(superfly.fm)

Ecommerce is a fast-paced industry, with constant change, new market entrants and incumbents updating their products with new features and fixes. James & Paul spend a lot of time looking at ecommerce strategy and technology, talking to agencies and technology vendors, so this series is a digest of what they've found interesting, what ecommerce teams should be thinking about, as well as highlighting interesting stories and cool tools they come across in their day-to-day work. In this episode we cover the general, more positive market mood in the ecommerce industry. Inevitably we reference the dominance of Shopify in replatforming projects, the positive outlook for agencies, and the growth of other platforms like BigCommerce and Centra. We also discuss interesting technology developments, including the launch of Blueprints by Patchworks and the ecommerce design subscription by Grebban. We then cover Amazon Prime Day, drone delivery, and collaborations between non-competitive businesses. Key takeaways: Shopify continues to dominate the replatforming market, but other platforms like BigCommerce and Centra are also seeing growth. The market mood for agencies is more positive, with an increase in inbound leads and a surge in new projects. Interesting tech developments include the launch of Blueprints by Patchworks and the ecommerce design subscription by Grebban. Amazon Prime Day saw significant growth in mobile sales and a surge in high-ticket item purchases. Drone delivery is gaining traction, with Amazon receiving FAA approval for longer flights and beyond visual line of sight. Collaborations between non-competitive businesses, like Card Factory and Just Eat, are opening up new distribution channels. Shein is suing Temu for selling counterfeit products, which affects brand reputation and drives up costs for brands. Vervaunt's Pulse event in New York is expanding, offering a platform for ecommerce professionals to connect and learn. This Is Not Happening - An Album Of The Month Podcast

Welcome to Episode 47 of This is Not Happening.  An Album of the Month Podcast where in Part 1 we deep dive into an Album that one of us has chosen and in Part 2 we play 'Spin it or Bin it'.  This is where we pick a theme and each select a song that represents that theme. We judge each others selections by asking the question 'Spin It or Bin It'?This month, in Part 2, Joey has picked the most obvious choice for 4 middle aged dads, Brat by Charli XCX. It is impossible to ignore the critical response for this album so we all dive headfirst into the first Charli album that any of us has experienced. And it's a belter ... but I am pretty sure it will also divide opinion. This month, in Part 2, Spin It or Bin It, the theme is simple ... 'New Music' (tracks released since 01.05.24. However, one of us picked a 49 year old track. Take a listen to hear him justify this decision.Part 1 | Charli XCX | BratWith a whopping 95% score on Metacritic, this album has had a massive impact from critics right across the music press's broad spectrum of publications. It's 15 tracks with an average length well under 3 minutes. And it has some serious weight behind a savage combo of pure pop punches. But there is WAY WAY more to it that sugar-coated pop prettiness as we get stuck right into.Listen to the album here.Watch some videos here.Want to know what Charli means to the world of pop this podcast is gold.Want to know more about the making of the album, listen to this one. And read this great article with Charli. Part 2 | Spin It or Bin It | New TracksEvery 3 months (or so) we pick to do 'New Tracks' which we define as being released 2-3 months before our podcast record date (01.05.24). We've got 4 interesting tracks this month. We've got two very different female sole artist indie tracks, one undeniable piece of piano driven, laid back housey, post-club loveliness and of course something French from David.David chose 'Le Sud (Latin Version)' by Nino Ferrer, Guts, Patchworks.Guy chose 'Method Actor' by Nilifur Yanya.Nolan chose 'God gave me feet for dancing' by Ezra Collective fear. Yazmin Lacey.Joey chose 'My Name on a T-Shirt' by Odie Leigh.See you on Episode 47 ... We've been writing the blog for years come and have a look - https://thisisnothappening.net/

Five Minute Family
Neuroplasticity and Transformation

Good morning, Five Minute Families. We are feeling refreshed and renewed, ready to begin the next seven weeks of a busy time here at CVR. We will be hosting all three of our organized programs during these weeks - grief retreat, family camp, and a marriage retreat, too. We feel God allowed the timing of these eventful weeks because Kim and I were just at a Christian counseling conference. God affirmed many of the things we teach here in our organized programs and gave us more equipping for the families and couples we will serve. Over the next two or three weeks, we would like to share some of the information that we found helpful and/or enlightening during the conference. We'd like to start with a concept that we will be chewing on and revisiting as time marches on. The concept is neuroplasticity. This word and brain adaptation are not new to many folks, but what it means for a hurting family can be invaluable. We know that God's word says that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. How exactly does that happen? Interestingly, it was once believed that no neurons could be formed beyond 18 months of age; the science isn't clear, but we do know that new neurons can grow, but even if they grow at a slow rate, God created the brain to be incredibly adaptable. People with brain injuries can learn to do skills such as reading or talking even if those traditional areas of the brain is damaged. Now, we don't just have physical damage that happens to our brain. Emotional moments can greatly impact specific areas of the brain - mainly the amygdala and hippocampus. That means, even if your family has had trauma - individual or collective trauma - then despite the fact that your brains may have a specific initial reaction, it does not mean that the brain cannot be rewired to have healthier, safer, godlier responses. Think of your old, trauma-induced or negative reactions as an old road, well-traveled and easily known. It is a straight shot but may cause lots of damage to the car and jarring to the people inside. But, it is the shortest, most direct route. It is the one you know and you just don't have to think about it at all. You can drive this road automatically. You may even learn how to avoid some of the potholes and damaged spots. When healing begins and God gets hold of your heart, a new road begins to be constructed. A new, wider, stronger, safer road is under construction, but you have to weave in and through some of the old lanes. Patchworks emerge to help. But, you have to really pay attention to lane shifts and ‘under construction' markers. There are hazards - large construction trucks, blockages and slow downs. Maybe even a few detours to the old road periodically. But, finally, the new road is there - strong, safe, and reliable. Maybe every once in a while, you find yourself in an old pattern on the old road, but realize quickly that you can drive back to the beginning, or merge onto to the new road, and have a better rest of the way home. When a loved one comes to Christ, the old pathways are worn and used, but God begins the process of allowing different neural pathways to be built stronger and healthier.Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.Ephesians 4:22-24 take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, the one created according to God's likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.Ezekiel 36:26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove

Surprise! Another bonus episode featuring Barbara Brown Taylor from our 2022 Evolving Faith conference. Barbara skillfully walks us through how to own our ever evolving relationship with scripture. She reminds us that just as the text has stood the scrutiny of our ancestors, it can also handle ours. Barbara challenges us to see our own relationship with scripture as a quilt, with no two being the same. “Working on your quilt isn't the same as designing your own Bible, though we do that too. It's a matter of taking responsibility for how you read it and why along with the honor of putting your fingerprints on it as generations before you have done.” You don't want to miss this episode, and you'll most definitely want to share it with anyone in your quilt making circle.  Show Notes 2023 Evolving Faith Conference

— Birgit Goette Schon wieder was Neues!

Su último largo es Made in China (Chesapik, 2016).

Chaka Delic's World of Music

The long awaited slow-speed. Pleased to drop some hip hop type joints here. Anyhow, the goal here was simply to drop some joints I'm feeling regardless of whether they are recent or not. As a parting comment, much respect to everybody that does THEIR thing to the fullest. It's not all about ONE type of music 100% of the time. This time, I'm including a playlist because people like my mate, Black Monk, need to be known about AND it's only fair that I spread the word about these artists. In the past I've not done one because I've felt it encourages a research type mentality rather than a checking-out-the-vibe mentality. I've always shared the playlist though upon request. Anyway, here goes: 1. Patchworks "Velvet & Dust Anthem" 2. Black Monk "More Stuff" (unreleased) 3. Joy Jones "Hollywood" 4. DJ Vadim "Quand Vient La Nuit" 5. DJ Mitsu "A Word to the Wise" featuring Grap Luva 6. Pete Rock "Intrigue" 7. Fujimoto Tetsuro "Matting Craft" 8. Emcee Sin "Foreplay" (Altered Natives production/Eye 4 Eye Recordings Promo) 9. 6th Borough Project "Settle" 10. Holly Roller Productions "Skooling" (IG Culture on the buttons here) 11. Karizma "Time" As for the artwork, well, "what more can I say, top billing," as Audio Two says. Once again, Djembe's fantastic artwork. This piece is called "Peaceful Tiger." I encourage you to check out Djembe's (Joe's) website to learn more about his art -- www.djembeandcanvas.com
