Welcome to another inspiring episode of the Women in Leadership Podcast! Today we are joined by the incredible Dr. Christi Diamond, a naturopathic doctor and relationship expert, for a powerful conversation about authenticity, faith, and resilience in both life and business. So many women leaders find themselves struggling to balance the expectations placed upon them - both personally and professionally - while staying true to who they are. Dr. Diamond understands this challenge deeply and shares why trusting yourself is the foundation for living with authenticity. She opens up about the experiences that can cause women to lose that trust and what it takes to rebuild it in a way that empowers both our personal and professional lives. During our conversation, Dr. Diamond also speaks to the role of faith and spirituality in finding strength and clarity through life's challenges. She highlights how a deep spiritual connection can serve as an anchor, providing the guidance and resilience needed to navigate difficult seasons. Another important topic we touch on is how to move beyond setbacks without allowing them to define us. So often, we internalize disappointment and let it shape our identity in limiting ways. Dr. Diamond offers a fresh perspective on resilience, showing how past hardships can be steppingstones rather than stumbling blocks. Whether you are seeking to step more fully into your purpose, build stronger relationships, or cultivate a deeper sense of self-trust, this episode is filled with valuable insights that will leave you feeling encouraged and equipped for the journey ahead. Dr. Christi Diamond also offers healing retreats and sessions for those looking to continue their personal growth. You can learn more about her work by visiting her website at thehealingcoach.com. Thank you for tuning in, and for being part of our incredible community of women leaders. Now, let's get started! Here are the key takeaways: Trust yourself for authenticity: Dr. Christi emphasized that true authenticity starts with trusting ourselves. She shared how reconnecting with our feminine essence can unlock our full potential, allowing us to live an authentic and fulfilling life. Faith & spiritual connection: Faith can be a guiding light in times of uncertainty. Dr. Christi shared how a spiritual connection provides strength and direction, especially when navigating challenges in life and business. Navigate disappointment without being defined by it: It's essential not to let disappointments label us. By focusing on possibilities and reaching for the highest within ourselves, we can rise from setbacks stronger than before. This episode is slightly different, in that I'm replaying an interview I did on KSM Podcast - Growing Business Online with Kristina who is the host of the show. The reason I'm sharing this is if you've listened to any of my previous solo episodes or read any of my articles you would have heard me speak about the importance of sharing your unique and uncopyable story and message - because when you do, no-one can copy your story, because it's not relevant to them - they haven't walked the journey you've worked, plus you may have heard me speak about Markers and Milestones, being the invisible thread that ties your story together with what you do and why you're all to speak about what you speak about with a level of experience that positions you as an authority in your industry. As you know - I'm a Brand, Message and Podcast Strategist - helping coaches who feel like the world's best kept secret go from invisible to influential - THE choice vs just A choice when their dream client is ready to move forward. I do that by helping clients define their distinguishable, uncopyable and irresistible brand, message and podcast. You'll hear me share my story on how I go into podcasting, how I have been able to develop my skills and knowledge over the last 15 years, as well as how and why I know can best support my clients through the accidental successes I had and now teach my clients through my programs. I share the markers and milestones along my journey and why these are so important and why I now continue to teach these in my programs. My hope by sharing this interview with you today is that if you are struggling to stand out from the crowd, if you feel like the world's best kept secret then some of the things I share today can model for you what you want to start getting clear on when it comes to the markers and milestones in your journey that will make you unique and uncopyable for your dream client - you become THE choice vs just A choice when your dream client is ready to move forward. I hope you enjoy the show. Kristina - over to you. Years ago, in my career coaching practice I used to look up to colleagues who had much more experience that I had. Sadly, I believed I needed to have more certifications to build my personal brand as a trusted authority, so I began to study more courses and attend more conferences. It became an obsession. But here's what I learned after hundreds of hours training, more certifications I can count, several awards, and still not feeling good enough... I didn't need MORE of anything. So, in today's show I discuss what I wish I had focused on instead, which would have made all of the difference for myself and for my clients and community. Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #30. This is the last of the ListenerIntoLead series – if you haven't gone through all of them yet, I encourage you to do so. I share all of the things I wish someone had shown me back in 2008 when I started my first co-hosted podcast on how to leverage my podcast to get clients and to build my business. There wasn't anyone around at that time and I had to learn through trial and error and many tens of thousands of dollars. So, I'm sharing what I've learned so you don't have to go through the same frustration I did – you can get the right strategy in place and begin to generate results from your very first episode. Today's tip is nurturing listeners into leads from your podcast – in fact from your very first episode. If you are still in the process of getting your podcast ready to launch, you can use the tactic I'm about to share with you. And, if you already have a podcast yet you haven't been able to generate the results you hoped for – you can use this tactic as well, however you're going to have to do a few more things as part of your overall strategy to make sure it does work for you with your existing podcast. I share more about the 3-part podcast series in my Profitable and Purposeful Podcasting Masterclass at PodcastingWithPurpose.com/ListenerIntoLead - I highly recommend you get access to it if you haven't already as it's jam packed with more information, along with my eBook: Industry Thought Leader: go From Invisible to Influential (and Profitable) with a Podcast. So that's how you nurture listeners into leads from your very first episode, with your special 3-part thought leader podcast series. If you've enjoyed this series and want to know more about how you can work with me – I encourage you to get the Masterclass first. Or you may want to join me on my 90-Day Idea to Launch your Podcast Immersive on www.PodcastingWithPurpose.com/Immersive. Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #29. If you've accessed my Profitable and Purposeful Podcasting Masterclass, you would have heard me talk about the customer journey and how your podcast can play an integral role in nurturing your customers along the customer journey when you have the right strategy and tactic in place. Make sure you listen to tip #30 as I share more about the tactic that will help you begin to nurture listeners into leads. The three stages to the customer journey, is Stage 1 Awareness, Stage 2 Consideration and Stage 3 Decision. Stage 1 – Awareness is when the potential customer is aware they have a problem and they are actively seeking answers. They've now come across your podcast and they are listening to you share your insights. Stage 2 – Consideration is when they have just taken that next step after your call to action - that listener has now become a lead and they are now considering the information you are sharing, they are considering you, they are continuing to build know like and trust, as they continue to consume and engage with the content you are sharing. Then Stage 3, is Decision – when with another call to action, your listener who has become a lead, is now being nurtured along the customer journey to become an enquiry, they are now either booking themselves on a strategy/discovery call waiting to speak to you about how you might be able to help them. Which has all started from your podcast, as you continued to build know, like and trust with your listener, nurturing them from Awareness stage, to Consider stage, right through to Decision stage. Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #28. On tip #7 of this ListenerIntoLead series you would have heard me share: Where do you start when it comes to your podcast? You start with the end in mind. But not just ANY end in mind. But a specific end in mind. Because specificity is key. For instance a goal of: “I want to build visibility and brand awareness with my podcast” is not specific. Nor is, I want to grow my podcast downloads to 1,000 downloads per episode – that's not specific either. Go back and listen to that tip if you want to learn how to be more specific. Another thing I want you to be clear on starting with the end in mind – is thinking about (a) your overall message and where you want to position yourself as a trusted authority and (b) your overall business model and where specifically you want to lead people along your customer journey, so that you can begin to seed and lead people. I'll speak more about the customer journey and your podcast in tip 29. For instance, one of my clients initially wanted to share more about her high level programs, BUT when we looked at her current and former customers we could see that her VIP clients had first begun working in her group coaching programs, which had a lesser investment and from there had become higher level VIP clients. She also wanted to grow her membership program and she realised if she focused first on growing that and seeding and leading into that program, she could begin to nurture her higher level clients from inside her membership program. So, her end in mind would be better focused on building her membership program and seeding and leading that within her call to action, rather than speaking about any of her other programs. So, when it come to your end in mind, think about your current business program pathway and your business model, along with the goals you have for your business? Can you get clear on how best your podcast can support you in achieving those goals? Once you do, you can ensure you have the right strategy in place, the right call to action at the end of your podcast, and the right follow up system that continues to build know like and trust and nurture listeners into leads and ultimately enquiries and paying customers. But that starts with getting clear on the end in mind and the right podcast strategy to support you. I'll see you in the next tip. Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #27. Today's tip is about the importance of creating fans – NOT followers. Because fans will do business with you and will recommend you, whereas followers will not. If we look at the definition of fan in the Cambridge dictionary: “A fan is someone who admires and supports a person, sport, sports team.” Other words associated with fan include: a devotee, an enthusiast, people who are adoring, are avid supporters, are ardent support. Whereas let's look at follower: “someone who is interested in something.” So quite different from a fan. You've heard me share more about the Podcast Positioning Quadrant – and the importance of building a highly engaged and highly niched audience – a community of ideal clients who love everything about what you say, what you stand for, they resonate with your values, your voice and your vision – and they need what you have to offer. Therefore they are fans of your podcast, of you. They admire you and support you. They are devoted to you, your message and brand. Versus someone who is just following you because they are interested in what you have to share. Big difference. Fans will binge listen to every episode. Followers just the ones that are of interest and when they get time. Fans will share your podcast and will engage with you in your community. Followers won't. Fans will eventually do business with you, will recommend you and refer you. Followers won't. So, when it comes to your podcast, get to know and understand your ideal client so well that you create a unique and compelling listener experience so you continue to build a community of highly engaged fans. I'll see you in the next tip. YOUR NEXT STEP: Are you a coach or consultant who is struggling to stand out online? Do you feel unnoticed, unheard, invisible? Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #26. You've heard me say this before in this #ListenerIntoLead Series and I'll say it again. There are NO rules to podcasting other than the rules you set yourself. And, as the CEO of your business, you get to make the rules AND you get to break the rules if you want to, if you find something didn't work as well as you had hoped. Or, because you changed your mind about something. For instance, if you don't have time to create an ongoing podcast – don't. Just like one of my clients, create an ever-green podcast series and continue to leverage that in your content sharing and seed and lead strategy. Don't want to do a long podcast episode? Don't - keep them 5 minutes. Or 10 minutes, or whatever length that you believe best suits your ideal client. Remember, your podcast, your rules – you get to make them and you get to break them. Stop listening to people who tell you your podcast needs to be a certain length, that you need to publish at a certain frequency, or that you need sound effects, and all of the bells and whistles. Remember, your podcast is a way that you can continue to build an audience of your ideal client, it allows you to continue to build know, like and trust with your ideal client, and when your ideal client is ready to move forward – he/she will take that next step, which is something I'll be speaking about in tip in upcoming tips. The only thing I will encourage you to do is make sure you are clear on the goals you want for your podcast (go back to tip 7) and then make sure the rules you set yourself and the strategy you use, best positions you to achieve the goals you want, with your podcast. This is tip #25 Here's another shout out to all of the multi-passionate #entrepreneurs who struggle with defining their ONE THING. Because limiting yourself to just ONE THING seems totally foreign to you. And, life is too short to just focus on ONE THING. You've got diverse interests, you love learning, and having to choose just ONE THING gives you heart palpitations. I get it! Guess what?! You DON'T have to limit yourself to just ONE THING. However, you DO have to change the way you speak about what you do – especially on your podcast. Think of the ONE outcome you can help your client achieve through leveraging your unique blend of knowledge and experience you have to offer. Then create an outcome-focused statement you know your ideal client will notice. ☂️ I call that: Your Umbrella Statement. Here's an example: When I worked in the career industry my statement was: Get Noticed, Hired & Paid What You're Worth. It's what my clients needed help with. I offered resume development, interview coaching, job search coaching etc., which sat under that statement. Now with #businesses I help them: Build their Reach, Reputation (as a trusted authority) and their Revenue, with my expertise in #PersonalBranding, Business and #Podcast strategy. Over to you. Think about the ways you can help people and through combining your expertise what is the outcome you help them achieve and developing this into an overarching statement – Your Umbrella Statement. And then begin sharing that within your podcast. In fact, your Umbrella Statement may just become the tagline of your podcast, or help you refine your podcast name, if you're still in the process of launching your podcast. This is tip #24 Ever heard the saying ‘marketers ruin everything'? EVERY Tom, Dick and Harry (sorry to all of the Tom, Dick and Harry's out there – no offence to you) however just making my point that every sadly unscrupulous marketer under the sun – jumps on the bandwagon overusing something so much – that it can become tarnished. For me the word ‘authentic' is integral. My leading Brand Archetype is Explorer and the Explorer is all about pioneering the discover of our truth. So, words such as unique, individual, authentic are words that express what I stand for, what I help people with – helping them identify what's unique and authentic for them and helping them bring that out into their marketing and content. So, for me Authenticity when it comes to your personal Brand (and my background is in personal branding) is integral. Which is why one of my core personal branding principles is Authenticity is NOT a buzzword – it's paramount. Because the opposite of authenticity is fake, which is why I cringe when I hear other marketers tell their clients – just make up a story. Just fake it. Yuk! You're a change maker and change makers don't fake things, they don't lie. Instead, being authentic means being genuine and being REAL. The real deal! And, that's how you should be on each and every episode of your podcast. Whether you are interviewing guests or doing a solo show on your own. So, over to you. What does authenticity and being authentic mean to you and what aspects of being authentic will you continue to bring forward on your podcast? I'll see you in the next tip. YOUR NEXT STEP: Are you a coach or consultant who is struggling to stand out online? Do you feel unnoticed, unheard, invisible? Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #23. If I was to ask you to define Personal Branding – or your Personal Brand – how would you respond? If you said your Personal Brand is your reputation – you'd be correct. Personal Branding – or your Personal Brand is not a fad, it's not a buzz word that some marketers have begun throwing around as the flavour of the day. In fact, in my former business – a Career Consultancy we were talking about the importance of Personal Branding back in 2000's. So, it's NOT a fad at all! Your Personal Brand is your reputation. It's what people think about you when your name is mentioned. It's what people say about you when asked to share their experience. And, while you can't control what people think or say about you, you CAN influence it. By your actions, your interactions, your conversations, - everything can impact your reputation, your Personal Brand. Positively. Or negatively. If you do a Personal Brand audit today – would people think and say the exact things you'd want them to say? Or are you leaving it to chance. If you asked 5 people (who knew you well) to describe you in 5 words – would the 5 words they use to describe you be the same? And, more importantly, are they the 5 words you would want them to use to describe you? Are you showing up on your podcast expressing your personal brand and are those 5 words coming through in your mannerisms and the unique listener experience you are creating? It should! I'll see you in the next tip. YOUR NEXT STEP: Are you a coach or consultant who is struggling to stand out online? Do you feel unnoticed, unheard, invisible? A number of years ago, I shocked people, when I announced, I was going to stop production of my award-winning podcast – The Ambitious Entrepreneur Show. (What shocked me, was following my announcement I received several messages asking whether I'd be interested in selling it. I had no idea anyone would see that much value in what I had created and would even consider asking whether I would sell it to them, which is a story for another day). In this week's podcast episode, I want to share the mistakes I made with my podcast that led me to stop production, so you can avoid making the same mistakes with your coaching business podcast. (Or, if a podcast is something you're considering that you can avoid these mistakes altogether). Enjoy the show. Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #22. Today's tip is something that many businesses who are starting a podcast get stuck focusing on. And, that is number of downloads. Just like number of followers across your social media platform, number of likes and comments on your social media posts. We love those numbers don't we. The higher those numbers – the better. However, those numbers can so often be misleading. I've spoken to colleagues who have had to shut down their podcast – because they just couldn't generate any business from it – despite their podcast having millions of downloads. You would have heard me share in tip #21 about the Podcast Positioning Quadrant and the quadrant of celebrity. While you may have a lot of followers and in the case of your podcast – a lot of downloads, it doesn't mean you're going to be able to monetise your message and have people hire you. So, my tip today is NOT to get stuck focusing on vanity numbers, but rather building Reputation Equity. Because reputation equity is bankable, vanity numbers are not. What do I mean when I say Reputation Equity is bankable? Well, when you've got a reputation of bringing valuable insights and a reputation of delivering results in a specific area and there is a real need in that specific area that people are struggling with, when you have the right strategies in place, nurturing listeners into leads – people will hire you. If you're a Coach and/or Consultant – who wants to eventually generate clients from the message and content you're sharing so they invest in YOU, YOUR expertise, YOUR support – then it's important to focus on building your reputation as a trusted authority, vs building your following. In fact, if you continue to build your reputation as a trusted authority and continue to share valuable content consistently, you'll continue to build your audience. However, it may be a smaller niched audience, however far more engaged and more likely to take action as you continue to sew into their lives with the valuable content and message you share. So, build reputation equity – not vanity numbers, because as I've said before – your reputation is bankable. Vanity numbers are not. I'll see you in the next tip. YOUR NEXT STEP: Are you a coach or consultant who is struggling to stand out online? Do you feel unnoticed, unheard, invisible? When I first started my career coaching practice – the idea of helping people find a career they loved, was exciting. However, I soon learned what was less exciting, was everything leading up to the getting a client. From marketing my business (which is even more complicated today for coaches due to the plethora of ways to market your business and many more coaches to compete with), having sales conversations, right through to being able to respond professionally to that cringe-worthy question, “How much do you charge?” Thankfully, this was over two decades ago, and I've learned a lot over the years, which I've continued to apply within my podcasting and business coaching practice. However, what has remained the same over all these years is that many coaches still seem to be struggling with the same issues I did. Is this something you're struggling with, too? How to market their coaching business, How to generate quality leads, and How to get more clients? One of the pivotal turning points in my career coaching practice (and that I continue to use in my business coaching business when working with clients on their brand, message and podcast strategy) is to make sure you have a unique and uncopyable message that positions you as an influential trusted authority – THE choice vs just A choice for your dream client. One of the greatest challenges I find coaches experience when it comes to creating a message that's unique and uncopyable and that will capture the attention of their ideal client so they can generate quality leads and enrol more of their dream clients is – where do they even start. In this podcast I'll share some of the key steps I took, when it came to clarifying my unique and uncopyable message so that you can begin to craft your own. Enjoy the show. Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #21 In this tip, I want to introduce you to my Podcast Positioning Quadrant, which is a model I developed after observing what was happening with my podcasts, other podcast hosts as well as hosts from mainstream media. Now because you are listening to this #ListenerIntoLead tip and series, I'm assuming you are a business owner who wants to leverage your podcast to build your reach, your reputation as a trusted authority, as well as your revenue by being able to nurture listeners into leads. And there are a few things that need to be in place if you want to position yourself as a trusted authority on your podcast. Your Audience AND your level of Authority To be seen as a trusted authority you want to have a high level of authority AND also have a highly engaged and highly niched audience. I share more on my Profitable and Purposeful Podcasting Masterclass, which you can get access to (if you haven't already) by going to: PodcastingWithPurpose.com/ListenerIntoLead. That's PodcastingWithPurpose.com/ListenerIntoLead. However, for this tip, I'll share what the four quadrants are. Quadrant 1 is Entertainer, where you would have low audience and low authority. If you're seen as an Entertainer, you're going to find it really hard to generate leads and business from your podcast. Quadrant 2 is Celebrity, where you have high audience and low authority. So while you may have more of a following it's still going to be difficult for you to be seen as a trusted authority and monetise your message. Quadrant 3 is Expert, so this is high authority for the particular topic you are covering on the episode, however low audience. So you might have someone come and listen to your episode, but because there are some key strategies missing in your podcast strategy and irresistible listener experience – they won't come back and listen to another episode, you've lost their attention, and they haven't become subscribers. Now quadrant 4 is Trusted Authority. This is high on audience and high on authority. You've probably heard me say people come for the topic but return for the host – YOU, when you have the right strategy in place, the right elements to create that unique, uncopyable and irresistible listener experience. Become that trusted authority on your podcast on the Podcast Positioning Quadrant. I'll see you in the next tip. YOUR NEXT STEP: Are you a coach or consultant who is struggling to stand out online? Hi, this is Annemarie, and welcome to another #ListenerIntoLead podcast tip for coaches and consultants who want to launch a podcast to nurture listeners into leads, get clients and build their business with their podcast. This is tip #20 Want to find the right audience for your podcast? You've probably heard many marketers say you need to share more content, across more platforms, with more frequency so our message can cut through the noise? So, get your podcast across as many social media platforms as you can, as often as you can. I disagree with this. Especially if you are a change maker and looking to position yourself as a trusted authority, a thought leader in your industry. While other marketing coaches are saying more, more, more, I'm saying LESS is more. Especially when it comes to your podcast. So, not MORE social media platforms, but the RIGHT platform. And, when it comes to the right platform for you – it's finding out where the majority of your ideal clients are hanging out and then making sure you are focusing on that platform or those platforms. Rather than being distracted and being stretched too thin because you are trying to share your podcasts across as many social media platforms as you can. Where does your client hang out? What are they interested in learning more about? What's their most pressing need that you can speak into? If you're targeting a cold audience on that platform, how do they prefer to consume your content – in a bit size piece, followed by a link where they can listen to the full show? Do they prefer to read first, rather than say an audiogram? Or will you use a combination of micro content to bring your new audience back to your full episode? So, where do you find the right podcast audience? On the platforms your ideal client hangs out. Because the right podcast audience IS an audience of your ideal clients. Get clear on who your ideal client is and then go out and find out where they're hanging out. Then focus on that platform. I'll see you in the next tip.
