Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for week 16 at the RBC Heritage & Corales Puntacana Championship! -Reviewing Rory completing the grand slam at the 89th Masters -Discussing top 8 at Heritage -1 matchup -2 t10's -3 outrights (+475, 50/1, 90/1) -Sleeper, 2 lineups, scoring, best bet -2 FRL for Corales -2 outrights for Corales -1 t10 for Corales The transcript begins with host Will Docter reacting to Rory McIlroy's landmark Masters victory, completing the career Grand Slam and joining an elite group of six. Mike Tirico's emotional broadcast is cited, capturing McIlroy's on-course collapse in tears. Rory's press conference reflects on inspiration from Tiger Woods, struggles throughout the day, and mental strength, particularly after early double bogeys. A note from Ángel Cabrera added a sentimental touch. Rory's rounds of 72, 66, 66, and 73 included four double bogeys—no past Masters winner had ever overcome as many. Docter notes Rory's final round featured both mistakes and immediate recoveries, such as birdies following doubles and clutch iron shots, particularly a hook 7-iron on the 15th hole. Despite sloppy play off the tee and below-average putting, his elite approach and short game, backed by years of mental training, led him to victory over contenders like Justin Rose, who shot a 66 on Sunday to force a playoff but fell short. The loss marked Rose's second defeat in a Masters playoff. Docter transitions to a betting review, citing a 12.6-unit loss on the Masters, part of a 74.6-unit deficit on the season. Key misfires included failed bets on Sepp Straka and Tom Hoge, both below-average chippers—highlighting a key error in strategy at Augusta. Ludwig Åberg nearly contended until a late collapse; Collin Morikawa's first-round falter also ruined early bets. Sungjae Im was a bright spot with a fifth-place finish. Doctor criticizes his overreliance on players with poor short games and reviews each ticket, including failed first-round bets and frustrating near misses like Shane Lowry, who imploded with an 81 on Sunday. Shifting to the RBC Heritage at Harbor Town, Docter details the course as favoring accurate drivers, sharp approach play from 150–175 yards, and strong Bermuda putting. He reviews top favorites. Scheffler (+425) is a strong pick, showing consistent elite form and success at Harbor Town last year. Morikawa, Henley, and Fleetwood are dismissed due to poor putting. Corey Conners and Åberg are borderline due to form and past finishes. Schauffele is in good form but not elite in the critical approach range. Cantlay and Fleetwood are passed due to inconsistent recent play. A key matchup pick is Ryan Gerard over Adam Scott, citing Scott's issues with driving and putting. Gerard is also the sleeper pick to top 20. Two “picks to place” include Schauffele top 10 (+120), based on elite approach numbers and improving putting, and JT Poston top 10 (+375), with recent putting resurgence and three top-10s at Harbor Town. Outright picks include Scheffler, Berger (50:1), praised for driving accuracy and course history, and Bud Cauley (90:1), with recent top-5 finishes and elite stats in the target range. Fantasy lineups are provided for DraftKings and PGA.com platforms, with lineups built around Scheffler, Schauffele, Im, Berger, Poston, and Cauley. The predicted winning score is 19-under. The best bet is Sungjae Im as top Asian (+160), citing strong course history and lack of serious competition beyond Ryo Hisatsune. For Corrales, Mitchell (28:1) and Hall (33:1) are first-round leader picks based on scoring averages. Outright bets are Packieter and Cootie at 45:1, while Alejandro Tosti is selected to top 10 at +333 based on form despite putting concerns. The podcast wraps with reminders of betting value and expectations heading into the next week. Predicted winning score: 19-under-par at RBC Heritage. Will Doctor gives you the sharpest picks for the Friday foursomes matches for Day 2 at the Presidents Cup! For more on the world of golf, follow Doc on X @drmedia59 The Golf Preview Podcast hosted by Will Docter offers detailed insights into the latest PGA Tour events, specifically focusing on the President's Cup matches. Here's a comprehensive summary of key moments and expert analysis from the podcast: Introduction (0:15 - 0:28) Will Docter welcomes listeners, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming PGA Tour picks, particularly focusing on the President's Cup matches. Day One Recap and Analysis (0:36 - 14:40) The podcast dives into the dominant performance by the USA team during the first day of four-ball matches, where they swept all five matches. This sweep marks the first such occurrence in the President's Cup since 1994. Match 1: Xander Schauffele and Tony Finau vs. Jason Day and Byung-Hun Ahn Outcome: Schauffele and Finau won. Key Points: Despite losing the lead midway, the American duo managed a brilliant comeback, securing their victory. Docter highlights their role as favorites with a betting line of -180. Match 2: Collin Morikawa and Sahith Tagala vs. Adam Scott and Min Woo Lee Outcome: Morikawa and Tagala won by one stroke. Key Points: Morikawa carried the team, making significant birdies, while Tagala sealed the match with a clutch birdie on the 18th. Match 3: Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley vs. Sungjae Im and Tom Kim Outcome: Scheffler and Henley won. Key Points: Sungjae Im's inability to make any birdies was detrimental to his team. Tom Kim was the only bright spot for the international team, but it wasn't enough to overcome the American duo. Match 4: Wyndham Clark and Keegan Bradley vs. Taylor Pendrith and Christiaan Bezuidenhout Outcome: Clark and Bradley won by one. Key Points: Bezuidenhout's struggles on the greens were a major factor, with Docter critical of his performance. Clark's early birdies and Bradley's clutch putt on 18 secured the win. Match 5: Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns vs. Hideki Matsuyama and Corey Conners Outcome: Cantlay and Burns won by two strokes. Key Points: Cantlay's dominance in team play and Burns' contributions with key birdies sealed the victory. Matsuyama and Conners struggled to sink putts, leading to their defeat. Day Two Match Preview (14:40 - 32:45) Will provides a breakdown of Friday's alternate shot matchups, offering betting advice and in-depth player analysis. Match 6: Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele vs. Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im Analysis: Docter favors Cantlay and Schauffele (-145), citing Cantlay's outstanding form and Schauffele's recent clutch play. Sungjae Im's poor showing on Thursday is highlighted as a concern, making this a lopsided match. Match 7: Collin Morikawa and Sahith Tagala vs. Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith Analysis: With Morikawa carrying the team and Tagala making key birdies, Docter sees the Americans as favorites (-140). Pendrith's strong day-one performance is noted, but Scott's lackluster play could be a factor. Match 8: Max Homa and Brian Harman vs. Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Jason Day Analysis: Docter criticizes international captain Mike Weir for sending Bezuidenhout back out despite his struggles. Homa and Harman (-105) are the favored duo. Match 9: Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau vs. Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes Analysis: Clark's flawless play and Finau's pivotal birdies make the American team (-115) a strong contender. Docter questions Weir's decision-making in waiting until match four to send Conners and Hughes out. Match 10: Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley vs. Si Woo Kim and Byung-Hun Ahn Analysis: Scheffler and Henley (-195) are heavily favored. Docter believes Weir made a critical error by not pairing Tom Kim with Si Woo Kim, missing an opportunity to challenge Scheffler. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Will Doctor delivers the sharpest prop card for the 15th Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal Golf Club (Blue Course). Stay tuned for Doc's Presidents Cup daily picks throughout the tournament. You can find him on X @drmedia59 In this episode of the Golf Preview Podcast, Will Docter provides an in-depth preview of the 2024 Presidents' Cup, offering analysis on team compositions, key players, and betting tips for the tournament at Royal Montreal. Overview (0:16 - 22:05) The Presidents' Cup is a biennial event where the U.S. competes against an international team (excluding Europe). The tournament features 30 matches over four days: five on Thursday and Friday, eight on Saturday, and twelve singles matches on Sunday. Historically, the U.S. has dominated the competition, winning every Cup since 2003. Docter doesn't expect that to change this year due to the talent disparity between the teams. U.S. Team: The U.S. team is missing Bryson DeChambeau but remains strong with elite players like Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, both boasting impressive Presidents' Cup records. Schauffele, who has a 6-3-0 record in the Presidents' Cup, is one of Docter's top picks for the tournament, especially given the course's emphasis on accuracy. Tony Finau is another player Docter highlights, noting his solid ball-striking and improved putting. International Team: The international squad, led by Mike Weir, faces a significant challenge without LIV players like Cam Smith and Joaquin Niemann. Key returners include Sungjae Im, Si Woo Kim, and Hideki Matsuyama, but Docter questions whether they can carry the team. He also emphasizes the importance of Canada's Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith performing well after their disappointing 0-4-0 records in 2022. LIV Golf Controversy: Docter criticizes the LIV Golf format, calling it a "joke" and blaming it for excluding top international talent from this year's event. LIV players were not allowed to compete in the Presidents' Cup, despite being eligible for other events like the Ryder Cup. Betting Insights: Docter provides several betting recommendations, starting with Team USA to win at -250. He offers three prop bets: Xander Schauffele to be the Top USA Point Scorer at +450, citing his flexibility in pairings and strong Presidents' Cup record. Tony Finau as the Top USA Captain's Pick at +650, emphasizing his ball-striking and respectable team event history. Sahith Theegala to finish as the Top USA Rookie at +250, praising his recent form and energy, which will be crucial in a high-stakes team event. On the international side, Docter passes on many categories but backs Si Woo Kim as the Top International Captain's Pick at +350. He notes Si Woo's strong ball-striking, recent form, and history of excelling in team formats. Key Quotes and Stats: "The United States has won every Presidents' Cup since 2003, and I don't think that changes this week." Docter establishes that the U.S. remains the heavy favorite, particularly with the absence of key international players. "Xander Schauffele has a 6-3-0 record in two Presidents' Cups." Schauffele's experience and versatility make him a strong bet for top U.S. scorer, especially given the challenging setup of Royal Montreal. "Si Woo Kim's ball-striking has been phenomenal over his last two events." Docter's confidence in Si Woo stems from his recent finishes and history of delivering in big moments, making him a standout pick for top international captain's choice. Time Stamps: Introduction and overview (0:16 - 0:29) Presidents' Cup format breakdown (0:39 - 22:05) Team analysis and key players (various segments within 0:39 - 22:05) LIV Golf controversy and implications (15:00 - 17:00) Betting recommendations (22:05 - 40:00) Learn more about your ad choices. “All of our emotions are there for a good reason. They're positive. They want to help. And a little anxiety is good. … All of society is saying, ‘Get rid of emotion. It's awful. It's evil.' It's not true.” In this episode, Mark welcomes Pete Docter, executive producer of Inside Out 2, and the Oscar-winning director of Monsters, Inc., Up, and Inside Out. Pete joined Pixar Animation Studios in 1990 at twenty-one years old as its third animator, and is now Pixar's chief creative officer. Mark and Pete discuss the ins and outs of Inside Out 2, including its themes about emotion, psychology, adolescence, and the discovery and acceptance of who we are. Pete reflects on the power of music to convey unconscious meaning, alongside the subtle and sophisticated animation techniques used by Pixar today. We learn about the new emotion characters (including Anxiety, Embarrassment, and Ennui), as well as those that almost made the cut. And Pete comments on the spiritual and moral dimensions that Inside Out 2 is able to explore. About Pete Docter Pete Docter is the Oscar-winning director of Monsters, Inc., Up, and Inside Out, and chief creative officer at Pixar Animation Studios. He most recently directed Disney and Pixar's Oscar-winning feature film Soul with producer Dana Murray and co-director Kemp Powers, which is now streaming on Disney+. Starting at Pixar in 1990 as the studio's third animator, Docter collaborated on and helped develop the story and characters for Toy Story, Pixar's first full-length animated feature film, for which he also was supervising animator. He served as a storyboard artist on A Bug's Life and wrote initial story treatments for both Toy Story 2 and WALL•E. Aside from directing his three films, Docter also executive produced Monsters University and the Academy Award–winning Brave. Docter's interest in animation began at the age of eight, when he created his first flipbook. He studied character animation at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Valencia, California, where he produced a variety of short films, one of which won a Student Academy Award. Those films have since been shown in animation festivals worldwide and are featured on the Pixar Short Films Collection, volume 2. Upon joining Pixar, he animated and directed several commercials, and has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Animated Feature–winners Up and Inside Out and nominee Monsters, Inc., and Best Original Screenplay for Up, Inside Out and WALL•E. In 2010, Up also was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Show Notes Continuity and discontinuity in Inside Out 2 Pete Docter comments on the main character/setting of Inside Out series: Riley and what's going on inside her head. Some psychologists think there are 27 emotions Puberty and adolescence New emotions: Bringing Anxiety, Embarrassment, and Ennui (Boredom) into the picture Anxiety as the new protagonist Changing body and outgrowing an old sweater Riley's pimple: “That was something that Kelsey Mann, the director, was big on from the beginning. He would say, we were so used to seeing characters represented in this perfect, idealized way. And yet, when we look at the mirror, we realize, ‘Hey, I don't measure up to that.' That was kind of the message of the film from the beginning—is learning to accept yourself. You know, the flaws and all, because that's so much of our civilization is measuring ourselves against others. And especially that period in time growing up, you're suddenly socially aware, and where you fit in or don't.” From family to friends as the dominant group “All of our emotions are there for a good reason. They're positive. They want to help. And a little anxiety is good. Lisa L'Amour, who was a consultant on the film, her big thing is like, all of society is saying, ‘Get rid of emotion. It's awful. It's evil.' It's not true.” Researching the psychology of emotion for the film, and experimenting with various emotions as characters Anxiety as subtly controlling Schadenfreude almost made Inside Out and Inside Out 2 as a gag. Anxiety is not directly related to puberty. “Who are we? What are the things that make us who we are? Is it just our experiences, our beliefs, our actions that we take? And all of those start to get folded into the film.” “For me, the creative process is all about the nitty gritty details.” “So really that's just what I'm trying to do is for us in that room, as we're making it: Are we engaged? Are we emotional?” The complexity of guilt and shame Learning that sincerity—the truth of the character—is the key Special Effects work in Inside Out 2 The subtle and sophisticated storytelling device of Riley's eyes. How digital animation works today—more like a puppet than a drawing. Music as an unconscious communicator Dr. Paul Ekman: Emotions are largely under the hood. Soul (2020) and the philosophy of dualism as a Greek concept Embodied souls—a colliding, intertwined, inseparable reality Understanding the instrumentality of the brain The amazing amount of goodness that Pixar has injected into the world Pete Docter on working with Amy Poehler, Tony Hale, and Maya Hawke “Our emotions are really on our team.” Fear as a dominant emotion for the era we live in Joy vs Sadness or Joy vs Fear How Pete Docter's faith informs his approach to Inside Out “One other little bit of research we did that I was shocked by is that there's apparently a part of your brain that lights up especially when you watch animation.”
This past weekend, in Pasadena, California, The Salvation Army from around the Western Territory joined for an event focused on teaching, training and motivating Salvationists to tell the story of Jesus more often and to more people—the 2024 Testify Congress. On the 276th Episode of the Underdog Sports NBA show, Zandrick and Tyler focus heavily on the eastern conference as the stretch run begins! They begin with some talk about how the Boston Celtics are likely underrated both nationally and within the betting markets and how their play style this year may lend itself to less playoff letdowns than in the past. They then shift to debating the differences between the Bucks and Cavaliers and how the NBA is more likely to want the Bucks to hit their stride. Finally they talk through the surprising Orlando Magic and what the future holds for that organization as they try and build off of this season!

Three-time Oscar winner and Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter is receiving the prestigious Winsor McCay Award at the 2023 Annie Awards on Saturday February 25th. You can watch the ceremony live at 10pmET at AnnieAwards.org. In this Exclusive Interview, Docter reflects on his career, sharing insights on his four directorial features ("Monsters, Inc.", "Up", "Inside Out" and "Soul"), as well as Pixar's first film ("Toy Story") and next film ("Elemental").
Transformational Coach, Author and Speaker Karla Docter shares her journey of working with survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault for a non-profit for 12+ years to her transition into entrepreneurship. As a coach she has been able to share her story, which has in turn helped others learn to receive and attract love in all aspects of life & business. Key points of this episode: - Our limiting beliefs are triggers that are holding us back from what we want to do. - Trauma creates heart locks where there should be love. Talk to a coach about it to deconstruct yourself. - Meditate to hear silence and work on your inner self. - Journal to express all your thoughts and feelings. You can always go back to see you much you've accomplished. - Focus on what you WANT instead of what OTHERS want from you. - Just like a bow and arrow: you need to pull it back so it can go a lot more further. - It's important to know where is the starting point -who we are and what we want-, in order to get further. - We think we need to do something to be worthy. Now we know that being worth is your birthright. - Trust factor: start by looking at all the things you are ALREADY trusting. Uts promosi dokter Inggris 2021 from : https://youtu.be/OvT8SSqrETo videos about the promotion of English doctors, very good programs that are given are very clear, and easy to understand, The material provided in my opinion is the development between technology, language, and health, is a perfect combination, because now there are many patients who are susceptible to disease but in Indonesia there is still insufficient medical treatment, so it is very necessary to have a doctor who can speak English so that we can work together with abroad, in order to complement each other in the fields of technology and information, and also we can find out or even make tools that do not yet exist in Indonesia,

With the creation of SOUL, director Pete Doctor and producer Dana Murray have truly stretched Pixar’s creative… well… soul. Exploring the relationship between the afterlife and living for today, SOUL follows Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher who yearns to find success onstage. Inconveniently killed after his ‘big break’, Gardner teams with a pre-born soul to get back to Earth so he doesn’t miss his shot at success. In this 1on1, we get to speak to Docter and Murray about creating the afterlife onscreen and what it really means to follow your dreams.
Over the past decade, Pixar's excelled at building deep existential dilemmas into touching animated feature films. Director Pete Docter (Inside Out, Up), in particular. Docter's known for his skill in blending weighty themes into emotionally charged, yet charmingly joyful, treks through the human psyche. So, it only makes sense that Pixar paired him with Kemp Powers (One Night in Miami) as co-director and co-writer on his passion project Soul. You'll be pleased to discover that Soul leans into what Pixar's best known for, creating an immersive world of visual and sensory delights woven into a thoughtful and emotional journey. Teaching, Dream Chasing, and all that Jazz Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx) is a jazz musician making his living as a middle school music teacher. Jazz feeds his soul but it doesn't pay his bills. Gardner dreams of performing onstage. But it's starting to look like that's a dream he'll never realize. His mother, Libba (Phylicia Rashad), wants him to accept an offered permanent position teaching and give up on pursuing jazz as a career. Jamie Foxx voices Joe Gardner in Soul. Photo Credit: Disney/Pixar Just as he's losing hope, a call from Curley (Questlove), a former student leads to an unexpected audition. Gardner secures a spot playing with renown jazz musician Dorothea Williams (Angela Bassett). It's his chance to play at the world-famous Half Note jazz club. On the cusp of realizing his dream, he rushes towards home. One moment of inattention leads to an accident that jettisons him out of his body and on his way to the Great Beyond. Gardner comes to in his spirit form and, upon realizing he's no longer among the living, refuses to accept his fate. Refusing to Give Up and Discovering Your Spark The meat of this film encompasses Gardner's attempt to avoid going into the Great Beyond. The visuals for the hereafter, by the way, are startling and more than a touch mesmerizing. The blend of a soft color palette and sharp angles creates a stark contrast to an Earth pulsing with life in such bold color it's almost tangible. Rachel House voices Terry in Soul. Photo Credit: Disney/Pixar Gardner's escape efforts land him as accidental mentor to a seemingly cynical 22 (Tina Fey), an unborn soul, in the Great Before. As 22's latest mentor, it's Gardner's job to help them discover their spark and earn their pass to a life on Earth. From this point on, expect hilarity, tear-jerking moments, and pithy banter. Shortcut Back to Earth Gardner just knows his reason for living is jazz. It's hard for him to see his life from any other perspective. Until he's forced to. Inspiring 22 to want to have a life proves a daunting task. But guiding the reluctant soul to their own "spark" is secondary. It only matters as a means to get him a pass back to Earth in time for his gig. Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey voice Joe Gardner and 22 in Soul. Photo Credit: Disney/Pixar And this is where Soul really finds its footing (and will lose a bit of ground with some). Watching as this pair blunder their way through life's turns, is both hilarious and ironically enlightening. Throughout, a non-corporeal Joe is still distinctly himself. He's also still self-involved in a way that's well past obsessive. The bedrock conviction that jazz is his life blinds him to the fact he's not really been living. A never-been-born 22's convinced they've seen enough of life to skip it altogether. What each discovers, about themselves, and each other, along the way highlights how very easy it is to miss the point of it all. Revelations occur naturally in this world through secondary characters that work to build a version of life in New York that practically screams the creators love at every turn. Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey's chemistry makes for a captivating duo navigating the highs and lows of Gardner's life. The secondary characters are also well developed story essentials that add their own flavor and color to the action.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, dear listeners! The Cinematic Schematic podcast is here with a special bonus episode reviewing Disney Pixar's new movie releasing directly on Disney+ on Christmas Day, Soul. To meet the special occasion, we are joined by my 2020 COVID-pandemic partner in crime, the Video Peach, Lauren Weingart. Tune in to hear our reactions and analysis of one of this year's biggest holiday releases, being released exclusively via Disney's streaming platform. Longtime fans of Pixar may remember the Soul co-writer/director Pete Docter‘s past films with the studio including Monsters Inc., Up, and Inside Out–their cream of the crop. If 2015's Inside Out was Docter's exploration of human emotion, Soul is his examination of human spirituality. Where does inspiration originate? What's the special energy that gets individuals motivated and excited to take on each and every day? How do purpose and fulfillment work together in the human psyche to create happiness and a sense of belonging? These are just a few of the questions this film considers through its highly creative and hugely ambitious story. Don't let the deep and larger than life ideas and themes concern you, Soul is a highly entertaining film for the whole family. One of the standouts of this year's BFI London Film Festival -- which runs until this Sunday -- was the UK premiere of Soul, the latest slice of dizzying and dazzling Disney/Pixar brilliance from director Pete Docter. In this very special interview episode, Chris Hewitt Zooms into a chat with Docter and his co-writer/director, Kemp Powers, and producer Dana Murray for a wide-ranging chat about the inspirations behind the film, the secret fears that drive them as artists, the recent announcement of its debut on Disney+ this Christmas Day, casting Graham Norton, and much, much more. It's a funny and frank chat, and apart from brief talk of one deleted joke, it's spoiler-free. So, even if you haven't seen Soul yet, come on in. The podwater's lovely. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.07.01.180919v1?rss=1 Authors: Schwaller, F., Begay, V., Garcia, G., Taberner, F., Moshourab, R., McDonald, B., Docter, T., Kuehnemund, J., Ojeda-Alonso, J., Paricio-Montesinos, R., Lechner, S. G., Poulet, J. F., Millan, J., Lewin, G. R. Abstract: Fingertip mechanoreceptors comprise sensory neuron endings together with specialized skin cells that form the end-organ. Exquisitely sensitive vibration-sensing neurons are associated with Meissner's corpuscles and Pacinian corpuscles. Such end-organ structures have been recognized for more than 160 years, but their exact functions have remained a matter of speculation. Here we examined the role of USH2A in touch sensation in humans and mice. The USH2A gene encodes a transmembrane protein with a very large extracellular domain. Pathogenic USH2A mutations cause Usher syndrome associated with hearing loss and visual impairment2. We show that patients with biallelic pathogenic USH2A mutations also have profound impairments in vibrotactile touch perception. Similarly, mice lacking the USH2A protein showed severe deficits in a forepaw vibrotactile discrimination task. Forepaw rapidly-adapting mechanoreceptors (RAMs) recorded from Ush2a-/- mice innervating Meissner's corpuscles showed profound reductions in their vibration sensitivity. However, the USH2A protein was not expressed in sensory neurons, but was found in specialized terminal Schwann cells in Meissner's corpuscles. Loss of this large extracellular tether-like protein in corpuscular end-organs innervated by RAMs was sufficient to reduce the vibration sensitivity of mechanoreceptors. Thus, USH2A expressed in corpuscular end-organs associated with vibration sensing is required to properly perceive vibration. We propose that cells within the corpuscle present a tether-like protein that may link to mechanosensitive channels in sensory endings to facilitate small amplitude vibration detection essential for the perception of fine textured surfaces. Framing is a way of understanding and communicating about a particular issue. As registrars, we operate in a highly complex world of varying demands. Organizational frameworks can assist us in understanding our various challenges, and organizing our thoughts and approaches to develop plans of action and solutions. Casey Bullock, Ph.D., Executive Director and University Registrar at Weber State joins the podcast to discuss the four main organizational frames and about how expanding our knowledge of different theories and frameworks makes us better registrars and better leaders. Key Takeaways: Bolman and Deal posit four key organizational frames: Structural, Human Resources, Political, and Symbolic; these frames can assist us in understanding organizational issues and help us to develop appropriate solutions. Each of us probably already incorporate these frames into the way we approach a problem, but a more intentional approach that encompasses aspects of each frame would be beneficial; using a worksheet to practice addressing each frame is a good way to get started. Leadership styles are linked to the frames, and should be adjusted appropriately. The greater the number of theories and perspectives that can be brought to bear on a situation, the greater specificity in the contours (see also: if you mush your face into one pin it won’t look like your face, but if you mush your face into a bunch of pins it looks more like your face).References and Additional Reading:Bolman, L. On this week's feature discussion show, we're diving deep for an in-depth look at Disney- Pixar's 2015 emotional film "Inside Out". The star-studded cast featuring Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, and more isn't the only thing that makes this film special. The idea for a story about a young girl growing up with a complex range of emotions living inside of her head as a colorful cast of characters was actually one that Director Pete Docter had years before the film was ever made, and it came to him based on a real life experience with his own 9 year old daughter, Ellie. Together, we'll look at the story behind the film and what makes "Inside Out" a film that, in my opinion, deserves a spot right alongside Disney classics like "Pinocchio"and "Robin Hood" and Pixar classics like "Finding Nemo" and Monsters Inc."
