Alexandra von Triessen, a shy yet gifted pianist, faces the pressure of cutthroat competition and her own insecurities at the prestigious International Ketterling Piano Competition. Raised by cold and distant parents, Alexandra found solace in music, channeling her deepest emotions into her art. At Ketterling, she crosses paths with Sebastian D'Antonio, a magnetic and ambitious pianist whose dazzling charisma masks the shadows of his fractured past. While Alexandra is drawn to Sebastian's charm, she is equally captivated—and haunted—by his estranged brother, Conrad, a mysterious and reclusive genius with an unearthly talent for composition. As Alexandra navigates the high-stakes world of Classical Music, she is forced to choose between playing it safe with her repertoire or taking a bold risk that could either make or break her career. Her growing connection to Sebastian complicates her focus, while Conrad's quiet intensity pulls her in another direction entirely. Just as Alexandra's career begins to ascend and Sebastian basks in newfound fame as a composer, a shocking discovery in the attic of the D'Antonio estate exposes a devastating deception—one that threatens to unravel not just their lives, but the very legacy they've built their careers upon.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

In this Outdoor Quickie, Jen and Dyana dive into the "Rule of Thirds," a concept shared by Olympian runner Alexi Pappas during an interview with Idea Generation. Pappas recalls advice from her coach during her training for the Rio Olympics. After a particularly tough day, when she felt like giving up, her coach reassured her, explaining that in the pursuit of any big goal, you're supposed to feel great 1/3 of the time, okay 1/3 of the time, and lousy 1/3 of the time. If your experience balances out that way, you're right where you need to be. Her coach emphasized that a bad day was just part of the journey. Have you ever considered that no matter how hard you try, one-third of people will always support you, another third will oppose you, and the remaining third can be swayed? In this episode, we dive deep into the "Law of Thirds" communication framework with John Carroll, Executive Director of City Leadership in Memphis. Drawing from his extensive experience, including lobbying for a governor, John shares his insights on how leaders can effectively navigate this challenging dynamic. He explains the importance of stewarding your truth, passion, and communication, focusing especially on winning over the middle third to drive successful outcomes. We explore the challenges of building consensus and navigating resistance within teams. One of the key strategies John discusses is categorizing people into 'for', 'against', and 'don't care' groups, and concentrating efforts on the ambivalent middle third to create momentum. We also cover the dangers of overconfidence and the need to win over the undecided without alienating supporters. Through relatable examples, such as friends left out of group texts due to green messages, we illustrate the necessity of sometimes letting go of those who won't join the journey. This conversation is a must-listen for leaders looking to harness the power of effective communication and strategic thinking.Lastly, we delve into the principles of servant leadership, focusing on how leaders can engage their teams through active listening and clear communication. John emphasizes the significance of making everyone feel heard and understood, even in disagreement, to foster a cohesive and motivated team. He also shares the impactful work of City Leadership in Memphis, offering valuable lessons on leading with purpose and compassion. Jenn and Katy continue their discussion of each chapter in Them Before Us Why We Need a Global Children's Rights Movement. Or is surrogacy an ethical violation that commodifies women and children?
HT1571 - You Can't Avoid the Rule of Thirds The primary alternative to the Rule of Thirds is bullseye composition where the subject is placed in the center of the frame. The minute you move that subject out of the center, you're probably going to end up on a third, somewhere. Maybe it would make us feel more comfortable if we referred to this as the "Rule of Off-centered Balance."
On this episode of The Beginner Photography Podcast, we hear the inspiring story of how Martin Moore left his job working on cars to pursue photography full-time, using the company he did a commercial shoot for as a reference. The guest for this episode is Martin Moore, a former mechanic turned full-time commercial product photographer. He discusses the challenges of leaving your day job and pursuing your passion in photography, as well as tips on how to do it. The podcast also explores the importance of personal branding and mastering gear before upgrading, as well as offering helpful photography hacks and techniques.Martin Moore is a talented photographer who believes in the power of skill, vision, and execution to create amazing photographs. He is a firm believer that the tool is only an accessory to your vision rather than the other way around. Martin thinks that too many people believe that buying fancy equipment will make them better at their craft, but it is their skill and creativity that do so. Martin's work is a testament to that, as he consistently produces stunning images that tell stories and capture moments in time. His passion for photography is evident in his work, and he continues to inspire others to find their own unique styles and visions. The Big Ideas with Timestamps[00:03:24] "From Master Honda Technician to Content Creation"[00:06:59] The Power of Personal Branding for Photographers[00:11:09] "From Hobby to Career: Wedding Photographer Success"[00:14:26] "The Elusive Pursuit of Creative Perfection"[00:38:33] "Photography and Video Careers: More than Skills"[00:43:28] "Stand out from the crowd with personal branding"[00:46:27] "From Zero Bookings to YouTube Vlogging Success"[00:49:43] "From a Client to a Career: My Journey with Stereo Headphone Company"[00:55:41] "Photography Hacks: Ditch the Expensive Gear"[00:57:47] "Breaking the Gospel: Abandoning the Rule of Thirds"Links and ResourcesFollow Martin on InstagramFollow Martin on YoutubeJoin The Beginner Photography Podcast CommunitySign up for your free CloudSpot account to deliver beautiful images galleries todayFree Lightroom Presets!
