Playlist;THE LOONS “Second hand dream” (Memories have faces, 2024)THE LOONS “Daffodils or despair” (Memories have faces, 2024)THE LOONS “When she sleeps” (Memories have faces, 2024)WESLEY FULLER “Back to square one” (All fuller no filler, 2024)SHANNON AND THE CLAMS “Dali’s clock” (The moon is in the wrong place, 2024)DAVE McLEAN and JJ MACHUCA “Faintly blowing” (single 2024)TONY TRUANT et LES SOLUTIONS DU SUD PROFOND “J'aime traîner dehors la nuit” (ST, 2024)THE DAHLMANNS “Blue letter” (Lucky EP, 2024)AIRPORT 77’S “Too tight” (JEM Records celebrates Jagger and Richards, 2024)THE PEAWEES “Baby I’m in the mood for you” (single 2024)Versión y Original; ODETTA “Baby I’m in the mood for you” (1965)Versión y Original; BOB DYLAN “Baby I’m in the mood for you” (1962)DREAM PONY “Synthetic love” (Suspicion today, 2024)KELLEY STOLTZ “About time” (adelanto del álbum “La Fleur”)Escuchar audio

A „Monarchy Madness II.” március 17-én Bécsben, március 18-án pedig a szlovákiai Trencsénben folytatódik. A miniturné április közepén ér véget Csehországban, amelynek során a The Trousers és a Degradace Prágában, továbbá Jindrichuv Hradecben játszik helyi erőkkel megtámogatva. A zenekar 2006-ban alakult. Zenéjük a klasszikus, nyers rock and roll & a modernebb, dalközpontú garázsrock sajátos keveréke. A 2008-as első nagylemez, a PLANETARY PROCESS (Mamazone Records) első single-je, a BLOOD FOR YOU három hétig vezette az MR2 lejátszási listáját, megjelent Franciaországban és az USA-ban is. A második album, a már keményebb SOUL MACHINE (Twelvetone Records) 2011-ben Fonogram díjra lett jelölve a legjobb hazai hard rock/HM lemez kategóriájában, akárcsak a harmadik, a FREAKBEAT (2013, EMI Music Services). Ez utóbbin vendégszerepelt egyik legnagyobb példaképük, a skandináv garázsrock-legenda Nicke Andersson (The Hellacopters, Imperial State Electric). A zenekar negyedik lemeze, a MOTHER OF ILLUSION (Soulmachine Records) 2015 májusban jelent meg. 2019-ben a The Trousers Magyarországon a Junkies előzenekaraként játszott több nagyvárosban, amit immár rendszeressé váló közép-európai (Csehország, Szlovákia, Ausztria, Németország) turné követ. A turné számos állomásán a szlovák punk-legenda, a Konflikt vendégeként szerepeltek. és fesztiválok (Sziget, Volt, Hegyalja, SZÍN, Fezen, Művészetek Völgye) mellett rendszeresen játszik európai országokban is, megjárták Dániát, Belgiumot, Németországot, Ausztriát, Csehországot, Szlovákiát, Romániát, Szerbiát is. Felléptek a Black Stone Cherry (USA), a Peter Hook & The Light (UK), az MC5 (USA), The Blue Van (DK), a Peter Pan Speedrock (NL), a Honky (USA), az Atomic Bitchwax (USA), a Barb Wire Dolls (GR) és a Konflikt (SK) előtt. Itthon játszottak többek közt a Tankcsapdával, a Junkies-zal, a Supernemmel, a Kispál és a Borzzal, a Kiscsillaggal, az Anna & The Barbies-zal. #zenekar #zene #énekes Diszkográfia: Dive Insane (EP, 2007, MamaZone) Planetary Process (LP, 2008, MamaZone) Soul Machine (LP, 2010, EMI Music Services/Twelvetones Records) – Fonogram-jelölés Sister Sludge (EP, 2012, EMI Music Services) Freakbeat (LP, 2013, EMI Music Services) – Fonogram-jelölés Mother of Illusion (LP, 2015, Soulmachine Records) Dancer From the Dance (EP, 2018, Music Fashion Records) Invisible Darkness (LP, 2018, Music Fashion Records) A zenekar jelenlegi felállása: Kőváry Zoltán (ének, gitár), Locke Péter (gitár), Lázár András (basszus), Gulyás “Samu” Antal (dob) https://www.facebook.com/thetrousers https://thetrousersband.com/ Koncert fotók: https://www.facebook.com/PhotographyNorbert --------

The new episode aims to sate Pastronauts with 4 versions of the garage gem, “Hungry.” The main course is the 1966 original from Paul Revere & the Raiders. This one has FUZZ, pulsing organ, and some terrific cha cha tambo along with a lusty vocal performance from the great Mark Lindsay. That same year, Canadian/British combo The 5AM Event altered the ingredients somewhat for more Freakbeat-influenced fodder. Since Lindsay's “Hungry” was so horny, these guys take that literally and add … a trumpet? An interesting side dish comes in the form of Teddy and Darrel's version. Lovers of Incredibly Strange Music will love this, though it may be an acquired taste for others. For dessert, we go all the way to 1979 for Todd Tamanend-Clark's take. He claims to have “altered the lyrics to be more assertively sexual,” but we think you don't need to improve on the Raiders original recipe. Nonetheless, he adds some funky Hendrix flavour to make his versh extra tasty. Burp!

Jukebox, bunte Klamotten, Biker, Discokugel. 1. The Smoke - My Friend Jack 2. The Who - I Can See For Miles 3. The Pretty Things - Come See Me 4. The Beatles - Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite 5. The Creation - Making Time 6. Fleur de Lys - Mud In Your Eye 7. The Factory - Try A Little Sunshine 8. Traffic - Hole In My Shoe 9. This week we introduce you to the debut album from a 24 year-old lad from Wales. Thomas John Woodward - today Sir Thomas John Woodward - is better known as Tom Jones. He got his start as the front man for a beat group called Tommy Scott and the Senators, but they really didn't go anywhere beyond South Wales. Gordo Mills became his manager, took him to London, and renamed him Tom Jones after the Academy Award winning film of the same name released in 1963.Jones' first hit would be the one for which he is always remembered. "It's Not Unusual" went to number 1 in the UK within a month of its release, and it went to number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 when released in America. Mills and Les Reed worked quickely with Jones to get an album out to take advantage of the quick success, and the result is this album - Along Came Jones. Jones would have only moderate success with the rest of the songs on the album, but would see more fame when he recorded songs from movies, including "What's New Pussycat," by Burt Bacharach, and the theme song to the James Bond film "Thunderball."Tom Jones is synonymous with Las Vegas, and he spend a good bit of time there almost from the beginning. His first stint was at the Flamingo in 1967. He made a lot of money in club performances in Vegas rather than in extensive recording. After moderate success with his first few albums, Mills directed Jones more in the direction of the crooner we know today. We hope you enjoy this early foray into this iconic singer. I've Got A HeartThis is the opening track on the album, and a very positive song. The boy is singing about having "a heart that really needs somebody, " and "a mind to keep her, to hold her tight, oh yeah, yeah, yeah." Not the most sophisticated lyrics you will encounter, but it is early in the rock era after all..Whatcha Gonna DoThe album was a mix of cover songs and songs written for Jones, and this is one of the covers. Originally written by American blues and rock singer Chuck Willis, it cautions against running around on your girl. The RoseGordon Mills wrote this song for Jones. It is basically the knights errand to win his love by finding the rose of love. "For my true love I yearn, but I'll never, ever return till I find where that red lady grows."It's Not UnusualThis is where it all started for Tom Jones. Gordon Mills and Les Reed wrote this song which was released in February 1965, and it entered the charts the week it was released. It was number 1 on the UK charts a month later, and would define Tom Jones' career. ENTERTAINMENT TRACK:What's New Pussycat? by Burt Bacharach (from the motion picture What's New Pussycat?)Woody Allen's first screenplay would become this comedy film. Peter Sellers and Peter O'Toole starred in this movie. Tom Jones would achieve success from singing this song for the soundtrack as well. STAFF PICKS:I'll Keep Holding On by The MarvelettesRob starts off our staff picks with this female Motown act. They were the first successful Motown act after The Miracles. This song was written by Mickey Stevenson and Ivy Jo Hunter, and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100. The original members were Gladys Horton, Katherine Anderson, Georgeanna Tillman, Juanita Cowart Motley, and Wanda Young. Young is on lead for this one.Help Me Rhonda by The Beach BoysBrian brings us a well known surfing standard and rebound song. This song has guitarist Al Jardine on lead vocals, and Glen Campbell was playing lead guitar as a session musician. Darryl Dragon (aka The Captain from Captain & Tennille ) is also playing on this track. Take a Heart by The SorrowsWayne's staff pick is the title track off the debut album from “Freakbeat” band The Sorrows. One of the most aggressive R&B bands of their time, The Sorrows were known for their fast guitar solos and thudding drums. They never achieved much success, perhaps because their style of music was just ahead of its time. The song itself cautions against breaking hearts and turnabout.Feeling Good by Nina SimoneBruce's staff pick is a song from Broadway recorded by Nina Simone in 1965. It was not released as a single at the time, but has seen a resurgence recently in period pieces and commercials. INSTRUMENTAL TRACK:No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach's In) by the T-BonesThis instrumental drew its inspiration from an Alka-Seltzer commercial and was recorded by Dave Pell and members of The Wrecking Crew.
Episode 019: To Be Nineteen Again The Who - Our Love Was (UK 1967) One of the most famous exports from the UK who are more known for their bombastic 70's anthems, Pete Towsend and co spearheaded the mod sound and broadcast it to the world with their debut anthem "My Generation". Their lone psychedelic effort "Sell Out" yielded gems such as this one, a tale of a love once stale that is now revived and soaring. The Gibsons - City Life (Australia 1967) A snooty mod pop big city anthem with an inexplicable feline inspired middle eight by an little known outfit from Australia that relocated to the UK. They released a handful of singles during their brief two year career. The Tony Hendrik 5 - Said My Say (Germany 1968) Quintessential freakbeat by this obscure band from Cologne, Germany that features a prolific singer-songwriter and producer at the helm. They released one album and many singles during their career, all of which are worth investigating. The Creation - Midway Down (UK 1968) The UK's finest mod art combo and an unsung influence on many a guitar hero, this 1968 single - a cover of an even more obscure US psych act John Wonderling - catches the band winding down before their eventual demise. This vivid single was the closest the band would get to psychedelia and is one of the last they'd record and release. The Loot - Baby Come Closer (UK 1967) The sound and feel of this song captures the mood of the mod love song like no other. A stomping beat and catchy riff lead way to a too cool to care vocal that still oozes a desire for his love's affection. The band would release stellar examples of the genre during their brief two year career.Spooky Tooth - Do Right People (UK 1968) A non-album b-side that shows just how serious this band's chops were, the Spooky's definitely took a page from Traffic's sound and turned it up a notch on this one. One part bass and organ driven soul stomper and one part proto-prog mind melter, this is a perfect example of a band showing off it's roots while showing us a vision of the future.State of Micky and Tommy - With Love From 1 to 5 (UK 1967) A truly classic mod pop anthem by this clever duo and a song that deserved to be a hit worldwide. This unsung duo only released two singles in their time, but both of such high quality that they are known as staples of the era and are often compiled.Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera - Flames (UK 1967) Freakbeat in the truest sense in that this is essentially a turned up and blown out version of a Motown riff. The classic eighth note bass notes that kick it off is an instant nod to their influences before launching the sound into the stratosphere. The band's two albums are essential listening. The Twilights - Cathy Come Home (Australia 1967) One of the most prolific and successful bands from down under, this proto-powerpop number displays the wonderful songwriting and harmonies of this tight unit Somebody's Image - Hide and Seek (Australia 1968) Another obscure Australian band that only released three singles during their time - of which this pop-sike beauty is their last - and featured a young Russell Morris who would go on to solo fame. The Consortium - The Day the Train Never Came (UK 1969) A shortened version of UK pop group The West Coast Consortium, this band released a handful of singles through the late 60's and early 70's that featured a pristine harmony pop sound as evidenced here. The half time middle break is truly a stand out moment in an already magical genre. The Cedars - For Your Information (Lebanon 1968) Lebanon's prime freakbeat export that combined their native sound with the burgeoning UK freakbeat/pop-sike sound to great effect.

Radio ditto presents Campfire, where we talk to inspiring folk from the worlds of tech, art and culture. In this episode, we're joined by prolific London-based record producer, songwriter, sound engineer, musician, DJ and author Richard Norris. He is best known as a member of electronic dance band The Grid. Richard has also worked as a producer and engineer since the 80s with artists such as Bryan Ferry, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Marc Almond, Joe Strummer and Pet Shop Boys.He began making music as a teenage member of St. Albans punk band Innocent Vicars recording two singles in 1980 - ‘Antimatter‘ and ‘Funky Town‘ for the independent No Brain Records. He started working in the music industry as the label manager for the British psychedelic record label, Bam Caruso, before becoming a writer for NME in 1987. Since then Richard has been in the UK TOP 3 charts, most notably in with the single ‘Swamp Thing’ when he was a member of The Grid, and most recently performing at the 26th Anniversary of BBC Meltdown festival with Nile Rodgers, the most long-running artist-curated festival in the world. Richard is also working on a new abstract and ambient album Abstractions.During this fascinating talk we journey through Richards rise in music from electronic bedroom beats to UK TOP 3 singles. We find out why Joy Division were creatures from another planet and how a mix of music, LSD and fashion created the new term ‘Freakbeat’ embodying the mod, pop-psych sound. We talk about the rumours of Richard’s old manager based on an eccentric Spinal Tap character. We also discuss how music can be an escape and a safe haven, and the necessity to create a safe space in dubious surroundings, which is what led Richard onto his ambient adventure. At the end of the podcast, Richard gives his recommendations on what to listen to, what to read and what to watch.Visit ditto.tv/events to check out Richard's Campfire presents Big Boost Mondays event from October 7th at our Clerkenwell studios.

Welcome to Part 2 of this bumper end of year episode! Over the two parts, Steve from Retro Man Blog, Adam from The Jetsonics and Rock Photographer Paul Slattery dig up some Psych, Garage Rock, Power Pop and Punk obscurities, favourites and other weird stuff. There’s an emphasis on French bands and artists, old and new, such as Marie Modiano, Stinky Toys, Little Bob Story, Metal Urbain, Les Kitschenettes and er…Julie Delpy…We uncover a one-off 1977 Punk rarity from The Rings and there’s Freakbeat from Fleur de Lys and Sharon Tandy. How about some overlooked Power Pop from The Incredible Kidda Band and The Modernettes or way-out Sixties Psych from The Outcasts, Simon Dupree, The Haunted and The Tidal Wave. There’s a fine piece of contemporary Punk Rock from Cyanide Pills, a Garage Rock floor-shaker from The Woggles and some smooth Blues from the honey-voiced Slim Harpo. Then we pay tribute to our highlight of 2013, Graham Day & The Forefathers at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club with tracks from The Solarflares, The Aardvarks and The Higher State. All this plus chat about The Jetsonics first venture outside the M25, nods to some of the best gigs of the year, Retro Man Blog’s trip to Paris, and the usual waffle and rambling… à bientôt!
