A weekly mental vacation. Two guys talking sports, entertainment, music, gambling, and sometimes a lot of nothing. We're a fun escape from the annoying crap that fills our daily lives. Come vibe with us
It's SUPER BOWL WEEK! The boys are back after their hiatus last week to talk about the big game (that the Ravens are not playing in -- we're fine we promise). Before doing so, Josh catches us up on his life and just how well it's going “in the streets” and eloquently wraps this part of our discussion with a hall of fame twitter thread reading. As always, we are very thankful for our friends at Huega House -- use code “Dante” for 15% off all orders; and Captain Coffee -- use code “Wave15” for 15% off everything. Jumping into the big game, the boys are setting the table. Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, and the hungry dogs from Philly take on the big bad wolf in Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Andy Reid, and the back-to-back champion Kansas City Chiefs. The last time these two met in the Super Bowl, they combined for the second-most points EVER in Super Bowl history. The boys both give their thoughts on the game and why they believe in their predictions. Dante takes a stab at just how Philadelphia's offense can counteract what Steve Spagnuolo is inevitably going to throw at them, and if it will be enough to stop the potential three-peat by KC. Moving towards our teams, the Ravens have a very long list of impending free agents, so Josh and Dante give their thoughts on who they believe should be prioritized, and who is most likely going to test out the open market. Also, Dante has one FA that, surprisingly, he believes should be higher on the Ravens' list than most people. More on the personnel front for the Ravens, beloved former defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano is back! Chuck has been hired by John Harbaugh as the senior defensive backs coach, and the boys explain why this is a great move (and also that we may have called this in October). The Ravens also hired rising sensation Tyler Santucci from Georgia Tech to fill their open Linebackers coach position. Cooper Kupp and Myles Garrett have both made headlines this week stating that they are looking for a trade partner, and the boys have some thoughts on both and their potential to end up in Baltimore. Across the B/C parking lots, the Orioles have made a move! Not for a player (like we've all been waiting for) but still positively, Adam Jones is back! We're unsure of his role exactly, but he will be joining the Orioles' front office in what will undoubtedly be an immensely net-positive addition to the team. The boys give a few programming notes for the upcoming future of the show, and we send you all into the weekend. Remember: this is the last football game until September. Enjoy it. Cheers!
The boys are back this week and to kick off the show, Josh tells the group about his first arancini experience. Spoiler: it went exactly how you'd expect. Our guy celebrated his 28th birthday on Monday and, albeit under unfortunate circumstances, it was a good one. Unfortunately, the Ravens' season is over much sooner than we all would have hoped. The Ravens were beaten by the Buffalo Bills 27-25 in their AFC divisional round matchup. The boys started out using this episode as a therapy session (as they did last year) and tried to flush out the question “why do the Ravens do this every year?” Ultimately, the boys explain why they view this year as slightly different than years past, and why they believe there should be little to no questioning around the coaching staff as there often are after losses like this. Lamar Jackson had some extremely high moments, such as marching the Ravens 88 yards downfield on what should have been a game tying drive with less than 2 minutes left in the game, as well as some lows including his two turnovers. We all believe that, while it was certainly not the game we would've liked to see from Lamar, he did enough to win the game. Mark Andrews had two extremely costly drops, one of which was the game-tying two point conversion attempt, and a lost fumble in the fourth quarter. Josh and Dante explain their thoughts on Andrews' game and why his uncharacteristic lack of execution was ultimately the difference in this matchup. Dante dives into the numbers in this game showing that the Ravens significantly outgained, out rushed, out passed, and out performed the Bills in almost all facets. Josh also adds that the Ravens did not punt once in this game. To put a bow on the Ravens season, the boys are asking and trying to identify what do the Ravens need to get over the hump, and Dante's answer may be a bit surprising. EDC has a long list of impending free agents that the boys will address on next week's episode. The Ohio State Buckeye are the 2024-2025 CFP national champions. Dante is not disappointed by what he saw out of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Marcus Freeman has done all but solidify that a former Irish coach was dead wrong in thinking it wasn't possible to win a ring at Notre Dame. Lastly, the boys have a few music recommendations, and we send you all into what is hopefully the best weekend of your lives. Cheers!
The boys are back this week and have a groundbreaking message of news: it's cold. Dante is battling the freezing temperatures of the Baltimore area, and apparently bars in North Carolina have to close early to prepare for snow. Josh and Dante recap their weeks as Dante locked down the fort with a Steelers fan in his camp, and Josh tells us about his adventures to a few shows. Also, shoutout to Bekkv (“Bekka”) for absolutely crushing her set this weekend. The boys dive into their recap of the Ravens AFC Wild Card win over the Mike Tomlin-led Pittsburgh Steelers. They were both stunned at the lack of effort and heart shown by Pittsburgh, as it's very uncharacteristic of a Mike Tomlin team. Nevertheless, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry showed just how tough to stop they are, running for almost 300 yards as a team with 188 coming from the King. Rashod Bateman continues to have the best season of his career adding two catches and a TD, as he is constantly open for Lamar. The absence of Zay Flowers was definitely felt, but thankfully it wasn't too detrimental for the Ravens in this one. All eyes turn to Buffalo as the Ravens head up to New York for a matchup with Josh Allen and the Bills. Arguably the two best QBs in the NFL this year, these two will go head to head for a chance to play in the AFC Championship. Josh and Dante take a look at the overall health for both sides, as well as how Buffalo's units have fared throughout the year. Dante and Josh both give their keys to victory, and Dante explains why the Ravens defense should have a very specific key number in this one. Lastly, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in the CFP National Championship, and Dante is happy about that. Thank you all for coming back and listening to us. We love you all and are eternally grateful for all of you. Cheers, and go Ravens!
The boys are back this week with another fun filled episode starting exactly where we thought they would: discussing socio-geographic cultural stereotypes and which NFL team represents a historic country. The answers… will shock you. As they jump into the actual ball talk this week, Josh and Dante spend a bit of time recapping the Ravens vs. Browns week 18 game. The Ravens did exactly what we hoped they'd do and took care of business, beating Cleveland 35-10. Nate Wiggins secured his first NFL interception which he took for a touchdown, Lamar Jackson added to his already legendary season with a few more passing touchdowns, Derrick Henry closed the season just shy of 2,000 yards, and the game was kissed to bed by the sweet treat of 370-pound Michael Pierce intercepting Bailey Zappe becoming the third-heaviest player to ever record an INT. Dante believes that, despite all the good displayed by the Ravens, that this game was actually far from perfect and the Ravens have some kinks to iron out ahead of their playoff matchup this upcoming week. Thank God we played against Bailey Zappe and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Lamar finished the season with the fourth highest single season passer rating of all time, trailing only Aaron Rodgers (twice), and Peyton Manning. Which then, of course, spurred the boys into another debate surrounding the MVP debate and who they believe should win the award. Moving on to the task at hand, the Ravens have a rubber match against the PIttsburgh Steelers for the AFC Wild Card this upcoming weekend. The boys cut a few promos and explain why every able body in Baltimore should be part of the noise at the bank this Saturday night. Josh gives his keys to victory and explains why we, both as a team and city, need this win badly. Dante goes through Pittsburgh's numbers on the season and gives his keys as well. The boys wrap up with some chatting on the college football playoff heading into the semifinal, and Dante hypes up his Irish. They finish with some music recommendations and Josh talks about his upcoming shows, and we send you all into what will hopefully be the best weekend of our lives. Cheers to you!
Happy new year! The boys are back kicking off the new year with the same old bullshit. Josh recaps his Holiday hijinks (pun intended) from Hijyix festival in Philadelphia, as well as the Space Laces show in Charlotte on NYE. Going way back to Christmas day, the boys dive into their recap of the 31-2 assault the Ravens put down on the Houston Texans. Lamar was efficient and took matters to the ground on occasion, but this game was largely the Derrick Henry show. Tallying 27 carries for over 140 yards and a score, the king proved to the country why he's still the King. Also, Dante takes a look at some of the run fits that has him asking “what exactly is Todd Monken on?” The defense also played a stellar game as they held the Texans offense to ZERO (0) points in the game, Kyle Hamilton and Ar'Darius Washington both made key plays in pivotal moments that helped close out the win. Kyle Van Noy continues his career year, and Odafe Oweh tallied a sack as well in addition to his highest single season total. Lastly, we don't want to say it too loud, but it seems that Justin Tucker is kicking good balls again. The sports media world is ablaze with MVP discourse between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, so the boys had to weigh in. Dante actually credits and defends Dan Orlovsky's take, but explains why Dan isn't exactly looking at it the right way. The Ravens have their final game of the regular season on Saturday, welcoming the Cleveland Browns to town to close out the year. The Browns will be starting Dorian Thompson-Robinson again this week, and could be missing some key players. From Josh and Dante, the message is simple: get the job done and stay healthy. The boys talk a little about college football as the CFP is still going on. Is Ohio State good? And can Penn State win a big game? Lastly, rave fashion is… something. We love you all so much. Thank you for another year of rocking with us. Cheers!
The boys jump back in on a short week this week to wish you all a VERY Merry Christmas! Dante and Josh dive right into it this week with the Ravens, FINALLY, getting a win over their rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Derrick Henry dominated on the ground, but the boys saw this one as much more of a complete team win. John Harbaugh was able to prove that he can beat Mike Tomlin, and now the boys believe this Ravens team can be taken seriously. The Steelers were unfortunately not at full strength, but all things considered, the Ravens took care of business and did what needed to be done. Turning our attention to this week, the Ravens head down to Houston to take on CJ Stroud and the Texans on Christmas Day. The Texans are also banged up as they will now be without WR Tank Dell, among other absences due to injuries, in their matchup with Baltimore. Josh lays out his thoughts for this game and what he wants to see out of the Ravens in order to come home with a dub. Dante takes a look at the numbers on the season from Houston, and he gives us his keys to victory as well. The college football playoff happened! Round 1 went just about how we all expected, but we will not take a 12-team playoff for granted. The boys end the show on a high note as we head into the holiday weekend full of cheer, as we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Enjoy this time with whomever you spend it with, and don't forget to have one on us. Cheers!
The boys are back this week ready to talk about exactly what you wanted to hear: their Christmas traditions. Seeing that it is, in fact, the most wonderful time of the year, Josh and Dante talk a little bit about how they usually spend their holiday. Josh explains why he loves that his Christmas is much like another holiday we've discussed on the show, and in a very surprising turn of events, Dante tells us that his Italian family does not partake in a certain Italian Christmas tradition. Nevertheless, however you spend your holiday, make sure to be thankful and enjoy the time with family, friends, or whomever you celebrate with. Getting into the sports talk of the week, The Ravens took care of business against the NY Giants with a 35-14 win. Lamar Jackson continues his record setting season throwing the football, and one of our co-hosts believes that he is still the MVP. Rashod Bateman is also having the best year of his career, notching an 80 yard performance to go along with his 2 touchdowns this week. As Rashod Bateman truthers, the boys are very happy. The defense continues its strong stretch of games, and Ar'Darius Washington finally caught an interception. All in all, the Ravens did exactly what they should've done against the 2-12 Giants, and we're on to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are coming down to Baltimore for their yearly matchup and this one is all hands on deck. The boys reiterate what they said a few weeks ago in this game is a MUST WIN. John Harbaugh needs to prove he doesn't have a Mike Tomlin problem. Lamar Jackson needs to prove he can beat the Steelers. Finally, the Ravens need to prove that they are capable of winning the big one, and beating the Steelers is the first step. Josh gives his thoughts on the game, and Dante takes us through the numbers for Pittsburgh on the year along with his keys to victory. In the college football world, Bill Belichick is now the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. Travis Hunter wins the 2024 Heisman Trophy. The boys give their favorite Christmas songs, and we send you into a wonderful weekend. We love you all and are so thankful for you. If this is the last episode before Christmas, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you. Cheers!
The boys are back fresh off the bye last week and ready to talk some ball. Before jumping into the Ravens, there have been some big pieces of news in the baseball world that we have to address. Juan Soto signed the biggest deal in MLB history this week, leaving the Yankees to sign with the New York Mets. Josh and Dante take a look at why this is significant both for the league, and for the Yankees as an organization. Also, the Orioles have made some moves! Tyler O'Neill and Gary Sanchez have both agreed to deals with the Orioles, so the boys break down how they feel about both moves, as well as what needs to be next for the O's. Moving over to football, the Ravens are coming out of a bye week that wasn't without drama as we finally know what happened with Diontae Johnson. The boys look at his 1-week suspension and try to make sense of it all. The Ravens are traveling up to New Jersey this week for a matchup with the New York Giants with an opportunity to kick start the home stretch of the regular season. The Giants have had a less than stellar season, but Dante explains why this game will not be a cake walk. John Harbaugh has a real chance to get some confidence back into his team this week, and make a late push for a division title. The boys look at the numbers on the season for the Giants and try to explain why their defensive numbers may be a bit skewed. Josh gives his thoughts on the game and what he wants to see and Dante gives his keys to victory this week. To wrap up the sports talk, the boys are talking college football. There's an incredible Heisman race going on between Ashton Jeanty and Travis Hunter, so the boys weigh in and give their takes. Also, the first ever 12-team college football playoff bracket is set, so we break it all down on the show. Lastly, Dante gives an update on his music life. Great friend of the boys, and of the show, Will Blake, producer for 98 Rock's morning show and the Ravens gameday network, joins the pod to talk all things Ravens, working in the sports radio industry, Caps, Orioles, and Dons. Thank you all for coming back and rocking with us. Cheers!
The boys are back and fresh off the long holiday weekend ready to talk about what everyone wants to know: what goes on the Thanksgiving plate? Josh and Dante recap their holiday weekends as Josh traveled back home to Baltimore, and was boots on the ground for the Ravens vs. Eagles game, and Dante had himself the most Italian Thanksgiving we've ever heard of. As they mentioned last week, Thanksgiving is undoubtedly the most elite holiday of the year, and this year was once again kick started by the Dons capturing their second consecutive Turkey Bowl Trophy. Moving on to the professional game, the Ravens dropped their 5th game of the season this week to the Eagles, losing by a final score of 24-19. This was not a perfect game on a number of fronts, but the worst showing of all this week was, unfortunately, Justin Tucker. The boys are firmly pushing the panic button and asking “what is going on with Justin Tucker?” after 13 consecutive weeks of not being able to put the ball through the uprights. In addition to Tucker, another issue hindering the Ravens' success this week was the offensive line, and specifically, the play of Patrick Mekari and Daniel Faalele. At this point deep into the season, Dante explains why the blame should fall on someone other than those two individuals. The Ravens outgained the Eagles in all facets of the game, which makes this one even harder to swallow. Dante and Josh take a look at what caused this one to go awry. If there was one silver lining, however, in this contest, it was the fact that the defense has strung together three straight games of really good ball. It was not perfect, but ultimately, one of the boys gives their take on why they believe the defensive effort was enough to get the job done. As the Ravens head into the bye week, they're faced with a number of questions: what will the line look like following the bye, how will they get over the liability that is Justin Tucker missing kicks and flipping the opponents starting points, and what the hell is going on with Diontae Johnson? With some extra time this week, the boys dive into the college football landscape on the heels of an AWESOME rivalry week. This year's rivalry week did not disappoint as we had Michigan upsetting Ohio State in Columbus, NC State beating UNC in Chapel Hill, and just about every fight imaginable. Josh gives his take on why college football is the greatest sport in America. The boys wrap up the show with some music talk, tease a potential guest for the coming weeks, and send y'all into the best weekend of your lives. Thank you all for coming back and rocking with us. We love each and every one of you. Cheers!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! The boys are back on the official first episode of this year's holiday season explaining why Thanksgiving is, in fact, a top tier holiday. The boys talk a little bit on how they each celebrate Thanksgiving, and ultimately why if you don't think it's the best holiday for adults then you're probably doing it wrong. Taking a look at the football this week, the Ravens traveled across the country and get a big time win on Monday Night Football over the Chargers. John Harbaugh improves to 3-0 in his professional career over his brother Jim. The Ravens offense was propelled by Derrick Henry's monster performance, tallying 140 yards on 24 carries which helped Baltimore hang 30 on a Chargers defense that previously had only allowed more than 17 points on one occasion this year. John Harbaugh earned some grace from the boys this week based off some key decision making in this game. The boys have to give credit where it's due, and this week it was Malik Harrison earning some well-deserved praise from his performance particularly in the second half, which lead the Ravens in total tackles on the night. Moving on to this upcoming week, the Ravens welcome our neighbors-to-the-north in the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are coming in off a massive win over the LA Rams, and continue to be one of the NFL's hottest teams. Saquon Barkley is leading the NFL in rushing, and is also a front runner for OPOY. The boys give their thoughts on this game, and Josh explains what he wants to see and what he expects, as he will be boots on the ground. Dante dives into the units for Philly, and gives his keys to victory. Lastly, the boys wrap up the show expressing their gratitude for all of you. The listeners and followers are why we do this, and we are so unbelievably thankful for each of you every week, who allow us to do this and be so happy doing it. Everyone have a wonderful Holiday and travel safe. Lastly, ROLL DONS ROLL!
The boys are back this week with another episode filled with misery and disgust as enjoying football is going swimmingly! As always, shoutout to our friends at Huega House for code “Dante” to save some money. And another big shoutout to our friends over at Captain Coffee for the best coffee in the world (code “Wave15” to save 15%). Before the sports talk of the week, the boys recap their eventful weekends. Josh went to a show out in Charlotte and took in the game at his beloved Ravens bar in the Queen's city. Alleycvt, in Josh's words, did not disappoint and neither did the city of Charlotte. Dante went out to Vegas and gives his recap of a busy and fun weekend. The Ravens dropped yet another to their AFC North “rival” Pittsburgh Steelers, and, naturally, the boys are taking it just fine. The Ravens were fighting uphill seemingly from the jump as Derrick Henry lost his first fumble in over 500 carries on the second play from scrimmage. From there on out, the voodoo shit was in against the Ravens. Josh and Dante take a deep look into what exactly went wrong and why, consistently, the Ravens get out-game planned, out prepared, and ultimately out coached by the Steelers. Derrick Henry was not used as he should have been, again, so Dante recalls the usage stats for the Ravens' running back in losses compared to wins. Penalties remain a huge issue for this team, so Dante has one man and one man alone to point the finger at. If there was one bright side from Sunday's loss, it was the defense (surprisingly). The Ravens defensive unit played unequivocally their best game, so the boys take a look at why this was the case and what they hope to see moving forward from this unit. Moving on to the next matchup for Baltimore, the Ravens travel out to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers on Monday Night Football. There are a number of headlines heading into this game, but none bigger than the rematch of the “HarBowl” as brothers Jim and John Harbaugh square off for the third time in the NFL. The boys take a look at how the units on both sides of the football have performed for the Chargers this season, and how the Ravens stack up. Josh and Dante both give their keys to victory. The CFP Committee have released their latest playoff rankings, so the boys break down how they feel about it, and what surprised them the most about this week's update. The boys wrap up with some music talk, as they both are on the heels of seeing some pretty massive shows this past weekend. To wrap up the show, Dante gives his NFL week 12 best bets, and we send you into another great weekend. Cheers to you all! We love you.
On this week's episode of the show, the boys kick off by recounting their weekends and checking in. Josh was back home in Baltimore for a couple days taking in the Ravens vs. Bengals game, and gives his feelings on his quick trip. Dante played a little golf this weekend and watched some college football. The boys take a quick minute to talk about some pressing questions revolving around the college football landscape, including the topic of LSU getting a “fake Mike” for their game against Alabama. Jumping into the matter at hand, the Ravens got a HUGE win on Thursday Night Football over the Bengals, 35-34, and improve their record to 7-3 on the season. This game felt like more of a collective effort, but obviously was propelled by the performance of QB Lamar Jackson (once again). Josh and Dante take a look at some unsuspecting weapons that came through in big moments, and why Dante is feeling a sense of optimism even amongst the bad we experienced this week. The boys also address the defense and why it's officially a problem. We're not used to saying that in Baltimore, so Josh and Dante vent about the defensive frustration, and examine whether or not the issue is fixable. Lastly, what is wrong with Marcus Williams? Moving on to this upcoming game, it's officially AFC North hate week as the Ravens will travel to Pittsburgh for the first matchup against the Steelers this season. Josh and Dante reiterate one shared sentiment among Ravens fans: we do not like them. The Steelers have been playing good football behind QB Russell Wilson, and unfortunately, this team is very well coached. Dante runs through the numbers on both sides of the ball for the Pittsburgh units. Josh gives his overarching thoughts and feelings ahead of this one. Dante lays out his keys to victory that he believes are most paramount for the Ravens to leave the steel city victorious. The boys wrap up the show talking some college football, and remind us all that this week's slate may be primed for us to spend some time with our loved ones. The boys have some new music recommendations for you all this week (and one old one) and we send you into a great weekend. Don't forget to get a jump on your holiday shopping with our friends over at Huega House (code “Dante”) and Captain Coffee (code “Wave15) to save some money on great products. We love you all!
The boys are back into the thick of it this week, but they're back having fun! Josh and Dante kick off the show discussing their Halloween weekends. Josh attended a HOUSE show and gave his thoughts on Bunt's concert down in Raleigh on Halloween night. Dante recounts his Halloween experience in NYC, and gives his thoughts on why the city is growing on him. Jumping into the sports talk of the week, the Ravens get back on the horse and PUMMEL the Denver Broncos by a final score of 41-10. Lamar Jackson was, once again, pristine on Sunday afternoon, and the boys talk about what a dominant performance it was (again) for the 2 time MVP. In addition to it being another stellar Sunday for Jackson, he became tied for the lead in NFL history for games with a perfect passer rating. Lamar is certainly cementing himself as one of the game's most special talents. In addition to Lamar, Ravens running back Derrick Henry also had himself a historic afternoon. Henry eclipsed 100 rushing touchdowns in his career with his first of two this Sunday. Dante and Josh explain why Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson are both benefiting from one another, but why they believe only one of them is truly deserving of the “most valuable” title. Additionally, not just Henry and Jackson had extensive offensive days this week, as wide receiver Zay Flowers had himself a 127 yard, multiple touchdown day. Flowers has been slowly emerging as a true WR1 in the NFL over the course of this season, but since week 5, he has broken out rapidly. As Lamar said, this truly is looking like a “pick your poison” offense. It wasn't all good on Sunday, however, as the Ravens defense were benefactors of a few missed opportunities by Bo Nix and the Broncos' offense. Dante explains why the score isn't necessarily indicative of how the Ravens defensive unit played this week, and what the boys believe still needs to be tightened up moving forward. All in all, however, the Ravens got a big time win in a situation where they needed it. Looking ahead, the Ravens have a short week with the Cincinnati Bengals coming to town on Thursday night. Josh and Dante take a look at some looming storylines, including a few key injuries on the Bengals front, and dive into the production by both Cincinnati's offensive and Defensive units. Josh explains what he believes the Ravens need to do in order to walk home with a dub, and Dante gives his keys to victory. The boys wrap up with some college football talk, Dante gives his best bets for the week, and we send you all into another fantastic end of the week/weekend. Cheers to you all. We love you!
Happy Halloween! The boys are back for a FULLY LOADED and SPOOKY episode this week. To kick off the show, Josh and Dante dive into how they feel about Halloween, and some great costume ideas they've seen floating around as of late. Unfortunately, sticking with the spooky theme, the Ravens dropped an ugly loss in Cleveland this week, getting downed by the Browns 29-24. The story of this week's game was the defense and how unacceptable the brand of ball this unit is playing has been. Josh and Dante take a look at exactly what is going wrong, how it can (potentially) get fixed, and why one of them feels that the defense in Baltimore has lost its identity -- something we never thought we'd say. In particular, the secondary has been so bad that we have miscommunications leading to lapses in coverage, which of course is leading to points… and a lot of them. Also, what is going on with John Harbaugh and Marcus Williams? Outside of the defensive issues, it seems there is a very obvious trend in losses compared to wins this season: the usage (or lack thereof) of Derrick Henry. Dante did some #analysis and it turns out that there is a DRAMATIC drop off in Derrick Henry's attempts in losses compared to wins on the year. The offensive line went back to their old ways and had an abysmal performance this week, resulting in a total of 18 total pressures, and lastly on the offense, Todd Monken did not do anyone any favors this week either. Last point Josh raises on this week's game: do the Ravens have a Special Teams problem? Moving on from this game, Eric DeCosta has made his first (of hopefully multiple) trade this week. The Ravens have acquired Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a day three pick swap in this year's draft. The boys give their immediate reaction to the news that broke shortly before jumping on air this week, as well as who they'd like to see EDC go out and get next. To the matter at hand, the Ravens are hosting the Denver Broncos this week. The boys take a look at how each team has looked recently, as well as how they stack up against one another in this matchup. Josh gives his preliminary feelings on the game, and Dante jumps into his keys to victory. The boys discuss some upcoming college football matchups, and how the Ohio State/Penn State game being a 12:00 kickoff should be a crime. Dante gives his best NFL Week 9 bets, and we send you all into a fantastic Halloween Weekend. Cheers!
The boys are back this week and this week (like any other) the question we're asking is “just how good is it to watch Lamar Jackson play football?” The Ravens got another big win on Monday Night Football this week over the Buccaneers, extending their win streak to five games. Not only is Lamar doing things that warrant discussions of his third league MVP, but he is now entering territory of historic feats that have only been accomplished by a few of the greats in league history. The boys kick off the football talks by examining Lamar's generational run, including his career stats on Monday Night, primetime, against NFC opponents, and what he's been able to accomplish in less than 100 career starts. Josh stresses that we are witnessing greatness on a weekly basis and we have to appreciate it while we can. Aside from Lamar, there are other aspects of this Ravens offense reaching historic milestones. Derrick Henry eclipsed the 100 career touchdown mark, making him one of a select group consisting of elite players. Todd Monken deserves a large amount of praise for what he's done with this offense. Dante and Josh take a look at some schematic details deployed by Monken and how they're working against defenses over the last few weeks. This was the week for Rashod Bateman truthers to finally stand up, as he grabbed 4 catches for over 100 yards and a touchdown in the primetime win. Dante takes a moment to shout out some strong points on the defensive side of the ball, as well as pointing out what needs to improve if they're going to take the next step. The Ravens have their second divisional matchup of the season this week as they head to Cleveland. Jameis Winston has been announced the starter in the wake of Deshaun Watson's season ending injury, and the team announced that head coach Kevin Stefanski would be relinquishing play calling duties to OC Ken Dorsey. Josh gives his thoughts on this game and what he would like to see from the Ravens in order to come home with a win. Dante gives his keys to victory, as well as a look into how Cleveland's units have performed this season. The boys recap a strong weekend of college football, and take a peek ahead at this week's slate. Thank you all for coming back. We love you. Don't forget to use code “Dante” at Huega House for 15% off, and code “Wave15” at Captain Coffee for 15% off all orders. Cheers!
The boys get back into their weekly debauchery with an added pep in their step after this weekend. To kick off the show, Josh recounts the pack filled weekend that was. First, he tells us about the first of two concerts he attended this weekend. Friday night, Josh went to see YDG and told us how that went. On Saturday, Josh and some friends went to see Tape B and Levity, which turned out to be one HELL of a show. He has a new up and coming DJ called BEKKV (Bekka) who absolutely crushed her set and deserved to be shown some love on the show. Following the second concert, he booked it back to Baltimore to be seated for the Ravens and Commanders game Sunday afternoon. He gives us his “boots on the ground” recap from the Bank. Getting into the actual football this weekend, the Ravens won their fourth straight game, this time beating the Washington Commanders and red hot rookie sensation Jayden Daniels by a score of 30-23. Dante kicks off the conversation by stating this may be the most complete, complimentary effort we've seen from this Ravens squad this year. Derrick Henry had another monstrous performance, but did so very quietly. His 24 carries for over 100 yards seemed to happen as almost an afterthought. Lamar Jackson was extremely efficient, once again, through the air, and is now causing national media pundits to question if this season is the best version of Lamar Jackson we've seen so far? The offensive line and receiving core also deserve some flowers which Josh and Dante will happily give them. Overall, a very strong performance from this Ravens team ahead of a very tough week 7 primetime matchup. Moving on to said matchup, the Ravens head down to Tampa Bay on Monday night to face a scorching hot Buccaneers team, led by a familiar face in Baker Mayfield. The Bucs are currently the number one scoring offense in the NFL, and will welcome the second-best scoring offense to their stadium this week. Josh gives his overarching thoughts on this game and what he wants to see from the Ravens heading into Tampa. Dante gives his keys to victory and explains why this will be anything but a cake walk. Moving on to college football, this past weekend was a HUGE one for the NCAA and it absolutely did not disappoint. The boys recap some of the big matchups from this past weekend, including an all time big-brain move by the Ducks and (another) heartbreaking loss for the Gamecocks. Taking a look ahead to this weekend in college football, another monster slate is on deck and the boys give their games of the week. They wrap up with some music recommendations, Dante gives his NFL week 7 best bets, and we send you all into the best weekend of your lives. Shoutout to our guys at Huega House -- code “Dante” for 15% off all orders, and our friends at Captain Coffee -- code “Wave15” for 15% off all orders. We love you all. cheers!
The boys are back in high spirits once again following a big weekend on all fronts. First, however, Josh and Dante kick off the show by eulogizing the Orioles' 2024 season that came to an unceremonious halt after getting swept (again) in a postseason series. Dante and Josh explain why the monumental collapse by the O's is unacceptable given the talent and expectations surrounding this team, and why the abysmal performance in the second half should certainly warrant wholesale change. Lastly, Josh brings up a tweet with a pressing question regarding leadership in the clubhouse. On a more positive note, the Ravens have now stacked three consecutive wins following their OT thriller in Cincinnati. The boys give their thoughts on what went well and what didn't, but the vast majority of the conversation swells around one miraculous individual: Lamar Jackson. The Ravens two time MVP quarterback was stellar this weekend and the boys explain why he truly is one of one. Baltimore has a big task at hand this weekend with the 4-1 Washington Commanders coming to town led by Rookie of the Year favorite, and potential MVP candidate, Jayden Daniels. Dante dives into the numbers of this matchup and the boys give their keys to a Ravens victory on Sunday. They wrap up talking some college ball, recounting each of their respective concerts this past weekend, Dante gives his best bets of the upcoming NFL slate, and we send you into another amazing weekend. We love you all so much. Cheers!
The boys kick off this week's episode recounting game 1 of the ALWC following an abysmal offensive performance by the Orioles. Corbin Burnes delivers nothing short of a steller, ace-esque outing and the offense can't even muster up one single run of support in return. Dante was in attendance and gave his thoughts on the crowd as well. The Ravens (thankfully) were back in action this past weekend and got a MASSIVE win over Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The boys talk about what they saw from this game and why they felt the Ravens were able to completely and utterly dominate the then-undefeated Bills squad. Some of their player highlights include Derrick Henry, obviously, after totalling 199 yards on the ground and a touchdown, as well as another touchdown through the air. Kyle Van Noy continues his career resurgence in Baltimore tallying another multi-sack game, which is his third in a row this season. Also, once again, Justice Hill proves to be one of the most unsung heroes in the NFL, and Josh explains perfectly why he is the epitome of a role player that everyone should want on their team. Taking a look ahead, the Ravens have their first divisional matchup as they head to Cincinnati to take on Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Dante and Josh both give their thoughts on the game, as well as their keys to victory, and why the approach to this game should be both simple and familiar. Sticking in the realm of football, the boys talk a little college ball as Dante was in attendance for the “unofficial white out” in Happy Valley last weekend, and Josh recaps what was undoubtedly the game of the year in Alabama vs Georgia. The boys wrap up with a little chat on music, including a take that will for sure make Dante sound like an old head, and Josh prepping for not one, but TWO concerts this weekend. Our good friend and resident dad of the program, Marc Roche, joins Dante to give a preview of the MLB Postseason, as well as both boys dishing out predictions for this week and who they believe will be lifting the Commissioner's Trophy in a few weeks. Dante concludes with his best bets for NFL Week 5. Thank you all so much for coming back and rocking with us. Shoutout to Huega House (code “Dante” for 15% off) and Captain Coffee (code “Wave15” for 15% off). We love you all. Cheers!
The boys are back this week and FINALLY have something good to talk about. For the first time since January, the Ravens are back in the win column, but not without giving us a good scare first. The Ravens went into Dallas and beat the Cowboys 28-25 led by a vintage King Derrick Henry performance. The boys discuss why they still struggle to close out games late, and why Todd Monken and John Harbaugh are over complicating the game. Kyle Van Noy broke a bone in his face and somehow got better. Kyle Hamilton reminded us all that he still is a bad, bad man. Daniel Faalele and Patrick Mekari heard the noise and delivered an improved performance. Finally, Lamar Jackson is cementing himself as a vocal leader of this team and it is exactly what we need. The Orioles enter Tuesday's series with the Yankees with the potential to clinch a playoff spot, and are finally getting healthy… watch out! The Ravens are home again this week on SNF with the undefeated Bills coming to town. The boys take a look at what they'll need to do to give Buffalo their first loss of the season. There's a lot of good college football matchups happening this week, including one at which we will have boots on the ground, for the boys to break down. Josh talks about what he's heard from Lost Lands, Dante gives his best bets, and we send yall into another great weekend. Don't forget to use code “Dante” at Huega House, and code “Wave15” at Captain Coffee for 15% off all orders. We love you all. Cheers!
The boys are back and there's nothing to be happy about this week except Captain Coffee (code Wave15) and Huega House (code Dante). The Ravens lose their home opener, just the fourth time this has happened under coach John Harbaugh, and fall to 0-2 on the season. Obviously Dante and Josh are not happy about this and are asking the important questions that everyone wants answers to. Dante wants to start with the head coach, and specifically regarding the league-leading ten 7+ point blown 4th quarter leads in the last two seasons. Dante wants to know why John Harbaugh-led teams cannot close out games, why he seems to be the common denominator, and ultimately why Mike Tomlin was right about this organization. Aside from the head coaching inadequacies, the offensive line has proven to be a MAJOR issue for this team, especially the right side. Daniel Faalele and Patrick Mekari have given up insurmountable pressures and sacks that are ultimately losing games for the Ravens -- but for some reason, John Harbaugh will not make a change this week. The boys take a look at the play calling and why that is an added issue to the laundry list of those this team is facing. Ultimately, the Ravens do not have an identity on offense, and if they do, they don't know what it is yet. Derrick Henry and Mark Andrews have been criminally underutilized and the boys want to know why. Dante has one solution: PLAY ACTION. Lastly… should we be concerned about Justin Tucker? On the defensive side of the ball, there were several bright spots up front including Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh, who both had 2+ sacks in Sunday's loss. Ultimately, this loss leads to the first 0-2 start for the Ravens since 2015, and they face an uphill battle to make the playoffs. Moving on to this week's matchup, the Ravens head to Dallas to take on the 1-1 Cowboys. Josh and Dante keep it simple with their keys to victory this week, and Dante explains why now more than ever, the blueprint is simple but critical. The boys take a look at the College Football slate this week and talk about their favorite matchups. They wrap up with some music talk as Dante recounts his experience with Noah Kahan this weekend, Josh talks about Lost Lands this upcoming week, and song recommendations of course. We love you all so much and are so thankful for each and every one of you. Cheers!
The boys kicked off this show with the best three-word sentence in the English language: “Football is BACK.” Josh and Dante jump right into this week's episode talking ball. The Ravens unfortunately dropped their week 1 game against the reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, but not all is doom and gloom as the boys give their thoughts on what went well in this game. However, the conversation is largely dominated by not what upset them, nor what made them happy, but why they came out of Thursday's contest confused more than anything. They highlighted some bright spots, largely consisting of Lamar Jackson's play, and ultimately gave their thoughts on what to look for moving forward and specifically building off of this game. The Ravens have their home opener this weekend with the Las Vegas Raiders coming cross-country to Charm City, so the boys give their keys to victory and why they believe the Ravens should ultimately leave this one with their first win of the season. On the other side of I-395, the Orioles continue their schnide with more uninspired baseball. They are not hitting and the pitchers they have remaining are not producing as we've expected (cough, cough Corbin Burnes). All that considered, they were still the first AL team to reach 80 wins on the season. Jordan Westburg, Grayson Rodriguez, and Danny Coulombe have all begun their roads to recovery and hopefully rejoining the big league squad soon, which has the boys hopeful for a run in October. College football was back yet again with early season upsets, and this time it was a rough one for our co-hosts. Dante's Irish and Josh's Terps caused some angina this week, so naturally they had to break it down. The boys give their week 3 NCAA look ahead for games they have their eyes on. Josh and Dante give their music recommendations this week. Dante has his NFL week 3 best bets, and we send you into the best weekend of your lives. Cheers to each and every one of you. Love.
IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON! The boys are back from their last hiatus of the year with one thought on their minds: football is BACK. The Baltimore Ravens, along with the rest of the NFL, play real and meaningful football this week as they'll be opening the season in Kansas City against the reigning Super Bowl champs. Before diving into the meat of this week's show, the boys reiterate the promise they've been making to themselves this offseason: WE ARE GOING TO ENJOY FOOTBALL THIS YEAR. Spoiler: that will not last. Unfortunately, we have to start the show with a heartfelt message regarding the tragic passing of brothers and hockey players Johnny and Matt Gaudreau. They heartbreakingly lost their lives in a biking accident over the weekend, which serves as another reminder to all of us to never drink and drive. Josh shares a very nice few words about Johnny Gaudreau and how he impacted Josh's own fandom of the sport. College football came back last week with its first full week, so the boys recap some of the big matchups. Dante's Notre Dame Fighting Irish got a big win over the Texas A&M Aggies in Kyle Field on Saturday night, which the boys talk about as we look forward to a, hopefully, strong season from the Marcus Freeman-lead Irish. Finally, they move into their Ravens week 1 preview, discussing what they're looking for as Lamar Jackson and company get their first real action since January. Derrick Henry among others will also be making their Ravens debut and we cannot contain our excitement. Dante shares his keys to victory. Dante gives his bets of the week. The boys recap some concerts they've attended in the last few weeks, give their music recommendations, and send you all into the greatest weekend of the year: NFL week 1. Cheers to you all. We love you.
The boys kick off this week's show discussing the elephant in the room: college football is BACK. NCAA week 0 kicks off this weekend headlined by Florida St. vs Georgia Tech in Ireland on Saturday. The boys discuss their lack of preparedness for the upcoming football season and how exactly Josh will get in "football shape" as quickly as he needs to. Dante attended the Jimmy's Famous Seafood TailGOAT headlined by Two Friends this weekend, and he recounts his experience, as well as why everyone who even moderately enjoys electronic music should see Two Friends live. The USMNT have officially (sort of) replaced Gregg Berhalter. Mauricio Pochettino has been officially (sort of) hired as the next head coach for the US soccer club. Josh and Dante share their thoughts on the hire as well as why they believe this could potentially be exactly what this team needs. Good friend of the pod and recurring guest Zach Bollinger joins the show to talk everything from the Orioles injury woes and what the fans should realistically expect from this club heading into October, the Ravens' offseason additions and who he has his eyes on heading into the start of the year, to what makes a perfect hot dog. Thank you all so much for rocking with us, you are the greatest people on earth and we love you. Cheers!
The boys are back after their last summer vacation and come out of the gates HOT. To kick off the show, Josh and Dante dive into the international DOMINANCE displayed by the Americans at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Tying China in Gold medals, and wiping the floor with the field in total medals, the United States proves, once again, that we are better than everyone else at everything (athletically). The Baltimore Orioles are the first team in the Major Leagues to reach 70 wins this year, which is the first time Baltimore has laid that claim since 1979. Through adversity consisting of injuries, extended slumps, and ownership turnover, the Orioles have still remained atop the MLB's best squads which deserves some praise. Jackson Holliday has continued his hot streak since being recalled. Some trade deadline additions are proving to be quite useful, while one is the complete opposite. On the other side of I-395, the Ravens dropped their first preseason game to the Eagles. The story of the game was first round rookie Nate Wiggins, who had a very impressive performance prior to his injury. The Ravens have experienced a few injury scares, but have avoided major ailments to this point thankfully aside from one defensive player. The boys wrap up the show with some teasers for next week's show, including a guest, music recommendations, and they send you all into a fantastic weekend. Cheers!
The boys are back with another packed episode that unexpectedly started with a college football discussion. Josh and Dante realize just how close football actually is, which spurs a conversation on the upcoming College Football season. The boys transition into a more topical matter: the MLB trade deadline that passed this week. The Orioles were quite active, but Dante explains why he doesn't believe the activity will correlate to quality improvements. Dante recounts each move made by the O's this week and offers his thoughts on why he believes it was a good or bad trade, as well as his overall grade on the Orioles deadline moves. Jordan Westburg unfortunately suffered an injury that could sideline him for the rest of the regular season. Jackson Holliday makes his return to the major leagues in EMPHATIC fashion. The Ravens' training camp is in full swing as Lamar Jackson has returned to practice and seemingly looks good to go on the health front. The boys embrace debate: who is the most boring QB in the NFL?
The boys jump right back into it this week and this time, they start off by realizing just how close to football we really are. The NFL kicks off in less than 50 days, and college football even sooner. Jumping into the Orioles this week, they have not been playing good baseball lately and with the trade deadline looming in a week, the boys take a look at some rumored potential trades the O's could be in on, as well as who they might have to part with come Tuesday's deadline. All in all, Dante and Josh take a stab at predicting how Mike Elias will handle the next few days and that goes about exactly how you would expect. Also, Chayce McDermott, the Orioles second-highest rated pitching prospect, made his Major League debut this week! The Ravens are back at the castle for camp and thankfully we do not have any hold ins or outs. Lamar Jackson missed the first couple days of camp with an "illness" and the boys are asking the important questions: is Lamar pooping? We are ready for the season opener at Arrowhead and the boys give their thoughts and predictions on how the Ravens should start the year. In honor of EA College Football releasing, the boys give their respective top 5 Logos in college football. They wrap up the show with music recommendations, including a very surprising change of pace from one of our hosts, and we send you into a great weekend. We love you all so much. Thank you for rocking with us. Cheers!
The boys are back and on a very sad and heartfelt note, we have to kick off this week's show eulogizing an absolute legend both in the football world, and specifically within the Ravens family. Super Bowl champion Jacoby Jones tragically passed away this weekend at the age of 40. Josh and Dante kick off the show talking about what he meant for our generation of Ravens fans, and why he is an hall of fame personality who will be missed so much. Josh recaps his weekend at Wobble and tells us about his experience raving with Audrey and her crew. The Summer of Soccer is officially over with Argentina and Spain winning Copa America and the Euros, respectively. The boys break down both finales from Sunday, and take a look at the stylistic differences in the European game compared to the "American" game. Josh has a message for spectators of the security debacle in Miami preceding the Copa America final. Staying in the realm of soccer, the boys were elated to finally discuss Gregg Berhalter being relieved of his duties as USMNT head coach. Josh stipulates why this should be a starting line, not a finish line for the US Soccer Federation. Dante and Josh discuss potential replacements for Berhalter, including the commonly mentioned Jurgen Klopp, and Dante's personal pick, Herve Renard. Moving over to baseball, the Orioles dropped 5 of their last 6 games prior to the All Star break which they needed desperately. Limping into the break, the O's we're gifted the final game against the Yankees thanks to some bad defense. Corbin Burnes started the All Star game for the AL, with Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman also joining him in the starting lineup. Henderson also took part in the Home Run Derby on Monday, but unfortunately did not make it out of the first round. The wait is finally over: EA Sports College Football 25 is out and Dante is emotional about it. The boys wrap up talking some more Wobble, and giving out their music recommendations for the week. We missed you all. Thank you to everyone for listening, and we will see yall next week. Cheers!
The boys are BACK following their holiday hiatus with a very fun episode. Dante and Josh kick things off talking their Fourth of July weekend and recounting how they celebrated. The boys jump right on into the sports talk this week, as the Orioles have had some headlines over the last two weeks. First order of business, over a treacherous schedule and only one off day, the Orioles managed to finish the month of June 17-12. The boys break down what the birds coming out of the month means exactly moving forward, how they should address the holes on the roster with the impending deadline, and why this team setting a franchise record for home runs in a single month will pay dividends in the months to come. In the vein of strong performances, AL MVP front runner and 23-year-old shortstop Gunnar Henderson announced on Sunday Night Baseball that he will be participating in this year's HR Derby. Dante and Josh share their thoughts on the young superstar's partaking in the event, and why it could potentially be fireworks with the likes of Bobby Witt Jr., and former champ Pete Alonso also announcing their participation. The O's also had their All-Stars announced, which saw Gunnar and Adley Rutschman named starters, as well as SP Corbin Burnes selected to the squad. As many believed he should've got in on the first go 'round, Jordan Westberg was chosen as an alternate after Rafael Devers declined his invitation due to injury. Unfortunately, Ryan Mountcastle, Ryan O'Hearn, and Anthony Santander did not get selected and all of Baltimore is asking why. The boys tease conversation coming next week about our least favorite national team manager. Good friend of the program Audrey Gunther rejoins the show to talk music, pop culture, and everyone's favorite... conspiracy theories. Thank you all so much for rocking with us. We missed you last week. Cheers to you!
The boys jump right back into this week's show recapping their weekends that included Josh going to a Renaissance festival in West Virginia, and Dante traveling up to New York City for his first show of the summer. Josh recounts his Ren Fest experience and Dante tells us all about Galantis at the Brooklyn Mirage. Dante has a big announcement for himself and the pod: we officially have a brand ambassadorship! Dante has teamed up with the folks at Huega House to promote their brand. The hats are fantastic and the mantra of the company is an even better one: cherish the little things. It's a company all about enjoying life and Dante is extremely happy to be a part of the team. Use code “Dante” to get 15% off at check out! The boys kick off the sports talk by diving into the summer of Soccer, as the Euros are approaching the knockout stage. Italy had a massive draw against Croatia and Dante is fired up over the Azzurri getting a chance to defend their title. Also, is Garreth Soutgate the English Gregg Berhalter? Speaking of the infamous USMNT head coach, Copa America is officially underway as the USA has won their first match. The boys take a second to address just how special Christian Pulisic is and why we should both be appreciating him more, as well as surrounding him with better talent (and coaching) to capitalize on having one of the best players in the world representing the United States. The Orioles have reached a grueling point in their tough month of June that is taking a toll on them. After taking two of three in the Bronx, they were swept by the Astros and dropped the first two at home against Cleveland. Their pitching has been lackluster which begs the question: when will Mike Elias strike? Heston Kjerstad has been recalled (again) by the Orioles and Dante explains why he should be given everyday opportunities, or moved on from. The Florida Panthers have won the Stanley Cup in extremely exciting fashion. The boys break down how they felt about the game 7 result, the series as a whole, and why this was so big for a number of different individuals. Bleacher Report is talking about Lamar Jackson again and Dante has had enough. To kick off the music talk this week, the boys take a dive into the world of sitcoms. Josh raises the question, “who would be the best EDM artist for a ‘Dave' style show?” and the boys have some takes. No show next week as we're off for the Fourth of July, but we hope you all have the greatest weekend and holiday week of your lives. Be safe and cheers to all of you wonderful humans!
The boys kick off this week's show talking a little footy as Soccer Boy Summer is in full effect. The Euros started last weekend and Dante's Italy squad got a very fun 2-1 win over Albania. Josh kicks off his rant about Fox Sports and why it should absolutely not be this hard to watch a very important soccer game. The boys take a look at what Fox Sports does well, i.e. their coverage of football, but do not cover soccer nearly with the same grace. In other soccer news, the Copa America will be kicking off on Thursday this week, so the boys take a quick preview of the favorites to win the tournament, as well as why it's almost a win-win for the USMNT squad and their fans. The Orioles have been hit catastrophically by the injury bug this season, and that trend continues as Kyle Bradish will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. What looked like the best rotation in baseball will now never be realized as the Orioles have lost starters John Means, Kyle Bradish, and Tyler Wells to season ending arm injuries. Their trying June is still continuing strong as they take 2 of 3 games at home vs. the NL-leading Phillies in what was a phenomenal series including one of the best regular season games this year. Grayson Rodriguez looked dominant in his start Saturday evening, and the baby birds were on full display with Henderson, Rutschman, Westburg and Cowser all homering in Sunday's rout of Zach Wheeler. The series in New York against the Yankees is off to a contentious start with tempers flaring in the opening contest. The Ravens unveiled their brand new alternate helmets which will appear once this season, and the fanbase has mixed feelings. Josh and Dante give their thoughts as well as their predictions on when we will see the new buckets. A report surfaced this week about Rashod Bateman and his health entering last season, so the boys examine what a (presumably) healthy Bateman will look like this season and why they have high hopes for the Ravens receiver. The Boston Celtics are the 2024 NBA Champions after winning the most boring NBA finals in recent memory. Jayson Tatum tried his hardest to go viral and was just cringey in the process. The Edmonton Oilers have made a series out of the Stanley Cup Finals after winning the last two games in explosive fashion, leading to the question “can they come back from a 3-0 deficit?” Josh and Dante give out some song recommendations for the week and send you all into the greatest weekend of your lives. Cheers to all of you!
The boys are back and all over the place with this episode. This week's show is a mixed bag of everything from Gunnar Henderson's MVP pace, to hot dog eating contests. The boys kick off the show addressing the absolutely DEVASTATING news that Joey “Jaws” Chestnut will not be competing in the annual Nathan's hot dog contest on the fourth of July due to a conflicting sponsorship deal with Impossible Meats. Dante and Josh are both outraged over this, as should every other American sport enjoyer, and explain why this is frankly unconstitutional. Sticking in the realm of American-centric sports, the boys are talking soccer. This week, the topic of their footy discussion revolves around the USMNT and, more specifically, the head coach. Josh kicks off this part of the show by getting on his soap box and asking the question, “why is Gregg Burhalter the head coach of this team?” and frankly he has many points. The mismanagement of arguably the best crop of talent this country has ever seen is only scratching the surface when it comes to GGG's inexcusable lack of results in his tenure as coach. The boys take this conversation into the deep end diving into the US Soccer Federation and why they believe the decisions made, along with the prioritization of the MLS over the USMNT, is soulless and should be considered organizational malpractice. All this to say that the USMNT are winning IN SPITE of GGG, not because of him (a lot like a beloved Baltimore team helmed by a unanimous MVP). Moving away from soccer, college basketball made some headlines this week as UConn head coach Dan Hurley was rumored to be “zeroed in” on by the Los Angeles Lakers, only for Hurley to confirm a day later that he will be returning to UConn. Josh and Dante explain why this is ultimately good for all parties involved, especially college basketball as a whole. Transitioning over to the Baltimore teams, the Orioles have been WHITE HOT over the last two weeks, seeing production from their usual suspects as well as a catalytic effort from… the bullpen! O's relievers have posted incredible numbers in the 13 game stretch of late and we finally have to give them love. Gunnar Henderson continues his MVP campaign only adding to his insane pace on the year. The injury bug has bit the O's yet again as Danny Coulombe heads to the IL, but Jorge Mateo is activated and Dean Kremer is rumored to be making a rehab start in the near future. The Baltimore Ravens have begun their mandatory minicamp and have all their key players in attendance (shocker). Ronnie Stanley has much to prove, however we believe he can return to form. Lastly on sports, it's a major championship week which only can mean one thing… Scottie Scheffler no matter what. The boys shell out some song recommendations this week, as well as some unhinged conversations, and we send you into a fantastic weekend. Cheers to all of you. We love YOU!
The boys are back this week with an absolutely loaded episode full of miscellaneous sports happenings to talk about. Dante kicks off the show discussing his newest hobby and how it falls right in line with Chet Hanks' proclamation for the upcoming “white boy summer.” Josh starts off the show recapping his weekend, which included a local rave in an abandoned warehouse (how cliche) but tells a story regarding one of the most interesting t-shirts, and characters wearing said shirt, he's ever encountered. Diving into the sports talk of the week, the Baltimore Orioles have officially kicked off their toughest month of the season, and have done so valiantly. Winning two of three in each divisional series at home against Boston and Tampa Bay, as well as winning the first two in Toronto, the O's are showing that they are still the team to beat in the AL East. Dante and Josh take a look at the upcoming weeks for the Orioles and why this month will still be a very daunting test for them. In unfortunate news, GM Mike Elias announced that pitchers John Means and Tyler Wells are done for the season with arm injuries. John Means had Tommy John surgery for the second time in three years, and as he heads into free agency, it could mean the end of his tenure as an Oriole. The boys talk about Means and what he's done for this team, and ultimately why they are eternally grateful for being the lone bright spot in otherwise dark times for this franchise in recent history. Moreover, in light of this news, Dante implores Orioles fans to stay calm as we wait for a trade, or multiple trades, to happen because this all but forces Elias' hand to make some moves for pitching reinforcements. On a more positive note for the birds, another top prospect has hit the roster. Infielder, and long discussed prospect, Connor Norby has officially made it to the bigs! Jorge Mateo went to the concussion IL, opening the door for Norby to finally make his major league debut… and he capitalized with a home run in his second game. The boys are pumped about Norby finally being up and just hope that he's here for longer than a week. On the football side of Baltimore, the boys jump into some “football city” discourse as Patrick Queen is making headlines. The former Raven has made some statements in recent weeks, but none that have ruffled more feathers than his most recent: Pittsburgh has better food than Baltimore. In non-Baltimore related sports news, Justin Jefferson got BROKEN OFF signing a 4 year extension with the Minnesota Vikings that makes him the highest paid non-QB in NFL history. The boys break down why this contract is actually incredible for the Vikings, and why Jettas is worth every penny. Also, thanks to CJ Stroud's recent appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, the boys embrace debate: would you rather have Eli Manning or Aaron Rodgers' career? Both the NBA and NHL finals matchups are set and the boys give their feelings on the matchups, and why the USA has the chance to do the funniest thing ever. Real Madrid wins the Champions League, because of course they did, and Josh gives a little history lesson on why Real will seemingly never have a bad team. We wrap the show with some music recommendations for “what are we listening to” and the boys send us all into what will hopefully be the best weekend of our lives. Cheers to each and every one of you! We love you all.
On this week's episode, the boys jump into their weekly conversation exactly like we all expected: talking lacrosse. Josh's weekend consisted of, in his words, “watching the Terps lose another championship” after falling to the, now, back to back champion Notre Dame Fighting Irish. This leads the boys into a trip down memory lane talking high school, college, and professional lacrosse, including Dante recounting one of the best live sporting events he's ever witnessed. After a rigorous discussion about the Maryland-backed religion that is the twine, the boys offer their condolences and say a few words on the Pac-12 legend Bill Walton who tragically passed away this week. Both Josh and Dante have their own thoughts on the life that was extremely well-lived by Walton, and they take some time at the start of the show to eulogize the Legend. Staying in the world of college athletics, the NCAA is involved in a class action lawsuit in which a ruling will require them to pay millions of dollars in back pay to student athletes. Additionally, the ruling will allow power conferences to pay their athletes beginning in 2025. The boys give the information they know as of now on the matter, as well as their thoughts as to what this will mean for the future of College Football. As a pro-student athlete show, Dante just wants to keep the tradition and heart of college football alive, and Josh explains why he believes the sport we know and love will or won't be affected. Diving into baseball this week, the Orioles' regular season sweepless streak is now over. Dante gives his thoughts on why this was a “big fat nothing burger” even though getting swept by the Cardinals is never what you want in a series. Josh also, allegedly, has his manhood in a vice grip… don't worry, he explains why and how. Cole Irvin returned to the starting rotation following Dean Kremer heading to the IL, and he continued to shove in another excellent outing Monday afternoon. Kyle Stowers is finally getting more playing time, and it's no secret as to why. Mike Elias made a trade to acquire a bullpen arm, but unfortunately it didn't pan out in Thyago Vieira's first appearance with the O's. Lastly, the boys get mad about a list. Josh and Dante dive into a very contentious discussion about Apple Music's top 100 albums, and trust me when you say you do not want to miss this. They wrap up the show with their song recommendations based on what they're currently listening to, and they send all of you beautiful people into what will hopefully be the best weekend of your lives. Cheers!
On this week's episode of the show, the boys start the program just as we all thought they would: talking Premier League soccer! Josh explains the emotions felt as a Liverpool fan on the EPL's final day of the season, gives a very nice sendoff to gaffer Jurgen Klopp, and explains why Man City is essentially the Golden State Warriors of the EPL. Moving into the Baltimore sports talk of the week, the boys jump back into the Orioles as, after last week, it seems the bats have awoken and started putting up some runs. Dante and Josh take a look at the last couple games for the O's and what's been working for them over the last week. Unfortunately, the problem is still the problem as the bullpen still can't seem to get their issues figured out. Grayson Rodriguez delivered a gem on Saturday in his return, which was inevitably for naught as the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. The boys explain why we are now entering trade season and Mike Elias should be taking the temperature of potential trade suitors around the league. Lastly on the O's, Corbin Burnes delivered as the O's have expected him to do, and this time he finally got some run support. Moving on to the Ravens, the 2024 NFL schedules were released last week, and the Ravens lead the league with six (6) primetime games. The boys take a look at the schedule and why they actually believe there are more wins out there for the Ravens than most pundits around league media. For some bonus NFL chatter that we're all clamoring for, the boys take a quick look at the rest of the AFC North, as well as the major players in the AFC. Spoiler alert: there are two “super bowl contenders” that Dante does not believe will be as good as many expect them to be. Xander Schauffle won his first major championship at Valhalla in the PGA Championship this weekend, but the story of the major was world #1 Scottie Scheffler's arrest Friday morning on second degree assault charges. Naturally, Dante was focused on one thing: the twitter memes. The boys are joined by Josh's good friend Audrey Gunther who breaks down Providence University sports, EDM culture, hotel chairs, the moon landing, and just about everything in between. Thank you all so much for rocking with us. Cheers to you all!
On this week's episode of The Wave Podcast, the boys kick off the show discussing Josh's recent move to Raleigh, NC ahead of beginning his new position at Duke. He talks the move, why he feels familiar on Duke's campus, and how dope of a “gym” Cameron Indoor really is. The boys jump into this week's sports talk with the Orioles over the last few days. The Birds split their two game series in DC with the Nationals, took 2 against the Diamondbacks at home, and dropped the first of 3 at home vs the Blue Jays. Seemingly everyone is talking about the bullpen being the Orioles' biggest issue, but Dante gives his feelings on why he believes it's actually the O's offense that should be blamed for their recent woes. Included in that mix, players such as Cedric Mullins and Colton Cowser have struggled, and when Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman are not driving production, the Orioles' offense seems to be fighting uphill. The Orioles made some roster moves this week, recalling OF Kyle Stowers and optioning OF Heston Kjerstad, as well as activating OF Austin Hays and DFA OF Ryan McKenna. The boys give their thoughts on the moves and why this could be a long term 3-D chess move for Mike Elias. The Birds have a home stint against the Mariners this upcoming weekend before hitting the road, and Dante congratulates Paul Skenes on life after making his MLB debut for the Pirates last weekend. Heading over to the Ravens, the NFL is leaking their schedule ahead of the official release Wednesday night, and have announced that the Chiefs will hang their banner on opening night against the Ravens to kick off the season. Josh and Dante explain why this is actually a good thing for the Ravens and that it will be the perfect test for this team in a do-or-die season. College football is right around the corner and ESPN has announced their location for College Gameday in week 1. Baltimore's favorite horse race, the Preakness, is back at Pimlico this weekend and the boys only have one thing to say: Bring back the Port-a-potty race. Josh and Dante dish out their song recommendations this week, and we send you into another phenomenal weekend. We love you all so much. Cheers!
On this week's episode of the show, the boys kick off by Josh breaking down his first festival experience. Josh took on Breakaway in Charlotte this past weekend, and he gives us his overall thoughts and feelings, as well as who some of the best performances were. Before jumping into this week's sports talk, Josh also provides a HUGE life update as he is officially leaving Liberty University for a spot at (check's clipboard) Duke University. A surprising move for a lifelong Maryland fan, but an incredible one nonetheless and we're super happy for him. The sports talk this week starts off with the Orioles as they're on a bit of a hot streak entering this week, coming off a Three of Four game series win vs the Yankees, and a sweep of the Reds. O's pitchers are on FIRE lately, spearheaded by the returns of Kyle Bradish and John Means, who delivered an ace-level first outing. Moving across the B/C lot to M&T Bank stadium, the Ravens made news by signing four of their rookies this week, including first round pick Nate Wiggins. They were the first team in the league to lock up their top pick. Second round pick Roger Rosengarten fired Dante up this week with his quote about protecting Lamar Jackson, and the boys talk about how this offensive line could look with some potential starting pieces in the locker room already. Lastly in the NFL, much to Dante's dismay, Odell Beckham has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. Dante is sad. The Kentucky Derby was this weekend and Mystik Dan won a great race. Anthony Edwards is proving to everyone that he is appointment television, as well as (potentially) Michael Jordan's biological son. The boys wrap up with their music for the week, and we ride off into another fantastic weekend. Cheers to you all for coming back and rocking with us each week. Love yall!
On this week's episode of the Wave Podcast, the boys start out by talking some live music. Josh is headed down to Charlotte this weekend for Breakaway festival, and the boys talk about their shows they have lined up over the next couple months. Our guy Bobby Santoni posted a few live show dates, so be sure to check out his Instagram for those! The boys kick off this week's sports talk by diving into the last few days in Orioles baseball. The O's take 1 of 3 at home against the A's in a rough offensive series, but are currently 2-0 through the first two games at home vs the Yankees. Jackson Holliday was optioned to AAA Norfolk on Friday, and spoiler alert, Dante is irate. On the brighter side, John Means and Kyle Bradish were announced to be rejoining the big league club this week, with both pitchers set to make their first starts this week. Josh and Dante discuss what getting these two arms back will mean for this pitching staff, and ultimately how it may help Mike Elias address the issue that is the bullpen. The boys wrap up the baseball talk this week by diving into the absolutely monstrous run that Gunnar Henderson is on to start the season. Dante's preseason MVP pick is looking to pay dividends come this October. Transitioning over to the NFL, this past weekend was the NFL draft so the boys dive into the 2024 Ravens rookie class. Dante is over the moon about first round pick Nate Wiggins, and discusses his overall feelings on the class as a whole. Josh gives his thoughts on the draft by Eric DeCosta, and whether or not he believes the team improved enough ahead of this season. The Falcons made a big splash on Thursday night drafting Washington QB Michael Penix Jr, and Dante still cannot understand the move. Josh and Dante give their thoughts on the draft as a whole this year. Josh eulogizes the 2023-24 Washington Capitals after being swept by the NY Rangers in the first round. The boys dish out their songs for the week, and they conclude this week's show with Tom from the band “Townies” and we send you into a fun filled Cinco de Mayo weekend. Cheers!
The boys are back this week and Dante gets to say the words he's been waiting years to shout on this podcast: Reggie Bush has been given his Heisman back. The boys kick off the show on a high, discussing why they're thankful for Reggie being reinstated as the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner by the NCAA. This spurred a conversation on Josh's wellbeing as a Liverpool fan and why his happiness is perpetually being edged by his teams' inability to close out successful seasons. To kick off the Baltimore sports talk, the boys dive into the last week of Orioles baseball, breaking down the 3 game sweep of the Twins at home, taking 2 of 3 in Kansas City against a hot young Royals squad, and another 2 out of 3 in Anaheim on the backs of some strong offensive outings from the young guns. Cedric Mullins has been a topic of conversation around the Orioles' fan base for some time, but the start to the season has only proven that he should be an everyday fixture for the near future. Mullins is off to a hot start offensively, as well as continuing his defensive dominance in center field. Gunnar Henderson is also proving a lot of O's fans right as his first month to the season has been nothing short of meteoric. Dante has a bold claim to make about the 22-year old's potential, and explains why, on April 24th, he should be taken seriously as an MVP threat this year. Colton Cowser and Jordan Westburg have been generating national media attention as both young studs are shedding light on themselves with their offensive abilities. Both Westburg and Cowser are among the league's best in hard hit percentage, and Cowser is cementing himself as a potential AL ROY dark horse. Lastly on the O's, the boys give a temperature check on Jackson Holliday and, ultimately, why they are still not worried about the lack of production coming from the #1 overall prospect. Moving across I-395 to the Ravens, big news came out of the Castle this week as the Ravens announced they have extended receiver Rashod Bateman through 2026. Dante and Josh, as “Bateman Truthers” explain why this is a great move for the club on a number of fronts. Transitioning into the weekend ahead, the boys take a look at how the Bateman extension will alter the draft strategy for the Ravens, particularly if they will now move off WR completely in round one and shift their focus entirely on the offensive line. Dante gives his thoughts on some guys he likes across the mid rounds and why the Ravens should target a few in particular. Josh and Dante give their feelings on the JJ McCarthy discourse and why they believe he is NOT the fourth-best Quarterback in this draft class. Josh addresses the unfortunate news regarding the Arizona Coyotes and why it is ultimately a fault of ownership and management for the team not having success in the desert. The boys give their music they've been listening to this week, as well as a concert review from Dante, and they send you into another fantastic weekend. Thank you all so much for listening. Cheers!
The boys kick off this week's show discussing the teased conversation of coach John Calipari leaving the University of Kentucky to become the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Dante was shocked by the news, and Josh sheds some light on why Tyson's chicken is behind luring Cal away from the wildcats down to Fayetteville. We also get into why conference realignment and SMU joining the ACC is really at the root of all this coach movement. The boys dive into the last week of O's baseball, starting with a three game sweep of the Red Sox in Boston. Colton Cowser has announced his presence to the entire world, notching his first two big league bombs in one of three wins against the Red Sox, and he has not slowed down since. The hot streak for Cowser has continued through the beginning of the home stretch, tallying a home run and multiple hits against both the Brewers and Twins. Jackson Holliday made his major league debut last Wednesday, and finally recorded his first hit this Sunday at home vs. Milwaukee. Dante and Josh implore the fans why they should not lose hope in the young star. The series vs. the Twins is off to a hot start with the O's capturing two, with players like Gunnar Henderson and Cedric Mullins beginning to heat up. Lastly on the O's, the boys discuss Tyler Wells going to the IL, why he should not start another game for the birds, and how Mike Elias should address the current hole that is the starting rotation. Across the B/C lot, there's some news for the Ravens this week as well. Wide Receiver and Return Specialist formerly of the Buffalo Bills, Deonte Harty, has signed a one-year deal to return home to Baltimore. Dante explains why this is a great move for multiple reasons, including one relating to youth baseball. OTAs are underway for the Ravens and Rashod Bateman's absence has people talking. Josh and Dante weigh in on whether or not 7's attendance means anything. Scottie Scheffler captured his second Master's championship in three years, proving two things: he is the best golfer on the planet, and Dante is still a dumbass. The boys talk a little bit of music including what they've been listening to, and we send yall into what will hopefully be a great holiday weekend. Have fun and be safe. Cheers!
On this week's episode, the boys kick off by celebrating ONE HUNDRED EPISODES. Dante and Josh are so unbelievably thankful that you beautiful idiots let their ridiculous thoughts enter your brains once a week. It's been such a fun ride and we wouldn't trade it for the world. You all are the best in the world. The boys kick off the sports talk this week breaking down the March Madness Men's and Women's national championships. The UConn Huskies take their second title in as many seasons, and the USC Gamecocks complete a perfect 38-0 season. Josh and Dante give their thoughts on what a second consecutive title means for Danny Hurley's legacy in the pantheon of NCAA Basketball, and why Dawn Staley should be mentioned as well in the “GOAT” conversation. The Orioles dropped two of three in Pittsburgh largely due to torrential offensive woes, led by Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman. The boys talk about what the offense is lacking and how they can get back on track. They take games one and two in Boston thanks in part to some offensive help, and hopefully Colton Cowser has cemented himself as an everyday starter. Lastly, a live reaction to the breaking news of Jackson Holliday being called up to join the big league roster. Kyle Van Noy has re-signed with the Ravens on a two year deal, and just like the boys said a few weeks ago, this was one that EDC needed to get done. The boys discuss a “Mount Rushmore” on this week's show, this time discussing who deserves to be on the MR of EDM artists. The boys agree on some, but have a few interesting takes on their remaining spots. Lastly, we wrap with our new “what are we listening to” segment, and we send you into a fantastic weekend. Cheers to you!
The boys are back yet again and this time, Josh is fighting the post-concert bug following his MASSIVE bass show in Baltimore last weekend. He tells us all about the acts like Ray Volpe, LAYZ, ATLiens, and of course Excision. To kick off this week's sports talk, the boys begin with a much needed discussion on the temperature of Women's college basketball, and specifically how much of a DAWG Caitlin Clark is. The matchup between Iowa and LSU this week was highly anticipated, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Josh goes into a further explanation on why the star power in this game, as well as the NCAA as a whole, is incredible for the development of women's college basketball. Looking over at the Men's side, the final four of 2024 is officially set, and (shocker, we know) Dante was wrong about a sports take. The Alabama Crimson Tide shove it directly into his face and made the final four, along with one-seeds UConn and Purdue, as well as America's sweetheart DJ Burnes and the #11 seed NC State Wolfpack. The boys give their thoughts on these four outlasting the competition, and why they're so looking forward to these matchups. The Orioles season has finally started, and through one week the O's are 4-2. Despite winning two of three in both series so far, Orioles fans are mad online about Brandon Hyde's lineups (again, shocker). Dante and Josh look at why they think it's silly to have this stance in April, but also why some concerns being voiced are valid. The Houston Texans made a huge splash trade acquiring WR Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a future 2nd round pick on Wednesday, so the boys give their thoughts and why the Texans are doing everything the Ravens should have done. Lastly, the boys wrap up with their latest "what are we listening to" segment, and we send you all into the greatest weekend of your lives. We love and appreciate each and every one of you so much. We can't believe you support us as amazingly as you do every week. Cheers to yall!
On today's episode of The Wave Podcast the boys are back and this time, Dante jumps into his recap of his FIRST experience down in Miami for Ultra Music Festival. Dant jumps into the overall experience at the festival and how the weather tried its hardest to stop the party, but ultimately the AMAZING team at Ultra worked tirelessly to get the park grounds ready to party on Saturday and Sunday. The vibes were immaculate down in Miami as Dante recounts his time in the crowds, and how the EDM community is one of positivity and unity despite what some may think. In terms of the actual music itself, our boy tells us the acts he was able to catch, who he thought were the top performers of the weekend, and also who surprised him the most with their sets. Josh and Dante also break down a fun first weekend of the NCAA Tournament and March Madness that was not as filled with upsets as we may have thought, but certainly some key ones to boot (cough cough Dante's bracket). The boys break down some of the big notable upsets from the weekend, and take a look at the remaining 16 teams ahead of the sweet 16 and elite 8 coming up this weekend. The NFL is about to enter draft season, but free agency is still happening. This week, the Ravens lose yet another key starter, this time it's edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney who signed a 2 year, $20 million deal with the Carolina Panthers. Josh and Dante take a look at why this is going to be a big blow for the Ravens defense, and why it's even more crucial that Kyle Van Noy, who confirmed is talking with EDC, is brought back to Baltimore. Today is officially Opening Day for our beloved O's so the boys take a look at the fun that is opening day in Baltimore, as well as their feelings on Jackson Holliday not being a part of said fun. Lastly, the boys wrap the show with their new favorite segment “what are we listening to?” with some fun bangers for you all this week. Dante is fresh off Miami Music Week, and Josh is locked in with his vibes as always. We cannot thank you all enough for allowing us to be a small part of your lives each week. We are endlessly thankful for the support you all give us, and we will see yall next week. Cheers fam!
The boys are back this week and in this episode, they welcome in the best weekend in the sports calendar: the opening of March Madness. Josh and Dante run through the bracket and give their overarching thoughts on this year's bracket, some longshots and upsets they like across the board, and some storylines they're looking for this year. Dante shares his thoughts on some of the teams in the tournament (the Alabama Crimson Tide, for one) and who he thinks are primed to make a run, as well as who he thinks are primed for an early exit. After an extended bracket talk, the boys run the rundown of Ravens news this week. Odell Beckham Jr. shares a heartfelt goodbye after his first, and seemingly final, year as a Baltimore Raven. As anticipated, Dante is beside himself and playing “Marvin's Room” at full blast. Josh gives his takes on why he thought OBJ would be a good fit to return to Baltimore and ultimately how the Ravens should address his now absence in the WR room. Kevin Zeitler announced he is signing a 1 year deal with the Detroit Lions for $6m. Dante and Josh run through why this is a perfect fit for the Lions and that they are ultimately very happy for both parties landing this deal. Dan Campbell is getting a good one in KZ. Jadeveon Clowney's future remains up in the air as he's taken visits with both the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets, while also allegedly maintaining interest in a return to the Ravens. Lastly, the Ravens announced Tuesday that they have re-signed DB Arthur Maulet to a two year deal. Josh and Dante are ecstatic about the move, stating why Maulet was an essential retention for the Ravens and how his mentality will ultimately play a big factor in his role with the team. The Orioles are officially inside a week from Opening Day, and the boys are saying the same shit again: Jackson Holliday belongs on the opening day roster. The kid will simply not stop playing lights out baseball and we believe he is going to be at the Yard next week. Lastly, in spirit of Miami Music Week, Josh and Dante run back their “what are we listening to” segment and share some big tunes for everyone. Lastly, Dante brings Scoot and, friend of the pod, Marc Roche back to the fold this week to run through their full MLB season preview. The boys give their predictions for each division and how they will shape out, who will win the World Series, MVPs, Rookies of the Year, and their favorite futures bets as well. Thank you all for rocking with us each week, and a special thank you to everyone who joined our March Madness bracket challenge! We'll see y'all next week. Cheers fam!
The boys are back once again this week with a little extra excitement in their voices. Josh and Dante jump back into the show this week, once again, with talking some college basketball. Dante has another team this week that he is putting on ALMOST fraud watch. The boys break down this team, some of the power 5 conferences and who they're excited to see face off in their respective conference championships. To cap off their college hoops talk this week, they name a few teams they believe will turn some heads over the next few days and who could make a run in the tournament beginning next week. Moving into the football talk this week, the boys dive into the first headline of the week being Justin Madubuike's MASSIVE contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens. The all-pro DT coming off his best year as a pro got broken off in a big way to remain in Baltimore for the next four years. Josh and Dante break down what this means for Madubuike, why the timing of the deal was so important, and how Eric DeCosta can approach the rest of free agency. After the Madubuike signing, the new league year began with the “legal tampering period” on Monday afternoon. The Ravens lost a number of players, including some key starters including Geno Stone and Patrick Queen, who went to division rivals. Josh and Dante break down the loss of players for the Ravens this week and how they'll fit in with their new teams. The Ravens also made a HUGE splash signing, finally getting their guy and adding Derrick Henry after many attempts over the years. The boys break down how they felt about the signing of Henry and ultimately how it will impact the team this year. Josh and Dante also take a look at some of the big signings of free agents around the league this week, and which teams have undeniably gotten better since Monday. Moving on from the NFL, the boys stop and take a second to admire the grand slam Jackson Holliday sent into orbit last week. They also put their latest plea into the universe for Mike Elias to have Jackson on the opening day roster. To wrap up the show this week, Josh and Dante introduce a new segment! The boys over the coming weeks will spend some time at the end of each show dropping some songs or albums they want to share with all of you. This week, Dante throws out a couple tracks he's been bumping in preparation for Miami Music Week, and Josh gives some Subtronics after seeing his show this past weekend, as well as some other albums and bands as well. Thank you all so very much for coming back each week and rocking with us. We love you! Cheers and happy St. Paddy's day to all of you!
On this week's episode of the Wave Podcast, the boys kick off the show by letting Dante get something off his chest: the Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team is officially on his list. Saturday's college basketball slate consisted of a number of big time games, one of which was Dante's biggest play of the season. Turns out the Tennessee Volunteers were too much for the Tide to handle at home and not only did they not cover -3.5, the Vols won outright. The boys then spur into a conversation about the upcoming NCAA tournament and how this year feels especially up for grabs compared to years prior. Moving on from college athletics, the boys dive into some Orioles spring training talk. Jackson Holliday has woken up going on an absolute TEAR at the plate causing O's fans to have the same exact thought: will he be on the Opening Day roster? Josh and Dante get into why the 20 year old phenom in the making is putting pressure on Mike Elias to do what everyone believes he should and make him an Opening Day starter. Also on the Orioles' front, Colton Cowser and Kyle Stowers both continue their scorching hot Spring presenting another issue to GM Mike Elias, that being which of them should be a cog in the wheel of the major league roster, and which should be used as a potential trade chip? Josh and Dante dive into why this is a great problem for them to address and arguably the best spot the Orioles have been in prior to starting a season in a long time. Lastly on the Orioles, Gunnar Henderson is back and we can all sing Hallelujah. Moving on to the Ravens and the NFL as a whole, Tuesday was the league's Franchise Tag deadline, on which we saw a number of star players get the franchise tag, including our very own Justin Madubuike. Dante and Josh explain why this was really the only play the Ravens had in the situation, and what it ultimately means for other players around the league ahead of free agency. Lastly, to wrap up the show this week, the boys take a look at some of the top free agents the Ravens have and where they believe those players' best fits around the league may be. A huge thank you to each and every one of you for listening each week and indulging us on our silly little sports talk journey. We are so thankful for you and love you all. Cheers to you!
The boys are back this week and they kick off the show with a topic that's been hot in the streets over the last few days: court storming. Duke lost to Wake Forest on Saturday which preceded the Wake Forest fans storming the court and “injuring” (sort of) Duke star Kyle Filipowski. Josh and Dante give their thoughts on the matter and, more importantly, why they believe court and field storming is an essential aspect of college sports. Moving into the professional realm, the Orioles are officially playing games which means we are one step closer to baseball season being here. The Orioles had their first game on Saturday in which we saw Corbin Burnes take the bump and SHOVE, Adley Rutschman leave the yard in his first at bat, as well as Colton Cowser walking off in long ball fashion. The birds are looking good so far, and Dante gives a few names he thinks we should be looking out for over the remainder of spring training. Manager Brandon Hyde also gave us an update on pitcher Kyle Bradish and, much to all of Baltimore's pleasure, things are looking up for the young stud with him participating in some long distance flat ground throwing this week. The NFL world is still buzzing as it tends to do even when there are no games being played. The league announced that the salary cap will be shooting up meaning business is BOOMING… and we all owe Taylor Swift a big thank you. We get into what the elevated cap means for the Ravens as it currently stands and how this will help, if at all, retain some key players. Eric DeCosta and John Harbaugh addressed the media from Indianapolis this week and GM EDC actually had some stuff to say. Justin Madubuike will remain in Baltimore at least throughout the upcoming season, likely using the franchise tag on the stud D-Lineman if a long term deal is not agreed upon before next week's deadline. Also, EDC has thoughts on how they're constructing next year's team. He and John Harbaugh have a vision that includes building around Lamar Jackson, “rebuilding” the offensive line, and making over the running back room. Last but not least, Dante dips his toes into the draft process giving us some of his favorite prospects heading into combine week. Some guys are players he wants in Baltimore, and others are players he believes will shine in the NFL. Thank you all so much for tuning in. See yall next week! PS: Don't forget that Max had two (2) sodas
The boys are back on this week's episode following the first official week with no football, and it went about exactly as you think it may have. To kick off the show, just as everyone expected, Josh and Dante start by giving their thoughts on the NBA all star weekend, why the dunk contest sucks, and why Caitlin Clark and Women's college basketball are absolutely AWESOME right now. Additionally, the Sabrina vs. Steph 3-point shootout was a great event and the NBA should continue to do things like that. Moving into the sports and teams that our boys do actually follow closely, they kick off the Ravens talk this week addressing (after forgetting last week) the fact that Lamar Jackson won his second NFL MVP and was one vote away from earning the honor unanimously. The boys basically reiterate everything they've said since Christmas on why Lamar winning the award isn't a surprise, and also issue an earnest “thank you” to Lamar for what he's done this season and for Ravens fans as a whole. In other Ravens news, the team announced this week that they've extended receiver Nelson Agholor on a one year deal. Josh and Dante both agree that this is a great signing for the ball club and what they should do moving forward with the now unlikely reunion of guard Kevin Zeitler, who was not extended before Monday's deadline as many anticipated he would. Following some housekeeping around the Ravens, notable Baltimore sports social media figure Zach Bollinger joins the show in a GREAT talk to discuss all things Ravens and Orioles. From how he got his start in sports media, to the infamous “Johnny” tweet, breaking down football with ESPN's Mina Kimes, to his Baltimore Orioles hair power rankings, Zach chops it up with the boys. Hope y'all enjoy this one. We are so thankful for each and every one of you. Cheers to another incredible week of life.
On this week's episode of the show, the boys break down Super Bowl 58 and the Kansas City Chiefs lifting their third Lombardi trophy in five years. The Chiefs is still the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes is inevitable, and Brock Purdy is who we thought he was. The boys recap the game and give their takes on all things Super Bowl LVIII. Kyle Shanahan has now been involved with three teams that have blown double-digit leads in Super Bowls, so Josh and Dante weigh in on some of the Kyle Shanahan discourse that has been floating around the internet since Sunday's game. Brock Purdy, on paper, had a decent game, but Josh and Dante give their thoughts on why Purdy being a game manager ultimately led to the 49ers losing this Super Bowl. On the other side, Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce are, unfortunately, inevitable. This Chiefs' offense was the worst of his career, but Mahomes still led them to another Lombardi, proving that he is one of the greatest NFL players of all time. Dante stakes his claim that Mahomes is already a top 10 player in the history of the game, and that if he passes Joe Montana in Super Bowl wins (4), that he will have a case for being the “GOAT” over Tom Brady. In addition to Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, Steve Spagnuolo is an absolute madman who, once again, came ready to play with a phenomenal game plan that ruined Brock Purdy and the Niners' offense day. Moving away from the big game, the NFL is officially in the offseason, which means a plethora of question marks surrounding the Baltimore Ravens. A laundry list of key free agents, a depleted coaching staff, the looming NFL draft, and salary cap issues are at the top of Eric DeCosta's to-do list. The boys give their thoughts on how to address the cap, and who of the pending free agents should be prioritized by EDC. Lastly, Pitchers & Catchers reported Wednesday meaning that Spring Training is HERE. Dante and Josh are extremely excited for the O's and cannot wait for the birds to get going. To round out the show this week, the boys are joined by the pod's favorite DJ to talk all things EDM, Philly sports climate, Ravens' season ending, and the Orioles upcoming year. Bobby Santoni gives his thoughts on house music and the future of the genre, as well as why Mike Macdonald should be the current head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. HUGE episode this week for y'all, and we cannot thank you enough for tuning in. We love you all so much. Cheers!
The boys are back again this week and it's officially SUPER BOWL week! Before getting to the big game, Josh and Dante address the MASSIVE move made by Mike Elias and the Orioles, acquiring Corbin Burnes from the Brewers in exchange for DL Hall, Joey Ortiz and a competitive balance pick. Dante breaks down Burnes stats over the last couple years and why his addition provides a desperately needed anchor to the O's rotation, and Josh explains why, for the first time, he's more excited than ever for an Orioles season. Moving across the A and B lots to the Bank, the Ravens have found their next defensive coordinator. Former linebackers coach and all pro Ravens linebacker Zach Orr will be calling the plays for the defense in 2024. The boys weigh in on what Orr will bring to the team and why he was ultimately the right man for the job. In the same vein but more unfortunately, the rest of the Ravens' coaching staff was picked apart by the NFL this week. Anthony Weaver is off to Miami to fill their defensive coordinator job, as is Dennard Wilson to Tennessee for the same position. The boys address the openings and how the Ravens are going to need to respond. Finally to the big game, the Chiefs and 49ers will play for the 58th Lombardi trophy on Sunday. The boys take a deep dive into both sidelines in the matchup, Dante does a preview of the unit matchups, and both our guys give their ultimate predictions for who will win this year's Super Bowl. To wrap up the show, Scoot makes his long awaited return to give his FULL Super Bowl LVIII best bets. Scoot and Dante dive into which sides they like, their favorite props, and the always enjoyable super bowl favorites. Thank you all for tuning in. We hope you enjoy. Cheers!
We're back and everything sucks again. The Ravens season is officially over after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 17-10 in the AFC Championship. Josh and Dante gather for a group therapy session in, what can only be described as the “Maryland weather of podcast episodes” observing the highs and lows experienced this week. They kick off the show breaking down the game. Dante gives his thoughts on why this breakdown isn't much compared to some others because, simply put, the Ravens got beat. Josh and Dante both get into the story of the game and just what exactly went wrong for Baltimore in this one. In the fallout from this AFC Championship loss, the boys take a look at the overwhelming fallout that took place thereafter. They take deep dives into John Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson, Todd Monken, Mike Macdonald, the Baltimore Ravens organization, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs becoming a dynasty, and just about anything else they could get their paws on after this week. Mike Macdonald has officially moved on and become the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, and Dante is genuinely distraught over the matter. The boys examine what losing their defensive wonderkind will mean for this team and ultimately the future of the franchise. Looking beyond the loss of Mike Macdonald, the Ravens also have a laundry list of upcoming free agents in a very rapidly-approaching free agency, leaving Eric DeCosta and John Harbaugh with a multitude of questions that need to be answered and fast. Super Bowl LVIII is officially set with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Chiefs in Vegas next weekend. The boys give their early thoughts on the game, with a more in-depth preview coming on deck in episode 91. Lastly, in much more positive news, the Baltimore Orioles have FINALLY been sold to an ownership group spearheaded by billionaire private equity manager David Rubenstein.
Back to the grind this week with vibes high as the boys have a LOT to get into on this episode. Kicking off the show, before any Ravens talk, the boys open up discussing the Wednesday night bombshell of Jim Harbaugh leaving the University of Michigan to coach the Los Angeles Chargers. Josh and Dante dive into exactly what this means for the Chargers looking ahead, what Jim Harbaugh leaving Michigan will look like for the reigning national champions, and how the union of Harbaugh and Herbert will go for years to come. Next, the boys can finally get into the topic at hand. Last Saturday, the Ravens took down the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional round, by a score of 34-10, and punched their ticket to the AFC Championship. Josh and Dante break down the game, the highs and lows, the ultimate headlines as a result of the contest, and as always: Lamar MF Jackson. Hosting the AFC Championship for the first time since 1971, and also the first time in Ravens franchise history, Baltimore will welcome Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs to town for a chance to represent the AFC in this year's Super Bowl. The boys take a look at both sides coming into this game - the injury reports, including Mark Andrews AND Marlon Humphrey returning to practice, the unit matchups, and then wrapped up as always with their Keys to Victory. Dante ends the show with his best bets for the NFL conference championship round, and the boys send you into what will hopefully be another incredible weekend of football and life. We cannot thank you all enough for rocking with us this week and every week, and we hope we'll see you again next time. Cheers!
