Inna Segal is an author of the incredible book "The Secret Language of your Body" which has sold over a million copies and has been translated in to 29 languages. This is Inna's second time on the podcast and it was such a pleasure to take a deep dive with her. In this episode our aim was to look into the energies of Masculine and Feminine. Of course, the conversation meanders slightly but we discuss Inna's healing methods, the difficulties of trying to "have it all". We gave ourselves the space to go deep and wide and I hope you love this conversation!Much loveRosanne xxTo find free resources and ways to work with me go to chakra-way.comDownload your Nervous System First Aid Kit hereTo support the podcast and show your love please click hereTo join the Slow & Restore Retreat in St Andrews on 21st/22nd November please click hereOr simply message me directly Hosted on Acast. What if the secret to living longer wasn't a supplement or a new diet trend, but something Americans were already eating a hundred years ago? If you've ever wondered why some of the longest-living people on earth seem to skip the fads, the supplements, and the superfood powders entirely, this episode is your answer.Dan Buettner, the National Geographic Fellow who discovered the world's five Blue Zones, joins me again to unpack the forgotten American diet his team of researchers say could add 6 to 10 years to your life. We get into the five pillars every longevity diet shares, why a daily cup of beans matters more than you'd think, why your toaster might be working against you, and how the friends you keep shape your health more than you realize. This is the real, doable version of eating for a longer life. No extremes required. If you missed his interview in Season 1, be sure to check out Episode #8!As for this episode…What You'll Learn:Why the standard American diet contributes to hundreds of thousands of premature deaths a year, and what's changed since 1980The 5 pillars found in every longevity diet in the worldWhy a daily cup of beans is linked to living 4 years longerWhy lightly steaming greens (even spinach) may beat eating them rawThe one small kitchen swap tied to weighing 6 pounds less over two yearsWhy starting your day with a savory breakfast beats cereal or bacon and eggsHow faith and community involvement are linked to living 4–14 years longerWhy your friends' habits are measurably contagious•Why longevity isn't about one miracle food, supplement, or 30-day challenge—it's about habits you can happily repeat for decades.… and so much more to help you create a lifestyle that supports not only a longer life, but a healthier, more vibrant one.About Our Guest Expert:Dan Buettner is an explorer, National Geographic Fellow, award-winning journalist, producer, and New York Times bestselling author best known for discovering and researching the world's Blue Zones—regions where people consistently live exceptionally long, healthy lives. His work explores the food, movement, social, environmental, and lifestyle patterns shared by some of the world's longest-lived populations. In The Blue Zones American Kitchen, Dan turns his attention to the United States, uncovering traditional plant-forward food cultures and heritage recipes that reflect many of the same longevity principles found in Blue Zones around the world.Connect with Dan Buettner:Instagram: @danbuettnerWebsite: danbuettner.comBook: The Blue Zones American KitchenAlso explore: The Blue Zones Kitchen and The Blue Zones____________________________________Get Cleaner, Regulated, Better Supplements for LessDid your last order of vitamins come off a big online overnight shipping platform but you have no idea how long it was sitting in an overheated warehouse?Or maybe those Omega-3s you take are actually rancid but you wouldn't know? That's why I'm excited to have found a platform that is not only efficacious and 3rd-party lab tested, but also regulated to have the ingredients in them that are on the label! And Fullscript has 100+ brands of supplements you may already be taking…only better. Sometimes the most nourishing thing we can do is stop. In this very different episode, I'm taking a short break from creating new meditations. After years of creating, giving and sharing, I've realised that I need some space to replenish and receive. So today, rather than a meditation, I'm reflecting on what happens when we give ourselves permission to put something down for a while - and why we don't always need to know what comes next. And if you need some support while I'm away, my Nervous System First Aid Kit is there for you - a collection of short, practical audio resets for those moments when you feel overwhelmed, stressed, stuck in fight or flight, or simply need to come back to yourself.Take what you need. Rest when you can. And I'll be back in a couple of weeks. ❤️Much loveRosanne xxTo find free resources and ways to work with me go to chakra-way.comDownload your Nervous System First Aid Kit hereTo support the podcast and show your love please click hereTo join the Slow & Restore Retreat in St Andrews on 21st/22nd November please click hereOr simply message me directly Hosted on Acast. Having taught my yoga classes around the theme of he Solar Plexus Chakra this week, I felt drawn to explore Inner Strength for this meditation. I think quite often we don't realise how much we have until it is fully tested, until a situation comes along that requires us to be really strong. Women are so incredibly strong - throughout history, through the ages and lineage of women who have bought us all here today there has been an inner strength that is awe inspiring. I want to redefine Inner Strength as not pushing through or holding everything together, but the quiet strength that has carried us through every difficult thing so far. When we are our true selves we can see our incredible strength - we can do the job, care for the people in our lives, and have the strength to do so much. It's not about being able to push through or hold everything together, it's about that deep knowing of the strength that we have.Much loveRosanne xxTo find free resources and ways to work with me go to chakra-way.comDownload your Nervous System First Aid Kit hereTo support the podcast and show your love please click hereTo join the Slow & Restore Retreat in St Andrews on 21st/22nd November please click hereOr simply message me directly Hosted on Acast. This year's Lion's Gate Portal reaches its peak on 8/8. The number 8 is often associated with the infinity symbol, reminding us of balance, flow and the continuous cycle of growth, transformation and becoming as well as the quiet phases of rest and challenge. Lionsgate Portal is a magical mix of astronomy, astrology, ancient symbolism and modern spirituality. The sun is travelling through the zodiac house of Leo, which is ruled by the Sun itself which brings an energy of warmth, confidence, courage, creativity, leadership and authenticity. This energy is asking who you are when you bring these aspects into your life. During the Portal the star Sirius (also known as the dog star) starts its annual rising which was very significant for the ancient Egyptians because it signalled the beginning of the flooding of the River Nile which brought life, renewal and the promise of a good harvest. So the rising of this star was held as a sign of abundance, and new beginnings. Nature running its beautiful cycles to support us, trusting in Mother Earth to support us, the stars being the guide, the sign that life's cycles keep flowing. This is a time where we can connect with the energy of the stars and the earth and the flow of energy between the two and to reflect on who you are becoming... Adding to this, we have a solar eclipse during the Lion's Gate window, which closes on 12th August. Many people see this combination as a potent time to pause, reflect and consciously set intentions for the path ahead. But, in this meditation, I invite you to ask a different question. Not, "What do I want?"But..."Who am I becoming?"Rather than focusing on what you hope to attract into your life, this meditation invites you to remember the qualities that already live within you. The courage, wisdom, compassion, trust or joy that are waiting to be embodied more fully. When we become the person we are here to be, our intentions naturally begin to unfold from that place of alignment.I hope this meditation helps you step through your own inner gateway with clarity, purpose and an open heart.Much love,Rosanne xxTo find free resources and ways to work with me go to chakra-way.comDownload your Nervous System First Aid Kit hereTo support the podcast and show your love please click hereOr simply message me directly Hosted on Acast. Coffee Helpful or Harmful + Soy & Alcohol and the Truth About Breast Cancer with guest expert Dr. William Li #62What if the habits you already have — your morning coffee, your soy latte, your occasional glass of wine — are actually working for you, not against you? In this episode, Samantha sits down once again with William Li, MD, internationally renowned physician, scientist, and New York Times bestselling author of Eat to Beat Disease and Eat to Beat Your Diet, to cut through decades of nutritional myths and replace fear with facts. From the cancer-fighting compound hiding in your espresso, to the truth about soy and breast cancer risk that 14 published studies now confirm, to what your "healthy" stevia packet may secretly contain — Dr. Li delivers the kind of science-backed clarity that changes how you shop, eat, and think about food as medicine every single day. This is one of those episodes you'll want to share with every woman you love. What You'll LearnThe chlorogenic acid triple-threat: How the natural compound in coffee simultaneously lowers inflammation, activates brown fat to burn visceral fat, AND cuts off the blood supply to cancer cells.Organic coffee is more potent: Why pesticide-free farming causes the coffee plant to produce more chlorogenic acid — meaning organic beans are literally more medicinal. The dairy-in-coffee trap: How dairy fat forms "soap bubbles" around chlorogenic acid, blocking up to 20–30% of its absorption in your gut.Cellular aging and telomeres: How chlorogenic acid has been shown to slow the shortening of telomeres — the protective caps on your DNA — keeping your tissues and organs more vital, longer. The 1–4 cup sweet spot: What the clinical and epidemiological research says about optimal daily coffee intake and how not to get paralyzed by the math. The stevia label scandal: Why a "pure stevia" label can be deceiving — and how the filler erythritol, often hidden inside, has been linked by cardiologists to increased heart attack risk.Soy is nature's tamoxifen: How soy's phytoestrogen (genistein) has a completely different molecular structure than human estrogen — and actually blocks estrogen receptors the same way the breast cancer drug tamoxifen does.14 JAMA-level studies, one conclusion: Every single study examining soy consumption in women at high breast cancer risk found improved survival rates and lower recurrence — with no study showing increased mortality. The 10-gram soy protein target: How one tall glass of soy milk or a small portion of tofu delivers the daily amount studied in clinical trials for breast protection.Emulsifiers and your gut microbiome: Why additives like carrageenan, guar gum, and polysorbate in commercial coffee drinks and plant milks silently alter the healthy bacteria in your gut, raising systemic inflammation.About Our GuestDr. William Li is an internationally renowned physician, scientist, researcher, and author whose work has impacted over 70 diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. He is the founder and president of the Angiogenesis Foundation and is best known for his groundbreaking TED Talk, Can We Eat to Starve Cancer?, which has been viewed by millions worldwide. We can get so caught up in cycles of doubt, insecurity, overthinking, overanalyzing, analysis paralysis, second guessing, getting stuck, procrastinating, and all of these obstacles in our decision-making.And beginning to use a pendulum to ask anything—from the most simple and basic low-risk type of question, to making some of the biggest decisions of my life—has really freed me from all of those monkey mind games that used to set me back. And I'm on a mission to share that kind of freedom with others. In this episode, I'll be teaching us how divination was once a universal folk practice, why it's actually normal to consult your intuition (and quite abnormal not to), and how to use a pendulum (or any weighted necklace) to access clear yes/no guidance from your body, intuition, ancestors, or divine support team. We'll explore the science-backed connection between pendulum work and muscle testing, discuss who or what we might be channeling, and have hands-on practice together in real time. By the end, you'll have a grounded process for using a pendulum to make aligned decisions rooted in love, clarity, and intuition.Mentioned in this episode: ep 206 How To Use Intuitive ToolsAmelia Hruby and her podcast Off The GridSign up for my free Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar GuideSign up for a free curiosity call to get to know each other better before doing a reading or reiki togetherOr if you're ready, sign up for a pendulum & oracle card reading hereOr sign up for a reiki session hereHow we can walk together

How to Activate the "Ozempic" Effect without a GLP-1 Rx with guest expert Dr. Neal BarnardWeight loss after 40 isn't a willpower issue—it's a food signaling issue. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Neal Barnard to unpack why midlife weight gain happens and how you can finally eat right for your biology. Once you understand how certain foods talk directly to your metabolism, appetite hormones, and fat-burning machinery, the entire game changes. This episode is about moving beyond the deprivation mindset of "eating less" to explore how to lose weight without ever counting a single calorie. We're talking real science and food that actually tastes good. From why berries beat calorie counting to how fiber literally "traps" calories and carries them out of your body, we are diving deep into the Power Foods strategy. Dr. Barnard explains how plant-based meals naturally stimulate GLP-1—the same satiety hormone targeted by drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy—allowing you to turn off your appetite without needles or side effects. This is a must-listen for women who want to feel strong, lean, and fully alive now and at 80.What You'll Learn in This Episode:The Biological Pivot: Why traditional calorie restriction backfires in midlife and what works instead.Calorie Trapping: How fiber acts as a literal "sponge" to remove approximately 100 calories per day as waste. The Three Fat-Loss Mechanisms: How to activate appetite control, calorie trapping, and a metabolism boost simultaneously.Natural GLP-1: Why plant-based fiber and healthy complex carbs are the exact signals your satiety cells are looking for.The Twin Study: The mind-blowing research linking berries to 9% less abdominal fat, even in genetically identical twins.Thermogenesis Hacks: How cinnamon, chili peppers, and specific spices increase your calorie-burning speed. The Power 6 Foods: The top foods proven to support sustainable weight loss, including berries, melons, and cruciferous veggies.Habit Retraining: Why weight-loss drugs fail to retrain eating habits and how food can bridge that gap.The 21-Day Transition: How to move gently into a Power Foods lifestyle without overwhelm or perfection.Longevity Benefits: Why this approach reduces cancer risk, supports joint health, and reverses diabetes markers.About Our Guest Expert:Dr. Neal Barnard, MD, FACC is an adjunct professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. His research focuses on the role of nutrition in weight loss, diabetes reversal, hormonal health, chronic pain, and cancer prevention. In this episode in joined by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman. Retired U.S. Army Ranger, paratrooper, former West Point psychology professor and author of On Killing and On Combat walks us through how we unpack the psychology of stress, trauma, and resilience. Grossman has spent decades training military, law enforcement, and first responders on what actually happens to the mind and body under extreme pressure, from tunnel vision and time distortion to the adrenaline crash that follows a major incident. His insights reveal how we can prepare ourselves and our teams not only to survive high-stress encounters but to grow stronger from them.We explore the concept of the “bulletproof mind,” the science of stress inoculation, and the leadership practices that help protect responders long after the crisis ends. I met Christopher Reynolds through Podmatch, and, as I usually do, I followed him on Instagram and TikTok to see what he's about, and his message is so beautiful. His stories are meaningful and deep, and you can't help but be drawn in and want to support whatever he's putting out. Christopher is a high-end landscape designer, and he discovered for himself what a powerful addition native plants are to his design. He encourages everyone to plant natives wherever we can - just add a few even, to add biodiversity to our area. He talks about ways that adding native plants will improve the land, and bring in beneficial insects and birds, and other critters, and the magnitude of those positive changes. All from just planting a few native plants! A small effort for huge and lasting results! He also talks about the personal project he's working on, Tierra Linda Park, that he's experimenting and bringing back to life using natives, and the results already are truly awesome!Christopher's own words of what he wants you to take away from this conversation from his guest form: "The solutions to many of our big problems are simple and fast in the scheme of things. We can all participate at whatever level we can and all acts, tiny and grand, contribute. If you know how easy it is, then you can't help but want to take action."
