Send us a Text Message.Remember the first time you heard "Can't Buy Me Love"? We kick off our latest episode of "Music In My Shoes" by celebrating the incredible reach of our podcast, now enjoyed in 35 countries and over 400 cities. We reminisce about the Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night," comparing its UK and US versions, and we share a quirky personal story about displaying the album cover in the bathroom. We also take a nostalgic look at the 1987 film "Can't Buy Me Love," starring Patrick Dempsey and Amanda Peterson, and its unique use of the iconic Beatles' track. But that's just the beginning. We explore an amusing high school transformation movie, with the Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love" taking center stage, and we delve into the significance of other Beatles classics like "And I Love Her" and "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You." The episode takes a fun twist as we talk about George Strait breaking a concert attendance record and share a hilarious anecdote involving Flavor Flav and Martha Stewart at a Dead & Company show. We honor the late Bill Walton, the world's tallest deadhead, and his extraordinary connection to the Grateful Dead.As we wrap up the episode, we journey through music history, starting with a review of two recent Rolling Stones that I went to see. Yes Mick, Keith, and Ron can still rock it! We discuss Roger Daltrey's thoughts on the predictability of modern concerts and our own habits of checking setlists. We groove to Donna Summer's timeless hits, including "Hot Stuff" and "I Feel Love," and celebrate her influence in the late '70s and early '80s. Then, we dive into Hüsker Dü's unique sound, focusing on drummer Grant Hart and standout tracks from "Zen Arcade." To conclude, I encourage everyone to keep the music playing. Tune in for a trip down memory lane and some unforgettable musical moments! Please Like and Follow our Facebook page Music In My Shoes. You can contact us at musicinmyshoes@gmail.com.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Lord F over Zoom video! Lord F recently released his single 'Perfect Imperfection' on February 11th off of his upcoming album. With a strong personality and visuals to follow, LA-based singer Lord F, makes lyrical ambient electronic dance-pop. Born in Sao Paulo-Brazil, in 1993, Lord moved to Los Angeles to make it big on the music scene. Lord F began singing and performing at a young age at school musicals. His first originals came in 2015 with the self-titled EP, including 4 songs produced by the Grammy-award winning producer Rick Bonadio, the hottest name on the pop scene in South America. The single “Hey Hey Hey"; "Dance With You"; "Like a Glove" and one song in Portuguese "Ainda é Pouco", reached the top charts on radio play over many stations in Brazil and are still growing on charts to this day. Later on, Lord F made his way into Television as a TV Host for the music channel MIX TV, in Brazil, with a reality show setting, commenting on music videos airing on the show; but that never stopped him from following his dreams of making it on the music scene. Over the course of a year, after they finished filming the second season of the show, with his raised following, Lord took on the invitation to record with the five times Grammy-award winning – LA based producer ‘Lampadinha’. So during the following 6 months he wrote over sixty songs and picked out the best ten for his very first album - "Once Upon A Song"; paving his way to the pop-market in the U.S. The first single from "Once Upon A Song", called "My All", came out by late 2017, getting the attention from Sony Music, signing the release of the entire upcoming album. Though he is now a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer, the British-born Roger Cook began his career in the UK, first making a splash on the US charts with The Fortunes’ Top 10 hit recording of “You’ve Got Your Troubles.” Additional US singles in that era included the Top 10 hits “Green Grass” by Gary Lewis & The Playboys, “I Was Kaiser Bill’s Batman,” by Whistling Jack Smith, and “Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again” by The Fortunes. In 1972 Cook scored with two different versions of “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing,” an international hit that began as a groundbreaking commercial jingle for Coca-Cola before becoming a successful single for The Hillside Singers and then The New Seekers. Later that year he topped the charts with The Hollies’ “Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress).” He and longtime songwriting partner Roger Greenaway were named British Songwriters of the Year two years in a row for 1971 and 1972 at the Ivor Novello awards in the the UK. In the mid-1970s, Cook moved to Nashville, where he found success with a string of #1 hits, including BMI Country Song of the Year “Talking in Your Sleep” for Crystal Gayle, “I Believe in You” for Don Williams, and “Love is on a Roll,” a song co-written with John Prine that became another #1 for Williams. Additional chart-topping hits include ASCAP Country Song of the Year “One Night at a Time” and “I Just Want to Dance With You,” both #1 singles for George Strait. Roger’s songs have been recorded by The Drifters, Frankie Valli, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, John Prine, Sonny & Cher, Chet Atkins, Nancy Wilson, Bette Midler, Petula Clark, Brenda Lee, Clint Black, Amy Grant, Reba McEntire, and others. He is a Grammy nominee, ACM nominee, three-time CMA Song of the Year nominee, and the only British inductee into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Additionally, he and Roger Greenaway were inducted into the national Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009.
