CPA Huddle is a fun, fast-paced podcast that simplifies accounting and tax trends for everyone. This podcast is a time-efficient resource hub that will increase your money management IQ. Thanks to the loyal listeners of this podcast! This is the final CPA Huddle episode to feature Eric Pierre and Ignatius Jackson. They are appreciative of the opportunity to share their tax knowledge and passion, and they both look forward to separate ventures to continue to be thought leaders in this space. The purpose of this episode is to deliver an episode replete with robust, wide-open debate and discussion that supplies the listeners with objective information regarding the Employee Retention Credit's (“ERC”) permitted fee structures and the subjective opinions of professionals who apply the associated structures to clients seeking the ERC. Ignatius publicly expressed discontent with CPAs that employ certain fee structures associated with the ERC. In context, his comments run the risk of being associated with Eric Pierre and his practice. As Eric and Ignatius part ways, it is important to provide viewers with a broad base of knowledge on which to begin their ERC journey by exposing them to the views and opinions of professionals that operate in accordance with the highest ethical standards for the profession, while continuing to educate and inform about ERCs. Taxes don't take a summer break. This is a great time of the year to do some tax planning. In this episode, the Huddle Guys review tax savings strategies that you can consider midway through the year. Listen as they discuss Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), insurance products, and S Corp business structure considerations. The Huddle Guys also remind us not to rely on social media for tax advice. Some with very active platforms are not qualified professionals. They give advice, but they may not even be tax preparers. If the tax deduction sounds too good to be true, it may be. Now is a good time to do a check in with your tax professional. If you don't think you are receiving the best advice, consult with another professional. You can always explore the services offered by Ignatius L. Jackson, CPA and Eric Pierre, CPA. It's time to Huddle Up!

It is often said, “With more money, you have more problems.” This episode actually challenges this statement, from a tax perspective. Listen as The Huddle Guys discuss how current tax laws tend to favor the wealthy and are not designed for the wage worker. They talk about tax implications as it pertains to realized/unrealized gains and wealth transfers. In tandem, they also revisit the importance in making smart money moves and investing in working with the right CPA. As a resource boost, check out this CNBC article which features our very own Eric Pierre: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/19/president-biden-and-vp-harris-release-2020-tax-returns-what-we-learned.html There is a lot to absorb in the episode. Does selecting a CPA who is best suited to meet your personal and business needs feel like a daunting task? For some it can be. If you are lucky, you may get a solid referral from your network; others may have to do the legwork on their own. Whether you fall into the former or latter category, Eric Pierre and Ignatius Jackson provide 9 tips (8 + a bonus!) to guide your process to select a CPA. From license verification, to technical expertise, to the relationship...there is a lot to consider. Obviously, price for services is also a concern when engaging a service provider. Pay particular attention to the watch out associated with focusing solely on price for the services provided by a CPA. In typical Huddle Guys fashion, they share advice in a fun way that is easy to understand, supported by real-life examples that we can all learn from.
