Girl in the Glass City & Friends Bed Build for SHP1447 N Summit St, Toledo, OH 4-13-19 9am-2pmThere are currently over 1000 kids waiting for a bed from Sleep in Heavenly Peace right here in NW Ohio. Let’s come together make some beds for these kids so that “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town."Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a 100% volunteer driven organization with a simple mission, to give beds to kids who do not have them. The might be sleeping on blankets or pool floats on the floor. They might be sleeping on a couch or in a chair. Several siblings might be crowded all into one bed. But the fact is hundreds of kids are waiting for beds in our town and SHP can’t make them fast enough. So let’s gather for a bed build on Saturday, April 13th at 9a. We’ll need 1) sponsors - companies and individuals to join those generous sponsors we already have and can give at least $500 and2) volunteers - about 25 of you to build the beds from 2x4s. We’ll train you. Don’t worry.Sponsors will receive lots of recognition of their goodwill, SHP and I are good about blowing up FB with videos and pics of your kindness. You also have the opportunity to brand a bed with the SHP logo and possibly accompany the core volunteers on a delivery of beds to witness kids receiving their very own bed complete with mattress and bed linens.Volunteers will be well fed and go home with the satisfaction that you did something concrete that matters in our community. Together we will build about 25 beds.Click on the “going” or “interested” button to stay in touch with this event and feel free to ask questions below. We’ll keep in touch with you. Many thanks to our current amazing build sponsors Doug Howard Builders, Inc., Redfox Custom Homes, Stephanie Kuhlman/ NAI Harmon Group, Kids Yoga Toledo. Much appreciation to our warehouse site sponsors Arakÿta. And thanks to Marco's Pizza, Toledo Loves Coffee and Kaminsky & Associatess/ Kate Johnson for sponsoring food for volunteers.
