Sarah and Hagar represent two different ways for us to interact with God. Sarah is promise and grace, and Hagar is works and law. Which will you choose?
What will our resurrected bodies be like? Similar, but different. Paul explains it in terms of a grain kernel going into the ground, dying, and producing new life.

Are you thankful for God's grace working in the lives of your friends and family? Are you thankful that it is enriching and preserving them until Christ returns?
What first drew you into Christianity and a local church? For me (Ryan), it was just something my family did every week before I understood any better. Then it became the place where my friends were, where I heard the most fantastical stories, where I got to play music, and eventually, where I felt the most accepted. But is that all it should be? In this episode, Trevor and Ryan are inspired by the language of a Missouri church's sermon on "Country Club Christianity" and delve into the unhealthy trend people fall into around church attendance and character formation. Join the conversation by commenting what you found interesting or your own stories about this sort of Chrsitianity. God's command doesn't change regardless of whether or not we want it to. It is always the same and should alsways be obeyed.
Rehoboam refused to listen to the counsel of older and wiser men when he became king of ancient Israel. It was a disastrous decision. We can learn what not to do from him.

David completed a census of the prople under his rule at the end of his reign. He did it because he wanted to know the number of fighting men in his kingdom. However, he was specifically told not to do that by God. He didn't trust the Lord's strength and saught to rely upon his own.
David preserved the life of the Lord's anointed becasue it was the right thing to do. He was to honor Saul because Saul had been placed in a position of leadership by the grace and will of God. We are to do the same.
In this message we examine Jude's prophecy from verses 17-19 about future false teachers in the church and draw a direct line to today's church. We examine and breakdown the history and influence of modernism, postmodernism, and cultural relativity on the American church and our society as a whole. We also examine the dangers of "progressive Chrsitianity" and how it has divided, diminished and declined the mainline denominations and its subtle reach into even the most theologically conservative churches. It is Lemma's turn to talk and he proposes that Christianity has been misdirected from pulpits and platforms for generations. The Bible is very clear that eternity for the faithful is NOT a life in Heaven. It's time to shed this misconception forever and ever.

In this final trailer for the podcast Secular Christ, Sean McGrath continues his seeking for Christ in the Secular Age. This time his "case study" is the Slovenian philosopher and Lacanian, Slavoj Žižek. McGrath views Žižek as one of today's intellectuals who best understands Christianity but also as a representative of the philosophy of (unredeemed) human poverty. A tragic philosophy without hope or redemption and which he also contrasts with the philosophy of human potentiality. Music in this episode is licensed under creativecommons.org. Artist. We are introducing Lewis's Sci-Fi or Ransom Trilogy. “Out of the Silent Plant is the first in the series. It is also his 2nd book to be published. “Pilgrim's Regress” was the first, 1933. This book was published five years later. For many in the group it was their first time reading the series. The book is a catalysts for so many other things he will do stylistically and with atmosphere in the rest of his literature. I hope you enjoy our thoughts on the subject.
Deception is rampant in our society, our politics, our media, and yes, also in our churches. How do we identify deception? What can we do to avoid being deceived? What principles should we live by to discern truth from deception? We'll dive into all this and more in this series!!! In this installment, we discuss the lure of false Chrsitianity, the kind that tells us we can be worldy, carnal, secular, but still be part of team Jesus. This is simply not true, and if we slowly move toward worldliness, we are, by default, moving away from God.

Let's just use some quotes from Katharine: "Instead of obsessing over the size of your sins, obsess over the grace we've been given" and "we are called to be recognized by our love for others rather than our divisions and our arguments and our judgements" and finally, "you haven't lived until you've had Texas BBQ." These sum up the episode nicely!
Early in the Bible, we are introduced to heartbreak when a man murders his brother, leaving their parents bereaved of a son. Before this violent act of anger, God graciously confronts Cain and tells him about an enemy lurking within–sin. Sin indwells each of us, and we must do battle. Thankfully, Jesus has come to forgive sins and will one day vanquish sin once for all. Until that day, each believer has been given the resources needed to fight indwelling sin with faith and from a position of victory.

Andy Byrd shares on The Send, inspiring believers to turn away from comfortable Chrsitianity and pursue the Great Commision. He calls a generation higher- inciting them to look beyond their circumstances and into the very character and nature of God. Then and only then will we reach the lost and broken in every nation of the world. He reminds us that there is only one Gospel and it requires our entire lives and our very beings. The harvest is ripe and if we are willing to give everything we are to the Lord of the harvest, we will see breakthrough.

This sermon was part of the Sunday service in which we celebrated what God did in VBS during the prior week (great stuff). This year’s VBS invited kids to dive into an adventure like no other, scouring the mysterious fathoms of the deep sea through skit, stories, crafts, games, and snacks. Thrilling discoveries awaited just beyond the portholes of their submarines. Things look very different once you get below the surface – and that’s true for life above the surface, too. As kids submerged themselves in God’s Word, they discovered that Jesus saw people differently. He didn’t just see what’s on the outside; He saw who people were down deep.

In the final part of our Jonah series Ryan tackles one of the most controversial questions in Chrsitianity. What happens to the man who has never heard the gospel?
As God disciples, He gave us power over unclean spirits and God does not want us to constantly begging for help but we must use that power to overcome the power of this world. Let us become more aware the power of the Holy Spirit inside of us.
I focus on Chrsitianity because that is my background. So every once in a while, I get people who tell me that at least Jesus was a great guy, and that even if the rest is nonsense, WWJD is a good idea and we should try to be like Jesus. I think Jesus is a moral failure. i find the concept of Jesus, the idea that a god must send his son, who is him, to save us from himself to be a repulsive idea. Tune in to find out why. Plus, your calls. Eargasms will ensue. Or you didn't pray properly for them. Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/andrewtheatheist Like the fanpage: https://www.facebook.com/AtheistRoundtable
