In this episode of the Business God's Way podcast, Jeff explores the story of John the Baptist from the book of John, chapter 3. He delves into how John the Baptist's humility and understanding of his role in God's plan can serve as a lesson for entrepreneurs. Jeff challenges listeners to shift their focus from competition and jealousy to paving the way for Jesus in their businesses.Key Takeaways:Humility Over Competition: John the Baptist teaches us the importance of humility in acknowledging that all we have is a gift from God. This principle is crucial in business, where competition and jealousy can easily cloud our judgment.Understanding Your Role: John knew his role was to prepare the way for Jesus, not to be the main event. Similarly, entrepreneurs should understand their role in God's bigger plan and focus on fulfilling that purpose. The Joy of Decreasing: John found joy in seeing Jesus' ministry take the forefront, understanding that he must decrease for Jesus to increase. This perspective can bring peace and joy to business owners as they see others succeed in their respective callings.Focus on Kingdom Impact: The ultimate goal should be to make a Kingdom impact through your business. This means laying aside distractions and comparisons to focus on what God has called you to do.This episode serves as a reminder that our businesses are not about us but about paving the way for Jesus. As you navigate the challenges and opportunities in your entrepreneurial journey, may you find joy in decreasing so that He may increase. In today's episode, Jeff explores the significance of Proverbs 16:9 and how it relates to planning in business. He reminds us to trust in the Lord to establish our steps and direct us on the right path.Key Points:Proverbs 16:9 states, "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps."While planning is essential for entrepreneurs, we must remember to trust in God's direction and guidance. We can get caught up in our plans, but we should hold them loosely and be open to God's intervention.James 4:13-15 emphasizes the importance of acknowledging God's will in our planning.God wants us to use our intelligence and skills in business but in submission to His sovereignty. Our plans should align with God's desires for our lives and businesses, bringing glory to Him and advancing His kingdom. As you plan and dream big for your business, remember that God is the ultimate CEO. Trust in His guidance and be willing to let go of your own desires if they don't align with His will. Submitting to God's plan brings about the best outcomes for His glory and the advancement of His kingdom. In this episode, Jeff shares his excitement about the successful launch of his devotional and how God has been faithful. He also discusses the importance of delighting in the Lord and how it leads to God-given desires.Key Points:Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."Initially, Jeff used to dump all his desires on God, but now he seeks an intimate relationship with the Lord and lets Him place the desires in his heart.God's desires are far greater than any human desire we can manufacture.Seeking God first and making His desires our own leads to answered prayers.Sometimes God may say no to our desires or refine/change them, but it's all for our good and His glory.Jeff encourages listeners to delight themselves in the Lord and ask Him to give them the desires He has for them.Thank you for tuning in to today's episode. Burnout and fatigue are real things, and often we don't realize how close or how far into either one of them we are until it's too late.In today's episode, Jeff discusses the need to step away, change our routine, reconnect with God, and make this a habit. If we don't make "getting away" a habit, we run the risk of limiting our impact and putting our mental and emotional health at risk. Even Jesus needed His time away from His "ordinary" daily routine to spend it reconnecting with the Father.Make sure you listen to my next episode.Get connected to the communityTake the Business God's Way Pledge - https://bit.ly/bizgodswaypledgeLinks to podcastApple - https://apple.co/3vBaGu0Google - http://bit.ly/3Z63UdgStitcher - http://bit.ly/3Q7L01KSpotify - https://spoti.fi/3X0Ksx4Subscribe and Listen on YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/@jeffelderbgwLearn more about how to work with JeffWebsite - https://www.jeffreyelder.comMissionWe are a movement of Christ-driven entrepreneurs (Kingdompreneurs) committed to honoring Christ in our business and changing lives through the gospel. Romans 8:28 is perhaps one of the most quoted verses in the entire Bible. And rightfully so. It's an amazing promise that we come back to time and time again. But Romans 8:28 is only half of the story and if we miss Romans 8:29, we miss the entire purpose of what God is actually "working together for our good." Having a clear understanding of these two verses will have a profound impact on you and your business. In this episode, I will unpack Romans 8:28-29 and the hope it will bring to you and your business when trials and hardships come your way and how God is at work for your own "good." The most common way we know to worship is standing at church on Sunday mornings reading the lyrics and singing along with the music. But there is much more to worship than that. Every time we offer up our bodies and sacrifice our own desires, plans, wants, and ambitions and walk in obedience, that is an act of worship that is acceptable to God. Romans 12:1 - I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. In today's episode, I will walk through how Romans 12:1 applies to our work and how it is an act of worship. I will also provide a 3-step process for how to cultivate a work and worship mindset. Growing as leaders and entrepreneurs is so essential and can have a huge impact on the success of both our personal and business life. One way we grow is through books. I don't need to state the obvious, but there is no shortage of business and personal development books on the market. The flip side of that is not all of these books come from a Christian perspective. As Christians what do we do about that? Do we steer clear of any book that isn't written from a Christain perspective? Is it wrong for us to read those books? In this episode, I will answer these questions and provide some tips on how to allow these books to still be of benefit while honoring the Lord. It's so easy to lose our identity. And once we do we are heading for a world of hurt. When we forget who we are in Christ and that he is the only person who can truly satisfy us we begin chasing after other things to take His place. The problem is that those things we chase leave us empty and disappointed in the end. As entrepreneurs, it's very easy to chase after that "big client", status, popularity, or fill in the blank with whatever you may be pursuing after right now that is not Christ-focused. The good news is that we no longer have to be slaves to those impulses. We can choose to anchor ourselves in Christ's identity. In today's episode, we'll discuss this new identity we have in Christ and how that plays out in the life of a Kingdompreneur. Thanks for listening to the Business God's Way Podcast! You've worked hard at creating that great offer. You invested time, energy, and resources into it. But when you launch it...crickets. You keep watching and waiting for that first sale, and it never comes. As entrepreneurs, we've all been there. I was in this same spot myself not too long ago and it stings. It really does. I want to say something to you...you don't have to let it defeat you. You can get back up and try again. And I know you will. The reason I can say this is because you are a Kingdompreneur! In today's episode, we talk about what to do when no one purchases your programs. We'll discuss the mindset shift that needs to take place and provide some practical steps you can take for your next product launch. Thanks for listening to the Business God's Way Podcast! Comparison is something we all deal with at some point in our entrepreneurial journey. Some may deal with it more than others and how it impacts us can vary from person to person as well. Comparison often stops us in our tracks and can get us off course. It can cause feelings of not being good enough, not having enough, guilt, or shame. As Kingdompreneurs, it can also distract us from our calling and the enemy can often use comparison to rob us of our joy and keep us from having the impact God wants us to have in life and business. I want us all to win over comparison so we can as my guest likes to say, "be who you were created to be and do what you were designed to do." In today's episode, Renee Vidor will share her 3-step process for how to WIN when it comes to comparison. She shares openly and honestly about her own journey with comparison, which led her to write her book and start the Winner Circle Community. As leaders, our words have a lot of power. They can elevate a person or tear them down. They can leave a person feeling encouraged or hurt. Leaders need to tame their tongues and watch what they say. Their speech needs to be seasoned with grace, love and controlled by wisdom. Our words need to be filled with life and not death. They need to be purposeful. The book of Proverbs provides over 300 verses about our speech. It's an important discussion and one we need to lean in and hear. In today's episode, we will discuss the leader's priority of speaking wisdom and knowledge into the lives of those who we lead. Because when we do that is when we will see more impact. One of the ways we glorify God is by imitating Him. And one of the ways we are called to imitate Him is in the leader's priority to plan. God is a planner. We see evidence of this when God tells Jeremiah that He has plans for him (Jer. 29:11). The book of Proverbs instructs us to be planners. Planners in our business, organization, and ministry. But we are called to plan differently than the world does. In today's episode, we will explore what the book of Proverbs has to say about how Godly leaders plan and the importance of bringing God and others into that planning.
