In this final Sunday of Advent, Pastor Leah reflects on how love calls us to move through fear and into solidarity.

Poni had a question for everyone to start today's show – where did the Mason Rudolph love come from? How much of the heavy lifting does the end of the 2023 season do? Chris said people love a comeback story going back to biblical days. Did he get a raw deal? People haven't seen him play bad football in Pittsburgh for a little while. Where does the love for Mason Rudolph come from? One caller, missing the point, wondered why the guys were ‘praising' Duck Hodges in 2019. Pirates/Penguins reporter Jason Mackey from the PG joined the show. Jason confirmed that the Pirates did offer Josh Naylor a contract, but doesn't think Naylor was close to leaving Seattle. Jason thinks they will spend some money this off-season, but players like Naylor and Kyle Schwarber are probably too rich. Jason questioned why a free agent worth $30M/year would come to Pittsburgh. Jason believes it's ‘very possible' that Konnor Griffin begins the 2026 season on the Pirates roster as their starting shortstop. Jason thinks the Pirates payroll will be right around $100M, but doubts it gets any higher than that. Jason thinks Eugenio Suarez could be the big move of the off-season, coming off a 49 HR season.

From scripture, we come to see that love is more than words, feelings, and emotions. Love is action. True love calls for us to do something, and also to refrain from some things. Main Points:1. Love, when truly demonstrated, is not just an emotion expressed to family and close friends. Love is seen the clearest when it is given to those we think don't deserve it and those who don't expect it. 2. When God's love changes us, we begin to notice others. We begin to see what God sees. We'll notice the lonely, the hurting, the broken, and the discouraged. We see those who desperately need to be loved.3. So, let's ask, how can I show love today? To whom can I show love? What loving words can I share with someone? What loving acts can I do to show God's love? Who can I serve? Who can I bless with the love of God?  Your loving actions might just change their lives.Today's Scripture Verses:John 13:34, Jesus says to his disciples, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”1 John 4:19-21 - “We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.”1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Readings for the 3rd Sunday in Advent - Zephaniah 3:14-18a; Philippians 4:4-7; Luke 3:10-18The Third Sunday in Advent is commonly referred to as Gaudete Sunday, a Latin word meaning "rejoice!" And each of our readings invite us to do this very thing, w/ Paul pleading for us twice in the first sentence. So why? What is it we rejoice about? As an expectant mother rejoices at the life that grows within her, so we rejoice at the nearness of our God. And if the God of the Universe is so overcome with love for you and I this day that He is willing to dance before us, perhaps we can give ourselves a bit of a break and accept the fact that maybe, just maybe, we are lovable and worth the dance. When Love Calls Peaked at number five on billboard's R&B chart and number 80 on billboard's dance music chart in 1981. The lyrics said: When love calls You better answer Cause it might be a big mistake if you decide to hesitate. The single is a pretty good R&B and dance song.You may know  Atlantic star from singing the hits Always, Secret Lovers, and Masterpiece. You may also know them from singing One Lover, At a Time, If Your Heart Isn't In It, and My First Love. The group started in the 1970s and they were singing in the 80s They have changed and replaced members. There were some members that had solo careers. They were plentiful in members. I think now the band has four members and still sound great and still singing and performing.
