Tension is high in Indian administered Kashmir following the killing on 22nd April of 26 civilians almost all of whom were Hindu tourists. They were visiting Pahalgam - an area often described as the “Switzerland of India”. Militants opened fire on them and in the days since relations between India and Pakistan, which both claim Kashmir in full but only administer it in part, have deteriorated. India accuses Pakistan of supporting the militants and Islamabad rejects the allegations. This is the latest attack in a decades-long dispute over the region. David Aaronovitch and guests ask what happens next and what sort of a response we are likely to see from India and also Pakistan? Guests: Andrew Whitehead: Former BBC India correspondent and expert on Kashmir and its history, author of ‘A Mission in Kashmir' Anbarasan Ethirajan: BBC South Asia Regional Editor Husain Haqqani : Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute in Washington DC and former Pakistan ambassador to Sri Lanka and the US Michael Kugelman - South Asia analyst based in Washington DC and author of Foreign Policy magazine's South Asia Brief newsletter Sumantra Bose: Professor of International and Comparative Politics at Krea University in India and author of Kashmir at the Crossroads: Inside a 21st-Century ConflictPresenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Nathan Gower, Kirsteen Knight Production co-ordinator: Gemma Ashman Sound engineers: Sarah Hockley and James Beard Editor: Richard Vadon

Forte de son expérience aux côtés de nombreux collectifs, Sarah partage un regard d'une rare justesse.Je vous souhaite une très belle écoute en sa compagnie.Hébergé par Ausha. Three survivors of Alaskan plane crash rescued; Muslim militants kill 9 in Congo, Africa; King Charles hospitalized from cancer treatment side effects

It's Friday, March 28th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslim militants kill 9 in Congo, Africa Muslim militants from the Allied Democratic Forces, a terrorist group, launched a brutal assault in North Kivu, Congo, Africa on March 8th, killing at least nine people, reports International Christian Concern. The attack began at dawn, catching villagers by surprise. Armed with guns and machetes, the Muslims targeted the farming community, swiftly overpowering the residents. The assault, which included the destruction of homes, left dozens of families displaced, worsening an already dire humanitarian crisis in the region. Eastern Congo remains plagued by violence, with more than 100 armed groups vying for control of the region's valuable resources. The innocent civilians continue to bear the heaviest cost. Despite repeated calls for action, the Congo government has been unable to protect its citizens from these frequent raids. According to Open Doors, Congo, Africa is the 35th most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. King Charles hospitalized from cancer treatment side effects Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles III was taken to the hospital in a car yesterday after suffering predictable side effects from his cancer treatment, reports The U.S. Sun. He has had to cancel a string of engagements set for today in Birmingham, England. And he was unable to greet Ambassadors of three different nations yesterday. The King was at home at Clarence House last night where he was said to be in good form and continuing to work on State Papers and making calls from his study. (Look at the rooms inside Clarence House). On January 17, 2024, Buckingham Palace announced the King was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate. Then, on February 5th, the Palace revealed that the doctors discovered that he had cancer while operating on his prostate. Please pray for the full recovery of King Charles with minimal side effects. Trump affirmed two God-given genders, opposition to transgenderism President Donald Trump criticized gender ideology during a recent Women's History Month event held at the White House on March 25th. He reaffirmed the two genders created by God. TRUMP: “On Day One, I made the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female. Is there anybody that disagrees with that in this room? (laughter)  I was thinking, maybe somebody from the press might raise their head. I don't think so. “For four long years, we had an administration that tried to abolish the very concept of womanhood and replace it with radical gender ideology. They destroyed women's spaces and even tried to replace the word ‘mother' with the term ‘birther person.' A mother became a ‘birther person.'  “Under the Trump administration, we're ending the Marxist war on women, and we're protecting women's rights, defending women's dignity, and standing up for the American moms and daughters.” Trump also made a definitive statement about men who pretend to be women. TRUMP: “No matter how many surgeries you have or chemicals you inject, if you're born with male DNA in every cell of your body, you can never become a woman! You're not going to be a woman. (applause) And that's why, last month, I proudly signed a historic Executive Order to ban men from competing in women's sports. And it was very popular.” Trump withdraws Stefanik's nomination to be U.N. Ambassador President Donald Trump has withdrawn the nomination of Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York to be U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, reports The Epoch Times. Trump announced the move on Truth Social on March 27th, citing the narrow majority that the GOP has in the House of Representatives. He wrote, “As we advance our America First Agenda, it is essential that we maintain EVERY Republican Seat in Congress. I have asked Elise, as one of my biggest Allies, to remain in Congress to help me deliver Historic Tax Cuts, GREAT Jobs, Record Economic Growth, a Secure Border, Energy Dominance, Peace Through Strength, and much more, so we can MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. With a very tight Majority, I don't want to take a chance on anyone else running for Elise's seat.” Trump said Stefanik will join his administration in the future. Manhattan's Planned Parenthood closes after years of pro-life prayer After years of monthly prayer processions, often led by a pro-life activist priest named Fidelis Moscinski, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York has announced it will be selling its SoHo building and shutting down its Manhattan abortion mill, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Wendy Stark, the New York abortion giant CEO, claimed the decision was made due to “the gap between inflation and stagnant (Medicaid/insurance) reimbursement rates.” Christian pro-lifers, like David who fought Goliath, know that you cannot continue to mock the living God and expect to be victorious. Psalm 34:16 says, “The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the Earth.” Three survivors of Alaskan plane crash rescued And finally, fearing the worst after a prop plane was reported overdue for landing in Alaska last Sunday, search and rescue volunteers searched for the pilot and two children of elementary and middle school ages who had been on a sightseeing tour, reports Good News Network. Dale Eicher was one of the locals who heard the call for help. EICHER: “I saw the Facebook post about the missing plane and decided to go look for it.” Providentially, that singular Facebook post about the missing father and kids had been re-shared 420 times. John Morris, the father of the missing pilot, told CNN affiliate, Alaska's News Source, that his son's cell phone sent its final ping at about 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening over Tustumena Lake. Within an hour of flying, Eicher saw them. EICHER: “They were walking across the lake when I flew over the plane.” The Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser had crash landed on the frozen surface of Tustumena Lake. EICHER: “I was really shocked. I did expect that we would find them, but I didn't expect that we would find them alive, for sure. I've done a little bit of search and rescue before, and it doesn't always turn out this well.” The three survivors were taken to a Kenai Peninsula area hospital and treated for “non-life-threatening injuries.” When the reporter asked what motivated Dale Eicher to search for the missing plane, he said this. EICHER: “It's the right thing to do. I do volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol some. And I have my own plane.” Indeed, it was the right thing to do!  After all, as Genesis 1:27 articulates, each of us, including those three plane crash survivors in Alaska, have been created in God's image and are worthy of rescuing.

It's Tuesday, March 11th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Supreme Court takes case of Christian counselor vs. transgenderism The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a Colorado case of a counselor who has been cited for counseling clients under 18 about a Biblically sound position on homosexuality and transgenderism.   Alliance Defending Freedom will argue that the Colorado law violates counselor Kaley Chiles' freedom of speech. Colorado law currently allows counseling conversations that aim to steer young people towards transgenderism, but prohibits conversations that aim to help them to remain content with their God-given gender. Thus far, 26 out of 50 U.S. states have endorsed body-mutilating surgeries for children between the ages of 13 and 17. Thousand citizens and militants killed by Syrian government France 24 reports as many as a thousand citizens and militants have been killed by supporters of the new Syrian government over the last few days. Execution style murders are being conducted in the Alawite State of Northwest Syria, and some of the victims are Christians.   Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa denounced the violence. Al-SHARAA (through a translator): “Anyone who commits violence against civilians will be held accountable. It is our duty to protect our compatriots.” Menacing warships from Russia, China, and Iran Eastern nations are forming closer military and political alliances as warships from Russia, China, and Iran initiated joint exercises on Monday in the Gulf of Oman. This is the fifth such drill since 2019.  Dutch reject one true God, turning to false Muslim god Religious faith is declining in the Netherlands.  A recent survey found only 13% of the Dutch consider themselves Protestant, and only 4% attend Protestant churches. That compares to 6% of the Dutch aligned with the Muslim religion. The study discovered that Protestants are losing adherents by a rate of 3% every decade, while the Muslims are increasing by a rate of 1% every ten years. Swiss Evangelicals drop from 34% to 3% Another survey conducted in Switzerland found only 3% of the population attend an Evangelical church. And the Evangelical population has dropped off to 19.5% of the population, down from 34% in the year 2000. Over the same period of time, the Muslim population increased from 3.6% to 6.0%. The rate of Protestants leaving the Swiss churches has topped 1.6% per year. Catholics are leaving the church at the rate of 1.2% per year. The warning from Romans 11:20 to be humble is appropriate for the Gentile nations: “Because of unbelief [the branches] were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.”  Wyoming Gov. cuts property tax 25% and bans transgender nonsense Wyoming Republican Governor Mark Gordon signed several bills mirroring the Trump agenda over the last week.   He signed a bill cutting property tax by 25%, and another bill banning government programs which favor or disfavor people on the basis of religion, race, or sex. John MacArthur: “I'm on my last lap.” Pastor John MacArthur appeared on video at his Shepherd's Conference last week. The 85-year-old pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California and the voice of the Grace to You radio ministry has undergone three heart surgeries and lung surgery over the last several months. He noted that he's slowly recovering strength after the ordeal. He closed his address with these words. MacARTHUR:  “I realize I'm on the last lap. That takes on a new meaning when you know you're on the short end of the candle. But I am all thanks and praise to God for everything He's allowed me to be a part of and everything He's accomplished by His Word in these years of ministry. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord, Jesus Christ.” MovieGuide affirmed best pro-family movies and actors The 2025 pro-family MovieGuide annual awards were announced last week. The most inspiring movie award went to the Catholic story of “Cabrini.” The film “Reagan” on the life of the U.S. president, received the Faith and Freedom award. The most inspiring performance of an actress went to Candace Cameron Bure, for her role in “A Christmas Less Travelled” on the Great American Family Network. And the most inspiring performance for an actor was awarded to Jesse Hutch for his role in “Christmas Under the Northern Lights.” Bitcoin down, Gold up Bitcoin has lost 22% of its value in the last month. Gold is up 4%, now hovering around $2,900 and change per ounce. The U.S. trade deficit has spiked 100% year-over-year in January, hitting a record $155 billion — which would amount to almost a $2 trillion annual deficit. Exercise helps sleep And finally, it turns out that exercise is helpful for sleeping.  That's the conclusion arrived at by researchers studying a group of 2,170 people ages 60 and older. Muscle training such as lifting weights and doing pushups improved sleep scores by 5.75 points and aerobic exercise improved sleep scores by 3.76 points.  1 Timothy 4:8 reminds us that “while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, March 11th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Wednesday, November 27th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Muslims slit throats of Christians in Mozambique, Africa Barnabas Aid reports that fighters from the terrorist group called “ISIS Mozambique” killed four Christians in northern Mozambique this month. In one incident, Muslim militants slit the throats of Christians they described as “infidel Christians.” They killed another Christian in a machine gun attack.  Militants began an insurgency in the southern African country in 2017, killing thousands of people since then.  Mozambique is ranked 39th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it most dangerous to be a Christian.  Christians oppose Britain's End-of-Life Bill Christian leaders sent a letter to the United Kingdom parliament, opposing a proposed End of Life Bill. The measure would allow terminally ill adults to seek assistance in ending their own lives. The bill moves forward with a second reading on Friday. The recent letter warned, “This bill, in our view, undermines the value of life and lacks the safeguards needed to protect those most at risk from being coerced into premature death.” Trump threatens tariffs on Canada, Mexico, & China until illegals & drugs stop In the United States, President-elect Donald Trump announced his plans for tariffs on Monday.  The plan affects America's primary trading partners—Canada, Mexico, and China. At the start of his second term, Trump said Canada and Mexico will face a 25% tariff until they curb the flow of migrants and drugs across the border. Trump also announced a 10% tariff on Chinese goods, in addition to any other tariffs on the country, until it deals with fentanyl smuggling.  Trump picks Scott Turner for Sec. Housing and Urban Development Last Friday, President-elect Trump nominated Scott Turner to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Turner played football in the NFL before serving in the Texas House of Representatives. He worked in the first Trump administration, and is an associate pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.  Turner responded to the nomination on X. He wrote, “Thank you, Mr. President. I am thrilled to continue the outstanding work we began in your last administration at HUD with an incredible team. … I would also like to express the sincerest of gratitude to my mentor, Secretary Ben Carson. … We have an important mission ahead. To God be the glory. Let's get to work!” Target fired Christian who wrote “Trust in Jesus” on Target nametag KVLY-TV reports that Target has apologized for firing an employee over Christian messaging on her name tag.  Denise Kendrick worked for a Target store in Fargo, North Dakota. She said she was fired earlier this month for writing “trust in Jesus” on her Target nametag. A manager told her that she couldn't wear the nametag. Kendrick replied, “Well, I've seen people with rainbows on theirs. I'm going to continue to wear this nametag,”  And then they said, “Well, you can't work here anymore.” After the incident, a Target spokesman said, “Upon learning of the situation, we conducted a review and determined that the team member should not have been terminated. We apologized to her and offered to reinstate her immediately.” In Matthew 10:32, Jesus said, “So everyone who acknowledges Me before men, I also will acknowledge before My Father who is in Heaven.” Walmart rolls back Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies On Monday, Walmart announced it is rolling back its diversity, equity, and inclusion policies.  It's the latest large company to do so. The world's largest retailer will no longer participate in the Human Rights Campaign, the largest lobbying group for sexually perverted lifestyles in the U.S.  Robby Starbuck is a conservative activist who has been calling out companies for their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. After talking with Walmart, he wrote on X, “This is the biggest win yet for our movement to end wokeness in corporate America.” World's oldest man died And finally, the world's oldest man died in England on Monday. He was 112 years old. John Alfred Tinniswood was born on August 26, 1912, just months after the Titanic sank. He lived through both world wars and served in the British Army Pay Corps during World War II.  Tinniswood's family said he was active in retirement. He volunteered as an elder in this local church where he gave sermons. He said moderation was important to a healthy life.  Tinniswood is survived by his daughter, Susan, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Proverbs 3:1-3 says, “My son, do not forget My law, but let your heart keep My commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you. Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, November 27th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.
