Andrew Graham joins Market on Close from the NYSE set to close out the week. He discusses the story of the week: China-U.S. trade de-escalation in the form of a 90-day reduced tariff environment. Elsewhere in the markets, Andrew doesn't read too much into the survey data like Consumer Sentiment, but does think CPI and PPI data was encouraging. Looking to earnings, he says Nvidia (NVDA) is the report "everyone is going to be focusing on." ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – https://twitter.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/schwab-network/About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about
In this sermon, guest speaker, Andrew Graham, leads us in considering Mark 3:28–30. He reminds us of the incredible breadth of the Lord's forgiveness. There is no sin and no words we can speak, which the Lord will not forgive. Having pointed out this truth, he moves on to discuss "the unforgivable sin" and the ramifications of turning away once enlightened. This blasphemy of the Spirit is not a matter of speaking the wrong words but of rejecting Truth and wanting nothing to do with Christ, while knowing exactly who He is. These people don't want His forgiveness and they shall not have it. Moving on from there, Andrew Graham applies the importance of these truths to the lives of mature, established believers. Listen in and be encouraged in your pursuit of Christ.
Micron (MU) sold off despite its initial post-earnings rally, something that Andrew Graham associates with the choppy market investors are dealing with. He wouldn't buy the stock short-term but would consider it once price "comes in" from current value. Dan Geltrude argues Micron is a buy at current levels, citing its "excellent outlook" in memory solutions.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – https://twitter.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/schwab-network/About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

James St. Aubin, chief investment officer at Ocean Park Asset Management, says that as long as the economy "keeps humming along" and meets high expectations for earnings growth and stable balance sheets, the current rally should keep rolling. When that trend breaks, however, the market and economy could turn quickly; St. Aubin sees "some cracks starting to form" with consumers and with some of the economic data, and while a soft landing is possible, any problems are likely to get more painful. Also on the show, Jason Chepenik of OneDigital Retirement + Wealth discusses the firm's 2024 Employee Value Perception Study, which looks at the disconnect between what employers think workers want beyond compensation, and what workers actually are looking for from their employers. Plus, Andrew Graham, founder and portfolio manager at Jackson Square Capital, gives his take on the current market in the Market Call.
In providing commanders with the ability to command and control, computerised systems have been in use for more than 50 years. Their evolution from siloed systems inside individual units, moving across task forces, then to covering theatres has helped operators and HQ staffs orchestrate military means with increasing efficiency and lethality. The change in the last decade – according to Andrew Graham – has been in moving from enabling these domain-to-domain C2 structures to talk to each other, to one that has to integrate the data from each platform system to be seem by everyone else. Now that idea - based on an assumption of ubiquitous and constant connectivity - has evolved again. How can you operate a C2 system when to transmit data might spell certain death?

Liz Ann Sonders, chief investment strategist at Charles Schwab & Co., says the best situation for the economy and market is 'a continuation of the roll through,' where rolling recessions allow some sectors to rebound while current weakness plays out. Sonders notes that while others include the presidential election cycle into their thinking, she doesn't put much emphasis on the election especially when there are constraints -- like debt, deficit and interest costs -- that make it hard for politicians to make any needle-moving actions. In The Danger Zone, David Trainer looks at understated profits, and offers up a stock where investors are at risk of missing out on a strong buying opportunity. Lots to digest before we start recording series two…

Herb Greenberg, senior editor at Empire Financial Research, says that the overlooked story in the drop in bank stock prices is the role that exchange-traded funds likely played in making it happen. He discusses his recent article on the subject, which points to the way ETFs are traded as a significant contributing factor to the big drop in banking stocks, and notes that the same phenomenon could impact other market sectors that get hit with bad news in the future. Also on the show, Ed Carson, news editor at Investor's Business Daily, discusses the huge drop in investor sentiment during April and how it impacted all major components of the Economic Optimism Index, and portfolio manager Andrew Graham of Jackson Square Capital talks stocks in the Market Call.

The Press Democrat shares its October 2022 series marking 5 years since the 2017 wildfires. Those who lost everything say the deck was stacked against them from the start. In this episode, Press Democrat "In Your Corner" columnist Marisa Endicott and Press Democrat enterprise and investigative reporter Andrew Graham talk about the frustration that's been building as fire victims wait for compensation some five years later.
Jason Thomas, chief executive officer at Portfolio Design Labs, says that the toughest challenge facing investors right now is that safe assets -- which had done their job reasonably well during downdrafts over the last 30 years -- aren't delivering now, forcing investors to change their plans to better ride through inflationary and recessionary times. Thomas says that with the dividend portion of high-dividend stocks being undervalued, a mix of those steady payers plus short-duration bonds will help investors get through the next few years to the next phase of both the market and their investment life cycle. Also on the show, Chuck talks about The Vanguard Group's announcement this week that it was shutting down a U.S. ETF for the first time ever, and what that action says about the company and the industry -- and what it means for you -- and Andrew Graham, founder and portfolio manager at Jackson Square Capital talks in the Market Call about pursuing a growth investment strategy during a time when growth is hard to come by.
"Technology sector outperformance set up is challenging given higher nominal bond yields tend to compress valuation multiples. Lower relative valuations create an opportunity to add exposure in the most fundamentally attractive companies or stocks," says Andrew Graham. Graham provides his tech stock picks: Snowflake (SNOW), Bill.com (BILL), and Cloudflare (NET). Ed Butowsky weighs in on his communications or social media stock picks: Alphabet (GOOGL) and Meta Platforms (META), previously Facebook (FB). Also, Butowsky says that the best semiconductor stocks are AMD Inc. (AMD), Broadcom (AVGO), Applied Materials (AMAT), and Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM).

Consumers are in good shape and are spending, but inflation is hurting them," says Stephen Biggar. "Jamie Dimon weighed in on the consumer and consumer credit, which is positive for JPMorgan Chase (JPM). Buyback suspension is probably the reason why JPM stock was down after their earnings report was revealed," says Andrew Graham.
