Shining a light on your potential is about shining a light on the value you'll make at the NEXT level. It has very little to do with the work you do now. Here are 3 ways you can shine a light on your promotable skills TODAY (1) Look for ways to add uncommon value (2) Intentionally blosson before their eyes (3) Prioritize meaningful relationships Now don't get me wrong, hard work can work for you BUT ONLY TO A CERTAIN LEVEL. Then you'll stall, plateau and find yourself either stuck or just taking lateral moves (if any move at all). You GET PROMOTED when you're noticed for promotable reasons and good work alone is NOT a promotable reason. In fact good work is a great reason for your manager to let you stay put. It's the impact you make that gets you promoted. But do you know how to make an IMPACT? Don't fret! I can teach you how.

Promotion Is About Your Potenital This is why someone can be there less time than you and outpace you; why they can have less experience than you and become your boss; why they can have fewer credentials than you and land the big role you wanted. While time on the job, good experience and solid credentials are valuable - they often fail to beat potential. Shining a light on your potential is about shining a light on the value you'll add at the next level. And that has very little to do with the work you do now. Remember… doing good work will not get you promoted. It's knowing how to shine light on your potential that opens that door. I help Women Leaders develop skills, savvy, and momentum to achieve the career success they want and deserve. You need a plan and I've got one. Let's make your potential shown & known. Let's talk about your promotion this week. www.CallWithDenise.live --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/denisetaylorlive/message
When's the last time you had a PROMOTION conversation with your manager? Some of y'all just said “Never”. Don't feel bad… it's not uncommon. You like many others expect to be recognize because of good work. And while that sounds reasonable, it's NOT an effective career strategy. The bottomline is “Your career is your business”. So this conversation requires your lead. Without knowing the specific of your situation, here's some general tips. #1 tip… Be prepared!!!! I can't stress that enough. Preparation is key
The story today is Kyla's journey to becoming a business owner. She spent a number of years finding her way. Her journey speaks of so much perseverance and it's one you need to hear. In many ways, it's similar to the transformation of a caterpillar. For them, it has to feel like everything is falling apart and there is no end in sight, yet they're transforming and they're growing into something incredibly beautiful. If you cut the cocoon and the butterfly does not have a chance to strengthen its wings by breaking out, you will disable the butterfly from being able to fly. There's always a journey that someone is persevering through. That transformation, though it may be difficult, though it may be overwhelming, is one that is going to result in them being the most beautiful they've ever been. That's what perseverance is all about. We hit hard places, yet, we overcome. We overcome that experience and that low blow, and we fly again. Today we're gonna talk about a persevering story that I believe is going to encourage you. Now, let's get into it. Kyla Denanyoh is a podcast host, lawyer, and founder of KD Creative. Wisdom from "Growing in Love" - Guest: Aisha Loveless Love is beautiful and complicated all at the same time. The truest definition of love is 100% about sacrifice. Love isn't about you at all - it's about esteeming the one you love above yourself, which makes it hard. What makes it even more complicated is when you layer in immaturity, misunderstandings, mistakes, and inexperience. Therefore "Growing in Love" takes fortitude. Aisha Loveless and her husband have been together many years and married for 18 years. They married young and essentially "grew up" as man and wife. While that seems very fairy tale-ish, the reality is love demanded more from them than they saw going in. Today we are going over her life, love and happiness wisdom; however, I urge you to watch the full episode! In this episode, we'll anchor in on love - self-love. Bernadette Jackson is serving in an area where so many women have experienced both overt and covert trauma – “Dealing with Daddy Issues.” This trauma is a reality for many and through her own life experiences, she was able to get to “Why?” Why she allowed relationships to weaken her resolve and make her powerless in ways she did not want. Why she craved love from men to validate who she was as a woman. Why she kept finding herself in the same unhealthy relationships that robbed her identity and confidence. Bernadette took the journey, through her own pain and trauma to see fully the impact of being a Fatherless daughter.
