Now that the Falcons have put themselves in this situation, they are in a spot where each of the next 4 games are must wins to secure their spot in the playoffs. Drop us a 5 Star review if you'd be so kind! Will Ridder have a career game against us? Please God no. Will Kirk rebound and stop throwing to the other team? Will the defensive front keep bringing the heat and sacking the QB? Will the secondary bounce back from a terrible game vs. the Vikings? Will we stop killing ourselves with penalties? CAN WE PLAY A COMPLETE GAME? Help us continue to grow by subscribing to the channel and liking the video! We greatly appreciate the support! Tread Perilously's 2024 Star Trek month opens with an episode of The Original Series called "The Omega Glory." Arriving in orbit around Omega IV, the Enterprise discovers the crew of the U.S.S. Exeter have been turned into salt; the result of a highly infectious disease from the planet below. Beaming down, Kirk, Spock, and McCoy find the Exeter's captain, Donald Tracey, alive and well. He's convinced the planet holds the secret to immortality and wants Kirk to join him in making millions once Tracey learns how to bottle it. Will Kirk break the Prime Directive? Will Tracey learn the real secret of Omega IV? And will we ever get past the sensation that Gerd Shockley wrote this episode? Erik and Justin commemorate the Bell Riots in the best way possible: talking about a true Star Trek low light. The pair differ on guest actor Morgan Woodward's performance as Tracey, but absolutely agree on the shockingly regressive attitudes present in a script by Gene Roddenberry. Emperor Sheev Palpatine's real plan is revealed. Justin's love of the starship-specific logos is tempered by the reason why it was abandoned. The presence of Space Huns leads the discussion in a certain direction and Lt. Galloway gets the memorial he deserves.
Kirk, Spock and McCoy are escorting a diplomat back to the Enterprise for urgent care, but a strange cloud hijacks their shuttle and diverts them to a planet where a very young 150 year old Zephram Cochrane is stranded. It turns out the cloud is also a horn-dog and won't let the crew leave. Will Kirk figure out how to appease female Melllvar? Tune in to find out! Will Kirk make the Falcons situation work? It's Maggie's Birthday!
Star Trek: The Original Series, Series 2, Episode 13. First broadcast on Friday 15 December 1967. A few tense moments this week, as a fragrant dikironium vampire kills a bunch of redshirts before threatening some characters with names and ultimately the Enterprise itself. But the real suspense comes from an entirely different direction: Will this episode teeter over the edge of camp into baffling semicompetence? Will Kirk's obsession turn him from a jovial and beloved authority figure into a massive idiot? Will any cue from the Star Trek music library go unused? (No, no and no, fortunately.)
Dave and Andrew descend into the vaults to bring you one of their patented bonus episodes! This time, they go deeper than ever before to unearth their very first attempt at podcasting with a look at a classic episode of Star Trek, the original series, “Mirror, Mirror.” It all starts when Kirk, McCoy, Uhuru and Scott beam up in the middle of a storm and end up on an unfamiliar Enterprise where the Federation has been replaced by the Empire, a brutal regime dedicated to universal domination. Crew members carry sidearms and daggers on their sashes and are subject to ruthless discipline courtesy of the Agony Booth while jockeying for position and power. Supremely savage Spock sports a sassy goatee and exercises harsh punishment with violence and the fearsome Agonizer (the Empire is big on agony). Will Kirk and company be able to get back to their universe? Will the Federation's Enterprise survive under the command of a savage Kirk? Will Dave and Andrew ever run out of these old recordings? College football has been hit by scandal after scandal recently, so I had to pull in my college football experts to help me break it all down! P.D. of the Gamecocks Football Captain's Log and Brett of Brett's Bets join me to talk about everything going on in the world of college football AND we get a special guest appearance from The Expert to pick some of this weekend's games! First, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney had a showdown with Tyler from Spartanburg about the Tigers' awful season. Who was right? Who was wrong? And why did Tyler's call remind me of one of rap's most famous diss tracks? We also talk about why Clemson's program has been on a downward trend and if we expect to see Dabo coaching somewhere else soon! Next up, Michigan is in hot water over a sign-stealing scandal. How big of a deal is it really though? And when does cheating cross the line? Also, we talk about whether we think Jim Harbaugh knew about it, if the College Football Playoff Committee should factor it into their rankings, and Connor Stalions' chances of becoming a head coach. Then, Deion Sanders has far exceeded expectations in his first year as Colorado's head coach, but his offensive linemen haven't and he decided to let them know about it. Is this different from how college football coaches typically handle poor play? Will it inspire his players to do better? And we discuss how the criticism Coach Prime has received so far sometimes misses the mark. Finally, Iowa has one of the worst offenses we've seen. As a result, they announced offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz won't return next season. Will this make Thanksgiving Dinner awkward since his dad, Kirk, is the head coach? Will Kirk leave too? How quickly would Brett fire his own son? And we laugh at some ridiculous stats from the Hawkeyes' season so far. As a bonus, we also give Brett the chance to rant about South Carolina football for a bit! Tap into this one and don't forget to check out the Gamecocks Football Captain's Log every Wednesday morning and Brett's Bets every Friday morning on the Beyond The Arc with Brandon Silvers YouTube Channel! "Now hear this. Now hear this. On this week's episode of Kirking Off we learn that McCoy's years of collapsing ceilings has caused him to only have a year left to live, so he beams over to a planet ship, buys drugs from a strange man who dresses like Pennywise, and gets married to a priestess. There is more than meets the eye on this planet of sword wielding cultists, and we learn that their overlord is some kind of Artificial Intelligence called the Oracle. It seems to guide these people with a religious pomp and circumstance, and obedience is the primary doctrine. To keep the subjects obedient the Oracle can inflict pain on troublesome folks through a neural implant. We also learn that the people who live on this planet ship have no idea that they are on a ship, and they have no idea that they are hurtling towards their demise. Brian and Dean discuss the woes of human management, and Nathan whips the word "Kismet" from the deepest recesses of his gamer brain. Questions pondered: will McCoy's marriage last? Does his new wife want it to last? Will Kirk, now a wingman, really just leave McCoy behind, or does he plan to return after the honeymoon period of McCoy's new nuptials ends? We present to you "For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky", from Star Trek: The Original Series." Todd was a little late and I was a little freaked out at the start, but overall, things turned out pretty well. We covered a number of subjects: Men's basketball beating up Iowa, which they did. It was an ass-kicking. Bowl game wrap up Iowa and the Ferentz situation. Will Brian Ferentz be fired? Will Kirk retire? Purdue being annihilated by LSU 63-7. What was the point of playing this game when everyone including the head coach of Purdue opted out? The Boilers should have just opted out of the game and given someone else a shot. Georgia's win over Ohio State. Did anyone field bad for the Buckeyes? USC's embarrassing letdown against Tulane. It was beautiful. Nebraska football news Anthony Grant officially announced he is returning next season. With Ajay Allen back, Nebraska's running back room is loaded. Rhule has completed his coaching staff. Bob Wager from Texas is his tight ends coach and today two more were reported. Finally, Todd and I spent the latter half of the show doing predictions for 2023 Nebraska athletics. The predictions are BOLD. AWESOME. You should listen. Or watch. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Dave and Andrew sit down with two special guests, Star Trek mavens Nicole Goux and Dave Baker, to look back at an episode of the original series in a bonus episode celebrating the roots of Trek. Has Spock gone wild? So it seems when the usually logical first officer hijacks the USS Enterprise! That nutty Vulcan abducts the retired Christopher Pike, his first commanding officer who is badly scarred, confined to a wheelchair and barely able to communicate. Spock locks the Enterprise on course for the forbidden planet Talos IV and submits to be court martialed for treason by Kirk, Commodore Mendez and Pike himself. Spock offers his defense through a series of mental projections from Talos IV that tell of an early adventure where a healthy Pike is kidnapped by the Talosians who experiment on him along with a human woman, Vina, in an effort to get them to mate. The Enterprise crew lead by Pike’s first officer, Number One, and Spock attempt to penetrate the Talosian’s fortress to rescue their captain. Will the early Enterprise crew be able to rescue Pike? Will Spock be acquitted for his crimes? Will Kirk ever be able to trust his first officer again? Will anyone tell young Spock to quit with the yelling and get a haircut?

Lindsey's friend, boss, and co-host of the Food Fight podcast, Kirk Pynchon stops by the Zoom room this week. Because Kirk was a dance major in the height of his jerkiness, Lindsey takes us to Dance class where we learn which famous rapper was once a professional ballet dancer. THIS IS WHY WE DO THIS SHOW, PEOPLE! Kelly tortures us with a Math class and double tortures Kirk because it's all about brunch and Kirk doesn't like brunch. Wait, why are we friends with him again? At recess we play a game of Truth or Dare where we learn that Kirk has a very peculiar alone time activity involving pee. Kirk, a self-proclaimed former jerk-face (he said it, not us) was on the basketball team so Lindsey takes the kids to Basketball class, AKA Gym class, as "Coach Fred" where we learn that Kirk had a really mean basketball coach but he probably deserved it because he was not the nicest peach basket on the block. And because Kirk hosted a variety show in high school, Kelly takes us to Drama class where we have a little variety show of our own. There's tap dancing, fire breathing and churros! Can you believe it? Don't. There's none of that. This is a podcast, people. We write quizzes and guess the answers. That's it. Will Kelly wow us with her double dribble slam dunk? Will Kirk suddenly learn what math is and wow us with his subtraction skills? Will Lindsey be able to form a single sentence and wow us for being able to speak? Nope. But you should listen anyway. Reporting by Vicky Baker Drama by Chloe Moss Anna Delvey was due to come into a trust fund of $67m on her 26th birthday. She was on her way to establishing the Anna Delvey Foundation, a multi-million dollar visual-arts centre in the heart of New York City. She filled her time with champagne brunches and stays in penthouse suites, as she wined and dined the New York elites to secure investment for her project. It all sounded wonderful. Except, it was all a lie. Behind Anna Delvey, the heiress, was Anna Sorokin, the recent magazine intern. Out of nothing, this otherwise unremarkable twenty-something had reinvented herself as a multi-millionaire socialite, conning businesses and friends out of thousands of dollars in the process. But how? How did she manage to live a life of luxury for so long? How did she make anyone believe her story? How did she get people to trust her enough to give her their money? Journalist Vicky Baker and playwright Chloe Moss dig deeper into the New York scandal, and mix drama with documentary to tell the story of Anna Delvey's rise and fall. Anna is played by Bella Dayne Other parts are played by Chris Lew Kum Hoi, Heather Craney, Will Kirk, Scarlett Courtney, Neil McCaul, Clive Hayward, Ian Conningham, Lucy Reynolds, Adam Courting, Greg Jones, Laura Christy, Jessica Turner, Ikky Elyas, Sinead MacInnes. Director: Sasha Yevtushenko
