Dragnet, “Big Rod,” aired on March 3, 1954.Dragnet was created and produced by Jack Webb, who also starred as Sergeant Joe Friday. His goal was to create a show that was realistic, so he attended police academy classes and did ride-alongs with the Los Angeles Police Department as part of his research. The cases in the shows were based on actual cases handled by the LAPD. Dragnet was broadcast on NBC radio stations from 1949 to 1957. It overlapped with it's TV version which ran from 1951 to 1959 in black and white, and was brought back to TV in color from 1967 to 1970.
Kia Ora Coaches and welcome to episode 30!! of PowtearoaThis episode your usual professional crew are ably assisted by Jesse and (a little late) Mushoomy. We have had a good rummage in our respective vegetable patches and managed to rustle up gnome teams. We have had a bit of a play and here we discuss our findings. Mushy is also able to fill us in on the upcoming 10th annual Capital Shield tournament in sunny Paraparaumu (Get along people, its a blast!)So is Big Rod the new Puggy? And will we all be ditching our sheep riding Halflings for a new fangled Gnome on a Stag? Or is this the arrival of some potential massed Star Player cavalry? A freshly converted and convinced Paul began boldly proclaiming this truth, and it made an impact - the devout Jews began to severely him and the converted Christians had trouble trusting him because of his past. But like him or hate him, Paul couldn’t be ignored. Similarly, the truth about Jesus can't be ignored either - it demands a response. Saul was still a very dangerous man, but now to a totally different group of people. Paul’s suffering started in the first place where he ever preached the Gospel. Thankfully, Barnabas took responsibility for Saul and vouched for him. The Church endured persecution and still had peace and multiplied - HOW? The way of peace and being built up is not looking within yourself, it’s looking outside of yourself to Jesus Christ. If God has saved you by grace through faith in His Son Jesus, make it a priority to participate in what He’s doing in His kingdom.

Dre Skuffs pulled up for Ep179 to discuss the pilot that he recently released for his series "Loose Ends". He talked about where the idea originated and what it took to see it through to completion. Along with cast members Ant Live! & Big Rod, he stayed to chop it up about various other topics including Dee-1 and Rick Ross's recent online exchange regarding artists' responsibility when it comes to the type of content they produce. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/washthis/support
Good morning... good afternoon... good evening... No matter what time you're listening, yes, you've made it to the Friday edition of Noles News Now. I'm your host, Brian Pellerin who will be guiding you in to the weekend with the latest news and notes from around Florida State football, baseball, and more. The biggest story to look ahead to is the unofficial start of ACC football season next week with the ACC Football Kickoff media days in Charlotte. The Seminoles will be sending veterans Jordan Travis, Fabien Lovett, and Jammie Robinson alongside Mike Norvell on July 20th - that's next Wednesday. The Noles will be just more than a month away from taking the field for the first time at that point and two months from beginning ACC play on a Friday night in Louisville. An announcement from ESPN this week actually slid that kickoff back 30 minutes so kickoff for that game is now at 7:30 pm, in case you've got to adjust your calendar or travel plans. It's been a busy summer on the recruiting trail for the Florida State Seminoles coaching staff as they continue to shape the future of this roster. One of the biggest areas to address is solidifying the trenches and recent offensive line commit Roderick Kearney looks to be the centerpiece of that effort going forward. This week, he joined our Florida State of Recruiting podcast for an interview about FSU, new offensive coordinator Alex Atkins and much more. Check it out to hear from Big Rod, a leader of the Noles for the future. Of course, Atkins was a huge part in landing Kearney and many other commits this offseason. He's been an incredible asset on the recruiting trail for FSU so the question is how does he rank in compared to other Florida State's other top recruiters of the past decade. David Stout tries to tackle that in a column posted to Tomahawk Nation dot com this morning. There have been some great assistants and Atkins is off to a strong start to be among if not the best of the bunch. Link Jarrett is hoping his newest hire will also be a major recruiting ace for the Noles as he's landed his first recruiting coordinator as the head man of FSU. Jarrett announced Thursday that Rich Wallace will make the jump from Notre Dame to Tallahassee with him to join the Noles coaching staff in the recruiting coordinator role. Wallace already has ties to the Sunshine State with his experience at Jacksonville and UCF. One day before FSU football starts their season next month against Duquesne, the athletic department will induct the newest members of the Florida State Hall of Fame class announced this week. In total, 10 Seminole greats will have their names added to the hall including football stars Snoop Minnis and E.G. Green, golf star Brooks Koepka, baseball player of the year James Ramsey, soccer greats Amanda Dacosta and Toni Pressley plus others from tennis, swimming and diving and more. That'll do it for this edition of Noles News Now. If you like what you hear, remember to subscribe, follow and rate the show to help us out and let other Noles fans know about the easiest way to stay up to date on all things FSU 3 times a week. Until Monday, I'm Brian Pellerin. Thanks for listening. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

When Adam and Ben come back from Las Vegas there's lots of Trek news to discuss. But when Lenny Kravitz splits their opinions on the Discovery season 2 trailer it's time to talk JL Pipes and the future canon of Big Rod. Will the Worf Chronicles still happen? At what point will the Klingons gain hair? Just how many questions at a convention are more *observations*?It's the episode that's full of news, but the scripts are still in the works.
When Kirk & Co. pick up an untrustworthy businessman named Harvey Mudd and his women associates, the men on the Enterprise are overtaken by a spell. But when Mudd turns out to be making deals behind Kirk's back it’s finally time to pry off this annoying barnacle. Will Kirk be able to withstand the spell? How much slink can you get in one episode? What’s with the groovy Spock? It’s the episode Big Rod wrote after watching a Nancy Sinatra music video!
We did it. We found the funniest joke related to Star Trek. Give us a listen and we will talk about it in full. Also, we found a Star Trek movie that we actually liked! Talking points: Gene "Big Rod and Berries" Roddenberry, ASMR breathing exercises, and plasma energy shields IRL. We still have our IMDB list here: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls020556242/ Trust us. This will all be over soon. Hopefully.
When Picard turns up dead, the Entrepreneur's new captain is a vengeance-motivated Riker with total mission discretion. But it's not long before Riker himself is captured, leaving the ship in Data's capable, detachable hands. How much disbelief can this show get us to suspend? What's the best way to maintain your Rimforest? How deep in the lineup do they go before the Entrepreneur doesn't have a qualified captain? It's the episode where we tie a red bandana around our bust of Big Rod.

The moms took their turn; yesterday the dads were on deck. Noah and Chance called "Big Rod" and "Digdoug" to discuss a pair of movies about early 20th century sporting. (It's worth noting that the dads chose movies independent of each other.) First, Chance called his father to discuss 2005's Cinderella Man, listening to classic fights on the radio, and remembering Great Depression anecdotes passed down through the family. At 27:15, we transition to Rod Ballard's selection, Chariots of Fire. There's talk of post-WWI anxiety, Antisemitism meeting classism, and Olympic running. Ya know, dad stuff all around.
