Hey everyone, welcome back to another review! Inside Out 2, the sequel to one of the most celebrated films Pixar (a FANTASTIC studio) has ever put out, has now hit theaters but the hype for this one just hasn't been there. I was looking forward to it and was very curious about what Pixar had to say about emotions during our teenage years as opposed to being a child but it's weird that it took 9 years. And an even weirder choice was waiting 9 years and not aging Riley up a little more. Anyways, we now have the film. Does it live up to the original? Find out in this review! Inside Out 2: Directed by: Kelsey Mann Screenplay by: Dave Holstein, Meg LeFauve Produced by: Mark Nielsen Executive Producers: Pete Docter, Jonas Rivera, Dan Scanlon Music by: Andrea Datzman Cinematography by: Adam Habib, Jonathan Pytko Editing by: Maurissa Horowitz Casting by: Natalie Lyon, Kevin Reher Production Design by: Jason Deamer Cast: Maya Hawke, Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser Synopsis: Teenager Riley's mind headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who've long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren't sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she's not alone.

Getting to have these conversations is such a treat for me, and I really enjoyed getting to have this conversation with Jonas Rivera from Pixar. After starting as an intern on the original Toy Story, rising up to producer on UP, Inside Out, Toy Story 4 and helping to shape Soul, Jonas has 4 Oscars under his belt and is now Executive Vice President of Production at Pixar. That would be a great story itself, but there are a lot more ingredients mixed in here, and really, this conversation was so enjoyable because Jonas is a super nice guy, gracious, humble and obviously absolutely loves what he does.  We talk about the early days of Pixar, touch on all the films he produced and his work with Pete Docter, chat about a producers role in the brain trust, and lots moreI know you'll really enjoy this one and Jonas was really generous with his time, which was essential in sharing such a long and interesting career. And Jonas is still a pretty young guy, so there's a lot more career to come. The book referred to toward the end of the episode is 'You Negotiate Like A Girl' by Amy Trask.Enjoy! Please like, rate, and comment on your favorite podcasting platform and share the episode on social media if you enjoy it.If you have any comments or suggestions please get in touch.

Sam Clements talks to Toy Story 4 producers Mark Nielsen and Jonas Rivera about Pixar Animation Studio's latest animated adventure. It’s back – the jewel in Pixar’s crown and the story that changed cinema forever. The adventures of Woody, Buzz and the gang continue in another rollercoaster of a movie, which promises to pull on the heartstrings and tickle the funny bones of kids and grown-ups alike. Woody (Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnie’s prized but reluctant new toy, a disposable spork called Forky (Tony Hale), runs away during a family vacation, Woody and friends begin a quest to bring him back where he belongs. On their ensuing road-trip adventure alongside new faces and old friends, the charismatic pull-string cowboy learns just how big the world can be for a toy.

Then, we welcome Academy Award-nominated producer, author and filmmaker Don Hahn to the show to talk about mid-century modern design at the Walt Disney Studios, and how Walt and his team of artists adapted, reflected, implemented and even developed design trends and traits which were common in the middle of the last century. There's nothing like a ticket price increase to get the Disney fan base stirred up. Make it "seasonal pricing" (or "tiered pricing" or "surge pricing"), however, and you'd better getting ready for major outrage. The price of single-day and multi-day tickets went up (for the most part) at all the Disney parks over the weekend, with single-day tickets now priced based on expected attendance. In a nutshell, you'll pay more to visit your favorite park on a busy day (say, summer or Christmastime) than you will during a quieter day (like an October weekday). What does it all mean and should you really be upset about it? Tim and Anthony sort it all out for you in this week's Inside The Mouse Castle. Here's what else we've got going on: At the Academy Awards Sunday, Pixar's Inside Out was the unsurprising, but highly deserving winner of the Best Animated Feature Oscar. In their acceptance speech, director Pete Docter and producer Jonas Rivera had inspiring words about the importance of "making stuff" in the face of adversity. Rest in peace, Jack Lindquist, who passed away Sunday at the age of 88. Jack was a marketing genius who became Disneyland's first president and, later, a Disney Legend. His memoir, In Service to the Mouse, should be required reading for every Disney fan. Our condolences to Jack's friends and family. He will be greatly missed. Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters will officially open at Disney California Adventure on March 7. Annual Passholders can get an exclusive preview of the ride on March 4. This looks like a very fun ride--and hopefully a more reliable replacement for Luigi's Flying Tires. Guests attending the Food & Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure in April can take part in special Beverage Seminars at Sonoma Terrace. Fifteen dollars will get you admission and three samples of select beers, wine or spirits. To purchase tickets, visit https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disney-california-adventure/food-and-wine-festival-beverage-seminars. Marvel superheroes and villains will take each other on in Marvel Battlegrounds, the new four-player play set for Disney Infinity 3.0. A modern-look Captain America comes with the set and new character figures Ant-Man, Vision and Black Panther will also be available. Purchase the set online or in stores on March 15. Today's parting question: Does the thought of an It's a Small World movie make you cringe as much as us? Thought so. Enjoy! www.TheMouseCastle.comRSS Feed: http://insidethemousecastle.libsyn.com/rss
