Welcome to your weekly UAS News Update. We have 4 stories for you this week. Zipline expands its drone delivery service into Texas through a partnership with Walmart, NASA is developing a new system designed to predict drone hazards before they happen, Pierce Aerospace has deployed drone detectors to the US Border, and BRINC raises $75m.First up this week, Zipline is bringing its drone delivery service to the Dallas area, starting in Mesquite, Texas. This expansion comes through a partnership with retail giant Walmart. Customers in the service area can now sign up to get orders delivered in about 30 minutes using Zipline's latest drone model, the P2 Zip.The drone can carry payloads up to eight pounds within a 10-mile radius. Zipline boasts about their precision, claiming "dinner plate-level" accuracy, meaning they can land a package on a space as small as a doorstep or a small table. The P2 Zip uses both lift and cruise propellers and has a fixed-wing design, which helps it fly quietly and handle gusts of wind up to 45 miles per hour, even in the rain. The delivery process is interesting: the P2 Zip hovers around 300 feet up, then lowers a smaller container, called the 'delivery zip,' on a tether. This smaller unit uses fan-like thrusters to maneuver precisely into place before gently setting the package down. Both parts use cameras, sensors, and Nvidia chips to navigate and avoid obstacles.Next up, NASA is working on making drone flights safer with an advanced software system designed to predict potential airborne hazards *before* they actually occur. It's called the In-Time Aviation Safety Management System, or IASMS for short. The main idea behind IASMS is real-time risk assessment. Instead of just reacting when something goes wrong, like a loss of navigation or communication, the system aims to anticipate these kinds of threats and alert drone operators ahead of time.Michael Vincent from NASA's Langley Research Center put it simply, saying the system ideally works unnoticed in the background, only intervening right before an unusual situation might arise. NASA has been putting IASMS through its paces. Back on March 5th, they ran extensive simulations at the Ames Research Center. These focused on complex scenarios like hurricane relief missions involving multiple drones doing things like beyond-visual-line-of-sight supply drops and inspections.Next up, Pierce Aerospace just announced a partnership with a company called Skylark Labs, bringing some next-level drone detection tech to the US-Mexico border and beyond. Basically, they've put Pierce's YR1 Remote ID Sensor and other drone detection sensors on Skylark's 100-foot Scout Tower, alongside this tech they are calling "Superintelligence AI."What makes this setup special is that the AI actually learns in real-time from the data it collects in the field, rather than relying on pre-programmed stuff that might be outdated. The system can detect, track, and identify drones and other potential threats, giving border security and law enforcement a much better picture of what's happening both in the air and on the ground. Last up, Seattle-based drone manufacturer BRINC secured $75m in new funding and announced a strategic alliance with Motorola Solutions. The alliance integrates BRINC drones with Motorola's APX radios, VESTA 911 call management systems, Computer Aided Dispatch, and Real-Time Crime Center Software. This means that drones could get dispatched automatically.Join us later for happy hour in the community. We are also BACK for the live Q&A on Monday after a 3-week hiatus due to the move and travel. In a class that's sure to be full of surprises in its debut season, Chase Black threw the first Parts Unlimited Talent Cup By Motul curveball when he came out on top of the timesheets in the two-day Dunlop preseason test at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, Texas, this week. Black and his Chase Black Racing Krämer APX-350 MA led the way on both days and was the only rider to crack the 1:21 barrier. We caught up with the 18-year-old just hours after the test concluded to chat about the test, his new Krämer, the series opening round at Circuit of The Americas, and his life away from racing (which is mostly just more racing) on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.Support the show

With over 30 locations, CPP's leadership team has built one of Canada's largest and highest-rated MedSpa networks, Victoria Park. Dan brings a data-driven approach to the industry and focuses on the importance of culture and people in running successful clinics. Summary: In this episode, Terri Ross interviews Dan Schacter, the CEO of Cosmetic Physician Partners (CPP), about the process of selling a med spa or plastic surgery practice. Dan shares insights on when the right time to sell might be, the factors that affect valuation, and the importance of culture and people in running a successful clinic. He also provides tips for preparing for a sale and finding the right partner. Key Takeaways: The right time to sell a practice depends on factors such as whether you're still having fun, if your business is still growing, and if you've prepared yourself for the sale. In this edition of APX's Getting Uncaged, Chris gets up close and personal about men, whom need to take their place as The PRIZE. Men can Protect and Provide, which equals to creating presence and demanding respect. Maintaining an athletic figure and remaining booksmart can make you a lethal weapon. Chris also lifts the veil on many, whom adopt autocratic leadership and how that will be the foundation of disaster. #theprize #legacy #whatmattersmost Get 10% off your next purchase of JockoFuel - https://store.jockofuel.com/?ref=chris

In the first solo episode for APX, Chris talks about the discrepancy behind being "Qualified." While it is a good to have book-strong knowledge on a field of interest or profession, many popular legends like that of Larry King and Steve Harvey, have achieved monumental success without ever having obtained a college degree. Chris also sheds light around the factual reason as to why becoming qualified helps land you in the right doors . . . . And how to remain there!!! #GodlyMasculinity #ApexPredator

This is the second of our two part series on the relationship between flourishing and flow - in particular about flourishing at work. Our guests for this episode are Dr Jared Weintraub and Dr Gerrit McGowan. Dr Jared Weintraub is the founder of The Flow Group, LLC., an organizational and business development firm that works with individuals and companies to create and maintain happy, healthy, and productive workplaces. Jared holds a Ph.D. from Hofstra University, a Master's degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and a certification as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR). He has worked with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, and organizations across various industries, providing internal and external consulting, coaching, and managing marketing and sales teams. He recently received his Ph.D. in Applied Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University, where he researched Flow Theory - how, when, and why individuals, teams, and organizations can get into “the Zone.” Most recently, this research has explored how we can use technology-based solutions to "nudge" behavior change in order to develop key competencies for flourishing at work. His over ten years of experience include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, designing and implementing training programs, employee engagement, performance management, needs assessment, employment law compliance, administration of benefits... Dr Gerrit McGowan is a 4x startup founder, angel investor, and peak performance coach. He is the founder of the Syntegrity Group, Kula.com, Effectuate Apps, ICELab, the Most Awesome Founder Podcast, the WHU Accelerator, and numerous other short-lived ventures. But he is perhaps most recognised for inventing the concept of Cause-Related Loyalty Marketing and its SaaS implementations such as MyCoke Rewards Donate to Schools, Kellogg's Points with Purpose, Red Robin Eat Up-Give Back Rewards, and JetBlue's TrueGiving. When not building ventures, Gerrit is helping others build theirs - having coached over 1000 founders and nascent entrepreneurs across five continents. He is a All-Star Mentor for Techstars, CEO Coach for Alchemist Accelerator, mentor for APX, Founder Institute, Earlybird VisionLab, and advisor/investor/shareholder in numerous high-growth ventures. Throughout his career, Gerrit has led the development of over a dozen technology products; raised over $10m in funding; and supported startups that have raised over $100m in venture capital. His work has been honoured with two Canadian Institute of Planners Awards for Excellence; as a finalist for the Guardian's Social Enterprise of the Year Award; and a SXSW Startup Showcase selection. Key takeaways are: 1. Spend time on goal setting and strategies for execution 2. Prioritize recovery to sustain performance and avoid longer term burnout 3. Make sure your workplace allows space for your recovery 4. Find the right balance of challenge in the things you take on www.flourishfmpodcast.com
