Character in Star Trek: Voyager
POPULARITY
Fortsetzung folgt in zwei Wochen.
SIMPLY THE BEST? Don't sleep on Star Trek: Prodigy, which manages to capture the spirit and storytelling of the most popular Trek and aim it at kids while also being highly entertaining for adults -- especially a crusty old Star Trek fan like Bryan. He's not the only fan enchanted by the series, though. Charlynn & Marina from Mission Log: Prodigy and YouTubers Steve Shives and Jessie Gender come aboard to decide which of the show's 40 episodes (and counting?) are among its very best. Una McCormack's The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway. During the seven seasons of Star Trek: Voyager, we got to know Kathryn Janeway very well. We knew who she was like, a little bit about her history before Voyager and how she was a strong and capable starship commander. But in all that time, have we heard about her background before Voyager, in her own words? In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which marks the fifth part of the podcast's celebration of Star Trek: Voyager's thirtieth anniversary, Wes reviews Una McCormack's 2020 novel The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway, which was published during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and was published to celebrate the silver anniversary of the television series. To bring the episode an extra flair, Wes interviews Una herself! She talks about the novel and her Star Trek literary journey. John De Lancie has brought the legendary Q to life for almost 40 years, and on his birthday, we look back at one of Jean-Luc Picard and Kathryn Janeway's greatest foils...and dare we say, friends? From the very first meeting in "Encounter at Farpoint" to the Q Civil War in "The Q and the Grey." We'll go on a journey through the continuum from TNG to Voyager, and possibly make a stop at DS9.Plus your thoughts on Q in the mailbag section and so much more on episode 227 of Strange New Pod.Send us a textSupport the show
In this episode of Displaced in Space, Angelina and Sam discuss "Think Tank," Season 5, episode 20 of Star Trek: Voyager! This week, it's Kathryn Janeway versus George Costanza, and the stakes couldn't be higher (because the stakes are Seven of Nine, of course)! Whoever's first instinct was to give Jason Alexander that wig should have automatically done the opposite. And we learn the ultimate fate of the Vidians!
Kathryn Janeway. The lead character of Star Trek: Voyager did a lot for her crew in seven years. To trying to merge the Starfleet and Maquis crews after being stranded in the Delta Quadrant, to try and doing several alliances with the Kazon and the Borg, Kathryn Janeway has done it all. Her experiences as trying to hold the ideals of the Federation made her the perfect candidate for the Emergency Training Hologram version for the Starship Protostar in Star Trek: Prodigy. In this episode of Twin Cities Trekkies, which continues the 30 Years of Star Trek: Voyager Celebration, Wes has decided to rebroadcast Episode 35 (at least, the discussion part) to showcase the fourth main character analysis that he and Kenzie did back on January 26, 2022. Any feedback you have can be submitted to the Facebook page (facebook.com/tctrekkiespod), or by emailing them at tctrekkiespodcast@gmail.com. When it doubt, Anika and Liz seek advice from a whale. Yes, we're talking about the Star Trek: Prodigy episode "Observer's Paradox"! Kathryn Janeway pours a shot of espresso into a larger cup of coffee and then gives it to a teenager; she should not be allowed to care for children Murf definitely knows everything about the USS Discovery After thirty years, Chakotay is finally linked to a real Indigenous nation: the Nicarao people of Central America If we're not meant to be shipping Janeway/Chakotay, then why does this episode exist? The Antimatter Pod Shipping News: Anika has a terrible new OTP We have questions about the Doctor's holonovels, but ALSO romance novels are an important force for marginalised groups getting their work in front of audiences When the adult in the room is a whale
After Voyager is hurled into the Delta Quadrant and the Caretaker's array is destroyed, Janeway decides to start podcasting to unwind. Anika and Liz fire up the ancestry.com subscription and do a deep dive into an episode which does a deep dive into Kathryn Janeway's heritage. Yes, we're watching "11:59", an episode which has aged badly but maybe wasn't ever good to start with. This is ostensibly the sort of filler episode that people now say they want more of, but it mistakes trivia for character development "Small town business owner who hates progress and reveres the past" is a type that hits different in 2024 Henry Janeway voted for Mike Pence Why are so many (white) starship captains from small town America? "11:59" is not interested in exploring the forces that would drive a woman out of STEM and into homelessness Has any problem in the history of humanity ever been solved by a benevolent corporation? At 26:06, Liz says "dystopian" when she means "utopian", please be assured this will keep her up at night for the foreseeable future We debate the benefits and otherwise of genealogy (content warning: from 34:03 to 34:27, this includes revelations about incest)

KILL ALL MEN? That's the tantalizing hook for the latest episode in our Trials of Season Two theme month and guest co-hosts Kat Spada of Feminist Frequency Radio and artist Ethan Harper can't help but think what might've been. Instead, we get an episode about a member of the Q Continuum who wants to die. The only thing stopping him is another member of the Q Continuum -- John de Lancie! Can he convince Captain Janeway to rule in his favor and sentence a wayward Q to an eternity trapped inside a comet or will she grant Death Wish Q asylum so that he can become mortal as a means of ending his own life. Oh -- and there's a surprise cameo by William T. Riker. The grades start at (25:33). Check out Kat's Voyager-themed manicure here. If you're enjoying the show, consider rating and reviewing us. It's Valentine's Day! Or close enough. Anika and Liz settle in with chocolate, champagne and a list of their favourite OTPs. And OT3s. And … look, we have so many ships, we're practically a navy. Picard/Crusher: our first OTP Gwyn/Dal: #OTPCatboots Fifty years and all it took to make Anika ship Spock/Chapel was letting Christine have a personality Anika's favourite Star Trek rarepair will SHOCK and SCANDALIZE Janeway/Kashyk shippers: there were dozens of us in 2000! Has Janeway/Paris become a rarepair? That's definitely not going to stop Anika from shipping it! (We respectfully disagree with this essay.) Janeway/Chakotay: Liz knows she shouldn't ship it but she cannot stop "Speaking of war crimes…" (Or, how to segue into Cornwell/Lorca) Anika has a LOT of femslash OTPs Janeway/Seven has gotten more complicated now we're adults Sometimes, shipping problematic things is … good Vulcan polyamory is logical Big shout out to the Captain Georgiou/Commodore Paris shippers Please go and read Anika's Palpatine-as-the-sex-candle-ghost fic, it's so much better than the premise deserved We can ship Kathryn Janeway with everyone, and we will ship Kathryn Janeway with everyone (We will also ship Katrina Cornwell with most people and we are not sorry)
