David completed a census of the prople under his rule at the end of his reign. He did it because he wanted to know the number of fighting men in his kingdom. However, he was specifically told not to do that by God. He didn't trust the Lord's strength and saught to rely upon his own.

David preserved the life of the Lord's anointed becasue it was the right thing to do. He was to honor Saul because Saul had been placed in a position of leadership by the grace and will of God. We are to do the same.

We are introducing Lewis's Sci-Fi or Ransom Trilogy. “Out of the Silent Plant is the first in the series. It is also his 2nd book to be published. “Pilgrim's Regress” was the first, 1933. This book was published five years later. For many in the group it was their first time reading the series. Deception is rampant in our society, our politics, our media, and yes, also in our churches. How do we identify deception? What can we do to avoid being deceived? What principles should we live by to discern truth from deception? We'll dive into all this and more in this series!!! This is simply not true, and if we slowly move toward worldliness, we are, by default, moving away from God.

Early in the Bible, we are introduced to heartbreak when a man murders his brother, leaving their parents bereaved of a son. Before this violent act of anger, God graciously confronts Cain and tells him about an enemy lurking within–sin. Sin indwells each of us, and we must do battle. Thankfully, Jesus has come to forgive sins and will one day vanquish sin once for all. Until that day, each believer has been given the resources needed to fight indwelling sin with faith and from a position of victory.

This year’s VBS invited kids to dive into an adventure like no other, scouring the mysterious fathoms of the deep sea through skit, stories, crafts, games, and snacks. Thrilling discoveries awaited just beyond the portholes of their submarines. Things look very different once you get below the surface – and that’s true for life above the surface, too. As kids submerged themselves in God’s Word, they discovered that Jesus saw people differently. He didn’t just see what’s on the outside; He saw who people were down deep.

In the final part of our Jonah series Ryan tackles one of the most controversial questions in Chrsitianity. What happens to the man who has never heard the gospel?

As God disciples, He gave us power over unclean spirits and God does not want us to constantly begging for help but we must use that power to overcome the power of this world. Let us become more aware the power of the Holy Spirit inside of us.

I focus on Chrsitianity because that is my background.  So every once in a while, I get people who tell me that at least Jesus was a great guy, and that even if the rest is nonsense, WWJD is a good idea and we should try to be like Jesus. I think Jesus is a moral failure.  i find the concept of Jesus, the idea that a god must send his son, who is him, to save us from himself to be a repulsive idea. Tune in to find out why.
