Sal and BT debate the Mets' slim playoff chances with only six games left, with Sal declaring the team a "dead team walking" due to months of poor play, mental mistakes, and a lack of accountability from management and players alike. Sal is frustrated by the team's robotic, "just got to win" messaging and firmly believes they won't go the minimum four-and-two required to make it. Conversely, BT holds onto a "flimsy" hope, suggesting the Mets are scripted for the "hard way in," though he concedes their confidence is "shot" and they look like "zombies." The discussion focuses on whether the Mets' talent and "goofy" leadership are good enough, with Sal arguing that the team desperately needs an "awakening" and a leader to "kick them in the rear end."

Sal and BT tore into the Mets as the team faces its final six games while sitting outside of a playoff spot, questioning how a team with this much talent could be this bad. Sal refused to call it a "collapse," arguing that they've been playing poor baseball for too long, but he has zero faith they'll go at least 4-2 to clinch a spot. BT shared Sal's frustration, noting that the team's loss of confidence has led to a torrent of sloppy, fundamentally unsound play and "zombie-like" post-game reactions. Both agreed that the team has no answers, is relying too much on the idea of its talent, and is in desperate need of an "awakening" that likely won't come in time to save their season.

Planet Earth is an intricate and interconnected system, with some fundamental rules that we usually ignore. But we are part of our planet, not separate to it or just perched on top of it. This lecture will consider the two primary rules of Earth: that energy continually flows through the system (in from the Sun and then out again to space) and that matter/atoms must be continually recycled and use these to build up an outsider's view of our planet. This lecture was recorded by Helen Czerski on the 11th of September 2025 at Barnard's Inn Hall, LondonDr Helen Czerski is a physicist and oceanographer with a passion for science, sport, books, creativity, hot chocolate and investigating the interesting things in life. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University College London and her research focus is the physics of breaking waves and bubbles at the ocean surface. These bubbles change underwater sound and light, help transfer gases from ocean to atmosphere (helping the ocean breathe) and also eject ocean material into the air. She has spent months working on research ships in the Antarctic, the Pacific, the North Atlantic and the Arctic, and is an experienced field scientist. The transcript of the lecture is available from the Gresham College website: https://www.gresham.ac.uk/watch-now/life-supportGresham College has offered free public lectures for over 400 years, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Dr. Robert Groysman returns to discuss the mechanisms behind Long Covid, focusing on mitochondrial dysfunction and its role in symptoms like fatigue and brain fog.• Dr. Groysman identifies six major mechanisms in Long Covid: dysautonomia, mitochondrial dysfunction, gut dysbiosis, endothelial dysfunction, mast cell activation syndrome, and hormone imbalance• Most Long Covid patients experience multiple mechanisms simultaneously, requiring comprehensive treatment• Mitochondria are cellular organelles responsible for energy production, with different cell types having varying densities based on energy needs• COVID-19 not only damages mitochondria but uniquely impairs the body's ability to repair and replace them• Post-exertional malaise occurs when damaged mitochondria burst during overexertion, triggering inflammatory processes• Recovery requires gentle, patient approaches rather than aggressive interventions that can cause setbacks• Dr. Groysman's two-step protocol involves daily antioxidant support followed by seven days per month of carefully managed mitophagy• Complete recovery typically takes 3-12 months and cannot be rushed without risking relapses• Dysautonomia often needs treatment before other mechanisms can be successfully addressed• Pacing is critical to avoid crashes that cause additional mitochondrial damageCheck out my previous episodes with Dr. Groysman to learn more about the Stellate Ganglion block and other treatment approaches for Long Covid.Links:https://www.facebook.com/groups/longcovidsgb      https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61553548547314   https://www.longcovidfamily.com/Message the podcast! - questions will be answered on my youtube channel :) For more information about Long Covid Breathing courses & workshops, please check out LongCovidBreathing.com (music credit - Brock Hewitt, Rule of Life) Support the show~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Long Covid Podcast is self-produced & self funded. Most divers (including me) have been calling scuba gear “Life Support” equipment since the beginning. However, when considering redundancies, dive buddies, and proper SESA (Simulated Emergency Swimming Ascents), is our life truly dependent on this gear. And if so, is it truly life support, whereas if the gear fails we die? After a deep dive into this term we've all been using since the dawn of scuba diving, I believe Frank Degnan has a great point.Frank has been a scuba instructor for over 40 years, former Dive Safety Officer at Universities, is active with three agencies (PADI, NAUI, and one other). And even holds the title of Course Director Trainer with NAUI. He has won awards, teaches adaptive curriculum, and remains active in his local diving community. This is a well-articulated approach to recreational scuba diving and labeling gear “Life Support”. It's also a bit of a wake up call for how we train scuba divers and students how to properly execute Emergency Swimming Ascents, as well as knowing when it's time for a redundancy system (such as a pony bottle, etc.)I ran into Frank by happenstance while visiting the NEX Underwater Products warehouse in Monterey Bay, CA. This was neither scripted or planned, but we were already shooting content with the camera and mics when he walked in. His articulation of this topic stopped me in my tracks, and he was kind enough to let me record our conversation in virtually real time. –Kenny Dyal is the host of The Scuba Diving Podcast:TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@kenny_dyalInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sweetwater_scubaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/realkennydyalLinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/kennydyalX: https://twitter.com/RealKennyDyalwww.sweetwaterscuba.com

In this episode, we dive deep with James (Jared) Maynard—a physiotherapist, strength coach, and competitive powerlifter—who not long ago faced a life-threatening health crisis. What began as a simple head cold spiraled quickly into organ failure, a rare autoimmune condition called HLH, and five weeks on life support. James takes us through the harrowing journey of fighting for his life, grappling with the loss of his physical strength, and rebuilding himself from the ground up—both physically and mentally. Through candid conversations, he and Chris explore the daunting challenges of identity shifts, the importance of resilience, and the power of community support during times of crisis. James also opens up about how this experience reshaped his values, his priorities, and his approach to coaching others through their darkest moments. Whether you're an athlete, a coach, or someone facing a difficult path, this episode is a testament to the indomitable human spirit and the transformative potential of strength—inside and out. Join us as we explore what it truly means to be resilient, and how, sometimes, losing everything can lead to a life of even greater purpose.   Key Takeaways: Resilience Is Built Before It's Needed: Jared credits years of training for literally saving his life—his physical and mental strength gave him a fighting chance. Cultivating strength, he says, is the best kind of life insurance. Redefining Identity: When everything you've built is stripped away, you're forced to confront the core of who you are. Jared opens up about the grief of losing his physical capabilities and the deep self-reflection it prompted. He urges us all to diversify our identities beyond just what we do. The Game of Inches: Recovery started not with personal records, but with celebrating the tiniest steps—holding a phone, standing for 30 seconds, building back from two-and-a-half pound plates. The real battle is finding the discipline and optimism to keep going when the wins feel minuscule. The Power of Support: Sometimes, being tough isn't about “doing it all.” Jared shares how leaning on his family, mentors, and broader community was critical—not just physically, but emotionally. Saying Yes to What Matters: Jared's brush with mortality is a powerful reminder to focus on what truly matters—his family, his mission, and savoring the small moments.   This episode of the ARCHITECT of RESILIENCE podcast is available on Apple, Spotify & YouTube, and is sponsored by  @marekhealth : Performance. Featuring the debut of my newest offer: Life Support – Your Next Chapter Lately, I've been thinking a lot about what it really means to feel connected—and how easy it is to lose touch with that when life gets busy or noisy. In this solo episode, I share some reflections on how easy it is to miss real-life connection in the name of convenience or habit. A moment on a Boston sidewalk—where I almost complimented someone's T-shirt but held back because of earbuds—got me thinking about how much we lose when we're not fully present. From stories about life before smartphones to sitting with my favorite backyard tree, this episode is an invitation to check back in with your own sense of aliveness. I talk about how tech has shifted the way we relate, how much we're actually craving meaningful conversation and community, and why now might be the right time to re-ground yourself in what really matters. I also share a bit about Life Support—my new guided group for women who are navigating change and want more clarity, connection, and support.

Dr. Kendal Stewart shares his unique perspective on Long Covid through his background as a surgeon with training in functional medicine, neurosurgery, and cell biology. His approach examines the body as an integrated system rather than separating it into isolated specialties.• Complex conditions like Long Covid require a holistic view of the body as an interconnected system• Western medicine often silos patients into specialties based on symptoms, missing the bigger picture• T-cell weakness and microglial activation are key factors in Long Covid symptoms• The body's inflammation is doing exactly what it's programmed to do—it's not broken• Northern Europeans have particularly aggressive genetics for inflammation (76%) and often have broken "off switches"• Peptides like thymusin alpha-1 can help recover exhausted T-cells• Creating an environment favorable for healing is more effective than treating individual symptoms• Genetic testing provides a personalized "map" for treatment, focusing only on what's missing• Many people who recover become healthier than they were before getting sickLinks: Dr Stewart's YoutubeDr Stewart's InstagramDr Stewart's websiteMessage the podcast! There is no better argument against socialism and Communism than to speak to someone who has grown up and lived through the oppression. Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh has spent much of her life educating Americans about the true nature of collectivism. She describes living under Communism in Romania after the USSR imposed it on her people. There is a vivid story about how the dictatorship allowed the churches to remain, but as stooges of the Communist regime. On one occasion, an American charity donated Bibles to the church, when no one could actually have a Bible under the Communist regime. The dictatorship seized the Bibles and turned them into toilet paper. But the technology for making new paper was so poor that, thereafter, citizens kept receiving toilet paper through which the words of the Bible could be seen. I'm going to put that anecdote into our next book about freedom and love in Western Civilization versus freedom and love under dictatorships, kingdoms, and empires.   Dr. Paugh has authored many books whose titles invite them to be read. Here's a sample: Echoes of Communism (her life under Communism), Liberty on Life Support (under Obama), and U.N. Agenda 21. As a proud naturalized American citizen, she does a great job of helping Americans understand the principles that make it indeed exceptional as a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy.   I talk in the beginning about my own recent spiritual growth, if you would like to keep up with that. Ginger and I are feeling even closer in touch with God's Spirit of Freedom and God's Spirit of Love as they have been vested in America, and those spirits seem to be enjoying a renaissance among those we know.    ______   Learn more about Dr. Peter Breggin's work: https://breggin.com/   See more from Dr. Breggin's long history of being a reformer in psychiatry: https://breggin.com/Psychiatry-as-an-Instrument-of-Social-and-Political-Control   Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal, the how-to manual @ https://breggin.com/a-guide-for-prescribers-therapists-patients-and-their-families/   Get a copy of Dr. Breggin's latest book: WHO ARE THE “THEY” - THESE GLOBAL PREDATORS? Dr. Henry Mahncke and Dr. Gitendra Uswatte share groundbreaking research on using brain plasticity principles to treat Long Covid brain fog through a comprehensive approach combining cognitive processing speed training, real-world skill practice, and personalized cognitive rehabilitation strategies.• Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to change its structure and function through learning and experience• Brain HQ training targets cognitive processing speed to improve overall brain function across multiple domains• Long Covid causes real biological changes to the brain, including vascular damage and inflammation• CI Cognitive Therapy combines three components: brain training, everyday task practice, and transfer techniques• 80% of participants in the small initial study returned to work compared to none in the usual care group• Brain health bridges physical and mental health, challenging the "it's all in your head" dismissal• The intervention works by repurposing and growing healthy brain tissue rather than healing damaged tissue• Approaches vary from "bottom-up" (basic processing) to "top-down" (real-world skills) to meaningful goal setting• Brain HQ is currently available worldwide, with ongoing research to develop telehealth versions of the full interventionThe University of Alabama Birmingham is currently enrolling participants for their Long Covid cognitive rehabilitation study. Donald Trump is continuing to ramp up threats to impose high tariffs on imports from nations around the world. Most of those being targeted are allies or at least friendly trading partners. One that has yet to receive the President's intensified pressure, however, is actually a mortal enemy: Communist China.  CCP propaganda outlet Global Times reports that in just four recent days, American consumers spent $24 billion online with much of it purchasing Chinese goods via Amazon, Walmart and Target.  Retired Navy Captain James Fanell points out that Mr. Trump “needs to take to the bully pulpit and…explain [that] if Americans keep buying goods made in the PRC, they will be responsible for arming an enemy who is prepared to destroy America….If we do not decouple, then no amount of tariffs or other measures will save this nation.” Amen. This is Frank Gaffney.

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, a gay leftist journalist with adopted children attacked me as morally deranged recently for saying that gay men shouldn't adopt kids. Now a video has been released showing that same leftist journalist engaged in his own extremely morally deranged behavior with a male prostitute. Also, another terrorist attack in the US—this one targeting pro-Israel protesters. And Tinder has added a new feature allowing women to filter out short guys. Also, a female conservative pundit says that birthrates are declining because women want families but men are lazy and too busy eating DoorDash in their mother's basement.
