Use slick animation, vibrant colors, and a complete lack of limbs to defeat the evil Mr. Dark in Rayman! In this giant-spiky-fruit-sized episode, we learn the history of Ubisoft as well as Rayman's platform-hopping path to production. We then walk through the game, compare the different ports, find a Portuguese typo, and cover more previews and reviews than you can shake an Electoon at. But don't shake Electoons, kids, they're our friends. Also included is feedback from Clinton, Roberth, Bill Kendrick, Greg, JB, Weird and Retro, cubanismo, RollOut, DoctorClu, tripled79, Justin, Sabertooth, TrekMD, SuperRetro64, Arethius, and Brian in Albuquerque! This past weekend, Bill and Lucy Lange hosted the Atari Party East at their home in Somerset NJ, close to where Atari had an office back in the 80s. Atari Party was started by Bill Kendrick in CA, and Bill decided to pick up the torch for those of us on the East coast! It was a great time, and this is just a short episode about the day. Thanks to Bill and Lucy and everyone who attended, we are looking forward to next year. Thanks for listening! In this episode of the Atari 5200 Podcast... The crew covers the game that changed the computer and gaming world, STAR RAIDERS! David's meticulous notes pay off by giving more detail than you ever needed to know about a single game. Glen keeps the show on track. And Bob waxes poetically about how he wasted his teenage years and how he got lucky only by picking a career that uses video game skills. And since it's always good to get a second set of prints at a crime scene, we drag the ever-amazing Bill Kendrick of Atari Party fame and other retro endeavors into being a guest host to talk about this amazing game. Memories, Allergies, Technical Difficulties, and more! On this episode of The Atari 5200 Podcast!!!

SUMMERTIME! AND THE LIVING IS EASY! The gameplay, on the other hand...not so much. KOOL-AID MAN, 1983 from Mattel Electronics, is our focus this week. This game is basically the video equivalent of my six-year-old after a Tootsie Roll. The Thirsties are running around ruining your pool party by drinking all the water. Kool-Aid Man is running around like a maniac trying to stop them. It's like you and your kid at your kid's birthday party. The sugar rush keeps the game going until all at once it's over and you just feel a little light-headed and tired. Drink up! My thanks to Kevin McLeod at Incompetech.com for creative commons license to his songs "Reformat", "Take a Chance" and "Pinball Spring."
