Today I'm sitting down with debut romance author, actress, singer and songwriter Pia Mia, to chat about her book "Sand, Sequins and Silicone". I am so excited to have Pia on the show today, given as I am such a fan of her music (currently am listening to Let's Do It Again as I type this) and couldn't WAIT to read her debut novel! It was such a pleasure speaking with Pia about her music background, her acting background (YES she was in the "After" movie adaptations -- and Anna Todd herself is the one publishing this book!!!), and of course what it was like to write her first-ever romance novel. This was such a fun episode, I loved learning more about Pia's life and how she drew inspiration from her experiences in Hollywood to build out this story! Today I'm joined by bestselling author, film producer and creator behind the internationally beloved romance series "After", Anna Todd! I have been such a fan of Anna's for nearly a decade. Her series, "After", started on Wattpad as a fan fiction story starring Harry Styles and the rest of One Direction. The online story took off with over 1 million readers and downloads, leading to a published book series and cult-favourite movie franchise! I loved getting to chat with Anna about the trajectory of her career, her involvement in the "After" movies (the final installation will be released next month!) and of course her latest book "The Burning". What a treat getting to chat with an author I've admired for so long! Hello again! Sorry for the quick hiatus...the Ides of March did a doozy on us...But we return with an episode that's all giggles! This week, Tessa returns to their- her- his- THE apartment, receiving comfort from Harry – aka, wiping her tears and snot and makeup all over his white shirt. Disgusting. She then makes a *drum roll* lasagna and spends some time with Harry and Anne (and Anna Todd) before bed. Well, bed for her, at least, because Harry's back on the floor. That is, until he is plagued with a nightmare. The next day, Harry goes to "work" while Tessa and Anne have a girls' day, at the end of which Tessa comes home to an angry Harry, and we promise it only gets worse from there but in the most confusing way. Why is Harry turning into a wolf? How is Tessa a champion of women's rights? Will she get Harry a glass of water? Give us your eyes and ears, and listen to find out! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fanfictioninourtwenties/message
For this week's Scrap Bag, we're going deep with Anna Todd on her 2018 Little Women adaptation, The Spring Girls. Anna is the New York Times best-selling author of several novels. Her After series has been adapted into a trilogy of feature films. (Total box office gross to date, by the way: $150 million.) Together, we get into everything from Meg's sexuality to the military-industrial complex to the many definitions of fanfiction. It's some of the most fun I've ever had making this show, and I can't wait for Anna to drop The Spring Women. Our cover art is by Mattie Lubchansky. It interpolates the cover art for Bethany C. Morrow's book "So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix," with permission from Macmillan Children's Publishing Group. It also interpolates the cover art for Hena Khan's book “More to the Story,” with permission from Simon & Schuster. Our theme music is Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 16 in C Major. This episode was edited by Antoinette Smith and transcribed by Lou Balikos. A transcript of this episode is available here. Follow us on Instagram: @josboyspod.
So much goes on in this week's episode, and again, we're not sure if it's the story or us. Either way, we hope it makes up for missing last week - sorry, besties! Harry goes to Liam for help, and maybe he does get it, but things go off the rails (only in the narrators' fantasies). Then he leaves without a hug, which will be hilarious later. Tessa, on the other hand, goes on her date with Trevor, and however awkward and robotic you were expecting it to be, it's worse. But it goes...well? We honestly couldn't tell you. Then it's back to the hotel room for Tessa, where she finds her car again, with a surprise inside! She spends her birthday with take-out, fictional women, and Liam. She then goes to the apartment she used to share with Harry, where she gets to share it with Harry and a special guest. Maybe a lot actually did happen in the story this week... Either way, rest assured we made it even crazier. What smutty romance book is Liam reading? Who's naked corpse appears? Which product does Anna Todd give the Fenty Beauty treatment to? Listen to find out, MA'AM, and take the quiz to find out what book genre you are, and let us know what you get! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fanfictioninourtwenties/message

Honestly, we can't tell if this episode is so long because a lot happens or because we can't shut up – either is possible! This week, Tessa, Kimberly, Vance, and Trevor head to Seattle for the conference, where they network, network, network about digital publishing or something or other...We're not sure, and neither is Anna Todd. Trevor and Tessa are weird, Vance is REALLY weird, and Kimberly is here for a good time. We also get a glance into Harry's sick and twisted mind, where he's basically whipped by Tessa and ruining everyone's good time about it. Everything is going well (or as well as things can go in this story...did we mention Vance is really weird in these chapters???) until Tessa blesses Harry with a phone call. What could go wrong? Why does Daisy get their ass beat by Harry? What is Anna Todd trying to tell us? Which cocktail are the narrators? Listen to find out! And find out which cocktail YOU are by taking the quiz, and let us know your results over on our instagram, @fanfictioninourtwenties! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fanfictioninourtwenties/message
"This wrong, but so right. But wrong." Couldn't have said it better myself, Anna Todd. This week, we get to see how Tessa continues handling her breakup with Harry. Spoiler: she's not doing very well, but we're not surprised. Tessa goes to work, where Vance and Kimberly cut her way too much slack (if you ask us). We also get to reconnect with Tessa's mom, and as always, it's a...delight... And Tessa's ex-boyfriend/Tessa's mom's boyfriend, the GAP king himself, Noah, returns! Finally, we have a very emotional scene with Harry and Tessa, where they finally get some closure. (Do they though? I mean, there's like, 95 more chapters and another book after this...) Will Tessa ever be able to piss again? What is the soundtrack to Harry and Tessa's breakup that had Anna Todd herself crying? Listen to find out! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fanfictioninourtwenties/message

Catch up with us in our season two introduction episode before you jump into the next one where we start reading our next fanfiction: "After 2" by Anna Todd! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fanfictioninourtwenties/message
Yes, that's right, we're picking up where we left off. Last season we read Anna Todd's "After," and this season we are reading the sequel, "After 2." (Spoiler alert: it's just as bad as its predecessor.) Tessa has her world rocked in the Blind Bob's where she finds out what Harry and his friends have been hiding from her. She runs off with Zayn, only to go...right back...to the Blind Bob's. Sounds productive. Then she visits her dear friend Liam, where he spills the beans to Ken and Karen (which, honestly, was kind of a dick move). What's the big secret that has everyone in the Blind Bob's shaking? Ken and Harry do WHAT with Tessa between them? Will the narrators pick truth, or dare? Read It and Weep (2006) walked so Anna Todd's magnum opus After could run. This week we were joined by an extra special guest and our friend from college, Hannah Labovitz! We talked all things Read It and Weep, including the Panabaker sisters and some of our favorite Virgo actresses (happy Libra season, btw). Digressions include zoology, the origins of New Hampshire, and fanfiction-related conspiracy theories. Also, the three of us miss and love each other and haven't all been together in WAY more than a year, so we just had fun catching up. This episode we recap the Netflix movie After, which is an adaptation of the book by Anna Todd. Right away we can assume the book is superior to the movie, but to the surprise of no one we are easily entertained-- particularly when there is an accent involved. The red flags are everywhere so we collected them and turned them into a beautiful wreath. __ Follow us on Tiktok @fictionFixation Visit our Website at fictionfixation.com __ Fiction fixation is a commentary podcast perfectly suited for lovers of fiction. It's meant to be light entertainment to anyone who has a love of romantic movies and novels (all sub-genres), improv comedy, reading books, binge watching movies, or just listening to two good friends banter and laugh. We aren't interested in reviewing books or rating movies, we just want to banter about the characters and the situations they find themselves in.

Are you on TikTok? It's filled with many different communities, but today we're focusing on one that really affects us - and you guessed it, that's BookTok. Who knew the book world would infiltrate the TikTok social media app, but it's a community that fiercely believes in and defends reading. We love it! It's introduced us to so many books and authors we wouldn't have found otherwise, and it allows us to connect with others who love reading just as much as we do. We ended last episode with a kick in the gut and trust us when we say we have A LOT of feelings about what Tessas next move should be. Should she get back with Hardin?
