What a pleasure it was for the SportsBoys team to have Bart Yasso (Mayor of Running) join us for this episode. For those that don't know who this man is, his resume is off the charts.  Bart started running in 1977 and was driven by his brother George Yasso.  As he got into running some of his accomplishments included participating in 5 Ironmans, running the Badwater (146 miles) in Death Valley, ran races on all 7 continents, cycled across the United States TWICE, and last but not least he is the founder of the Yasso 800's which are used today around the world to train for marathons.Having Bart on the podcast with us was such an eye opener and hearing his stories was such a pleasure.  This episode is longer than most of the Running Man segments but it could have gone longer.  We could have listened to him talk for hours.  I could keep typing more about him but I want everyone to listen to this great episode and how much fun it was for all of us.  Thank you again Bart for taking the time to join us.  Enjoy the show everyone!!

So this episode was a bit different.  We decided to combine the two segments of Running Man Joe and Coach's Academy.  We brought a special guest on that was just superb to have aboard. Paul May joins us this episode and he is the son on the legendary Joe May of the LSU Tigers. Joe May claims fame for the 1958 National Championship for the Tigers as he was the one who kept Tommy Davis in line to keep him eligible to play for the team.During Joe's time at LSU he sets records on the track and the football field.  For track he held the record for the javelin and set the record for kickoff return of 96 yards which wasn't broken until mid 1970's.  Joe is legend in Tiger country so we were honored to have his son join us to share his stories about him.Paul May shares some incredible stories with us growing up in the LSU community.  He speaks about what his dad accomplished as a player turned coach at the university.  Paul's best way to describe his dad was that he wasn't the most athletic but he had grit.  Sometimes that's all you need.  I could keep writing but please just have a listen to this incredible episode and how much it meant to Paul to be able to talk about his father on the national level. Thanks everyone for listening and enjoy the show!!

Such a great topic that some people don't know how or want to talk about this week.  Being psychologically ready to participate in any sport or situation.Joe does a great job explaining how certain things can be triggers for him as he gets ready for a running race.  He talks about things that he does that helps him ground himself if he finds that he is losing grip with what he is trying to accomplish.  From praying to mediation he explains there are many ways to get yourself mentally ready to compete.  This is such a crucial part of sports that coaches and parents overlook time after time.  With that it can be detrimental to a young athlete to learn this at a young age on how to deal with these speed bumps and move past them.  I hope everyone enjoys this episode as we could have talked for hours on this subject.Thank you to everyone that has downloaded and please keep sharing with friends and family.Enjoy the show!!

It's March Madness time and also the start of NFL free agency.  This episode is great. We begin and end with March Madness and talk about our possible picks for the champion this year.  We try to figure out what the possible power conference could be and who could possibly be the next cinderella.  Can Layola do it again?  We shall see. Then the big talk.  Patriots making some HUGE moves on the first day of free agency.  Not typical Patriots moves with spending money as they did but we are happy with the results.  There is one question still lingering with possible QB situation and who they could possibly pick up or just use what they have.  Hopefully will pick someone up.  Watson is the talk but he could be in trouble.Enjoy the show!!
