Episode 2.4Episode Description:In Part 2 of our deep dive into Genesis 1, we ask the big question: Which creation view best fits both the Bible and the observable universe? Building on our discussion of yom in Part 1, we compare major views—Young Earth, Old Earth, Theistic Evolution, and more—and examine how broader creation passages across Scripture (Job, Psalms, Romans, etc.) shape our understanding of Genesis.Michael makes the case that Old Earth Creationism aligns best with the text's linguistic structure, theological depth, and scientific evidence—from radiometric dating to starlight travel to the Big Bang. Along the way, we answer common objections and emphasize that the goal isn't to compromise Scripture, but to read it faithfully while recognizing God's revelation in both Word and world.Find our videocast here: https://youtu.be/fZX1nZbaJIUMerch here: https://take-2-podcast.printify.me/Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/reakt-music/deep-stoneLicense code: 2QZOZ2YHZ5UTE7C8Find more Take 2 Theology content at https://www.take2theology.com/

In this episode, we welcome Joby Martin back to the show. In this interview, he describes the most meaningful hunt of his life, and he answers questions about whether he is Young Earth or Old Earth, how to respond to people that disparage hunting and hunters, the biggest hurdle for men that want to become the spiritual leader of their homes, why we should never tell our children that we are disappointed in them, what we should do if we find out that our child's teacher identifies as LGBTQ+, whether or not America has a special covenant with God, how his life would be different if he knew the world would end in exactly one year, and much more. Imagine if Earth were around 6,000 years old, that evolutionary theory is nonsense, and that dinosaurs existed alongside humans.Kent Hovind is a Christian evangelist known for advocating Young Earth creationism. He founded Creation Science Evangelism in 1989, arguing that Earth is around 6,000 years old, that evolutionary theory is nonsense, and that dinosaurs existed alongside humans before the Flood.Basically, everything the Bible says is literally, historically true.
Carbon dating is often seen as a challenge to a young Earth view, but does it actually align with biblical history? Dr. Mark Harwood explains how carbon dating can be a tool for creationists, discussing key scientific principles and revealing surprising findings in coal, diamonds, and dinosaur bones. He unpacks how assumptions in radiocarbon dating methods impact results, emphasizing why the historical record, particularly the Bible, should be the ultimate authority over scientific interpretations of the past.

Is the earth millions of years old or only thousands of years old? How does that answer affect our interpretation of the Bible? And is this debate a hill worth dying on? In this episode, John and Pastor Eric sit down with Ryan D'Cruz who is a geologist and former elder at LBC. Together, they discuss these questions and more to get to the bottom of what Young Earth and Old Earth Creationists share in common.

This week we've seen that the idea of millions of years doesn't come from the rocks. It came from a belief about the past!
The Great Debate (17 September 2024) focused on Evolution, Flat Earth, and the Worldwide Flood, hosted by Victor-Hugo Vaca, who did a fine job. Dustin Nemos argued for a Flat Earth, a Young Earth (against Evolution) and a Flood of Worldwide Scope. I contended that Earth is an oblate spheroid, slightly thicker at the Equator, where Earth revolves around its axis (defining the hours of the day), the moon circles Earth (defining the months), and Earth orbits the Sun on an annual orbit (which accounts for the seasons). The exchange was divided into five-minute segments, where Dustin went first. It was very cordial and probably left the audience with a clear understanding of the differences between our positions and the kinds of evidence that support them.Source: VictorHugoArthttps://rumble.com/c/c-5462997On Sale Now - CarbonShield60 Oil Infusions 15% OFFGo to >> https://www.redpillliving.com/NEMOSCoupon Code: NEMOS-(Coupon code good for one time use)

Through a careful examination, he unpacks the logic they employ and questions its consistency. Henrey approaches the topic with humility, aiming to reveal a crucial point: Young Earthers often resist applying the scientific method to their own theories. This discussion is especially pertinent for scientists engaged in the evolution versus creation debate, offering insights into the contrasting methodologies and mindsets within this ongoing discourse. Despite Google's claim that the world is 4.54 billion years OLD, Jeffery Young makes the case for why he believes the world is 6,000(ish) years YOUNG. In this episode, Young makes the case for the Christian position know as "young earth," claiming Genesis 1 teaches God made the world in six 24 hour days. Jeffery uses geology, astronomy, and Jesus to refute google and back up his claim that the earth is young. Enjoy. Jimmy Slack will be the first to say both Young Earth and Old Earth Christians agree about the WHO, WHAT, and WHY of creation—which are the most important! However, Christians often disagree about the exact HOW and WHEN of creation. The main distinction stems from the question: Does the word “day” (Yom in Hebrew) in Genesis 1 refer to 24 hours or a long period? In this podcast episode, Slack makes the case for why he believes “day” in the text refers to a long period of time. Slack, once an atheist, has studied creation and science for the past 30+ years. He deeply loves Jesus, the Bible, and his glorious Creator. So whether you believe in young Earth or old Earth or not sure, you will find this interview fascinating (I know I did). And yes, I ask Jimmy about dinosaurs. Enjoy!
