curious, but because I didn't know how to approach them. As the years went by, I found myself more intrigued by the questions themselves—not to find definitive answers, but to explore what it means to even ask them. In this episode, I'm joined by Peter Boland, a seasoned expert in philosophy, spirituality, and mythology. Together, we dive into thought-provoking topics like embracing your passions, breaking free from the pressure to monetize everything you do, and much more. Today's topic is one I used to feel uneasy about, but I'm starting to see it as part of the growth journey. We're talking about backsliding. It can be so disheartening to feel like you're making great strides forward, only to catch yourself slipping back into old patterns or habits you thought you'd left behind. But do we ever truly “get past” something? Or is it more about finding ways to integrate these challenging experiences and lessons into the life we're consciously creating? I'm excited to bring back a close brother who has been a big part of my healing journey, Cameron Nagashima. Today, we delved into the profound concepts of creating and holding safe spaces. With the diverse modalities we both practice and have experienced, we approach these essential aspects of the healing process in many ways. But what do "creating safe spaces" and "holding space" truly mean? We often talk about how we establish and maintain these spaces, but it ultimately boils down to a feeling. Do you feel secure and supported in the environment you're in, allowing you to engage in the deep work you need to do? True healing begins when this sense of safety is genuinely felt. Creating a safe space involves more than just physical surroundings; it encompasses emotional and psychological dimensions, where one can express themselves without fear or judgment. Holding space is about being present and offering unconditional support, ensuring that the person feels valued and heard. As we explore these concepts, Cameron and I reflect on our practices and experiences. We aim to foster environments where healing can flourish, grounded in the assurance that you are safe and held. It's within these nurturing spaces that the transformative journey of healing begins. ~Obeisance~ Connect with Cameron Nagashima Website I EmpoweredSelf.Life Website I CamoLionheartPhoto.com Instagram I @Cam.Naga Instagram I @Cam.Naga.Photo Email I Support@EmpoweredSelf.Life Connect with Adam Riehl Website I AdamRiehlHealing.com Facebook I AdamRiehlHealing Instagram I @AdamRiehlHealing Youtube I @JourneyOfTheModernSoul Email I AdamRiehl1@Gmail.com Another Podcast by Adam Riehl I Zen and Not Zen Subscribe and Share Anchor Breaker Google Podcasts Apple Podcasts Pocket Casts RadioPublic Spotify --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/adam-riehl7/support

Join us on today's episode as we welcome back Jason Donaldson to delve into the world of meditation. In our conversation, we aim to demystify this practice that often feels overwhelming or inaccessible. It's about embracing meditation in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to your own journey, rather than conforming to preconceived notions. However, we also acknowledge the potential pitfalls of our peaceful practices. While meditation can offer profound benefits, there's a danger of using it as a means of escape or avoidance. Finding balance is key—a balance that's unique to each individual and their specific goals. I love talking with Aiua Wild. She beautifully holds space, makes you feel heard and speaks in a way that can make the esoteric feel more approachable. Today's conversation was supposed to be about something completely different than where it went. But that's the beautiful thing about being present in an unscripted conversation. Sometimes we veer and keep on veering. Today we veered towards finding your happiness, the dangers of comparing yourself to others and embracing your own emotional spectrum. We are all living our own human experience. Sometimes it's nice to know others are also trying to find ways to forgive themselves and integrate the painful lessons we've learned in life. Having conversations about life with others can help us feel connected and could help us find an answer we didn't even know we were looking for. She educates us on how careful people working in the field of Complimentary Alternative Medicines (CAM) or Energy Worker's have to be with what they offer, what verbiage they use and how laws and regulatory boards differ from state to state. As the CAM practices gain more acceptance as valid modalities in the west, I can imagine we will start seeing more attempts at regulation, if you're not experiencing them already. About a year ago, I experienced a type of A/V Entrainment prior to my monthly float therapy and it was amazing! But since then, I haven't been able to find a practitioner who offers this modality. Well today, I'm talking with Teresa Eggleston about her offerings, which include A/V Entrainment, Lifespan Integration and Body Based Trauma therapies. We explore the levels of trauma that we can experience and how even a seemingly positive life can have hidden traumas wrapped up in it that we need to find and unpack. We live in a very thought based world and sometimes don't even realize that we've disassociated from our bodies. These modalities can help you create a stronger bond with the Self and show us how to get back in our bodies. The Hero's Journey is a fantastic archetypical story that shows up throughout life, but has been portrayed in stories from books to movie screens for as long as we can see. But don't forget that you're living a hero's journey. Just because most people wouldn't pay to see whether or not you decide to answer the life changing call to take a new job or to start a new relationship, doesn't mean they aren't pivotal points to the person living the life. So today, Peter Bolland is joining me again to share his insights in the Hero's Journey. We walk through the 3 main stages and overlay ancient stories, pop culture and our own personal experiences to show how you could utilize this as a tool. Plants and fungus seem to have a symbiotic way of supporting us in our journey. From flower essences to tinctures, herbs fresh or dry, we can draw on these beings to help us up or down regulate our systems. Our body is extremely intelligent, constantly sending us messages and signals, even if we aren't aware of them. Finding ways to listen to your body and these signals can be hard if you've grown up in a culture or society that doesn't teach us how to listen to or even be aware of them. A lot of us have a hard time understanding and holding space for ourselves when strong emotions or bodily sensations arise. This is why I love people like Ben Dorfman. Ben is an author and self proclaimed healer masquerading as an acupuncturist. In todays chat we discuss Ben's book, The Highly Intelligent Body, and his personal healing journey with depression. Many beautiful topics were sparked from Ben's book and through discovering more about his work. A few take aways for me from our conversation revolved around remembering, or re-membering. As we find things that we are excited about in life, are we discovering them for the first time, or are we remembering them from a previous life and rediscovering a hidden passion? And through that process of remembering, are we re-membering ourselves? Putting ourselves, our journey, our spiritual being back together? We also speak to non sexual intimacy and how every person in your life can hold a level of intimacy with you, and you with them, that is completely unique to that human and your relationship with them. If we aren't listening to our bodies, we could be ignoring one of the most important tools in our tool kit. I love when new information comes in to challenge my teachings or the current narrative in my mind and Yogi Aaron is just that kind of guy. Aaron has spent 30 plus years studying the ancient teachings of yoga as well as modern and scientific practices that promote pain-free living on all levels of self — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Through this journey, Aaron has developed a new philosophy of practicing yoga called Applied Yoga Anatomy Muscle Activation. This practice teaches us to stop stretching, because stretching may be causing more problems than it is helping. So how do we integrate this new information, as a teacher and as a practitioner? That's where the real journey happens. How can you take potentially contradictory knowledge to what you have been taught and practicing, to see how, or if, you can integrate it into your practice? In todays exchange, Aaron talks to us about why stretching is bad for you and how we can shift the paradigm of stretching in yoga to focus more on the activation of the agonist or contracting muscle, rather than the lengthening of the antagonist or muscle that is being lengthened. This was a very informative conversation for me that has left me a lot to marinate on. ~Obeisance~ Connect with Yogi Aaron Website I YogiAaron.com Facebook I @Yogi.Aaron.Yoga Instagram I @Yogi_Aaron YouTube I @YogiAaron Podcast I Stop Stretching Books by Yogi Aaron Connect with Adam Riehl Website I AdamRiehlHealing.com Facebook I facebook.com/adamriehlhealing Instagram I @adamriehlhealing Youtube I youtube.com/user/adamriehl/videos Email I adamriehl1@gmail.com Another Podcast by Adam Riehl I Zen and Not Zen Adam Sound Bath Events I AdamRiehlHealing.com/Events Subscribe and Share Anchor Breaker Google Podcasts Apple Podcasts Pocket Casts RadioPublic Spotify --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/adam-riehl7/support

Summer is beautiful time in the PNW. And with that lovely weather, comes outdoor events! Today I am talking with Camo Lionheart and Kylee Gies about their upcoming event, Mandala: Tending to our inner life-cycles. This is the second year that Camo and Kylee have teamed up for an all day, outdoor healing offering and I'm honored to again be a part of it. This conversation is a snapshot of what will be spoken about or worked through within the safety of this all day event. We will spend this time introducing and expanding on some of the concepts and mindsets we are presenting and working towards within this offering. Grief surfing and grief composting are 2 very intriguing concepts that were just introduced to me through this talk, and will more than likely be revisited as a topic of it's own show.
