In this episode of John Solomon Reports, hosts John Solomon and Amanda Head presents a powerful discussion on the troubling rise of nonprofit organizations engaging in questionable activities that undermine American values. Kicking off the episode is an exclusive interview with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, who sheds light on the government's efforts to investigate nonprofits that have strayed from their charitable missions and are now involved in funding extremism and obstructing law enforcement.Solomon also welcomes Congressman Brandon Gill, chairman of the House Task Force on Nonprofit Abuses, who outlines the committee's focus on tackling Medicaid fraud and the misuse of taxpayer dollars by NGOs. Gill discusses the alarming trend of nonprofits transferring funds to political organizations, raising concerns about potential corruption and the integrity of tax-exempt status. The episode further explores the implications of foreign influence in American nonprofits, featuring insights from James Fitzpatrick of the Center for Advanced Security in America. Fitzpatrick reveals troubling connections between certain NGOs and foreign entities, emphasizing the need for stricter regulations to protect American taxpayers. Finally, Scott Walter, president of the Capital Research Center, joins the conversation to discuss the broader implications of foreign funding in U.S. politics and the urgent need for reform in the nonprofit sector. This week on The Narrative, Aaron and David address the Supreme Court’s 7–2 ruling that blocked a 5th Circuit decision that had temporarily restricted mail-order abortion pills nationwide. Justice Thomas’s fierce dissent invoked the Comstock Act against mailing drugs, and the FDA Director Marty Makary’s abrupt resignation brought renewed hope to many pro-life advocates. On a related note, in Ohio, David recently testified in favor of House Bill 324, the Patient Protection Act, which mandates in-person doctor visits and bans mail delivery for high-risk drugs. The legislation effectively defeats pro-abortion objections at the Statehouse by neutrally targeting all high-risk medications rather than uniquely targeting abortion. After the news, Parker Thayer, a researcher with Capital Research Center and contributor to the Daily Wire, shares his insights on the massive Medicaid home-care fraud scheme in Ohio that proved the state’s optional GPS and signature verification systems failed to track actual patient care. Following the report's publication, Ohio implemented a total freeze on new home-care companies and restored mandatory GPS tracking. Listen now or queue up the podcast for your commute!

It's all real, and it's all been uncovered in Columbus, Ohio, where millions of taxpayer dollars are disappearing into questionable home healthcare businesses and the state government and the businesses have few answers to many, many questions. For the past decade, one entity has become predominant in secretive giving on the left of the political spectrum: Arabella Advisors. It goes by a lot of different names, like the New Venture Fund, the Windward Fund, 1630 Fund. This panoply of organizations represents hundreds of nonprofit entities ranging from full-fledged 501(c)3s and 501(c)4s to astroturf groups that only exist as websites. Billions of dollars have flowed into and out of these Arabella entities, all working to counter free markets and conservative ideas and to advance progressive ideology. Despite its major influence, Arabella is still pretty secretive. But one individual thoroughly understands the reach of Arabella and its tentacles: Scott Walter, the president of Capital Research Center, which focuses on the sources and influence of philanthropic dollars on the left.
“I'm seeing crime, chaos, and death on the streets of America. ... The homeless are being used. And Antifa, the far left activists, they want to keep the tent encampments on America's streets to show that capitalism isn't working,” said Jonathan Choe, a reporter for Turning Point USA's Frontlines and a senior journalism fellow at the Discovery Institute. At Turning Point USA's AmFest conference, I sat down with Choe to discuss his investigations into Antifa and the homelessness epidemic in America. While some nonprofits are really helping people, Choe said, he believes a sizable portion of the sector has become a multi-billion-dollar “cash cow” of grift and counterproductive aid.“For years now, the so-called experts of the medical community—instead of getting people into treatment and recovery—have been giving away free meth pipes, fentanyl foil,” he said.In 2025, he and several of his colleagues worked on a joint study by the Capital Research Center and the Discovery Institute that revealed a notable intersection between Antifa and the homelessness nonprofit space, he said.Antifa members have embedded in the homelessness nonprofit sector and many of them have day jobs in the space, he said.“A lot of [Antifa's] ideas to bring communism, Marxism, to destabilize America, to usher in a brand new communist revolution that's part of the homeless industrial complex now,” he said.In October 2025, Choe and other journalists, including Andy Ngo, participated in a White House roundtable to share their knowledge about Antifa with President Donald Trump.A month earlier, Trump had signed an executive order designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. And in July 2025, he signed another order called “Ending Crime and Disorder on America's Streets” that takes a more aggressive treatment-first instead of housing-first approach to homelessness. Many states, including Washington and California, are now suing the Trump administration.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

One of the ironies of the left is they boast about backing democracy and then support people who despise Western civilization in its entirety. WATCH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vasUSAvySJE&t=2s Alan Skorski sat down with Ryan Mauro, an investigative researcher at the Capital Research Center, whose groundbreaking research exposed direct connections between George Soros, his Open Society Foundations, and Hamas-supporting groups in America. Mauro originally broke the news during an interview with Glenn Beck, who for years has warned Americans about Soros' dangerous ties to anti-Israel and anti-American movements. In a 90-page report titled Exclusive: Soros' Open Society Gave Terrorist and Pro-Terror Groups Over $80 Million, Mauro documents how since 2016, Soros' Open Society—now operated alongside his son Alexander—funneled more than $80 million into extremist groups. According to Mauro, “The evidence is stark: Open Society has sent millions of dollars into U.S.-based organizations that engage in ‘direct actions' the FBI defines as domestic terrorism.” The investigation breaks down Soros' funding into three categories: Direct Assistance to Domestic Terrorism: At least $23.2 million to seven groups engaged in violence, property destruction, sabotage, and other FBI-defined domestic terrorism. Support for Terrorism Abroad: Over $50.5 million to 41 groups that endorsed attacks such as Hamas' October 7 massacre or are tied to foreign terror groups. Associates of Terrorist Groups: More than $9.3 million to five organizations that provide material assistance to pro-terrorism networks, even while condemning attacks publicly. Among the groups cited in the report is the BlackOUT Collective, which published a pro-Hamas guide glorifying the October 7 attacks and providing detailed instructions on illegal actions including property destruction, using fake IDs, evading police, seizing assets, and blockades—all of which qualify as domestic terrorism. Other beneficiaries include Movement for Black Lives (at least $18 million) and Dream Defenders ($1.85 million), which partnered with BlackOUT Collective to produce the pro-Hamas guide using Ruckus Society materials. Even the New York Times acknowledged the merits of Mauro's findings, which multiple outlets have covered. Following the revelations, President Trump's DOJ has reportedly launched an investigation into George Soros, his son Alex, and the Open Society Foundations. Mauro told Skorski that the American public must understand the danger of allowing billions of dollars in foreign-backed influence operations to support groups working hand-in-hand with terrorist movements: “This is not just political activism. It is funding that has empowered extremists who openly justify terrorism and promote violence in the United States.” The full report on Soros funding for pro-Hamas groups can be found here: https://capitalresearch.org/app/uploads/CRC_SorosReport_10-2.pdf -VIN News Alan Skorski Reports 06OCT2025 - PODCAST

After widely publicized revelations of highly ideological nonprofits receiving federal funds and spending them on highly ideological projects, the Trump administration (and now, through the “rescissions” package and “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” passed before Congress went on its August district work period, also even Congress) has started cutting off some of those nonprofit-led projects. What does this mean for the nonprofit sector? “I'm Sorry, Dave.” It's not that George Soros was born in 2008 but he became part of the political zeitgeist that year as we learned about how he helped raise a fortune for the Presidential aspirations of a young Senator from Illinois named Barrack. Ever since then the specter of Soros and his money has hung over every discussion about democracy in the United States. Last year he announced that he was stepping back from the day-to-day operations in favor of his son Alex, who he calls far more politically active than he ever was, taking over. The fear in Conservative circles was that a more politically aggressive, more targeted Soros organization at Open society would be harder to even keep up with, never mind defeat. The Soros organization is the key pole underneath the tent of a fundraising machine called Arabella Advisors. They are a philanthropic consulting company that oversees a handful of nonprofits, all of which oversee a multitude of left-leaning projects and organizations. When accounting for the seven nonprofits in the Arabella Network, they provided nearly $1 billion in grants in 2023 alone. One group that has done an exquisite job all the way to the point of publishing a book on who Arabella Advisors are is the Capital Research Center. In a recent interview with podcast host Alan Skorski, investigative researcher Ryan Mauro of the Capital Research Center sounded the alarm on what he described as an increasingly dangerous coalition of extremist groups operating in the United States under the banner of pro-Palestinian activism. Mauro, who has spent years researching radical networks including Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), and the Marxist-linked Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), claims that nearly 500 groups across the country are united not only by hostility toward Israel, but by a broader agenda to undermine the United States. “Many of these extremist groups hate Israel because of America—not the other way around,” Mauro told Skorski, challenging what he says is a commonly held assumption about the motivations behind anti-Israel activism. Among the most concerning groups identified in his research is Unity of Fields (UoF), a Palestinian group that explicitly promotes militant protest tactics and has engaged in direct confrontations with U.S. police. Mauro said the group's stated mission is to “disrupt and dismantle Zionism and U.S. imperialism through direct militant actions.” The group frequently deploys slogans such as “No cops, no KKK, no Fascist USA!” and refers to the NYPD as “IOF-trained pigs,” a reference to the Israel Defense Forces. In a recent paper titled Marching Towards Violence, Mauro reports that anarchist groups are increasingly aiming to operate as an “anti-police wannabe insurgency.” He said that his research tracked 150 of the most active “pro-Palestinian” groups on social media in the 15 months before and after the October 7 Hamas-led terror attack in Israel. The findings showed a 186% increase in anti-American rhetoric and a more than 3,000% rise in posts calling for violence on U.S. soil. Mauro also warned of an unlikely alliance between far-left and far-right elements seeking to exploit civil unrest in the U.S. “They believe that once the system collapses, their ideology will rise to the top,” he said. “It's an accelerationist strategy.” Despite what he describes as a current moment of unity among radical groups, Mauro predicts internal fractures ahead. He believes Indian Hindus may become the next target of the radical coalition due to tensions between India and Pakistan. “Once these groups pivot to attacking Hindus, it will become clear they were never about Palestine,” Mauro said. “They jump from cause to cause to create chaos and insurgency in America.” Mauro also emphasized the threat posed by far-right antisemitism, pointing to conspiracy theories spread by figures such as Tucker Carlson and controversial statements from conservative commentator Candace Owens. “The far-left's antisemitism is dangerous, but the far-right can't be ignored,” Mauro said. “We're seeing toxic ideologies from both ends feeding into the same destructive current.” Mauro's research, including publications such as When Charities Betray America: How “Pro-Palestinian” Protest Groups Promote Anti-Americanism and Pro-Hamas Extremism Taking Root in America, forms part of an expanding body of work examining domestic extremism and its links to global terror movements. On Friday's Mark Levin Show, amid numerous threats from abroad and pressing domestic issues, it's outrageous that the media is fixated on Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant, documented wife-beater, and alleged MS-13 gang member. Garcia has been ruled deportable by immigration courts and the Department of Homeland Security due to his gang ties and illegal status. Despite clear evidence, the media ignores his criminality, and Democrats defend him. The ruling class protects Garcia while criticizing President Trump, yet it ignores Biden's defiance of Supreme Court orders on student loans. Also, the 14th Amendment does not provide for birthright citizenship, contrary to media claims, and its authors never intended it to include such a right. At no time did the authors of the 14th Amendment ever mention birthright citizenship. For 40 years AFTER the ratification of the 14th Amendment no court had ruled, and no Congress had argued that there was something called birthright citizenship. Later, the Capital Research Center's report, "When Charities Betray America," examines how certain "pro-Palestinian" groups, specifically Within Our Lifetime (WOL), Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), and Code Pink, have increasingly promoted anti-American and anti-police rhetoric since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel. Analyzing thousands of social media posts, the study found a 3,000% surge in calls for violence and a 186% increase in anti-American and anti-police keywords among 496 groups and activists, many tied to nonprofits or charities. Finally, Jim Trusty calls in to explain that the DOJ's decision to seek the death penalty for Luigi Mangione, which raises complex legal issues, including federal jurisdiction over a traditionally state-handled crime. While we at Capital Research Center may not have a favorite Internal Revenue Service regulation, we do find one to be particularly relevant to our work on nonprofits in the public policy process: “Restriction of political campaign intervention by Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.” Long story short, if you're a public charity, you're free to be […]
