What if we told you that one of the most basic ingredients in your kitchen, something you probably use every day, could be banned under today's food safety regulations? That's right – black pepper, a staple in nearly every household, might not even make it to store shelves if it were discovered today. But why? In this episode, we dive into the surprising world of food safety regulations and how the current system could reject familiar ingredients like black pepper, melatonin, and even curcumin. We'll uncover why historical timing, not science, is often the deciding factor when it comes to what makes it into our food supply. Tune in as we explore the implications of these outdated rules and what it means for the future of food innovation.

Fellowship in Essential Oils

Pink pepper is a totally unrelated plant to the better known black pepper. This quick-growing native, at home in regions of South America, reaches about 15 metres tall, and the upper branches are unique because they tend to droop. Small white flowers gather at the ends of the branches and grow fruit with woody seeds. Pink Pepper essential oil is steam-distilled from these fruits. She still has a spicy aroma like Black Pepper, but also possesses floral and fruity notes. ABOUT ADAM BARRALET Adam Barralet has been observing and living in tune with nature since childhood. A research study examining the effects of turmeric on muscle growth in horses is also highlighted. The second case study addresses a 15-year-old horse's slow warm-up process, potentially due to arthritis or muscle issues. These panini are so simple to prepare and so delicious, that they should become a summer staple when tomato season is in swing. Use only fresh mozzarella and luscious, juicy tomatoes. If you can't find focaccia, try country bread-just toast the slices in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. (If the slices are too big, cut the 6 slices in half before toasting. These are the best bite sizes.) When the ingredients here are at their peak, all in top form, these are true works of art.

These and the smoked salmon and chive variations are also excellent with omelets or frittatas, making them ideal choices for brunch or grown-up lunches. If you are looking for a savory scone that is more family-friendly, try the bacon variation that follows this recipe. We're keen on those topped with a rough-cut marmalade, like orange or ginger. A drizzle of maple syrup on a still-warm split bacon scone is very good, too.

Losät - Luegät und stühnät. 5 Years and one Month. Swiss Time is running fast. Also noch so sagen - Altweiber Sommer? In this episode, Meg and Heather discuss the many benefits and uses of Black Pepper Essential Oil. This oil is versatile, and can be used all three ways. Fellowship in Essential Oils

Black Pepper, an ancient spice originating from southern India, holds multifaceted significance. Beyond its culinary and medicinal uses, it symbolises a journey into the depths of self-discovery, challenging societal norms and revealing authenticity. Like its counterparts in the realm of black crystals, Black Pepper absorbs negative energies and protects against harm, while also encouraging personal accountability and empowerment. Through its essence, individuals are guided to unearth hidden aspects of themselves, release destructive patterns, and realise their inherent strength and self-sufficiency. One of my favorite offerings at Authentic Wellness is Food and Environmental Sensitivity / Intolerance testing. Most often people request this test because they are experiencing painful and uncomfortable digestive issues, belching, bloating, constipation, headaches, breathing issues, rashes and skin irritations….they want answers. They want to know if it's something they are putting in their body that is causing these uncomfortable symptoms. If they know what it is-they can take it out and feel better.  The follow-up meetings are always incredibly interesting. Often, people are surprised with the items listed that are not as straightforward as Eggs, Almonds, Black Pepper or Strawberries. The things that catch folks off guard are the items on their list that are genetically modified in some way, or the preservatives and additives in the food and drinks they consume, the coloring dyes, the chemicals that have these crazy long names, the “substitute foods - all those sugar substitutes or alternatives - or the chemicals that are part of their skin care, home cleaning products or make up…. All of the things that are added to products to make them more appealing - changing the consistency, or color, or taste or smell…..those are the things that are the things that surprise people.  Usually the response is- I don't even know how to say that word let alone know what it is???? How do I know it's in my food or in the products I am using…. Timely, because my friend Heather asked me the other day: “Missy? What are GMOs and should I be eating them? What's the deal with the coloring and dyes? What the heck is in the food I'm eating???”  Lets chat about that today!  Support the Show.Sign up for the Authentic Wellness newsletter for more great information! Black pepper contains a compound called piperine, which has been studied for its potential synergistic effects with curcumin. Piperine has been found to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin, meaning it helps increase its absorption and utilization by the body. This enhanced bioavailability may potentiate the effects of curcumin on cancer cells. It's important to note that while preclinical studies and some clinical trials have shown promising results, the efficacy of curcumin and black pepper in treating cancer is still under investigation. More research is needed to determine the optimal dosage, formulation, and potential side effects. Therefore, it is essential to consult with a healthcare professional before using these compounds as a sole treatment for cancer. But then they form a beautiful friendship, in spaaaaace!! And it turns out they can be friends and Reina has only been acting out of jealousy! Then, in episode 42 we find out Aguri is adopted, and this is treated as a shocking twist. Also Makoto is an orphan, but that's treated as less of a shock. But once she tries the "phantom treat" that is birthday cake, and the day is saved. Delicious Party In episode 40 of Delicious Party, Black Pepper turns in his stone to his dad and is no longer a cook warrior. But then by the end of the episode, he transforms in front of Yui and saves the day! And makes Yui cry and annoys Amane. But then he gives her a rice ball and all is forgiven. Episode 41 doubles as both a Christmas episode (yay!) and a reveal of Fennel as Godatz (boo!). We're in the delicious end game now, Yui.

A live chaotic episode see in as we did it in person in Sam Doohler's bed post-wine. It's the penultimate episode of Drag Race UK season four - and perhaps ours for a while - and the queens are roasting, though not very well for the most part. Black Pepper, Pixie and Cheddar make for some of the most uncomfortable roasts the show has ever seen but luckily Danny Beard and Jonbers - surprisingly - make up for it. And also check out out interview with Fenton Bailey, creator of Drag Race - as he promotes his new book ScreenAge: How TV Shaped Our Reality, From Tammy Faye to RuPaul's Drag Race by Fenton Bailey is published by Ebury Press at £20 and is available in all good bookstores now; To order visit https://smarturl.it/ScreenAge. It's baaaaaack! In an episode dedicated to the late Chery Valentine, we celebrate the return of Drag Race UK, (quite the palette cleanser after Down Under…) and it's already off to a better start than season three of UK. Black Pepper snatches a win, Cheddar Gorgeous is instantly iconic, Dame Joanna Lumley makes an absolutely fabulous cameo, and we discuss terrorist attacks, ginger dicks, Sam's shitty guac and Ed's clammy blamanche (sp?) Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions:  Christina: Hi Dr. Cabral. What do you think about eating for your blood type? I've been reading the book “Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type” and find it particularly interesting. Any comments or thoughts on this?   Ryan: Hello, I have been wondering if you know anything about the approximate ratio of black pepper to turmeric is needed to get the benefits of the bioperine? I don't want to get too much into the micro here but also would like to know practically if a tiny grind from the shaker is enough or if larger amounts are needed? Thanks in advance.   Cindy: Dr Cabral, I listened to Episode 760 on killing viruses. It talks about the need to ramp up your immune system, however, I have an autoimmune thyroid,(Hashimotos) and was told to avoid things that ramp up my immune system, because the immune system has already gone rogue, and it could cause the body to attack itself even more. For instance, I read to avoid echinacea and Holy Basil. Can you clear this up because I certainly would like to support immune system without causing issues with my autoimmunity. I listen all the time, so thanks for your help on this issue. Cindy   Liz: Hi Dr. Cabral, Thank you for putting so much time and effort into your podcasts; it's clear that you have a drive and a need to help people help themselves! I've learned a lot over the past couple of years. My question is, what do you think of fucoxanthin supplements to aid in fat loss? I haven't been able to find a lot of information on it, but what I have seen seems promising. It's hard to find though, and I question the quality of the supplements I have been able to find. Is fucoxanthin legit? And if so how do I find a source I can trust? Thank you!   Bob: Hi Dr. Cabral. Love the podcast and your unbias approach to everything you cover. I know you have a lot of content on Intermittent Fasting so I apologize if my question has already been addressed, but I'm wondering what breaks a fast when doing Intermittent Fasting? I'll start my morning w/ some organic non-caffeinated herbal tea (typically some Roasted Dandelion Root or Rose Hips & Hibiscus by Traditional Medicinals, or Lemon Ginger plus Probiotics by Bigelow). Would that break my fast? Also curious about supplements. Would taking a supplement pill first thing in the morning or right before bed break a fast?   Crystal: Hi Dr. Cabral! I am 25 and have struggled with my weight my entire life. When I was in high school, I got very slim but then gained over 100 pounds between ages 19-20. I was then diagnosed at 20 with PCOS which has resulted in chronic dry eye syndrome and hypothyroidism. I went vegan shortly after I was diagnosed for ethical and health reasons. I was able to lose the majority of the weight, but in the past year have put a lot back on. Even with listening to your previous podcasts on PCOS, doing slow weighted workouts and steady cardio with balanced, high-protein meals, the weight does not want to shed. I'm at a loss for what to do and was wondering if you could recommend a certain diet/protocol? I want to mention that because I'm vegan and aiming to eat higher protein meals, I often use faux meats to meet my macro goals. I sway towards cleaner products, but many have PUFAs, which I know you say causes inflammation. Could this be a reason I'm not losing weight? Do I have to give these up to reach my goals? What are some better protein sources for vegans besides beans, tofu, and tempeh? Thank you so much! I so value your work and expertise, and am so grateful for your podcast and deep care for peoples' health! Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions!  - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/2241 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral   - - - Dr. Cabral's New Book, The Rain Barrel Effect https://amzn.to/2H0W7Ge - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: http://CabralSupportGroup.com - - -  Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Sleep & Hormones Test (Run your adrenal & hormone levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - > View all Functional Medicine lab tests (View all Functional Medicine lab tests you can do right at home for you and your family)
