Change is hard. It's messy, uncomfortable, and downright complicated. But what if you could turn all that chaos into clarity? In this final part of our Change Series, Kylie Butler is back with something truly special: the Game Changers Program. This isn't just another take on change management. Kylie reveals a fresh, human-centered approach that digs deep into why people resist change, how to truly engage your team (even the quiet ones), and why disengagement might actually be your biggest untapped resource.
Kylie Butler was previously the Managing Director of Christian Coaching Institute (CCI) prior to CCI combining with Arrow in 2022. She is now the Executive Leaders Program Director and Coaching Director for Arrow Australia. And she is an Enneagram Three! For those who are unfamiliar with Enneagram, it's a tool with an ancient background that helps you understand your core motivations in life and leadership. 'Threes' make great leaders! They love achievement, loving being seen as successful and get lots of stuff done. Who wouldn't want to be a 'Three'? (It's possible that I am one too...)But there is a downside. 'Threes' are image conscious people, and Kylie speaks very honestly about the experience of having people who worked closely with her say, "We don't really know who you are?"Ironically, Kylie is incredibly vulnerable about her struggle to be a person of vulnerability. She outlines her journey from self-awareness to changed behaviour, and the conscious choice she has made to put down the mask and be a person of honesty and self-disclosure.By the way, we mention a great book by Henry Cloud called Integrity, which is used as a foundational text in the Arrow Leadership programme. If you would like to talk to Ed about Pastoral Supervision, visit the website hereOr you can email Ed at edward@generationleadership.com.auI'd love if you would rate and review this podcastAnd thanks for being on the journey on The Blunder Bus!

In this edition of The Way Out Recovery Coach, Entrepreneur, and person in long term recovery Kylie Butler comes to us from Bali to share her journey to and through recovery to this point with a sagacity and intuitiveness that is at once unmistakably authentic and enlightening. Her knock-down drag-out bout with alcoholism is rife with the hallmarks of a classic battle with addiction, not the least of which was trauma and a heavy dose of denial, which as most of us know, doesn't FEEL like denial when we're in it. Her recovery journey is rooted in the 12-Steps infused with a distinctly Buddhist set of principles and practices which very much focuses on living in a way that centers and prioritizes acceptance and letting go of that which causes us to struggle. For Kylie, recovery was first a process of addition by subtraction. Eliminate the alcohol, and then begin practices that allow her to continue to let go of the thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors that cause suffering while at the same time increasing serenity and over all well being in mind, body, and spirit. Kylie and I dig into her whale of a recovery story, talk some serious spiritual and recovery truth and reveal how her recovery practices evolved into an entire practice of recovery and life coaching where she now helps others create a meaningful life by design so listen up. Find Your Dream Job: Insider Tips for Finding Work, Advancing your Career, and Loving Your Job
Understanding who you are, the way you work, and your beliefs are all key to finding the right career for you. Core competencies and skills are important, but truly understanding what lights you up, and what you love doing, can propel you into your next career. Career coach Kylie Butler says it can also be helpful to look into your limiting beliefs and what may be holding you back. Practical Steps to Understanding Yourself Take the time to ask yourself these personal profiling questions. What do I enjoy? When am I in ‘flow’? What were my unique gifts as a child? Do personality assessment tests. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. DiSC profile assessment. Review your CV or resume with someone you respect Consider what excuses you have been making around reaching your goals. But before you leap onto the job boards you should create and develop a success mindset. It can mean the difference in finding the right job for you and finding it quickly. Key Tools to Help You Mentally Prepare for Success Take time to get a handle on your thinking. Is your mindset focused on success? Visualization — Imagine a situation in which you are successful. Affirmations — Daily mantras can help to keep you motivated. Meditation — To keep yourself calm and composed. Socialize — Hang out with people who inspire and energize you. Once you have captured a good understanding of who you are, and feel mentally prepared for success, you need to do research about the industry you want to work in, using niche industry websites and LinkedIn.
