Being a Purpose-driven Multipassionate Entrepreneur can be an arduous journey. Mainly because there isn't a predetermined path. You actually have to create it. Many of us find ourselves burned out due to mental fatigue and trying to figure out the infamous question, “What's my purpose?” We welcome the distraction of helping others reach their goals and happily ignore the nagging voice in our heads to do the thing. Expending our energy on others becomes a constant. So much so, we are spent and continuously talk ourselves out of doing the scary things our heart truly desires. In this episode I share my tactic for pushing past analysis paralysis and the loud whispers of doubt. Let's Dive In For Clarity! Be the Blueprint Takeaways “Do it for her!.” - Jateya Jones “You are the blueprint.” - Jateya Jones “As Multipassionate, we poop gold flakes with no effort. But if we put in some effort, we can poop gold bricks.” - Jateya Jones This episode is brought to you by The Plan to W.I.N. Incubator! If you desire clarity, community, and a successful strategy to transition your vision into reality, the Plan to W.I.N. Incubator is for you! During the 12-week program, I guide you through creating the HOW of your business. Many see the vision and think that's the how, but it's really the completed project. Too often we attempt to go at life alone. Repeatedly going through cycles of burnout, frustration, disappointment, and defeat. Just to finally reach out to your community and receive a flood of support and encouragement. No, our immediate “community” of family and friends don't always understand and or truly support you. However, there are a host of individuals of like-mind and heart waiting to support you. For most Multipassionates, our tribe is normally not in our area or zip codes. Multipassionates are those who have a multitude of different interests, passions, and skills without a clear idea of how they interconnect. They are high achievers, problem solvers, solution-focused, and we love to learn. When a problem presents itself, we go into problem solving mode and aim to find solutions. So often, how we feel on the inside, does not necessarily reflect how we look on the outside. We smile while fighting depression, we love others but struggle to love ourselves, and we put on a mask to mask our internal issues. Even when it seems like life is perfect on the outside, it's extremely common for most to struggle on the inside. Gurpreet Kaur suffered with depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation for 15 years. Do you make a lot of money and still find yourself in debt? Are you ready to quit your job and start a business? Are you still paying on your student loans while also preparing to send your kids off to college? Many of us assume we're doing something wrong with our money and immediately turn to budgets and financial plans, but for most of us, a financial plan isn't enough to grow and scale our income. This week on the Confident and Courageous Clarity Podcast, we sat down with nationally recognized Personal Finance Expert, Money Coach and the Founder of Sheep to Shark, Brie Sodano. Brie is here to help place more money in the hands of good women by teaching us how to attain wealth, grow from six figures, manage, save and invest our money. I'm going to get what I want, no matter what.” What is one thing you have to believe to achieve? “That you're worth it, good enough, and you have something to give.” What has embracing all aspects of you contributed to your success or confidence? “It's about power. Every aspect of yourself that's not accepted as a drain in your personal power is a drain in your money and your success. Every bit of you that you love and accept as-is, makes you a powerhouse. As visionaries and Multipassionates, we often hope that someone will come along and help us or guide us into clarity. We wait for others to rescue us or answer our prayers, but in reality we hold the answer ourselves. We are the blueprint and we have the power to create solutions for the visions that we see. Similar to how we wait for others to help us, there are also people who resonate with our journey who are waiting for us to help them. Instead of limiting ourselves or remaining bound by the limits of others, it's time we consider becoming both the blueprint that we need and that others can follow. Let's Dive In For Clarity: 2:20 - Create A Plan To W.I.N. 4:45 - Build The Blueprint 6:35 - People Are Waiting On You 8:45 - Execute & Ignite A Rippling Effect Be the Blueprint Takeaways “We have to be the blueprint.” - Jateya Jones “If you build it, they will come.” - Jateya Jones “Being the blueprint is what makes you a trailblazer and an icon.” - Jateya Jones “You're it! Would you consider yourself a perfectionist? Most entrepreneurs try to prioritize EVERYTHING! We want everything to be executed perfectly and in order, yet we often fail to find the balance between quality and perfectionism. When we spend hours trying to make one thing perfect, we lose out on time that could be better spent building or creating other things in our business. There is power in focusing and prioritizing, and once we find clarity and get super focused on our goals, we'll be able to identify what's MOST important in our business and let the rest go. This week on the Confident And Courageous Clarity Podcast, we're learning how to ditch perfectionism by using automations and buy back our time with Devin Lee! Devin Lee is an Entrepreneur, Certified Online Business Manager and Certified Dubsado Specialist. Building businesses since the age of 27, Devin is a self-proclaimed “fun big sis for your biz”. She specializes in helping clients reclaim their time and energy by perfecting and automating the client journey. Unofficially, she is the high-energy hype woman who'll bring a calm oasis to your business. When she isn't creating exceptional client experiences, you can find her studying the Enneagram, roller skating, and chasing the sun. Let's Dive In For Clarity: 05:00 - An Entrepreneurs Business Journey 11:00 - Lessons From Past Clients 16:00 - What To Look For In An OBM 20:00 - What A VIP Day Looks Like 25:25 - Accept Your Energy Cycles 31:00 - Believe It To Achieve It 35:15 - Blind Confidence Works 40:40 - Be Your Authentic Self Buy Back Your Time Takeaways “You're usually ready for an OBM when you're close to earning six figures.” - Devin Lee “Everything changed when I discovered Dubsado.” - Devin Lee “What's actually important in your business is where you put your energy. The rest you've got to let it go.” - Devin Lee “I have times throughout the day when I'm making magic movements.” - Devin Lee “I'm a night owl. Normally when my friends are waking up, I'm going to sleep.” - Jateya Jones “To be an entrepreneur, you just have to throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks.” - Devin Lee “I'm very different from a lot of people and that's okay because it's my superpower.” - Jateya Jones “Do ALL of the things if you can, until ALL of the things get in the way of Purpose.” - Jateya Jones “The things that seem impossible for us, other people do them all of the time.” - Devin Lee “The only thing that's left is you and your confidence.” - Jateya Jones The ABC's To Clarity Questions What is something that you've had to accept about your past, present, and/or future that freed you to reach infinite heights in your business? “For me, it was accepting what my energy cycles are. My primetime is from 5am - 11am and this is when I can GET STUFF Done. From 11am-3pm, I am completely useless.” What is one thing you have to believe to achieve? “I had to believe that if I took big leaps of faith, I would figure it out.” What has embracing all aspects of you contributed to your success or confidence? “During 2020, I got really into roller-skating.” Episode Mentions: Jordan Gill: Done In A Day Program - https://doneinadayprogram.com/ Connect with Devin On Social: Elevated Client Journey Workbook: https://cheerful-knitter-5221.ck.page/cab42e3100 Website: https://www.devinlee.com/ Instagram: @devinleeobm | https://www.instagram.com/devinleeobm/?hl=en TikTok: @devinleeobm | https://www.tiktok.com/@devinleeobm Connect with Me On Social: Website: http://www.jateyajones.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jateyajones/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JateyaJonesConsulting/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jateyajones/

I often felt trapped wondering if I would ever get to a place where I would be able to say what's on my heart without the fear of judgment, rejection or abandonment. [00:0027:58] You truly can create the life that you desire, the life of your dreams, like you did that from jump for you and your daughter. It's very easy to revert back to what's comfortable, even the bad stuff, because that's what we know. So it takes work, self-work to either when you have that negative thought, stop yourself mid thought and be like, “No, no, no, no. My God is bigger than this. I'm bigger than this. I can do this.” Or “No, no, no, no. Like, yeah, everybody else is doing it, but I can do it differently and better. Or at least I can still do it.” And so being able to have that self-talk and accept the things about yourself to do the work for self-development. It is hard and anybody taking the first step, to even try to do that, should patch yourself on the back every step of the way. [00:32:35] But I also see a gap when it comes to relationships around significant others and or your spouse; especially with multipassionates and not being able to communicate. Because I've seen this as always being the downfall. Especially when you are hopping around from passion to passion and they're like look we're adults, we got real bills. I wanna help you, I wanna support you because I love you however, all I see is money flowing out of door and nothing coming back in. 'Cause it comes out of nowhere…Or so we think. Normally for me, it's when a deadline is coming and I've put this thing off because it takes the most time, the most attention, and the most brainpower. [00:004:12] So normally I'm like, let me do this email and this thing on my to-do-list because they're easy, they're quick and they're in a safe or non-judgmental space; i.e. nobody is really going to have to waste their money or waste their time. It won't be a detriment to anybody else if I do this thing. But if I work on this big thing; the thing that's gonna catapult me into my dreams, into living the life of my dreams, into making it to that next level, into solving someone' problem….there's a small chance that somebody may not like it. Nobody's gonna buy it. The thing is, I'm just having an internal battle between my heart and my head. [00:006:36] Today I came to share with you. What I have found to be the reasons behind and the ways to overcome. Because I refuse to let that stop me. From one, helping you, helping myself and changing this world for the better, I refuse to be the reason that I stand in my own way. Because I stood in my own way for so long and I was tired of being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Standing in your own weigh only leaves you standing in the same spot year after year after year.

I spent the next five months with no job. Somebody here me…No job, no income. But it was the most valuable time because I had time to figure out, “how in the world did I get here? How did I find myself in this place? And most of all, how do I dig myself out of it?” And that's what I'm here to share. [00:0011:30] I know for me and that transition in 2019, I was escaping. Like I literally hit rock bottom. You don't have to get to the point that you have to escape. You can plan a transition. I know we're talking to multiple passionate people. When you break out of that mindset of, “this is all I can do” and you understand all of the ways that you can express the purpose that you're called to, then you can make a plan to transition yourself. So you don't have to escape. I eventually went back to higher education and I worked a little, but longer my most recent transition into full-time entrepreneurship was a planned transition I wasn't escaping I was transitioning. [00:013:00] You don't have to escape. You don't have to get to rock bottom. You are not stuck. I was convinced I was trapped and I was stuck. There's nothing I can do. But once you open up to understand, I call it discovering your brilliance. Once you discover your brilliance and you know what you're called to do and you realize you can do it in a lot of different ways, the whole world opens up. Then you can see clearly and you can make a plan. Rather that transition is 6 months, one year, five years, whatever it is for you, I just wanna say we escaped because we had to, but you don't have to! [00:16:13] Many times we choose our community out of convenience, so our family members, our physical neighbors, our colleagues, the people that we're just in their lives because of convenience. And that doesn't mean you don't love them or honor them. Not in a disrespectful way. But they are your community because they're already connected to you. In one way or another, but sometimes our convenient community can't understand what God is calling us to do. You need powerful community. You need community that you have to invest to get in; that you have to apply to get in. You need community that pushes you beyond where you are. Your convenience level and that will pull you forward into what you're called to do. That's where you're gonna get those comments of, “Oh yeah, you're supposed to be doing that…Why are you playing?” That's where you're gonna get those questions that challenge your mental box. Your convenient community will always keep you comfortable, because they they're comfortable. They don't understand the stretch. They don't. It doesn't make logical sense to them. But your powerful community will always call you up. They will, challenge those mental boxes. There's a certain box that you are taught to stay in. And so, you then start to have this internal battle of the heart and mind, then you really be like, am I tripping? Am I really tripping? Being able to understand, one, that you're not and two that it is a process, an emotional process and that it's not gonna take over night; no matter how many times your brain tells you to get it together. [00:003:58] People should really understand that you can't heal and try to activate your future at the same time. I think so many times people are trying to get to the future, not realizing they're gonna get to the future…You're always gonna get to the future, but you're gonna get to the future connected to your wounded self not your healed self. [00:4:38] So if you take the time and pause and heal…With healing comes evolution. I believe that. With healing comes evolution. So your future self is waiting on you to heal so that you can evolve and makes decisions from a healthier mindset.

And there's a lot of shame or internal struggles and battles that go along with which side of the fence you're on. But also, with that, there's a lack of Wellness, fitness, mental health. You're grinding. You're tired. You're like all the things. You're overwhelmed, stressed, you're not eating right, because you gotta get something quick. So there's so much that goes into, one being multi passionate, and two trying to make the transition from the nine to five to full-time entrepreneurship and or doing all things. [00:008:50] I also came to this truth, that corporate America is gonna do what corporate America wants to do. PERIOD! They set their goals. They're gonna set their objectives and lowkey it's ghetto because it's like you don't ask nobody. Can I just get a consult? Can I just get a hey, what do you think about? No, they don't even do it. So that's really what brought me to a place of starting my own business to help career driven women like myself. And like many others that I've been helping along the path to achieve harmony and healing both at home, at work and in faith through a method I call PACE. [00:9:32] But a lot of women just don't prioritize their health and Wellness. They just don't. I'm guilty of it, right? Because, like, I just shared, it was about work. It was about the hustle. It was about getting things done. It was about, you know, seeing the vision of getting to the top and thinking, I have to work my way up there. Which, I learned the hard way that's not true. [00:010:00] I've noticed, when people find their purpose, when they find out what their superhero power is or that common thread and what they do, wellness is the first thing to go. It's like I finally made it, but you ain't finally made it nowhere. Like it's literally just the beginning, right? And so, the grind starts all over again, and it doesn't feel like the grind because it's fulfilling; its filling your cup, and we don't realize that. Me included, like you just you put it off 'cause it's like OK i'm gonna finish this one thing and by the time you finish that one thing you're like OK let me go to sleep. I just had a feeling….it just was a feeling. And most of the time, you know. We know ourselves and we know when something feels aligned when it comes to things that we do and things that don't feel aligned. So for me, I was feeling like personally I was going in a certain direction in my life. I became an advocate for my own well-being. That was something that was vital for me as I start seeing the power and the benefit of becoming your own advocate. 'Cause a lot of times we're in a position where we advocate for others; in our jobs and our in our personal lives. We're always advocating for others. But how often are we really saying, “I'm going to be an advocate for myself and for my own well-being?” Not just my wellness, but my well-being. Because wellness is just a part of your being, your human being. [00:013:46] I was at a stage where I was giving from an empty cup and I would give more to others than I would give to myself. And so, it really became this reciprocal thing, where as much as I was pouring, I was being poured back into. It helped me realign and really acknowledge that, yeah you're doing it for you, but you're doing it for them too. And if you don't do for you, you can't do for them. [00:020:28] I had to start and just creating, I realized like when it feels true to me, it doesn't feel like work. It really does feel very enjoyable and I need it to be something that I enjoy. I've done the thing where I've worked and I wasn't fulfilled. So I'm not going to go in business for myself and create something that doesn't align for me. And so we have to be able to be comfortable with being uncomfortable with knowing that. Your business now is not gonna look like it will look in five years. [00:025:21] You know how Chick-fil-A even has the standard menu and then they have the seasonal menu. They change things out. You know they have standard salads, but then like there was this lemon kale salad that they were selling that I really loved. But then it was gone and it was only there for like a month or two, right? Same thing with milkshakes. They'll have the standard right and then they have the Peach and then the peppermint. I said, well, if they can do that, why am I not allowed to do that? And no one questions it. No one questions that today the Peppermint shake was there. They're selling all the other shakes too, but they decided to toss this one in there. And as a matter of fact, we're gonna toss in this type of salad too. And then maybe in two months, or whatever have you, just like that, they're gone. Why can't I? Candice's Bio: Candice is a Wellness Influencer, Creative Director & Speaker. She has always been a visionary- it's what fueled Candice and her 10+ years career in the event planning industry. Candice's goal is to help women take care of themselves because her philosophy is, “What you appreciate…appreciates.” Candice is an avid believer that wellness comes from within, and that we all deserve to feel at home in our bodies, minds, and spirits. In this day and age, you truly need to show up as a business and it doesn't take a lot of money to do so. [00:06:04] Find what works for you and definitely make sure that there are a couple of people that you know that may have used it in the past. Ask around. If you're in the clarity community, shoot a message. Everybody in there as a business of sorts, purpose driven, a majority of them are multi passionate. They can give you the lowdown on the skinny real, quick, fast and hurry of what they like and what they didn't, how much it costs, if they thought it was worth the value. So do your research. Ask around and don't just go and try to get what your coach uses.
This season Jateya has committed to speaking to the Multi-passionate Entrepreneur. From an early age many multi-passionates are coerce, dare I say forced, to choose one way of making an income. We have all heard that dreaded question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Therefore, we struggled to embrace all of our passions (what felt right). All while feeling as though we are suffocating due to forcing ourselves to choose just one. We should never have to commit to one way of making money! There's nothing wrong with it. People make it seem like you have like you have to choose. No, I'm gonna be both and you're gonna watch me do it! [00:034:54] We aren't planning for pretty. I subscribe to purposeful planning. How is this moving the needle for you personally? How was it moving the needle for the people who are experiencing it? So thinking about that present experience is really big. [00:040:26] One of the things that I have to accept is that everybody isn't going with me. A lot of people in our military community, their mindset are they settle. The military life happens to them not for them. Which I feel like it happens for me. All things work together for my good. And I feel like as much as I would love to bring people from my childhood, from my military community, from my college experiences, everybody is not coming with me. Because when I start talking about I want to make millions because I know then I can have $1,000,000 impact…That doesn't sit well with the average person. So I had to accept that even family, they're not gonna go along with me. Look, I married a whole pilot. You best believe I'm trying to get the jet. I'm trying to gas up the jet. I got stuck in Mexico just for client work. The first thing I said on the phone to my husband, as I was sitting there looking at all these flights canceling and delays, I was like, “So you know, I really need you to just gas up the jet and come get me.” That is the level that I am thinking on and everybody cannot come with me 'cause they're not going to agree, affirm, and support that mindset.
This season Jateya has committed to speaking to the Multi-passionate Entrepreneur. Many multi-passionates have heard, “Focus, stop being all over the place.” For the longest, Jateya would suggest there was a method to her madness. [00:02:32] Because when it comes to purpose work, for you to really make genuine scalable, sustainable money…you have to go from that survival mindset to thriving. And I know for many of us, survival is normal. Like that's all we know so, it's like go hard or go home, team no sleep; no none of that is healthy.

For those of you who love your 9 to 5, and can do both, shout out to you! I was that person for many, many years, but it got to the point where I truly just wanted to do this. I wanted to help people get clear. I was doing it in my job, but I wanted to do more of for passion driven, purpose driven, faith-based individuals. And so I'm so thankful to get to this point, but it didn't come without a lot of bumping my head and hopping from one passion to the next, to the next, to the next, because the last wasn't making enough fast enough. [00:07:18] I'm here to really help you hone in on what you do, not how you make your money. All of the ways that we think are our passions…well those are our how's; how we would love to make money. But they are not what you do. And contrary to popular belief, you do one thing and you do it seamlessly in your personal and your professional life. So much so that you don't even recognize it.

[00:07:44] We've seen those big-name people that everybody knows be successful. And so, we try to just replicate that and I think over the past, you know, year and a half things have changed and we're starting to realize that we don't have to do business that way. For so many people, it doesn't work to just do it like everybody else does. So, I've had to do that in my own business, and I had to like get a lot of my clients going out of that mindset of we don't need a website that looks exactly like somebody else. We need something that fits you and your business and that you can just get out there. [00:08:28] One of the major things that I try to get across to people is that if you don't look like cookie cutter, you actually stand out more and those people that are waiting for you, seeking for you, like Chick-fil-A on a Sunday, they'll actually be able to find you because you stand out. It's like, once you get a car, nobody had that color car before you and now everybody has it and you'll walk up to someone else's car in the parking lot at the grocery store thinking it's your car because it blends in. And you don't wanna do that; you wanna stand out. It is vital to business to stand out. [00:12:22] You do have to learn how to call an audible and adjust to what works for you. Because doing it like everybody else you're gonna be burnt out and not show up as your best self.

I knew that despite you know my accomplishments, that God still had more for me. For a while I had lost my identity in my role as a mom, as a wife, and as somebody else is employee. So once I went on the personal journey I was like, hey, you know I can do more than take care of kids. I do that well, right, but I know that I'm called to serve, I know that I'm called to do more. That's what really got me on that on that journey. And then when COVID hit, it's just like, why not take a chance, you know? Why not see? I gotta degree; if all else fails I can go get another job, but I want to pursue my purpose and just go after the more, that I know is out there for me. [00:012:49] I just started looking at God. Like I love you. I trust you. I feel like I'm called to do this for you. So I'ma put it on you. Now I'm gonna take this leap, I'ma try it and then you just you gotta lead me. But I believe when we step out on faith and we try God this is how we put his faithfulness on display. You know this is how we demonstrate our faith in our works. We know faith without works is dead right? And so I was just like, well God got his own reputation to protect; like he good at it. So that was the connection. It was a process, but those that's how I began to really connect from my start to where I am right now. [00:017:55] There's so many things that you feel like, “if I don't do this, it just don't get done.” We have to just accept the fact that everything isn't going to get done, but focus on the very important things because there's always going to be stuff to do. There's always going to be, you know, responsibilities for us to feel, and there's always going to be things to pull us away from our purpose and to pull us away from our calling. So you really have to relinquish control and become unapologetic. You have to really just be relentless in your pursuit if this is something you want; if this is something you know you've been called to do. I mean some stuff just gotta go!

It would do that because, many people or held back by their beliefs about money. Their held back by some experience that they had. Then also, there is a true connection between your money and your mental health. [00:05:00] When I would talk to my colleagues about, you know their influx of cliental, request or referrals, a lot of those were referrals not only dealt with the obvious things around Covid, such as, you know, illness and possibly grief and death. But it also dealt with the grief and loss that came with losing jobs, losing income, losing the ability to work due to the illness. So people can't really separate their money from their mind; it really consumes them. [00:33:00] Now you have to analyze, “Do I have my money working in the best places?” The banks are not the place to live out your dreams. They're stealing our dreams. Only because they're not gonna offer you the interest rate that's going to grow your money so that you can accomplish those dreams.

A lot of people get stuck in the past. A lot of people want to ignore and forget the past. But it's very important to know it and not get stuck there but use it to help you grow in your purpose. [00:08:22] Understanding that whatever negative thing has happened to you, it doesn't define you. It is not the whole summation of you. It doesn't even give a predictor of all the greatness that you can do in the future. It has got nothing to do with all of who you are created to be. I had to come to a point where I said you know what? Yes, these things have happen to me, but they were lessons in them. And when I looked at what I believe I've been called to do and that is to work with African women and create safe spaces, I believe that the experiences that happen to me make me open more empathetic to the women that I work with. So yes, it happened to me, but it happened for a reason. It happens so that I am able to relate more to the the women that I work with. it's not it wasn't great but i feel like you have to come to a place where you you accept and just let it go let it be what it is and let it be in the past but don't keep carrying that luggage. [00:10:02] The thing that stood out the most is that you were like, Okay enough is enough. I feel like a lot of what you were describing are definitely emotions and feelings based on trauma. But that's how multi-passionate people kind of feel in general. We feel the shame, we feel out of place, we feel like we don't know where we belong. And hopefully, fingers, eyes, and toes crossed, we get to a place where we're sick and tired of being sick and tired; and we realize that all the things that happened “to us” happened for us; to equip us to be able to do that thing called purpose. A lot of times people say there's purpose in pain and I'm always like God, yeah I know you have a sense of humor that I don't think it's to funny, but did I really have to learn the lesson that way? Like these are the conversations we have, right? But then hindsight really is 20/20 where I'm like, okay I see what you did there. I still don't think I should have had to go down that path, but I see what you did there. [00:12:03] And then the last thing was acceptance, because you know, for me the ABC's to Clarity; Accept, Believe, and Connect. Acceptance is a really big and hard pill to swallow. It takes a lot of time. But it's so freeing! In the end when you really truly accept, okay it happened, leave it over there, acknowledge it, learn something from it, and take it with you so that you're not triggered every time that thing may come up, or that person may come around. It allows you to move on to the next phase of believing that you can do something greater. [00:12:59] The things that really helped me was, I heard, the worst thing that you could do to yourself is lie to yourself. Because a lot of times when something happens, we try to ignore it or pretend it didn't happen and we're just pushing it in the back of our mind. You know, pushing and pushing and things just keep piling up and we're just pretending it's not there. It's like sweeping dirt under rug, right? And you know, if you just keep doing that for years and years and years, it's a mound now. It's a mountain. Hello, it's still there. So had you have to get to a point where you just say, “You know what. Yes, it happened. Am I happy that it happened? No? But then what can I do better? What can I learn?” [00:14:57] The clarity is in the doing. You kind of have to do to figure it out. There's kind of no way around it really. Taking a misstep sometimes and really like you said, giving yourself grace and maybe even apologizing to yourself. We all know the best apologies are changed behavior. So apologize to yourself. Forgive yourself, don't do it again, if it all possible, learn from it, course correct and go the other way.

Who do you say you are? What do you believe about yourself? If you don't feel that you are necessary, if you don't feel that you are important, if you don't feel that you have a purpose, you are going to continue to chase things and chase money, right? Or chase validation and you swiping a credit card, because you're going on trips to fill a void. [00:15:42] Because if I don't heal my wounds, my wounds are gonna spill over onto the people that God is called to my voice. I heard Pastor Chandler Bailey say, he said, God wants you to be a whole-ionaire before he wants you to be a millionaire. And it coincides with what I believe, if you are not whole and free from your internal wounds it's going to affect and infect every area of your life including your finances. [00:25:16] The Bible says that he gives you the power to generate wealth. He gives us all gifts. Look at your hands. Everything you need is inside your hand. Stop looking for a hand out.

So I'm trying to really do the preventative work from dropping those balls to help us be able to flow and flourish and show up in excellence no matter what room we're in. [00:8:44] So often, not only are we carrying on those past traditions and not asking any questions we're not even open to figuring out how to do things in a different way and everything that got you to the point that you're in, in your life today, is not gonna take you to where it is that you're trying to go. That's the whole point of evolution, right? Like in your relationships, in your faith, in your finances, in your work. Like you get promoted and then you can't do what you did six months ago to get promoted to a new level. [00:13:43] It's not that people don't have capacity. What are you filling it up with? What are you spending your time on? Who are you spending your time with? Like are you spending five hours on candy crush?

But it's like, but if it is a duck, it might be an unusual one, if it is a duck then don't create a new name for it, just call it a duck girl. [00:5:58] The truth is that it's something that I've always wanted. It's something I secretly, quietly, it's something I want it to be worthy of. And when it's difficult for you to accept, you know, the call on your life, when it's difficult for you to accept your purpose and your place it's really an indicator of like a lack of self-confidence. Sometimes it's a lack of, like you don't feel worthy to say this thing, like you are somehow not enough to say that this is what you do; even though it's what you've been doing, it's what you want to do anyway. [00:9:09] There are things that didn't exist until they exist. So be a pioneer, get too big for your britches; like it's fine. [00:11:21] It doesn't take courage to do what you know how to do. It takes courage to do the things that scare you. It takes courage to do things while you are afraid. It takes courage to lead while you're learning.
This week's guest is Natalie Dean, the Founder and Executive Director of Whine and Cheese. Natalie Dean is a communications professional and entrepreneur. For more than 15 years, she has built a successful public relations and communications career with extensive expertise working with domestic and global entities. In February 2011, Natalie founded Whine & Cheese, Inc. to provide refuge and resources for professional women seeking community. For the last 10 years Whine and Cheese has been bonding & building community; creating space for Black women to whine about stress and cheese (smile) about blessings. The organization is a thriving network, having launched more than 30 branches, or small groups of women, across the country. Through curated events, speaking engagements and intentional community building, Natalie upholds the mission of Whine & Cheese, which is to create an environment that inspires the development, support, and healing of Black women. I love this organization for many reasons, but mainly because it connects women, not just in their zip and area code, to their tribe of like-hearted and like-minded women. I'm so excited to chat with Natalie! You all are really truly in for a treat. [00:16:30] Asking for help does not mean you are incapable or unqualified. It's actually a sign of strength and self-awareness. [00:18:58] When you're in community and the whole thing about playing on each other strengths and or weaknesses, is that you also then give someone else an opportunity to function in their purpose. You are allowing them room to one, bless you and two, to do what they are put on earth to do. [00:18:58] Failing does not always mean you're a failure. It never means you're a failure! Failing either means, to your point as you mentioned before, there's either more to learn before you reach that next level or in some way you need to course correct; but it doesn't mean that you are a failure or that your idea won't work.
This week's guest is Miss Big Business herself - Brittany Sherell! I'm so super excited to have her and you guys are really truly in for a treat. In today's episode, we cover: Believing like a boss is not about not making mistakes Your voice has value - your simple is their significant Start with what you have and where you are Look at the big picture, make decisions as a big business Purpose does not equate poverty; you're supposed to prosper in purpose Allow yourself to fall into it Relevant links: Connect with Brittany on Instagram Visit https://brittanysherell.com for more info BBOLD Membership Take a look at Manlike Candles Brittany's Squad: Courage Molina, Patrice Washington, Ashley Kirkwood Take a look at Prosper In Purpose Merch Visit JateyaJones.com for more info Take a look at "Who gone check you boo" merch Connect with Jateya Instagram Connect with Jateya on Facebook: Connect with Jateya on LinkedIn Business on A Budget Course Notable Quotes: [00:09:20] Understanding that there is no work around to avoid mistakes and that's actually going to be a huge piece of your secret sauce, is being willing to share those moments and allow the people you're called to serve to journey with you. [00:12:24] It doesn't matter how mundane you may think your life is, your simple is someone else's significant. And so, when you honor that, you will begin to really realize the magnitude of your voice and how much power it carries and how much transformation you can create throughout the world [00:15:58] Give yourself grace to grow, start where you are, start with what you have and start with who you have. Because the fact that you carry the vision already communicates that you have what you need.

Her mantra is: put your mask on first, which stands as a reminder that making yourself a priority, is the ultimate act of self-love. She is on a mission of creating a Wellness Revolution Movement for women of color to heal and live a life they truly desire. In today's episode, we cover: The importance of believing you are worthy of abundance Wellness is all about what's right for you Forget the “Hustle Hard” mode Self care is at war and living the life you want is revolutionary Love is not sacrifice; self first is not selfish Relevant links: Hella Well with Danielle on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok The Rogue Experience on Instagram and Facebook Hella Well With Danielle Podcast The Wellness Revolution Facebook Group Women of Color Travel Therapy Facebook Group @timiljones and @noellethevibe Visit JateyaJones.com for more info Connect with Jateya Instagram Connect with Jateya on Facebook: Connect with Jateya on LinkedIn Notable Quotes: [00:07:31] Wellness is like a custom-made pair of jeans and I want people to know that it's supposed to be what's right for you and not what everyone else is doing and that it's all about your own journey. It's like, I may be a little bit further ahead, but I want to help shine my light so you can see your light. [00:21:47] I had to unlearn that as an entrepreneur I had to be in this “hustle hard” mode, but also on top of that, that I had to buy into the strong black woman persona. And that was a hard one to learn for me. [00:28:37] Our self care is at war and living the life that you truly desire is revolutionary. And what do I mean by saying that it's revolutionary is that we're taught to show our love we need to sacrifice. We're taught that that's how we validate who we are. To validate that I'm a good person, I need to show that I can sacrifice better than anyone else. And what makes self-care and self-love revolutionary is that you're breaking up with that norm, with the society that tells us what we should be doing and I want them to know that that is the key to your success, but it's not always going to be easy.
Do you have feelings of confusion, all over the place, overwhelm, anxiety, wanting to be further along in the journey, thinking that you should know more, placing pressure on yourself to do it as others expect of you and or the stress to show up as X,Y, and Z. God handpicked and cherry picked you to do what you do, and nobody else can do what you do like you do. I know it's hard to believe, I know it's even hard to digest sometimes because you probably have heard for years that the thing that is so, so closely connected to your purpose, is your secret sauce, is the same thing that people told you was bad or something you should change about yourself. [00:08:11] And I'm willing to bet, and I'm risk averse. I don't even like buying a $1 lottery ticket because I don't want to lose my dollar, but I'm willing to bet that thing is somewhere closely related to your true calling and your true purpose. The reason you've been put here on Earth. That thing is gonna be, what has your target population craving you like people crave Chick-fil-A on a Sunday
In 2020, I made the pivot from The Natural Networker to Jateya Jones Consulting. Therefore, I figured I should re-introduce myself. I made the switch, because I realized the clearer my clients were, the better they were at networking. So after 4 years of bringing you Mocha Mondays, I decided to shift and expand the content I provide from just networking to so much more!
