His new book, Bader Field, embodies the emotional story of a son's loving relationship with his father. Guest Bio: Having lived through and survived the horrific experience of my brother's suicide when I was just 16, I am awakened to the real purpose in my life. I am on a mission to save lives....even one. "This is my way of paying forward by taking the darkest days of my life and helping those on that edge of desperation to see that they are loved that there is help for them and that they are not alone. In this week's episode, we took the ride down the Garden State Parkway to Atlantic City, New Jersey. This was supposed to be the weekend of Bamboozle, until it was suddenly cancelled a week before the Festival. We still went to spend the weekend out there and we talk all about our Bamboozeless Atlantic City trip. We walked the boardwalk, checked out a show with local musicians, saw Noah XO do his thing, went to a buffet, and ended our night partying it up with Fred Durst and Sad and Boujee. We couldn't end our weekend without visiting Bader Field, the site of Bamboozle's skeleton bones! We also had the pleasure of interviewing Noah XO as he tells us all about his road to playing the Bamboozle Festival and the interaction he had with John D. Give this one a listen to hear how all of this went down and also how our girls took things into their own hands to celebrate their 2nd birthday in Atlantic City!

In today’s episode, I get to have a chat with Christine Hannon of One Plane Jane. As a kid, Christine used to take walks with her grandfather to KAIY, Bader Field, in Atlantic City, pushing her favorite baby doll in its pink stroller. Together, they would watch the planes take off and land. Christine’s parents told her she could do anything. But she never got the idea to become a pilot until a bit later in her life. Christine started out in the aviation industry as a ramp agent. A big part of the reason she took the job was because of the travel benefits but she grew to love the company and the aviation industry. While applying for a leadership position in her job, a friend recommended she learn to fly, and off she went. Today, Christine is an instrument-rated Private Pilot, working on her Commercial Certificate. She lives in Madrid, Spain with her husband. She owns and runs One Plane Jane, a company that creates products to empower women, inspired by female aviators. Christine believes that it is our responsibility to show little girls they can be pilots and to celebrate not just what each woman does, but who she is and what she is capable of. In today’s conversation, Christine and I talk about how she met her CFI, what her training was like & about her life in Madrid. We talk about her future aviation goals, her company, One Plane Jane, the life lessons and discipline that aviation gives you, using aviation to make a difference in the community and much more. This was a fun, informative and inspiring conversation with a cool and badass pilot, adventurer & entrepreneur that I hope you enjoy as much as I did. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/inaia/support

How did a small concert with a very checkered past, get booked in the LARGE Boardwalk Hall? Was it sharp negotiating by the producer? Was it the lack of concert savvy by the CRDA? Or was it something else? Listen to the ACprimetime Radio Podcast. We talk with Amanda Thomas of Boardwalk Entertainment. Amanda Thomas of Boardwalk Entertainment Michael Salvanto of Songbird Entertainment teamed up with North Jersey cousin Nick Conti to present a Boardwalk Hall concert on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The line-up is WAR, Asia featuring John Payne, and Journey former lead vocalist, Steve Augeri. This show was originally slated for Bader Field. But that fizzled. The triple-bill was also scheduled to take place in Wildwood, but was cancelled at the last minute. Who's at fault? What's the real reason for the cancellation? Wildwood commissioner Pete Byron, said he was 'kept in the dark' about the status of the Songbird Entertainment concert, produced by Michael Salvanto. Salvanto's explanation of past concert mis-steps were smoothed over on WOND Radio on Thursday afternoon. But many listeners weren't buying what Salvanto & the fast-talking, radio host were selling. More fact checking to follow. Back on March 22, 2017, Atlantic City Council voted to give Songbird Entertainment a license to use Bader Field for 5 concerts. None of those planned shows happened. 3rd ward Atlantic City Councilman Kaleem Shabazz was not happy with the Salvanto experience. Snookered? Hoodwinked? Bamboozled? Or just poor vetting and escrow terms / conditions on part of the city? Some were pleasantly surprised, others were downright shocked... that Salvanto & Songbird Entertainment were able to procure the 12,000 seat main arena of Boardwalk Hall for this cool....but really small show that might sell 3,000 tix. Might is the operative word here. Are Bar Mitzvahs next at Boardwalk Hall? How did this smaller show get OK'ed to play the BIG room at Boardwalk Hall? A show that was already cancelled 2 times before. A sign of things to come for Boardwalk Hall? The CRDA is desperate to do ANYTHING with Boardwalk Hall? Not ONE person at the CRDA thought this smelled kinda funny? Bringing in a wider variety of shows, producers and promoters. Less reliance on the expensive & questionable ROI deal with concert promoter Live Nation? With all that CRDA money being poured into Boardwalk Hall repairs & upgrades, it's time for that great venue to be managed & run as a visitor & revenue driver.....not just a CRDA money pit & pet project that keeps running in the red. Maybe the CRDA should have allocated some of those Boardwalk Hall funds....to safety & crime reduction in that Florida Ave neighborhood? Concert co-producer Nick Conti, plans to open Choice Bar n Grill soon at 470 Albany Ave in Atlantic City. (across from Skate Zone) Selvanto says: “that if it wasn’t with the help of Nick Conti, and Choice Bar & Grill, this concert would not be possible. Conti is a long time resident of Atlantic City, and business owner. NOTE: The CRDA board of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority recently inked a $7 Million deal to attract larger events to Boardwalk Hall and the Convention Center. The CRDA will team with Comcast NBC-Universal and William Morris Endeavor Entertainment to bring “destination events” to the two properties. Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, the company that manages Boardwalk Hall, has recently snubbed the local Yellow Cab Company & Jitney drivers. Spectra named Lyft its official ride-sharing service.

LISTEN> Sweet. ACprimetime was able to finagle some up-close & personal talk-time with Dr. Harvey Kesselman, President of Stockton University. While the good Doctor is crazy busy with bringing Stockton to the shores of Atlantic City by Fall 2018, he was kind enough to invite us in for a little digital chit-chat. It was informative and fun. We packed up the mobile ACprimetime Radio Podcast Studio and pointed our GPS to the Galloway campus of the very impressive Stockton University. Some topics discussed & stuff we learned: Mayflower Hotel, The original, temporary Stockton on the Boardwalk....back in 1971. Dr. Kesselman once had longer hair than me. Much longer. A beard too. We're both South Philly & Delco (Delaware County, PA) guys. Stockton Safe vs Sanctuary. Atlantic City Campus, Island Campus or Boardwalk Campus? The skinny on those past Showboat issues. Yes, former Atlantic Club/Hilton/Golden Nugget property was considered, among other locations. Stockton is a designated 'anchor' project for Atlantic City. Creates positive ripple effect for Absecon Island economy. Dr. Kesselman is quite amused by my old Radio DJ name, Mel Toxic. I blatantly ask for a job at Stockton. I have no shame. Who are the smart peeps that design/develop Stockton expansion? Chris Paladino from AC Devco, Jingoli Construction, Stockton's in-house, skilled architect/facility development staff Bader Field potential. Ice rink, baseball field, slice of Bader for research.

Councilman-at-Large Gilliam disputes Filiciello's claims made to the Associated Press. Gilliam says former AC Mayor Langford never made $143,000. He only made $106,000. Mr. David's latest book, Bader Field, embodies the emotional story of a son's loving relationship with his father—the legendary art dealer whose life is suddenly taken by a massive coronary at the young age of fifty-eight years. His death plunges the twenty-four-year-old man onto the front lines of the family art business, which he had entered a mere three years prior. Battling with his own grief while trying to help his adoring but fragile mother survive, David forges forward with all of the elemental tools his father imparted to him. His journey proves a difficult one, not having yet recovered from the horrific loss of his brother who was found dead on the fourth floor of the Rittenhouse Square townhouse, which was home to the prestigious David David Gallery. His self-imposed obligation was to successfully take the family art business to the next generation and to give his own children, years later, every bit of love, kindness, and wisdom bestowed upon him by the unique man whom they will never know other than the mark he left on everyone who knew him. Bader Field adds significant insight into the mysterious workings and dealings of the art world. David speaks from experience of having been immersed in it all of his life and having lived it from the inside out. There will be a tremendous crossover interest in this book as it combines the elements of an American family, its goodness and its tragedy interfaced with the multifaceted aspects of the mysterious art business and flying small airplanes. Bader Field in Atlantic City was the oldest airfield in the country. With little sophistication, its two asphalt runways juggled single and twin engine aircraft exuding a character and charm that created memories to last a lifetime. That is where this saga begins and where it ends as life comes full circle.

Life is changing rapidly these days and it really seems hard but even thinking about suicide is not the answer. There are people all around you who can help, to talk and support you, even if it seems like that may not be true. Family members, if there is talk of suicide in your home, it is time to get help, not tomorrow or next week or after a vacation, NOW! The conversation must be of help, support and action. This is not a gray area, it is black and white. Action is required. What happens to a family when the talk of suicide is hushed, not noticed or tabooed? It happens. My guest today, Carl David, is familiar with suicide, his brother took his life when he was young. Carl, now, decades later, has committed to speaking to anyone who will listen about the effects of suicide on a family. He will be sharing how he carried the event with him all his adult life. Carl is the author of Bader Field; How my family survived Suicide. It is his life as it unfolded since losing his brother. Yes, life is hard, yes, it is trying at times, and yes, life is a gift to cherish everyday. If you have concerns there may be an issue in your family, listen as we discuss this life changing event. Today, my guest is Carl David, author of "Bader Field; How my Family Survived Suicide". The book illustrates the degree of trauma the suicide of a family member leaves behind on the survivors as he tells his own personal story. Suicide is not the answer and those who are contemplating taking their life, this book shows them that they are not alone, that there is always another answer, another way, no matter what. In the words of Carl "Those so desperate need to know that they don't just destroy themselves, but everyone around them as well; their family, friends and acquaintances. I pray that my perilous journey through those darkest days will bring light and hope to anyone on that final path, and draw them back." Carl also states "This is my way of paying forward by taking the darkest days of my life and helping those on that final edge of desperation to see that they are loved, that there is help for them and that they are not alone." If you have anyone in your family that has passed from suicide or the situation is arising within your family, we welcome you to listen to Carl's words. We hope and pray for all who are touched by this and we will give words of encouragement to all. Carl's book may be purchased here.
