Darüber hinaus Übersetzte er Werke wie Beowolf aus dem Altenglischen oder der Lateinischen. Seamus Heaney stammte aus einfachen Verhältnissen. Entsprechend porträtierte er in seinen Gedichten das leben seiner Umgebung. Grund genug, für uns, dem Seamus Heaney Homeplace in Bellathy einen Besuch abzustatten. Der Seamus Heany Homeplace ist ein Museum, das dem Lebenswerk und dem Leben Seamus Heaneys gewidmet ist. Begraben wurde der Literat übrigens auf dem nahe gelegenen Friedhof.
