Death may not be our favorite topic, but understanding it can enrich our lives. Join Daniel Bennett as he discusses how to honor those who have passed and why this process is vital for our mental and spiritual health.
In this convicting installment of the "Kingdom Now" series on the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Karl tackles the final section of Matthew 6, where Jesus confronts the disciple's battle with excessive worry.Jesus commands, “Do not be anxious about your life,” addressing our deepest fears over sustenance, health, and material security. Pastor Karl explains that worry is not a personality trait but a discipleship issue—a lack of trust that we are our own ultimate provider. He notes the physical and emotional toll of chronic anxiety, while research shows most worries never materialize and the rest prove less devastating than feared.Drawing from Jesus' illustrations of birds (who labor diligently yet trust God's care) and lilies (clothed more gloriously than Solomon), Pastor Karl clarifies: diligent work and planning are biblical, but anxiety over provision is not. Worry accomplishes nothing and robs us of life. The solution is radical: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Jesus calls disciples to dethrone worry by enthroning God's kingdom as the supreme priority—surpassing personal agendas, comfort, and even life itself. When the eternal kingdom becomes our greatest passion, God faithfully supplies what we truly need.Echoing Abraham's trust over Lot's worldly pursuit, Pastor Karl challenges listeners: Will we choose altars over assets, surrendering our plans to God's will? True freedom from worry comes not from trying harder to stop, but from wholehearted devotion to the King and His kingdom.A powerful, grace-filled invitation to examine our priorities, replace anxiety with kingdom passion, and live as trusting disciples who reflect their generous, faithful Father.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Spiritual warfare is being waged over the battlefield of men's hearts and minds. Join Derek as He shares about the war between the Romans and Pirates in 63 BC, which gives the background to 2Corinthians 10:3-6, which talks about the weapons of our warfare being mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Paul used this war, where the Romans defeated the Pirates, as a picture of how we can be victorious, by using (1) God's mighty weapons (words), and (2) His strategy for deploying them, which is to first locate and pull down the enemy strongholds (false beliefs erected against God's truth), and then take every pirate-thought captive to the obedience of Christ, just as the pirates were made to surrender to Rome.

We all have a wagon of things that we drag along with us. Burdens, heartaches, responsibilities, and hurts. Navigating the path of life is daunting and pulling our wagon of things along makes it even more difficult. Too often, our wagons carry much more than they were intended to. We live in an overwhelmed world. Everyone is trying to keep up. We come to God under heavy burdens just dealing with daily life. How often does God look at our wagon and see things there that he never intended for us to carry? If we are burdened with more than we can carry, we need to do some self-inventory and get rid of the things we do not need to carry. We must unload most of that stuff and let God have it. God can deal with our burdens, but we must let Him have them. We bring the wagon, but we leave with it full. We have to bring it all to Him and let him work.

In today's message, Pastor Marc Sharp continues the series "Songs of Ascents" with part six. This series is looking at 15 Psalms (Psalm 120-134) designated as “Songs of Ascents”, which are God’s guidebook for right worship in the church. The central theme of the Psalm today is permanence. It reminds us of those things which will not change; our security as believers, God’s love and protection of us; the safety of our inheritance in Him. When all is shaken around us, and the ground feels like it is crumbling underneath our feet, Psalm 125 is a beacon of gospel hope; an anchor that keeps us from drifting into the rocky shoreline of fear, apathy and defeatism. Ps. 89:7-9 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them. Lam 3:24-26 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

The cares of this world weigh heavy on us! It's not uncommon to become overwhelmed with the issues of our daily lives. But thank God that He is aware of that and His Word gives us guidance on how to manage these issues in our life. This Sunday, Dan Marzari used three passages that give us a clear picture of how we are to think about and respond to worry.
You miss out on joy by worrying that a good thing might not happen or dreading that a bad thing might. We need to stop dwelling on the past. God has problems. We should give God our problems. God has our problems. When we give Him our cares, it's important to not give them back. God has never had a problem that He hasn't been able to solve. Jesus said (paraphrase), who can gain anything from worrying about a problem? Time is fleeting and temporary. Our walk upon this earth is now, and later is the afterlife. You are going to go to Heaven or Hell. It's your choice. We're given now and we're not sure how long now will last. Now will end and will become later. Where will you be later?
Jeff Maness – January 10, 2021 While the Church can’t speak into the medical, chemical, physical, or psychological aspect of anxiety and mental health, because of Jesus we can speak into the spiritual side. In fact, Jesus is not just our example against sin, He is our example in every struggle. (Online Survey) https://elementchurchwy.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/217/responses/new
