Host Ron Rapaport talks with Luke Mickelson, founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, about how a 2012 garage build turned into a nationwide nonprofit that makes and delivers beds for children in need. The episode explores the organization's origin, the chapter model and volunteer build days, memorable delivery stories, leadership lessons, funding, and how listeners can donate, volunteer, or start a chapter. Through the simple mission "No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town," SHP has mobilized communities to deliver tens of thousands of beds and transform lives. Story of the Week (DR):BP ousts chair over ‘serious' governance, oversight concerns MMThe board said the decision was unanimous. In a statement, Amanda Blanc, BP's senior independent director, described the board as having been caught off guard by what it found: "The board has been surprised and disappointed to learn of governance oversight and conduct issues it deems unacceptable and has taken decisive action."The oil giant's board removed Albert Manifold from his roles as chair and director this week, effective immediately. He faced a contingent of investor opposition at BP's recent annual meeting.Internal leaks and a whistleblower report point to a pattern of "aggressive," "verbally abusive," and "bullying" behavior toward multiple colleagues, alongside accusations of withholding info from the board and leaking privileged data.Ousted BP Chair Hits Back at ‘Lies' About His ConductThe boardroom turmoil at BP deepened after its ousted chair, Albert Manifold, claimed allegations about his conduct were “lies”.In a new and lengthy statement, Manifold disputed reports about his conduct, saying: “At no point in my tenure as chairman of BP has anyone raised with me any issue about my conduct or my relationship with my colleagues.”He also described media reports that he wanted to exert control of the FTSE 100 company like an executive chair as “nonsense”. Manifold said he had “many other commitments” and had only spent 13 days in BP's London office so far this year.“What I do not accept is that lies can be told about me, nor that anyone should be allowed to hide behind anonymity when commenting on my time at BP.”Manifold conceded he may have “pushed hard and challenged people directly” amid his “determination to drive change on costs, performance, the balance sheet and shareholder communications”.However, he disputed reports from the company about his behaviour, adding: “There is a considerable distance between driving an organisation with urgency and the characterisation of my conduct that is now being put about.”He said such “accusations” had not been previously made about his behaviour during his 40-year career. He added that he “called out … unnecessary or excessive expenditure” but felt not everyone shared his priorities.Manifold said he turned down many of the benefits traditionally enjoyed by top executives, which he called a “culture of entitlement”, including chauffeur-driven cars, being flown by private jet or taking advantage of corporate hospitality: “I had no interest in having a dedicated chauffeur-driven limousine at my beck and call on the occasions that I was in London. I, like most people, walked, took taxis, trains, etc. I had no interest in taking private aviation nor in availing myself of corporate tickets for sports events. I made my own coffee, bought my lunch in the local cafe. I sat in a small office, eschewing the grand corner-office privilege of previous chairmen.”Ian Tyler has been named interim chair, BP said, with the board set to begin a formal process to identify a permanent successor: "The Board and leadership team have deep conviction in the strategic direction we have laid out, and the company is moving at pace to deliver it."This marks BP's fourth abrupt top-tier departure in three years, following the rapid exits of previous chair Helge Lund and chief executives Bernard Looney and Murray Auchincloss.BoardIan Tyler Interim Chair 2025Meg O'Neill CEO 2026Kate Thomson CFO 2024 (Interim in 2023)Dame Amanda Blanc Senior Independent Director 2022Dave Hager 2025Tushar Morzaria 2020Hina Nagarajan 2023Satish Pai 2023Dr. Johannes Teyssen 2021Manifold took up the chairmanship just last October. One of the biggest misconceptions investors have about retirement planning is that a healthy portfolio with large balances guarantees retirement success. But without a comprehensive plan that accounts for the income, taxes, investments, healthcare, and legacy goals, retirees can still face unnecessary risks and uncertainty down the road. In this episode, SHP co-founder Matthew Peck is joined by SHP's Vice President of Advisory Solutions, Nick Nelson, to break down the key differences between having a portfolio and having a complete retirement plan. Nick explains why successful retirement planning goes far beyond investment performance and requires coordination across every area of your financial life. Together, they discuss how income planning serves as the foundation of retirement, why investment strategies must evolve during the distribution phase, and how factors like taxes, inflation, healthcare costs, and legacy planning can impact long-term financial success. They also explain how proactive planning and working with a trusted advisor can help retirees navigate uncertainty with greater confidence and peace of mind. In this podcast interview, you'll learn: Why a retirement portfolio alone may not provide the confidence needed for long-term financial success. How income planning serves as the foundation for every other area of retirement planning. Why investment strategies should change when transitioning from accumulation to distribution. How inflation, taxes, and RMDs can significantly impact your retirement income over time. The role healthcare and long-term care planning play in protecting your retirement assets. Why legacy planning goes beyond estate documents and helps define the impact you leave behind. Want the Full Show Notes? For many people, investing money into a 401(k) is the foundation of their retirement. Unfortunately, most investors don't fully understand how these plans work or how to take full advantage of them. From contribution limits to employer matches and tax strategies, small decisions made today can have a significant impact on your long-term financial future. Without a clear understanding, it's easy to miss opportunities and make costly mistakes that could affect your income in retirement. In this episode, SHP co-founder Matthew Peck is once again joined by SHP's Raphael Hanna to break down the fundamentals of 401(k) planning. With years of experience helping clients navigate retirement strategies, Raphael shares practical insights into how these plans function and how to approach them with a long-term perspective. Together, they walk through the key components of a 401(k), including how to determine your contribution amount, how employer matching and vesting schedules work, and the differences between pre-tax and Roth contributions. They highlight common pitfalls to avoid and how proactive planning can help you maximize your retirement savings, giving you greater confidence as you approach retirement. In this podcast interview, you'll learn: The importance of fully understanding your 401(k) as it has replaced traditional pensions for many people. How to determine the right contribution amount based on your income, expenses, and long-term goals. How employer matching and vesting schedules work and why leaving early could mean losing valuable benefits. The key differences between pre-tax and Roth 401(k) contributions and how each impacts your taxes over time. Why tax diversification across pre-tax, Roth, and after-tax accounts can provide more flexibility in retirement. What to consider when rolling over a 401(k) or using in-service distributions to gain more control over your investments. Want the Full Show Notes? Yinz Are Good shares the *good* news going on out there and celebrates the good people who are making it happen: The people who are lifting others up, who are taking care of their neighbors, the people who are saying, “What can I do today to make our world a better place?”.Our guest today reached out to us from the other side of the country - from Idaho, to be exact - and boy, are we glad he did. Let's start with this: our guest's work has been recognized on Mike Rowe's Returning the Favor, CNN Heroes (where he was a Top 10 finalist!), NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, Good Morning America, The Today Show, People Magazine, and even American Ninja Warrior. His name is Luke Mickelson and his work is the nonprofit, Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP).What began as a single act of kindness has grown into a global nonprofit with a simple but powerful mission: “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”. Today, SHP has more than 400 chapters across 47 U.S. states and 4 countries. They build beds for kids who need them and wait until you hear how many beds they have made to date…it is astounding. Tressa had the great joy and honor of chatting with Luke via Zoom (she couldn't quite make it over to Idaho). This is a conversation about taking care of one another, about how listening to your inner voice - your gut - can propel you to new and unexpected chapters of your life, and about how saying “yes” to unexpected opportunities can literally change the lives of strangers. In Episode 144 of the Charity Charge Show, we sit down with a man who is quite literally building a better night's sleep for children across the globe. Luke Mickelson, the founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) Beds, joins us to share a story that started in a cold Idaho garage and has since ignited a national movement to end "child bedlessness."From a "Two-by-Four" Realization to a National MovementLuke's journey didn't start in a boardroom; it started with a simple observation in Kimberly, Idaho. While looking for ways to get local youth away from their screens and into service, Luke discovered a family in his own backyard whose children were sleeping on the floor."It hit me up the side of the head like a two-by-four," Luke recalls. "I thought, 'You gotta be kidding me. What are they sleeping on? The floor?'"What began as a one-time project to build a few beds has scaled into a massive operation. Today, SHP has over 400 chapters across 47 states and four countries. In 2026 alone, they are on track to build nearly 100,000 beds.Innovation in the Nonprofit Model: Your Mission is Your FundraiserOne of the most profound takeaways from Luke's strategy is how SHP flipped the traditional nonprofit funding model on its head. Instead of diverting energy into "spaghetti feeds" or gala dinners, SHP makes the mission itself the revenue driver through Corporate Team Building. The Problem: Corporations want to give back but struggle to find scalable, organized, and impactful volunteer opportunities. The Solution: SHP provides "turnkey" build events. Companies like Lowe's, Ford, and Google sponsor the materials and bring their employees to build the beds. The Result: The company gets a high-impact team-building experience, and the nonprofit gets 100% mission-aligned funding.Avoiding "Mission Creep"As a senior strategist, I find Luke's discipline regarding Mission Creep to be a masterclass for any social impact leader. When you enter a home and see a family in need, the temptation to provide clothes, food, or toys is immense. However, Luke insists on a singular focus: Beds.By staying "mile-deep and inch-wide," SHP ensures their operations remain efficient, their branding stays clear, and their impact is measurable. This discipline is what allows them to maintain a 96% efficiency rate, ensuring nearly every dollar donated stays in the local community to build beds. How You Can Get InvolvedThe need is staggering—roughly 3% of children in any given community are sleeping without a bed. Here is how you can join the SHP family:Raise Awareness: Child bedlessness is an "unknown" crisis. Share this episode to help shine a light on the issue.Volunteer or Donate: Visit SHPBeds.org to find a local chapter. You can donate specifically to your city, ensuring your impact is felt at home.Start a Chapter: If your community lacks an SHP presence, the organization provides full training, tools, and initial funding to help you lead the charge."No kid sleeps on the floor in our town." It's a bold mission, but with leaders like Luke Mickelson and the power of community-driven data, it's a goal that is within our reach. ---------------------------About Charity ChargeCharity Charge is a financial technology company serving the nonprofit sector. For many investors, 2025 has raised difficult questions about safety, inflation, global instability, and how to protect wealth in an increasingly unpredictable environment. With gold posting some of its strongest performance in decades, many are wondering whether it belongs in their portfolios. So today, SHP Financial's Matthew Peck is joined by Senior Portfolio Analyst David Hathaway to break down the factors behind gold's surge. From geopolitical tensions to inflation concerns, David explains why gold has historically served as a store of value, how it behaves in crisis periods, and why it often shines when uncertainty is at its highest. In this conversation, you'll also learn how investors can actually access gold, whether through ETFs, physical metals, or alternative allocations; what percentage ranges may make sense inside a diversified portfolio; and how SHP evaluates when to introduce or increase exposure. Matthew and David also compare gold with assets like Bitcoin and discuss its role in alternative investments. They outline why a disciplined, research-based approach—not a fearful approach—is essential when evaluating gold's place in long-term planning. In this podcast interview, you'll learn: The forces driving gold's surge in 2025, including geopolitical tension and central bank buying. How inflation pressures, weakening currencies, and rate cuts often boost demand for gold. The most common ways to invest in gold and why ETFs are typically the most efficient. Typical allocation ranges for gold and how it fits within an alternatives bucket. How gold differs from Bitcoin in correlation and diversification benefits. Why SHP uses a careful, research-based process before adding or increasing gold exposure. Want the Full Show Notes? Send us a textOn this week's episode of the Today is the Day Changemakers Podcast my guest is someone whose story will stay with you long after the episode ends: Luke Mickelson, founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Luke's journey is nothing short of extraordinary. He didn't create a nonprofit — he sparked a national movement.Featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Hallmark Channel's Home & Family, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, and recognized as a Top 10 CNN Hero, Luke has been sharing a truth most people never even consider:There is a crisis happening in America that we don't talk about. Not every child has a bed.Since 2012, over 250,000 children have received brand-new beds because of Sleep in Heavenly Peace and its army of volunteers. Yet the need continues to grow.We talk about hunger. We talk about clothing. But we rarely talk about the child sleeping on a cold floor…or a blanket in the backseat of a car…or a couch they share with siblings.Luke has seen those children. He has delivered beds to those families. And he has witnessed the look on a child's face when they receive something many of us take for granted — a safe, warm, comfortable place to sleep. A moment that restores dignity, hope, and childhood itself. And here's what makes this story even more powerful:Luke didn't seek out this mission — it found him.A simple act.A moment of paying attention.A heart that refused to look away. That is all it took to ignite a movement.Today, with national partners like Lowe's and DeWALT, SHP has chapters across the country — but many communities still have none. The need is everywhere. Which is why Luke speaks so passionately about starting new chapters in towns, cities, and states nationwide. In this unforgettable episode, we discuss:· The moment that changed Luke's life — and thousands of others· The emotional reality of child bedlessness in America· What it feels like to hand a child their very first bed· Why heart health — emotional and physical — is intertwined with service· How YOU can start a Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter and help change livesThis isn't just a story — it's a wake-up call.A reminder that one act of service can ripple into something life-changing.Let's make sure no child sleeps on the floor in our towns — or any town.#TodayIsTheDayPodcast #LukeMickelson #SleepInHeavenlyPeace #Changemakers #Service #Leadership #NonprofitImpact #EveryChildDeservesABed #CommunityAction #BeTheChange #Sleep #Bedlessness #Community #Volunteers #Lowes #DeWaltSupport the show
For many young adults and new parents, getting their savings or investment plans started can feel intimidating. Despite all the information available online, most don't realize that setting aside small amounts early—$25 a week or $100 a month—can grow into a lifetime of financial security through the power of compound interest. In today's episode, SHP's VP of Advisory Solutions, Nick Nelson, is back to explain why building strong saving habits early makes a huge difference later in life. He details simple steps for young savers, how low-cost index funds help, and why consistency beats market timing for long-term success. In this conversation, you'll also learn the best vehicles for helping children build long-term wealth—from 529 plans and UTMAs to custodial Roth IRAs—and how families can begin meaningful, healthy conversations around money. They also discussed other important topics, such as when a young investor may need an advisor, how to create financial goals effectively, and why a simple, consistent plan can make early savers dramatically more successful over a lifetime. In this podcast interview, you'll learn: Why starting your savings plans early—even with small amounts—creates extraordinary long-term advantages. How compound interest can turn $100 or $250 per month into millions over a lifetime. The best accounts for young savers, including 401(k)s, Roth IRAs, brokerage accounts. How parents and grandparents can use 529 plans, UTMAs, and custodial Roth IRAs to help with their children's education costs. Why timing the market is a losing game and what young investors should do instead. How to keep investing simple by using low-cost index funds and long-term discipline. When a young investor may need a financial advisor and when they might not. Want the Full Show Notes? How do we raise kids who look beyond themselves and become true agents of generosity in a self-centered world? In this heart-stirring episode of Christian Parent/Crazy World, Catherine welcomes an extraordinary guest whose story proves that one small act of service can ignite a global movement. Luke Mickelson—founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace—shares how a simple urge to meet a need in his own community became a mission to ensure that “no kid sleeps on the floor in my town.” What began as a Christmas service project in his garage alongside his children and Boy Scout group has since grown into a national nonprofit providing hundreds of thousands of beds—literal safe havens—for children in need. Luke Mickelson’s journey began in a small Idaho town with an ordinary Saturday, a crisis of faith, and the realization that kids in his own community were literally sleeping on the floor. Instead of writing a check, Luke rolled up his sleeves, gathered some tools, and invited his own children—and a group of energetic Boy Scouts—to build a bed from scratch. That humble act of service didn’t just meet an immediate need, it filled a void in Luke’s life and eventually sparked a nationwide movement that has provided over 300,000 beds to kids in need. Key insights and moments from this episode include: How parents can teach their kids generosity by modeling it and making service hands-on and family-focused The importance of taking ownership for the brokenness in our own communities—and the power of the motto, “No kid sleeps on the floor in my town” The surprising scope of child bedlessness in America—and why so few people are even aware this need exists What it feels like to step out in faith and put everything on the line for a God-inspired calling Why meaningful service is the antidote to the emptiness that so many parents and children feel How ordinary community members (including retirees, families, and youth groups) can get involved in building and delivering beds—or even start a Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter Practical ways to help, from raising awareness, volunteering, donating, or simply showing up for one kid in your town Luke's credentials as CNN’s Top 10 Hero, as well as his features on NBC News, PBS, and Mike Rowe’s Returning the Favor, uniquely position him to speak to the transformative power of hands-on generosity. His story is a forceful reminder that “God’s hands are your hands”—and that taking action, not just dreaming, is what transforms lives. Whether building beds, delivering hope, or finding creative ways for your family to serve, this conversation will equip and inspire you to become the hands and feet of Christ in your neighborhood. Guest Bio: Luke Mickelson is the founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a nonprofit that builds and delivers beds to children in need. What started in his garage as a holiday project in 2012 has grown into a global movement, with over 350 chapters in four countries and more than 250,000 beds delivered. As the cause kept growing, Luke left an 18-year career to devote himself fully to the cause. SHP now has volunteers devoting 550,000 hours on average every year. Built on the belief that giving a bed is about more than comfort — it’s about dignity, purpose, and connection. As we hit the NFL June swoon our Seahawks have had an incredibly busy and intriguing off-season, draft, OTAs, and minicamp. So, what stories actually matter and give us hints of what's to come for real in 2025? Since the Seattle Seahawks haven't played a game yet in the 2025 season, we discuss the stories from the last several weeks that have fans buzzing and what might be raising some eyebrows. From Abe Lucas's emphatic statements at the podium, to the implications of Sam Darnold's early struggles in practice. Plus, could we see a frustrated Byron Murphy surrounding his role on the defensive line if one area of the team isn't fixed by the start of the season? It's best shape of their life season people!!! So, rip your sleeves clean off and let's dive into the nooks and crannies of this Seahawks off-season. Special Thanks to our Sponsor BodySpec:
How does Sam Darnold perform in the clutch? That's what we're taking a look at in our film review of new Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. We take a look at several key plays from Darnold's time with the Vikings, focusing on his performance under pressure and in clutch moments. In our look at these pivotal moments, we analyze Darnold's ability to maneuver the pocket, make accurate throws, and lead fourth-quarter comebacks. There's also a low moment to balance things out. With a mix of excitement and cautious optimism, this is a quick look at what Darnold can bring to Seattle in the upcoming season. Special Thanks to our Sponsor BodySpec:
Nathan Santo from the Seahawks Nest Podcast returns to the show for a lively discussion about the Seattle Seahawks and their quarterback situation. With Sam Darnold now in the mix, Nathan shares his long-standing belief in Darnold's potential and how his time with the 49ers may have prepared him for success in Seattle. Does Sam have the offensive line and the weapons in Seattle to succeed? We touch on the Seahawks' pass catchers including the impact of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp and the potential of new additions like Tory Horton and Marquez Valdez-Scantling. We also discuss Jalen Milroe as Nathan believes that coach Mike Macdonald my be using some misdirection when it comes to using Jalen Milroe in a Taysom Hill role. As the Seattle Seahawks wrap up their first week of OTAs, it's notable how excited Seahawks fans are about the 2025 team. In this week's show, we pull some of our favorite quotes from press conferences from Abe Lucas, offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, Sam Darnold and Ernest Jones. It was one quote in particular from Abe Lucas that has Adam really excited for the upcoming season and why our show has now anointed him as the Seahawks offensive ambassador. The message of the Seahawks using a fullback came through loud and clear via Abe as well as Sam Darnold. Klint Kubiak has taken note of Jalen Milroe's worth ethic and the early hours he's coming into the facility to work. On the defensive side, coordinator Aden Durde talked about what it has meant for the team to have everyone on board for the voluntary portion of OTAs. But how important is it really? We're somewhat conflicted on the importance. We do note the importance of having a pair of linebackers who are in sync with each other. Ernest Jones talked about just how important Tyrice Knight has been in his own development, and how they've been improving their relationship in the offseason. In the second half of the show, Sam Darnold reveals how good (or bad) of a golfer he is. It's the first time in the history of the show that we'll have a starting quarterback who seems to golf regularly. Lumen Field is getting nearly 20 million in upgrades next offseason for the World Cup, but it sounds like only one of the improvements will actually benefit a small portion of Seahawks fans. The audio equipment company Rode is highlighted in the Do Better segment along with organization highlighting mock draft content for 2026. Better at life honors go out to the Steelers organization (for maybe the only time) and to our Seahawks for highlighting its 50th Season game for the upcoming year. As the Seattle Seahawks grind through OTAs, we're getting into the seven signs that could indicate being legitimate contenders in 2025. From the potential of rookie guard Grey Zabel to the impact of Sam Darnold (or Jalen Milroe) at quarterback. Just how important is a cohesive run game? How about the necessity of a suffocating defense or the significance of a strong offensive line? We also get into your questions, including how the team can reclaim home field advantage and the need for a creative offensive scheme. With exciting insights and spirited debate, we are packing high levels of optimism for the upcoming season. Special Thanks to our Sponsor BodySpec:
Join us on the Sea Hawkers Podcast with special guest and NFL analyst, Coach DC of All-22 Films! We dive into the Seattle Seahawks' 2025 season, exploring how Jalen Milroe's unique skills can shape the offense, whether Sam Darnold can repeat his stellar 2024 performance, and how Ken Walker will thrive in Klint Kubiak's run-centric, wide zone scheme. The conversation also touches on the impact of the new offensive schemes, the importance of under-center play, and how the Seahawks running game could evolve with Ken Walker III and Zach Charbonnet. The trio also discusses the defensive prospects, including the promising talents of Devon Witherspoon and Boye Mafe, and what fans can expect from the upcoming season. Special Thanks to our Sponsor BodySpec:
For our first look into the film of Jalen Milroe, the Seattle Seahawks intriguing third-round quarterback pick, we're focusing on several plays from the Alabama game against South Carolina. We take a look at Milroe's impressive plays from the game, including his running ability and arm talent, while also addressing one of his biggest mistakes. These moments showcase Milroe's strengths and areas for improvement, and puts on display how he could fit into the Seahawks future. Watch on YouTube Special Thanks to our Sponsor BodySpec:
Seahawks OTAs kick off this week, so as the team gets together there are some key storylines and nuggets that we're going to be on the lookout for. The rookie form of Grey Zabel is high on that list along with the focus on quarterback and what we're hearing about Sam Darnold, versus Drew Lock versus Jalen Milroe. Could Lock's experience with this team give him an edge over the other two quarterbacks in the way they interact as a team? Defensively, we talk about some of the key things we want to hear about along the defensive line, despite their inability to put on pad and bang around like we see in the preseason. List season creep has begun. Usually it waits until after OTAs and the mandatory minicamp, but we have a couple lists where Sam Darnold makes an appearance. We talk about where he ranks out on the PFF list of 32 NFL starting quarterbacks and the top 10 most risky free agent signings. We also talk about why two former Seahawks are above Darnold on both lists and how it may lead the way for how the media views this Seahawks roster until the start of the season. In the second half of the show, we discuss a few of the rules changes. The NFL has expanded the number of plays that can be reviewed, but only if a flag is thrown. Touchbacks are now coming out to the 35-yard line. If teams and kickers don't start putting the ball in the landing zone, should the NFL penalize teams the same as when they kick it out of bounds? In the Do Better segment, we get into one other list that calls out one move the Seahawks should make and Amazon is password protecting the ability for people to change the time on their devices. Closing the show with Better at Life, we talk about the scientists behind the James Webb telescope and a former Seahawks player who is now an author on the subject of gardening. Special Thanks to our Sponsor BodySpec:
With a vote of 22-10, NFL owners fell 2 votes short of the mandatory 24 votes to "Ban the Tush Push." Some are surprised that Seattle ownership voted to ban it. Everyone has an opinion, no one seems to remember NFL history, and we'll be talking about the league's most infamous play. Should it or shouldn't it be banned? Plus, we get into the other NFL rules that were changed or upheld this week. And finally, are there any rules or changes to the game that should be on the NFL's radar? We get into it on this week's show. Special Thanks to our Sponsor BodySpec:

Live from Triad's Scale Summit in Atlanta, I got the opportunity to sit down with two Triad members who are driving SHP Financial's incredible growth—founding partner Keith Ellis Jr. and Chief Operating Officer Michelle Short. In this behind-the-scenes conversation, we unpack how SHP went from a 4-person startup to a 55-person firm who gathered $380M of total assets in 2024, growing to $1.6B of AUM. You'll hear how they scaled without burning out, built career tracks that turned interns into $80M producers, and created a culture-backed onboarding system that scales consistency, deepens trust, and reinforces what makes SHP different. 3 of the biggest insights from Keith and Michelle… #1.) How SHP Gathered $380M of Total Assets in 2024SHP didn't grow by grinding, they grew by stepping back. Instead of meeting with every client, SHP's founders focused on high-net-worth clients while their team of specialists handled planning, follow-up, and client management. The result? $380M of total assets without burnout or bottlenecks. #2.) The Onboarding System That Scales Consistency, Trust, and ReferralsEvery SHP hire starts with a Vision Session, a 1:1 with a partner, and a deep dive into the firm's culture handbook. From “Shipmates” to Enneagram walls, everything is built to align the team and protect the client experience. That's how SHP builds internal trust—and earns referrals without ever asking. #3.) SHP's 3-Tier Client Model That Protects Founder TimeBy segmenting clients into three tiers, SHP ensures their founders only meet with $2.5M+ prospects—while newer advisors gain reps with clients under $1M. The result? More capacity, clearer career paths, and 4x the asset growth with half the meetings.SHOW NOTEShttps://bradleyjohnson.com/116FREE GIFT + JOIN THE DBDL INSIDER CREWToday's Gift: 30 minute 1:1 coaching call with BradAre you a financial advisor who feels stuck, needs help, or simply wants to have a conversation with Brad? The Seattle Seahawks have brought back Drew Lock ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. It raises questions about the future of Sam Howell, and if there is any potential for trade compensation with a crowded quarterback room. General Manager John Schneider and Coach Mike Macdonald spoke at the pre-draft press conference on Monday and confirmed trade talks surrounding Howell. We talk about some of the parallels with the 2012 offseason and how Seattle could still consider a QB in the draft based on that history. Plus, is it a "lazy narrative" that the Seahawks need to address the offensive line? We have two final interviews to share from the 2025 Shrine Bowl. Kyonte Hamilton of Rutgers was a late invite to the game and is being touted as a late-round value pick. The big man on the interior sounds like he'd be a locker room fit for any team. Roll Bama Roll managing editor Brent Taylor shares his insights on two of the top projected Alabama prospects and his thoughts on quarterback Jalen Milroe. Milroe is one of the most intriguing quarterback prospects in this year's draft coming off a rollercoaster season.
