This week on Can I Laugh On Your Shoulder, we're sitting down with the incredible Abbie Halberstadt. Abbie is a wife, homeschooling mama to 10 amazing kids, a best-selling author, blogger, and fitness instructor. But most importantly, she's a Bible-believing Christian with a deep desire to know God and make Him known. Abbie lives by the motto "Hard is not the same thing as bad," and she passionately encourages women to dig deep in the everyday trials of motherhood to uncover the treasures of joy and growth that are abundant if we're willing to look. In this episode, we dive straight into a rich conversation about her newest book, Hard is Not the Same Thing as Bad, which echoes this philosophy. We explore what it looks like to navigate the trials of life, motherhood, and everything the world throws at us. It was an absolute honor to have Abbie on the show, and I just know you'll be as inspired by her as I was! 2:30 – Abbie 101 Wife, mom, and Christian living in Texas Best-selling author Married to a supportive and wise partner Trust and teamwork within a family 16:55 – Hard Is Not The Same As Bad Where the idea for this book came from The hard teaches us something Who Abbie had in mind when writing this book Motherhood is not a burden 31:01 – The Gift of Parenting How motherhood is commonly portrayed today Ignoring voices that encourage complaining and victimhood Seeking strength and support from God Giving children purpose and responsibility at home 48:47 – Takeaways Psalm 27:13 Connecting with Abbie FEATURED QUOTES “The hard teaches us something. You have authority in Christ!Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, andover all the power of the enemy, and nothing [no-thing] will injure you.”Jesus gave us these words because He was preparing us to realize that once we enter HisKingdom, we have entered into battle with the enemy of mankind's soul.

"Giving to God? Giving to Caesar?"
The first part of the Gospel presentation is sin. We are sinful and need to be saved. In this passage, Paul demonstrates the mess we are in, and how we got there. God gave us free will, and no matter how bad our choices will be, He lets us make them and face the consequences.
Does Israel possess a special anointing or blessing related to medicine or technology? How did God give His only begotten Son if He simply went back to Heaven? Do we really give our life to God or does He give His life to us? Will the whole world realize the return of Christ is happening or just believers? So many people ask the question in the title. Again, no. God is not speaking to individuals apart from His already-delivered written word. Today we look at another question that people ask: If we do hear a voice, how do we know it's from the Lord? And if it's not from God, then who is speaking? We know it's not due to: --The Reaction --The Content --The Deception Resources- Direct revelation Part 1 The End Time Does God Still Give Revelation? 10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. 13 Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come. 15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. In this episode, Jeff shares his excitement about the successful launch of his devotional and how God has been faithful. He also discusses the importance of delighting in the Lord and how it leads to God-given desires.Key Points:Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."Initially, Jeff used to dump all his desires on God, but now he seeks an intimate relationship with the Lord and lets Him place the desires in his heart.God's desires are far greater than any human desire we can manufacture.Seeking God first and making His desires our own leads to answered prayers.Sometimes God may say no to our desires or refine/change them, but it's all for our good and His glory.Jeff encourages listeners to delight themselves in the Lord and ask Him to give them the desires He has for them.Thank you for tuning in to today's episode. So much is talked about God and his relationship to giving in the church. The message of giving has been so corrupted by agendas we have lost it's purpose and meaning. This series looks to travel through the whole Bible to see what God really has to say about giving. Let's journey together to find truth for ourselves. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lifetough/support
Ephesians 6:10-17 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. Who is the author? PAUL Who is the audience? CHRISTIANS in EPHESUS What is the context? SPIRITUAL WARFARE 1. Know who your ENEMY is. Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. Our enemy is DESTRUCTIVE John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Our enemy is DECEPTIVE 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. Our enemy is DETERMINED I Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 2. Know your PART. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Habakkuk 3:9 The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. Isaiah 35:4 say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Being strong in the Lord isn't about God GIVING you strength. It is about God BECOMING your strength. I Samuel 30:6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. My greatest STRENGTH is found at the point of my greatest SURRENDER. 3. Know your ODDS. Difficulty is measured by the CAPACITY of the AGENT doing the work. When God is added to the equation, the problem goes from DIFFICULT to EASILY DOABLE. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/coastalchurch/message

Join me today as I speak with the first missionary lady we have had on the podcast, Mrs. Nikki Brown to Cambodia. Nikki tells us about God giving her an answer to her prayers.
God says to you: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5) The most important choice you can make every day, is to seek God's clarity and the Heart of God's Understanding for each decision you need to make.God's promise to you is that if you are deficient, lacking clarity and wanting an understanding heart, which is God's clarity – the ability to use the Gift of His Wisdom. Then all you have to simply do is ask God Who gives to everyone who ask Him liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding and Undestanding Heart. A clarity that comes with his peace the surpasses all understanding, that mount guard over your heart and mindThe soul harmony which comes from Christ rule act as umpire continually in your hearts deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state to which you as a member of Christ's Body were also called to live. Being Thankful And Appreciative for God Giving you the understanding heart you requested of Him. (James 1:5, Colossians 3:15) Look at King SolomonKing Solomon Requested a Discerning Heart to govern God's people and to discern or distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours? (1 Kings 3:9)Solomon was wise ask God for a discerning heart. This precious gift is essential for you, especially when you're making plans and decisions. So come boldly to God's Throne of Grace to receive the understanding heart that, He Knows you need. Yes, Matthew 6:8 tells thee God knows those things that you need even before you ask.So Come to God your Father BEFORE you Make Decisions, Who Knows What you Need even Before Asking, Trust Him to Provide His Best for you.-Mt 6:8God is drawing you to himself, to hear from him and to receive the wisdom that you need in each decision of life.Yes, God stirs you to recognize your need for His Help in All that you do. A Wise and Understanding Heart to Discern What you Should do in Every Area of Life; And God Enjoys giving you His Wisdom Liberally. (James 1:5)God's wisdom from above is first of all pure, undefiled; then it is peace-loving, courteous, considerate, gentle.
