Reality-News-Alarm!
Hør mere i episoden.

The biggest favourite since Rafael Nadal in 2009, Jannik Sinner lost in a shocking comeback effort by Juan Manuel Cerundolo only in the second round. The details of this match you already know. But this loss will remain in the history books, and the complete absence of a serious second best player, with Carlos Alcaraz sidelined by a wrist injury, means that whoever wins, we will always note the context of the utterly unexpected Sinner ousting, and that so early in the tournament. It's not an asterisk, though: it's more so a triggering event to one of the most chaotic Grand Slam tournaments of all time, with records being broken on time on court and five-set matches played. The tournament, which started in sleepy fashion and with Jannik Sinner's name half written in the trophy, became a free-for-all bloodbath where anyone suddenly saw themselves as the winner.Great entertainment all around, as Alexander Zverev lurks in the shadows, quietly and effectively making his way to a potential first major title, now without the impenetrable barrier of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinnner. Læn jer tilbage og nyd tre timer i fremragende selskab. Rigtig god fornøjelse! Med venlig hilsen, Casper, Jannik & Janus
Jannik Hansen joins Jamie Dodd and Randip Janda to discuss Manny Malhotra's promotion to head coach, why his work ethic, preparation and ability to delegate made him a natural fit for the job, and the unique challenge that could arise if the Canucks draft his son, Caleb. Jannik also weighs in on the transition from coaching in the AHL to the NHL and previews the Stanley Cup Final. Later, Kevin Woodley shares why the Canucks finally feel like an organization with a clear plan, how Ryan Johnson's development-focused philosophy could translate to the NHL level, the importance of alignment throughout the organization, and what Vancouver should look for when building out its coaching staff. Plus, the guys react to Johnson's comments on naming the next captain, his conversations with Elias Pettersson, and the latest updates surrounding the NHL All-Star Game format. Since Alcaraz announced he'd miss the remainder of the clay season, it was obvious: Jannik Sinner would be utterly unchallenged to win Madrid, Rome, and Roland Garros. It has gone pretty much as expected from him. Only surprise was losing a set to Medvedev. Other than that, it almost seems disingenuous to say there's any doubt Sinner will sweep the Clay Slam, just like Rafael Nadal did in 2010, the only player to do so.As we close the Masters events on clay, there are some interesting stories still to follow, including Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Jodar. But these will all be left as side quests to Sinner's iron fist domination over the ATP Tour.It seems only a miracle will stop him - and that has now extended itself until Wimbledon, now that Alcaraz has shocked the world one more time by announcing his withdrawal.Favourite this podcast if you like our work :)SUBSCRIBE to the YouTube channel!Follow TENNIS AND BAGELS!Twitter/X: https://x.com/TennisAndBAGELSAndre:Twitter/X - https://x.com/RolembergAndreBlueSky Social: https://bsky.app/profile/andrerolemberg.bsky.socialVansh: https://x.com/vanshv2kOwen (BlueSky Social): https://bsky.app/profile/owensports.bsky.socialSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/tennis-and-bagels. Ben and Tumaini get back together at their kitchen table in Paris, discussing events of Rome, where the biggest story was Jannik Sinner making ATP history. We discuss the enormity of Jannik Sinner having won all nine Masters 1000 events, and how the ATP's term for it is deeply suboptimal. It's not the most suspenseful tour right now, but it's impressive. We also discuss the far more unpredictable women's field, including champion Elina Svitolina as well as Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, Sorana Cirstea, and more. We also discuss boycott talk (we don't think it's plausible but it's still notable), and the Italian Federation's stated goal of making Rome into the official "Fifth Slam." Thank you for listening! Elina Svitolina wins her third Rome title with her most impressive run yet, while Jannik Sinner completes his box set of Masters titles and sets all sorts of records at the tiny age of 24. Daniil Medvedev tried his best to derail Sinner, and Casper went with a similar playbook – we shall see if prevailing through that rough semifinal will fuel Jannik further or give the other guys some hope (or both!). Darderi made a huge breakthrough on home soil, while That Guy crashed out in Tennis Channel's IG replies (sad). Meanwhile, Carlos is on injury break and they're still slutting him out in Vanity Fair. Jannik Sinner extends his Masters series win streak and his utter dominance over That Guy, while Marta Kostyuk back handsprings through her unbeaten clay season, grabbing her biggest career title over a bereft Mirra Andreeva. Now in Rome, the top players are demanding a fairer prize money split and genuine player consultation with Slams; several top players even endorsed a boycott if they can't make progress, an utterance that would have been unheard of even a few years ago. Zverev once again reaches the later stages of a tournament, and is once again utterly incapable of making a match out it against Sinner. As Jannik Sinner continues to sweep every Masters 1000 of the year virtually unchallenged, the question is beginning to get loud online: is the ATP Tour boring? Some might even start saying that Sinner himself is the problem.Well, is he?Short answer is no. But it's probably more complicated if you're a neutral tennis fan. Sinner just isn't the same type of player or person that Federer was, or that Djokovic is. He is introverted, he is efficient, and all that he does is his job: winning. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But, combining Sinner's ruthless tennis, his introverted demeanor, and the fact that the entirety of the ATP minus Carlos Alcaraz simply has no idea how to even begin to win sets against him, it turns the tour into something rather uneventful. If you are a Sinner fan, that's awesome. Your fave is winning and you're happy when you turn off the tv. If you aren't, you shouldn't blame Sinner. You should question: why the heck isn't anyone else standing up against him?I love seeing records getting broken. But I love a good tennis match with a lot of tension and high stakes tournaments even more. I hope we get that back soon.SUBSCRIBE to the YouTube channel!Follow TENNIS AND BAGELS!Twitter/X: https://x.com/TennisAndBAGELSAndre:Twitter/X - https://x.com/RolembergAndreBlueSky Social: https://bsky.app/profile/andrerolemberg.bsky.socialVansh: https://x.com/vanshv2kOwen (BlueSky Social): https://bsky.app/profile/owensports.bsky.socialFavourite this podcast if you like our work :)SUBSCRIBE to the YouTube channel!Follow TENNIS AND BAGELS!Twitter/X: https://x.com/TennisAndBAGELSAndre:Twitter/X - https://x.com/RolembergAndreBlueSky Social: https://bsky.app/profile/andrerolemberg.bsky.socialVansh: https://x.com/vanshv2kOwen (BlueSky Social): https://bsky.app/profile/owensports.bsky.socialSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/tennis-and-bagels. Jill Craybas returns to the podcast to recap another eventful tournament at the Madrid Masters, where Marta Kostyuk and Jannik Sinner reigned supreme. The broadcaster also dissects Sinner's historic run of five straight Masters Titles, and points out the areas of his game and makeup that enable the Italian to dominate the field.

I chat with Jannik Kaiser about regenerative evaluation, an approach that asks how evaluation itself can contribute to flourishing. We discussed Jannik's background in evaluation and what led him to regenerative evaluation, how and why the approach was developed, what regenerative evaluation is and an example of regenerative evaluation in practice, and more. "Too often, evaluation is experienced as a "tax" on doing good: an extractive exercise where we mine data from communities to feed upward reporting structures. It reinforces a power dynamic where the funder holds the yardstick and the community bears the burden of proof. We count the fruits while depleting the soil. But I believe - and have witnessed first hand - that evaluation can be a source of vitality and justice, not just accountability." - Regenerative Evaluation Living Paper: Influences, Pathways, & Practices Resources Introduction to the Regenerative Evaluation Living Paper Regenerative Evaluation Living Paper: Influences, Pathways, & Practices Impact Garden M&E in Complexity: Presenting a methodology for making credible claims Capacity Compass Regenerative Evaluation Community of Practice About Jannik Kaiser Jannik Kaiser is the Co-founder and CEO of Unity Effect, where he leads the area of Regenerative Measurement and Evaluation. As the main editor of the Regenerative Evaluation Living Paper, Jannik has dedicated his career to bridging complexity science with participatory practice. He advocates for transforming evaluation from a compliance-driven reporting requirement into a regenerative intervention in itself: one that gives more energy than it takes and actively shifts institutional power. His work encompasses a broad spectrum of contributions, ranging from advising global organizations such as the ILO and UN agencies, to developing open-source frameworks such as the Impact Garden, Capacity Compass, and Methodology for Credible Claims in Complexity, to empower purpose-driven organizations worldwide. Want to be featured on the next Q&Andy? Send us a video on our socials or email us at askandy@servedmediagroup.com Andy Roddick dives into clay season as the ATP and WTA tours shift to the dirt, breaking down why tennis surfaces play so differently—from American green clay to Roland Garros red clay. He explains why American men have struggled on clay, what Ben Shelton must adjust to contend, and how players like Taylor Fritz should manage injuries during this stretch. The episode also features French Open predictions, tactical insights into clay-court tennis, and a chaotic new “Random Question” segment where Andy debates which ATP players he'd least want to fight.
Indian Wells saw two new champs settling old scores – Sabalenka winning her first and upending a worrying finals trend vs. Rybakina, and Sinner flying under the radar to grab the title over the more headline-grabbing Medvedev. Daniil has managed to refashion his game without losing the old antics, including asking for (and getting) a confounding hindrance call – and no, I don't feel bad for Jack.
