 Joe discusses the problem with automatically forwarding mail in the era of DMARC and walks through an explanation from Kerio: - You have a hosted Kerio email account, with a domain of clientname.com - You have a forwarding rule configured to forward all email addressed to name@clientname.com to clientaddress@gmail.com - Gmail enforces a DMARC policy - Gmail sees the forwarded email as if they were coming from the original sender, e.g.: Facebook, PayPal, etc. etc. - But the emails are NOT coming from the mailservers of those senders (e.g. mail.facebook.com, mail.paypal.com – fake examples), they are actually coming from the Kerio mail server (mail.itekmail.com) - This triggers a failure of compliance with DMARC, since the sending mail server doesn't match the sending address. - Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about this, other than use the main account (name@clientname.com), setting it up on a mail client of your choice, to avoid this problem. - Joe and Jerry discuss Eero, and Joe explains the challenge of configuring an alternate subnet: - Eero ad automatically assigned 192.168.7.1 subnet - AV guy had static IPs manually assigned to two IR controllers - had to use Advanced settings to hangs subnet to 10.0.0.0 (10.0.1.0 not an option; annoying because that's a common Apple one so this must be a common issue) - tried to adjust starting IP to 10.0.0.1, subnet to 255.255.0.0, and ending IP to 10.0.1.254; didn't work - after updating, allowed me to select 10.0.0.0 range and change it to 10.0.1.0 range, which worked

Turkana Sessions is a 10-track, live recorded music project by Content House Kenya. The project offers the listener a journey through the astounding culture and landscape of Turkana. It was recorded by the breathtaking shores of Lake Turkana, the pyramid hills of Eliye and the grass fields of Kerio. The project features Jackson Nakuwa, Mourine Apuu, Jackson Ekori, Elizabeth Korikel and Eddie Grey. Turkana Sessions is the third project from the Artists Xchange which brings together artists from Turkana and Nairobi. It follows the series The Flyest Wedding in Africa and Floating Flying. The three are part of the feature documentary - Turkana: Race for Resources set to be released in 2023. Jackson Nakuwa is one of Turkana's most celebrated and respected musicians. An expressive storyteller who makes music out of his unique yet, grounded perspective. Since his inception into the scene in 2006, he has released over 14 albums covering social issues within Turkana and personal matters such as his undying love for Regina. Mourine Apuu is a proud talented creative, entrepreneur and web developer. Her music draws its influence from tradition and culture shared by the Turkana people coupled with her drive to improve their livelihoods. By using the tools, skills and opportunities availed to her community, Mourine aims at changing the perspectives of both her community and that of outsiders. Veit Kessen erzählt übers Buschfliegen in Kenia und warum dort das Gleitschirmfliegen fast verboten worden wäre. +++ Kenia war viele Jahre lang ein hoch gehandeltes Winterflugziel der Gleitschirmszene. Stets im Januar reisten etliche streckenhungrige Piloten aus Europa ins sogenannte Kerio Valley, um dort an der fast 100 Kilometer langen Felskante im Powersoaring-Modus persönliche oder gar global gültige Bestleistungen zu fliegen. Gregory Knudson beispielsweise stellte dort am 19. Januar 2014 den noch immer gültigen Geschwindigkeitsweltrekord für einen Hin-und-Rückflug über 200 Kilometer auf – mit einer Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von über 36 km/h. In den vergangenen Jahren ist es aber ruhig geworden. Flüge aus Kenia tauchen kaum noch in den XC-Datenbanken auf. Schuld daran sind unter anderem drei Todesfälle, die sich 2018 in Kerio ereigneten. Sie wirkten offenbar für viele Piloten abschreckend, waren allerdings auch für die lokale Gleitschirmszene in Kenia ein Wendepunkt. Denn mit einem Mal waren die Gleitschirmflieger in den Medien, wenn auch mit schlechten Nachrichten. Und damit auf dem Radar der kenianischen Luftfahrtbehörde. Die war dann drauf auf dran, das aus ihrer Sicht illegale Treiben der Paragleiter zu verbieten. Einer der viel dafür getan hat, dass es dann doch anders kam, ist Veit Kessen. Der 49-jährige mit deutsch-indischen Wurzeln war eine der treibenden Kräfte hinter der Gründung des kenianischen Gleitschirmverbandes. Heute ist er dessen Vorsitzender. In dieser Episode Nummer 77 von Podz-Glidz erzählt Veit von dieser Zeit. Den wilden Jahren Kerios, dem jähen Ende und dem Bestreben, das Paragleiten in Kenia seither in etwas geordnetere Bahnen zu lenken. Dennoch ist und bleibt das Gleitschirmfliegen in Kenia ein Abenteuer, mit ganz eigenen Risiken. Wer absäuft, muss schon mal befürchten, direkt neben einem Elefanten zu landen. Veit ist das schon passiert. So in saying that it was great to have Simon Blake back on the show to talk about the Kerio Valley Enduro and how mountain biking in Kenya, East Africa has developed over the last 9 to 10 months. Simon was first on the show back in episode number Twenty (Listen Here) talking about his work in East Africa and how mountain biking was starting to get popular with XC and Enduro events starting to pop up all over Kenya, with his guidance and help of course. Simon is never at home. He is always on the road promoting MTB and Road Racing development within Kenya, so he is a hard man to grab for an hour. Simon has been doing an awesome job building the MTB community and letting people see the advantages that such a healthy and fun past time can have not only on yourself but also your local community. Wir beschäftigten uns beim letzten Mac-User-Treffen mit Kerio Connect, einer Lösung für kleine Unternehmen, um verschiedene Geräte und Plattformen zu verbinden. Das nächste Treffen ist am 10. Oktober, da der 3.10. Feiertag ist.

Wir überspringen das Treffen im Juli, das sich mit dem Publisher von Adobe eher an die professionellen Mac-User gerichtet hat. Im August sind wir dann kurz auf Kerio Workspace eingegangen, was wir im September etwas ausführlicher behandeln werden. Das große Thema war dann "Sicherheit am Mac". Hier geben wir einige Tipps von Verschlüsselung bis zu Passwörtern und es lohnt sich auch der Blick auf die MUG Mannheim Seite - Intern. Mehr zur MUG Mannheim gibt es auf unserer Homepage.
