Do you remember 5-0 at Austin FC in February of 2022? That crushing loss that started the Pat Noonan era at FC Cincinnati? Oh, we all remember. Both teams made the playoffs in 2022, but since then, the Orange & Blue and Los Verdes have inhabited different sides of the coin. While Noonan's boys have managed to stay high, Austin FC has exchanged head coaches after subpar seasons. The greener side of things? Brandon Vazquez has been given one of the keys to the attack atop Austin's revamped offense. So what exactly has Nico Estevez brought to The ATX? We ask Mike and Steph from Moontower Soccer about soccer life under Anthony Precourt, the exchange of designated players in the offseason, the arrival of and the hope of revitalization in the 2025 MLS season. THE BOYS GOT MLS IS BACK FEVER. There's a lot of talk of handsome men in this one, then some breakdown of the proceedings in Orlando (there's...a lot of soccer at MLS Is Back) and Jason goes wild and unveils a new character, "Bane Bradley". Then they boys discuss the differences between the 'augmented reality' of Fox versus the 'brunch vibe' of ESPN, before breaking down the latest Christian Pulisic performance for Chelsea. Finally, Jason tries to figure out why Austin FC is trolling Columbus fans with images of a Crew loss from when Anthony Precourt owned the Crew. It's....weird. Sam and EG sit down with Wil Trapp to discuss his time dominating soccer and life in and around Columbus, plus what it meant to be the walking/talking face of Ohio soccer for a decade; how Caleb Porter sold him on University of Akron over Harvard; the conflicting emotions of captaining USMNT in the wake of the 2017 WCQ debacle; what the move to Miami (and resulting culture shock) has been like; his first Beckham Experience; how he rebelled against The Man (aka his parents) in HS and the time he got sent to the principal's office in college; plus his unabridged, unvarnished and unsanctioned thought on Anthony Precourt.

The SaveTheCrew movement captured the imagination of soccer fans all across the country. In Columbus, after Anthony Precourt announced he was attempting to move the team to Austin, the fanbase rose up and--along with some passionate city officials--worked to keep the team where they started. Indeed, they on the cusp of securing a massive new stadium and training complex that will keep the team there for decades to come. It turned out to be a win-win for both cities, as Precourt and MLS managed to negotiate a deal with Austin to build a stadium which will house a MLS team starting in 2021. So both cities have teams, will have new stadiums to play in and it seems like the saga has come to an end. But everyone loves a good epilogue, so I called up two reporters who have been following the story. Chris Bils writes for the Austin Statesman and covers about Austin FC, while Jacob Myers covers the Crew for the Columbus Dispatch. We had a great conversation talking about how we got here, and where things go. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Hi, my name is Anthony Precourt, and I have soft hands because I have never used them to build anything or perform any task ever in my entire life. I've never worked for anything, and I am a lying pile of human garbage. Please give me things because I feel that I deserve them.
There is no more essential reading in American soccer right now than Tim Myers', "Quiet Lies," and "What's the Truth." Both reports detail the myriad ways in which the MLS and Anthony Precourt have manipulated the narrative around the good city of Columbus. This is not just a pod for all those involved in the #savethecrew movement, but rather for anyone begging for more transparency in the game.

Welp, we broke our string of having a special guest every show in 2017 but it wasn’t our fault. We had an interview lined up with OCB Head Coach Anthony Pulis set for Tuesday but there was a giant Skype crash and we weren’t able to record. That’s unfortunate but we’ll reschedule. In the meantime, we’re breaking down (in a rudimentary way) Orlando City’s game against the Columbus Crew in Kaká’s final competitive appearance as a Lion. The team unfortunately didn’t play particularly great soccer in the match but we still found a few things to talk about and I go on a bit of a rant about Anthony Precourt’s remarks about exploring moving the Crew to Austin. We’ve also got an I-4 Derby to talk about as OCB hosted the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the young Lions’ final game of the season, as well as all of the players cut after that loss ended OCB’s season. Then we bring you our #AskTMLPC segment in which we answer your questions from Twitter and our one email user, and we’ve got key match-ups and previews for Orlando’s season finale at the Philadelphia Union this Sunday. Here’s the way No. 108 went down: 0:13- The Lions went out like lambs in Kaká’s final game, our Man of the Match picks, and why Columbus should stay put. 17:28- If the Rowdies knock OCB out of playoff contention and no one is there to see it, did it really happen? Plus, we’ve got a lot of OCB roster cuts to talk about. So many cuts. 32:23- The NWSL championship game came to Orlando City Stadium and it was a brutal game in multiple ways. Still, it was a pro final in our city, so let’s discuss! 39:53- You asked and we answered questions about next year’s draft and roster, and much more. 57:42- Our key match-ups and score predictions as the Lions close the season in Philadelphia Chester, PA. With Landon Donovan playing his final game for the USMNT, it's time to start looking ahead to which up-and-comer will take his mantle. Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore will surely carry the torch in the short-term, but which youngster is set to be the next Donovan? Why not winger Joe Gyau, who's making headway at one of the biggest clubs in the world? He tells his story on the show. From one Black-and-Gold team (Borussia Dortmund) to another one stateside. The Columbus Crew -- rather, Columbus Crew SC beginning in 2015 -- claimed the news headlines in MLS this week with a major signing and a new brand identity, which was unveiled at an event that anointed the first and greatest MLS hype man. The club's owner, Anthony Precourt, joined the guys to discuss his vision for the new-look club. We also entertain Humble Pie recipes, discuss the MLS edition of the Landon Donovan testimonial and revisit the debate about just how important Tim Cahill is to the New York Red Bulls.
