The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2022/07/binary-system-podcast-324-peaky-blinders-russian-doll-and-the-return-of-sdcc/ It's been a long three years, but San Diego Comic-Con is back! This episode we do a quick recap (masking was good, cosplay was light, Marvel was interesting, IDW was innovative, and DC is copying what Marvel's doing AS USUAL) before spoiling all the things about the Peaky Blinders finale and Russian Doll season one. (We haven't watched season two yet. No one is surprised.) Along the way we also gripe about Stranger Things, congratulate Lore Olympus, and comment on how difficult it would be to see the pretty waterfalls in Yosemite when it's currently ON FIRE. This week's outro is a clip from Another-Day by Ketsa. Absolutely all of our San Diego Comic-Con 2022 coverage can be found here. https://pixelatedgeek.com/tag/sdcc-2022/ Correction: Elizabeth mentioned the amazing 2014 Secret Wars event. She meant 2015. The Russian Doll interview that Elizabeth was trying to remember was Brett Goldstein's Films to be Buried With, he was interviewing Leslye Headland, the co-creator of Russian Doll. https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/russian-dolls-leslye-headland-films-to-be-buried-brett/id1408585620?i=1000431250814 You can see the Emojibot 2.0 cosplay (with Kathryn's new helmet and Elizabeth's new legs) in this Instagram reel. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CgXhGTBBlmW/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link This is the How2Drink tweet we were talking about. https://twitter.com/How2Drink/status/1549571678363160576?s=20&t=Cm6krOIZJnedE9YUhPiwKA Looking for a present for that hard-to-shop-for person? In episode 74 of The Force Geeks: A Star Wars Podcast, Nate and Jake are joined by by their brother in the Force Chris Ridlon as they put the tenth episode of The Bad Batch, "Common Ground" under the microscope for a spoiler review. The Geeks also discuss Star Wars: The Acolyte show runner Leslye Headland's vision for the writer's room for this new chapter in the franchise and why there's so much promise for this new series based upon what inspired her fandom and love for the Galaxy far, far away. Also, it appears there is some bad news on the possibility of us ever seeing Star Wars: Detours, which is a show created by Seth Green and his team behind Robot Chicken. Green recently shared what, if any future there is for the show that already has 39 completed episodes. The Geeks also discuss how one of the stars of the upcoming The Book of Boba Fett didn't even know that was the show they were shooting. Check it all out in this episode of The Force Geeks!***Please take note that there are a few F-bombs that we let fly in this episode.***

Hope you enjoy reading, because this week BP and Todd are talking all about the canon Star Wars books. We kick the episode off with our weekly news segment, Holonet Headlines, where Todd shares an awesome interview The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland did, a new bounty hunter coming to the 'War of the Bounty Hunters' comic line, and we talk about Ming-Na Wen's recent The Bad Batch interviews. BP takes us through The Cargo Hold where we share the ludicrous amount of toys we got this week and break down some recently announced LEGO sets, statues, and one real nice figure from Hot Toys. We also share our thoughts on the whole 'Slave 1' name issue and why it's really not an issue. During The Bad Batch Report we talk about episode 9: Bounty Lost and share some highlights from the episode before diving into our main segment, Star Wars books during the Disney era. We talk all about some of our favorites, which books we recommend for beginners, books we weren't crazy about, and what we hope to see from the future of Star Wars publishing. Want to chat with us?
