As we've explored a lot on the podcast with the women and folks who have shared their own menopause stories, it can be a disorientating, deeply challenging, and very messy process. And today we're hearing from a woman who is generously sharing right from the messy middle of her menopause journey. Ruby May is a coach, facilitator and community weaver, passionate about midwifing a culture grounded in the wisdom of the body. She is also a Red School Menstruality Leadership Programme graduate and is the community catalyst of the Hive graduate community at Red School. Most recently she has been co-creating Sabia, a platform with a vision of menopause as a transformative life stage. This conversation was born from my listening partnership with Ruby, where she shared a voice note which powerfully illuminated the many challenges of her menopause initiatory process, including the multiple emotional descents she's taken, the rock bottom places she has hit, (particularly when she has had very little sleep) and how menopause has shone a light on all the parts of her that still want to be rescued, and validated. We explore:The importance of having allies who mirror your goodness back to you, even in your darkest times, without having to sugarcoat anything or find the silver lining. How her menopause doula aka fairy godmother, Kate Codrington (a fellow Menstruality Leadership Programme graduate) is following the pulse of her journey alongside her, and how her ‘go-to-crone' - a rabble-rousing rebellious healer - is offering her acute support in the moment. How Ruby is navigating her own journey around whether to get HRT, and what do we do when we've created a life that we no longer have capacity to live out? ---Receive our free video training: Love Your Cycle, Discover the Power of Menstrual Cycle Awareness to Revolutionise Your Life - www.redschool.net/love---The Menstruality Podcast is hosted by Red School. Recovery from disordered eating doesn't end the moment bingeing stops — that's often where an entirely new phase begins. In this episode, Stef and Sarah unpack the often-overlooked “middle ground” of recovery — the stage where the chaos of bingeing has quieted, but true peace with food still feels out of reach. Stef describes this phase as a kind of emotional limbo: the urgency is gone, but now there's loneliness, uncertainty, and a disorienting sense of now what?. Sarah shares how she moved from bingeing to occasional overeating, and how easy it was to slip into black-and-white thinking without recognizing the real progress she'd already made. Together, they explore: what this “no man's land” actually looks and feels like why it's normal to struggle more with self-image once the bingeing stops the importance of community, language, and support during this time how to build trust in yourself before everything feels fully healed why this middle stage isn't failure — it's where real integration happens If you're past the acute phase but still don't feel “recovered,” this conversation will help you name where you are, trust the process, and move forward with more clarity (and less self-judgment). About Andrea Liebross:Andrea is the go-to expert for high-achieving women entrepreneurs. She helps bold, ambitious women shift from thinking small and feeling overwhelmed to gaining the clarity, confidence, and freedom they crave—in both business and life. As a strategic business coach and life balance architect, Andrea believes the secret sauce to achieving big results comes down to two critical ingredients: solid systems and a powerful, expansive mindset. Andrea is an accomplished speaker, the author of the bestselling She Thinks Big: The Entrepreneurial Woman's Guide to Moving Past the Messy Middle and Into the Extraordinary, and the host of the She Thinks Big Podcast. In this episode, Dean Newlund and Andrea Liebross discuss:Evolving expectations of modern CEOs and their mindset shiftsEmotional alignment and the role of joy in leadership effectivenessTransitioning from operational execution to strategic visionEmbracing uncertainty as a necessary element of growthThe influence of clarity, belief, and intentionality in decision-making Key Takeaways:Andrea Liebross presents the TRUST framework as a mindset tool for big thinkers, encouraging leaders to explore their thought options, identify the real problem, embrace uncertainty, secure the right support, and move from passive learning to taking massive action. Many small business CEOs experience burnout from juggling every role, making it critical to shift into true leadership through intentional delegation and alignment with both business goals and personal values.Long-term leadership success comes from saying unapologetic yeses to opportunities that foster growth and firm noes to distractions, helping leaders conserve their time, energy, and clarity of purpose. When faced with chaos or transition, leaders gain power by creating clarity—separating facts from internal narratives—so they can make grounded decisions driven by belief rather than fear. What do a punk rock lyric and the teachings of Jesus have in common? More than you might think. In this episode, inspired by Frank Turner's raw line from “1933”: “Be suspicious of simple answers, that shit's for fascists (and maybe teenagers)”. We dive headfirst into the beauty and challenge of the messy middle. From the “greatest commandment” conversation in the Gospels to the wisdom of mystics like Teresa of Ávila, Thomas Merton, and Richard Rohr, this is an invitation to live in the tension, embrace complexity, and resist the lure of easy answers. If you've ever felt like life, faith, and God are anything but simple, you're in good company. In this powerful and refreshingly honest episode, Kehla welcomes manifestation coach and speaker Stephanie Zito for a deep-dive into the real, raw, and often misunderstood world of manifestation. What starts as a catch-up between two panelists from a recent speaking event quickly turns into a rich exploration of navigating chaos, karmic cut-offs, and self-leadership during times of upheaval. Stephanie shares her own transformative journey—how ignoring red flags, moving for a relationship, and hitting a personal low led to a complete life recalibration that launched her into her dream career, location, and partnership. The conversation dives into the nuances of what it really means to be “decided,” how manifestation isn't just about positive vibes or vision boards, and why trusting the process is more powerful than trying to control the outcome. Kehla and Stephanie unpack the energetics of trust, what it looks like to hit perceived ceilings in business and life, and how chaos can be the very catalyst for our next level. Together, they bust myths around being high vibe, address the fears that slow down momentum, and normalize the emotional rollercoaster that comes with manifesting big shifts. Whether you're in a season of messy middle or ready for an energetic upgrade, this episode is a must-listen reminder that manifestation is more about self-awareness, aligned action, and emotional sovereignty than anything else. Send us a textWhat happens when the very traits that once helped you succeed become the prison bars holding you captive? In this raw and revelatory solo episode, Dr. Samantha Harte takes us on a deeply personal journey through her battle with perfectionism—a character trait that drove her to academic excellence, cocaine addiction, marital crisis, and ultimately, profound transformation.Drawing from her recent Harte Conscious Creators event, Dr. Harte vulnerably shares how her need to control everyone and everything manifested when facing failure or uncertainty. From plagiarizing a college paper to preserve her straight-A identity to overdosing on cocaine the very night she was accepted into a doctoral program, she illustrates how perfectionism created an illusion of control while actually destroying her life. The breakthrough came during her marital crisis, five years sober but spiritually broken. Though physically clean from substances, she was still trying to control outcomes and people, particularly her husband. Working the 12 steps with specific focus on her marriage revealed a powerful truth: she had no power over her husband's feelings, potential infidelity, or their relationship's ultimate outcome—but she did have power over her healing, self-talk, and the meaning she gave her experiences.Dr. Harte's most profound insight came when asked if she'd ever made amends to herself. As a perfectionist, the concept was foreign—everything was her fault because that maintained the illusion she could fix it. Learning to forgive herself became the foundation for later forgiving her husband and rebuilding their marriage. Through losing her father and sister, she faced more tests of surrender, ultimately leading to writing her book modernizing the 12 steps for everyone. The gift Dr. Harte offers listeners is the courage to trust the process of imperfection. As she powerfully states: "Everything good, everything magical that has ever happened to me has happened in the messy middle." Her message transforms the 12 steps into universal tools for living, loving, parenting and working with greater authenticity and peace.Want to break free from your own invisible prison? In this episode of The Skeptical Shaman podcast, host Rachel White (of TOTEM Readings), chats with AJ Goodwin-- a TOTEM client and professional realtor and business mentor that has spent the last several months embracing her spiritual and personal growth, living in the "messy middle" of transformation! As a highly-driven, high-performing entrepreneur, AJ spent this Year of the Wood Snake doing the impossible: taking time away from work to completely and totally invest in herself. She's growing hydroponic lettuce, embracing the weird and woo "assignments" in the TOTEM Spiritual Transformation Program, and letting herself luxuriate in the "in between"-- instead of pushing, rushing and grinding to get to the finish line OR, worse yet, deluding herself into thinking she can multitask this sh*t.Spoiler alert: you can't shortcut shamanic transcendence. So, knock that cheat code bullsh*t off;)AJ shares where she felt resistance to her intuition, to the world of Woo, and to even just taking some time away from the grind. Revenue plateaus at $15-20K per month often feel like a cruel joke - you're working harder than ever, yet predictable growth remains elusive. One month you hit $20K, the next you're back at $12K, and no amount of hustling seems to create the consistency you crave. The exhausting cycle of feast or famine leaves you wondering if scaling to $50K months is even possible without burning out completely. The leap from inconsistent $15K months to predictable $50K months requires more than new strategies or working longer hours. In this episode, Eleanor shares five critical shifts that'll take you to consistent $50k months. Get full show notes and more information here: https://safimedia.co/WO58
