Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny 2-0 Presentation College, Athenry Roisin Foley (50), Emily Phelan (67) Two second half goals ensured Cup success for Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny over defending Champions Presentation College, Athenry in a sun-soaked Athlone Town AFC this afternoon (March 19). It's been some season for the Kilkenny kingpins as this victory confirmed a Cup double for the girls with their Senior crew capturing the National title five weeks ago in the same venue with six of the Junior squad involved in that showpiece. It was a case of taking their chances when they came with a sublime effort from Roisin FOLEY to open her account for Kilkenny with twenty minutes of the game remaining. Vice Captain Emily PHELAN made sure of the win three minutes from time when she saw her effort go in off the keeper. Kilkenny made the brighter start to the contest with Hannah Griffey forcing a brilliant save from Jane Brennan with 13 minutes on the clock. Towards the latter stages of the first half, it was Athenry that dominated most of the possession but just couldn't get the ball on target as the teams went in goalless at the break. Within four minutes, Kilkenny broke the deadlock with a superb set piece from Roisin FOLEY that sailed over the head of Brennan and into the top corner, leaving the Galway shot-stopper no chance. The Galway side had a great opportunity to draw level a few moments later when Niamh Kilgannon had a glancing header goal bound only for Isabelle Carroll to produce a top class save at the near post to deny the youngster. Noone, Duffy and McNamara had half chances blocked down with some solid defensive play from Presentation, Kilkenny. The killer blow for Athenry came three minutes from time when Emily PHELAN'S cross slipped through the hands of Brennan and in for Kilkenny's second of the afternoon. After the game, Presentation College manager Joe Finnerty spoke to Galway Bay FM's Mike Rafferty. == PRESENTATION SECONDARY SCHOOOL, KILKENNY | Isabelle Carroll, Anna Morrissey, Roisin Foley, Hannah Griffey, Maria Ryan, Ellie Barron, Kate Ryan, Olivia Dunphy ©, Emily Phelan ©, Meadhbh Doherty, Ellen Treacy SUBS USED | Kate Dalton for Treacy (46) Amy O'Shea for Barron (46). Thursday's 7am hour of Mac & Cube began with a recap of the first full day of the men's SEC Basketball Tournament as well as the guys trying to figure out where the cuts of meat come from on a caw; then, Austin Hannon, who covers Clemson for 247 Sports, tells us about Cade Klubnik's struggles in spring ball, and how things have changed in terms of recruiting; later, Cole & Greg explain why QBs struggling in spring doesn't necessarily always mean the player is cooked; and finally, the boys planned on talking starting QBs in the SEC, but got distracted by Carson Beck's wild new haircut. Vicki Atkinson and Wynne Leon talk with author, blogger, and corporate communications specialist, Brian Hannon about National Novel Writing Month. Brian tells us why he values the encouragement and accountability piece of NaNoWriMo. He spills a little bit about the project he has in mind and the goals he's setting for the month. Brian is such a great writer, with roots as a newspaper writer and corporate communications specialist. We get to see into the dichotomy of the flexibility in writing Brian has so beautifully explored in posts this week contrasted with the structure necessary to produce a novel. So it's fun to hear how he makes time to write, especially as he gears up for NaNoWriMo. Brian also turns the tables on Vicki and me and gets us to reveal a bit of the bigger projects we are working on. We get to collectively talk about the wonderful goal of producing “wholehearted writing” in whatever medium we choose. I'm confident you'll love the scenic and beautiful places we explore as we share the power of storytelling – in podcasts, in posts, and in novels. We know you'll love it! Y'all, I have been a huge fan of Irene Hannon's romantic suspense for years. I have so many of them on my bookshelf and can't get rid of them. It is a delight to host her on Book Talk today to talk about her latest book, Over the Edge. She first started writing at ten — and is now approaching 70 books published. That's pretty prolific! We share a love for Nancy Drew that propelled both of us into writing romantic suspense, but she started with contemporary romance. So if you love either genre, she releases a book a year you'll enjoy. Irene gets her ideas not from a folder of ideas she curates, but from browsing the internet, looking through the paper, listening to conversations, and building a spiderweb from the ideas that spark her interest. She looks for that seed or thread that she can pull on and build from. Her favorite part of writing is the dialogue — she feels like a stenographer taking dictation. And the first sentence/scene is what she slaves over. Getting that and the characterization right sets the scene for everything else. I can't wait for you to get to know Irene Hannon in this conversation. Connect with Irene Hannon Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

Behavioural economics explains why we make such stupid decisions with our money. Unfortunately, the study has found that behavioural biases are very hard to control and, even if you are aware of them, no one is immune from poor decision-making when it comes to both life and our finances. This is where quantitative or systematic investing comes in - a realm of investing typically reserved for institutional investors like super funds and the ultra-wealthy. Quantitative investing removes emotion and behavioural biases from investing. Instead, it relies on some of the smartest people in the world to put together hundreds to thousands of signals and data points for a large language model to make decisions. Humans are involved but just for oversight, in case the model does not truly understand a situation. For example, it may not understand that airlines were not a fantastic short-term opportunity amid a significant sell-off during the COVID-19 crash. This is a far cry from fundamental investing, which relies on a fund manager or investor analysing macroeconomic and stock-specific factors, meeting with management teams, trying out products and services and reviewing a business's balance sheet before making an investment decision of their own. The gains from quantitative strategies are typically small, but they're consistent over time. You are not going to have years of 10-20% plus outperformance over an index, but equally, you shouldn't experience huge drawdowns either. And over the long term, this small amount of alpha adds up. Interestingly, Macquarie Asset Management was one of the few firms that saw its funds achieve 100 batting averages - for both the large-cap and small-cap categories - over a 10-year period. This means that these funds, which are all quantitative strategies*, have outperformed the benchmark 100% of the time in every three-year rolling period over the past decade. So, to learn more about quantitative investing, quantitative ETFs and the major trends shaping ETF markets, Livewire's Ally Selby was joined by Blair Hannon, ETF Strategist at Macquarie Asset Management. We discuss some common misconceptions surrounding quantitative investing, the signals that have worked over the last few years, and the magic of compounding over the long term. Plus, Hannon also shares why he strongly believes that passive investing is not creating a bubble in markets - despite what some of the world's most famous investors (like The Big Short's Michael Burry) would have you think. Marriage is God's idea. It's his design that one man and one woman would promise to him that they'll live together as one for the rest of their lives. But today, we'll see there's more involved in Hannon's ship and procreation. We'll see. Marriage is God's colorful painting of our relationship with him. Let's open our Bibles to my favorite chapter in all of the Bible, Ephesians chapter five. Okay. The title of the message is The Mystery of Marriage. It is a wonderful picture of our relationship between Jesus, who is the heavenly bridegroom, and the church, which is like the bride.

It's been a little while since we've talked about accessibility on the podcast and one area we haven't covered at all to this point is specifically how to make accessible eCommerce websites.Everything is more complex with eCommerce sites and accessibility, while complex even at the basic level, gets even trickier. So, to help understand all of this, accessibility expert Bet Hannon (CEO of accessicart.com) is on the show as we dive into:The very basics of accessibilityEasy accessibility wins you can achieve on your sitesThe common accessibility traps for eCommerce sitesThe #1 accessibility culprit for restaurant websitesOffering accessibility from the start of your projectsAnd more. It's easy to feel overwhelmed with accessibility - perhaps because it CAN be extremely robust but every time I speak with an expert in it, I'm reminded that the most important thing is to have the basics covered. So if you do everything we talk about in the first 10-15 minutes here, that's a great start. And while we do get into some of the accessibility penalties that have been circulating, I don't want you to feel intimidated or scaled by web design as a whole. Accessibility is a lot like privacy and security in terms of the “rare events (aka lawsuits and penalties)” making the headlines. The goal is simple, make websites as accessible to everyone as possible. Build sites with that in mind and you'll be far ahead of most other web designers and you'll make the web a better, more user-friendly place for all.Get all links and resources mentioned along with a full transcription at:https://joshhall.co/345View all Web Design Business Podcasts with show notes and full transcriptions at: https://joshhall.co/podcastPodcast Playlists are now live!!

They remained separated for over two years after his plane was shot down and he became a prisoner of the Germans. What kept their spirits and hopes up were the letters they wrote each other. Their story unfolds through these letters and reveals strength, courage, hope and an enduring love that transcended the horrendous events of the war that interrupted their lives like so many others of their generation.Barbara Jane Hannon is the daughter of the couple whose WWII story is told in this book. After their deaths she found a box of letters and war documents that revealed her parents lives during the war. Although she says her parents never talked about the war, the story that unfolded was stunning, heart wrenching and at times horrific and worth sharing with othershttps://www.amazon.com/Letters-World-Barbara-Jane-Hannon/dp/B0C8QBJXH6/https://www.barbarahannon.com/https://www.readersmagnet.com/product/letters-from-world-war-ii/ http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/81524bjhrm.mp3
